What happens when the light of Christ illuminates a heart that's been walking in darkness? In this profoundly moving episode, Purpose Williams invites her mother and aunts to share their journeys from religious tradition to spiritual transformation. Their testimonies reveal a beautiful tapestry of resistance, revelation, and redemption that spans generations.
These remarkable women speak candidly about feeling lonely and incomplete despite outward appearances of happiness. They describe their initial resistance to the gospel message, even when persistently shared by family members. "I wanted to party," one aunt confesses, "but God had other plans." Through their stories emerges a powerful pattern of divine pursuit – how God used different people to plant and water seeds of faith until the perfect moment of spiritual awakening.
The transformative power of genuine conversion rings through each testimony. "When I woke up the next morning," one aunt recalls, "I was looking for that joy I felt the night before—and it was still there. I looked outside and the sun seemed to be gleaming." These weren't merely emotional experiences but profound reorientations that changed desires, behaviors, and perspectives permanently.
Perhaps most beautiful is the family dimension of their faith journey. One sister's salvation sparked a chain reaction, creating a spiritual heritage that continues through multiple generations. "I wouldn't trade any one of these women for anything," Purpose reflects. "They're priceless, they're gold to me." Their stories demonstrate how faith can transform not just individuals but entire families.
Whether you've resisted God's call or you're hungering for something more authentic than religious tradition, these testimonies will resonate deeply. They remind us that no matter our background or past choices, Christ offers everyone the opportunity to become "a new creation" where "old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
Ready to experience this transformation yourself? Listen now and discover how saying yes to God could change everything.

Speaker 6:I thank god for another opportunity auntie joanne say something thank god for being in in the midst of this, this opportunity to be with my niece, that trees, and all my sisters. God, he is so good to us and and he brought us a long, long way.

Speaker 3:God Amen AT Shirley.
Speaker 7:I'm so thankful and grateful to be here today. Tree. I long for this moment and I'm so grateful for the publicity that God will give us in our diverse thinking and how we can coexist together in the will of God, and it's so wonderful it's absolutely delicious.
Speaker 3:Ain't too many what you want to tell the people?
Speaker 8:for all the things for all the things, for all the things he done for me and all of us. That's peace. Thank you, darling, for that night. I'm so grateful to be here For all of my sisters. I thank God for just allowing us to be here.

Speaker 10:We thank God for this opportunity to tell the word, to tell the gospel.
Speaker 7:Yes.
Speaker 10:Somebody might hear something and want to say yes to God, and that's what the purpose is Amen. That's right Our theme is purpose and the purpose is to invite someone to Jesus, that's right.
Speaker 3:Amen, a great commission, amen, amen. I am so excited about this episode and tonight, for many reasons, I'm sitting in the presence of God. I just I'm so thankful. All the time. I tell people, all the time I just feel so blessed To be born into such a family and to have them so intimately, you know, in my life, to have my mom and my other moms, my aunties, and I just I'm so excited for you guys to experience this episode, uh, with me and to hear, hear of the goodness of God from my mom and my aunties. I have always watched them, I still watch them. Everything about them I watch. You know, I might not always say something, but I'm always watching because I'm always gleaning from them. I would be a fool not to get wisdom from them, uh, and I just want to encourage people, people now you know you can't tell them nothing and they don't want to hear anything and they think everybody's just old and don't know no better. Maybe get yourself together. One of my aunties tells all the time live on, get yourself together. And the scripture is clear about getting wisdom right. The scripture says wisdom is the principal thing. Get wisdom and in all that getting, get understanding. I think this episode is going to be incredible and life-changing for the better for all who experienced this.
Speaker 3:The title of this episode is new. Of course, I wanted this very eccentric title and very creative title, but that was all. The Lord kept giving me new. And if we think about the word new itself, we know that there's a significant change happening, we know that there's something brand new. And when we think about things that are brand new, usually I feel like the word comes to me perfect. When you get a new car, everything about it is is perfect to you. You know, I'm saying you got that new car smell. You expect everything to work correctly and if it don't, you know you got to take it back to the dealership and they got to do something about it. But the word new, uh, just just rang out in my in my head. And concerning the scripture, it means the scripture that we'll be going across. It means salvation being redeemed, being engrafted into the body, being accepted into the beloved um and being changed by the, by the ministry of reconciliation.
Speaker 3:Uh, our scriptures this evening will be 2 Corinthians, the 5th chapter and the 17th verse, and also Ephesians, the 2nd chapter, the 1st through the 3rd verse. 2 Corinthians, the 5th chapter. Do yourself a favor, read the entire chapter and just feast. Just feast on the Lord. We're going to pull out this scripture, this part of it, but just feast. Do feast on the Lord. We're going to pull out this scripture, this part of it, but just feast. Do yourself a real favor, take the time and just sit with 2 Corinthians, the 5th chapter. The whole chapter is delicious, as is the Bible in general. That's why you say taste and see. So we're going to read that first scripture. Auntie Joyce, do you want to read it for us?
Speaker 9:I will 2 Corinthians, the 5th chapter and the 17th verse. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. All things are passed away. Behold, all things are passed away. Behold, all things are become new.
Speaker 3:Mm-hmm, so, so delicious, so amen. So delicious, so good, and what an absolutely delicious scripture. And I definitely love King James version of everything. I'm definitely love King James version Of everything. I'm just a King James girl.
Speaker 1:But I also.
Speaker 3:I dive it over into the, the Amplified Classic version and I want to read that it says Therefore, if any person is engrafted in Christ the Messiah, he is a new creature, a new creature, all together the old, previous moral and spiritual condition. Christ the Messiah, he is a new creature, a new creature, altogether the old, the previous moral and spiritual condition has passed away. Behold the declaration. I like it. The fresh and the new has come. So, those of you who are not KJV people, amplified Classic is always pretty delicious as well. Let's go to the next scripture Ephesians 2 1 through 3. We can actually, I want us actually to do 1 through 10. When I went back over and I was reading, I said we can kind of keep going in that AT. Shirley, would you like to read it for us?
Speaker 7:Ephesians 3 and 1. For this cause.
Speaker 3:I Paul 2 and 1.
Speaker 7:2 and 1. Yes, ma'am 2 and 1, 2 and 1 yes, ma'am, she said Ephesians 2 and 1, and you have, he quickened, who were dead and trespassed. Trespasses and sin wherein, in time past, ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince and powers. I'm sorry my Bible went away. That's okay, I'll take it up for went away.
Speaker 3:That's okay, I'll take it up for you. It's good. And you hath he quickened who were dead in trespasses and sins, wherein, in time past, you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience, among whom also we had our conversation in times past and the lust of our flesh fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and whereby nature, the children of wrath. Look what happened with adam and eve.
Speaker 3:Right, this part is telling us what we used to be, what we have been saved from. But God, who is rich, in mercy For his great love, wherewith he loved us Even when we are dead in sin, has quickened us together with Christ. By grace, ye are saved and have raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places. In Christ Jesus sound like a new citizenship. Amen, that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace and his kindness toward us. I'm always excited when I can make it personal through Christ Jesus, for by grace are you saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the what gift of God. And what do we have to do for a gift?
Speaker 9:we just receive it, we just receive it.
Speaker 3:And the Bible is making it even more clear here not of works, lest any man should boast, for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. So at the top of that chapter it tells us we've been quick and we've been raised from the dead. There was a resurrection and we felt like we were living. We was walking around, talking and doing the things of the living, but we were living. We was walking around, talking and doing the things of the living, but we were dead to see, having been born into that because of the father of Adam and Eve. But thank God for a rebirth where we can be reborn for because of the of the work of the second at him. Um, it it came to to me. Um, I remember and I said this before um on the podcast, on other episodes, a few episodes where, um, we were at um, we were at main street, we were on a communication at main street and there was this lady who got up. I can't remember if she was the emcee or if she was doing an occasion or something. Y'all don't know nothing about the occasion. Back in the day I'd tell you why you have come to that church.
Speaker 3:But she was telling about when she first got saved and how the Lord made it so sweet to her and it just got in her heart and that touched my heart, how she explained it, that it was so sweet. You know, we often when we think about God, you know if you're misinformed you think that he's just man just doing things. But he said he's knocking at the door, he's not busting down through the house, he's going to knock at the door and he's going to tell you. When we see him, when he comes to, when he uses the angel to come to Mary, he tells her what he wants to do with her life. And she made the decision by going along with what he said, by saying may it be unto me, as you have said. So when she described it, it really got my attention. I was like yo, that is pretty delicious. I think that was the first time I ever said that something was delicious concerning the scripture and concerning Christ. It just touched me down in my heart how she said it. You could tell when she said it that it was real. She didn't say it in this, that it was real. You know she didn't. She didn't say it in this big way, it was just real gentle and still, and she didn't try to make her voice real loud and real big, and you know, it got me.
Speaker 3:So I feel like that was a personal moment for me. She don't know what she did. You know, for me and this is even me growing up around, uh, the church, growing up around the saints, but that's how we know the scripture is clear too he'll use the foolish things to confound the wise, and so that that was just. That was a perfect, a perfect invitation for me. And I already, you know, I already knew you, you growing up in church, you already know, you know what it is.
Speaker 3:But when she did that and when she said it like that, it just really got my attention and I was like you know what I'm going to taste and I'm going to see and I'm going to see that it's good. That's why, yes, yes, which came to me, it gave me these questions and I said that was my story of really getting into the side of God, that I felt like I hadn't been thinking about. You know what I'm saying. I just didn't think about it that way, but it was so profound to me.
Speaker 3:So ever since then I always wanted to know how people came to Christ and what it was like for them for that first time. So I was like that's what, that's what I want my aunties to come in and talk about, because you're talking about a family of believers and that's not always an easy thing and it's not always a normal thing. You know what I'm saying. So I said I got to get them on here and we're going to talk about these Few questions. The first question is how did you come across Christ and what made you receive His gift Of eternal life? Who want to? Who want to take the first question? Then Come on. We didn't.
Speaker 8:I do it. Yes, ma'am, everything for the it. Yes, ma'am, everything for the glory of God. Yes, ma'am, I came across Christ through someone witnessing to me. There was an old lady called Mama Pettis. She's my neighbor on Eastern Street. She was the first one really made it simple to me and told me I had to be born again. Yes, ma'am, not of horrible things but incorruptible. Incorruptible yes, so I didn't want to hear that person.
Speaker 3:It be like that. I like that honesty and it was things that she said.
Speaker 8:I don't want you to leave me alone, let's be real, that's fine. Let's be real, that's fine. And I did put my outboard hat, but she kept on being very persuasive. She kept on telling me come and go to church with me. I said no ma'am Days passed, we pass, but I decide I go with her and I told her in my heart I was saying I'm going to let her. Maybe she'll leave me alone. Right right.
Speaker 8:Didn't I really know that God had ways of getting us back to Main Street. I was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. That's where I really got saved at. I was in this church singing in the choir, singing that others may come to Jesus, not knowing that I was going to be the one to come to Jesus. And this is how I came to him, by his spirit drawing me. That's right.
Speaker 8:It wasn't nothing that I did, that's right. It was of his goodness, that's right. He looked beyond all I thought and said he formed Daniel and I to be children of God. That's mine, thank God, amen, thank God, and because of it it gives you eternal, eternal.
Speaker 5:Yes, amen.
Speaker 3:So what I'm hearing is the seed was planted. It goes right back to scripture, when man plants, when waters, and God gets to increase. How beautiful. And you're singing, and God has a sense of humility. You're singing, come to Jesus and look what happened. And you came to Jesus. Isn't that something he had you singing to yourself, ain't he?
Speaker 8:God, but something so good to me. Everything became new. Yes ma'am I'll never forget.
Speaker 8:That night, the whole universe, the stars, the heavens I could see things at a different point of view. I began to accept the beautifulness of Christ. I was hungry for him before I came to him and I just gave my life to the pastor and join his hand with all I need to do. But God kept on digging with my heart. I did not know him as my personal Savior, my personal savior, and he can be personal to everyone that believe in him. Yes, indeed, he can be a very present help in the time of trouble. I was a confused first thing. I didn't know what to believe in my God. But one day, that night, when he touched my heart and it had been 50 years ago, but I'm quite strong been a new creature and quite stale. Not condemning nobody, but you're living beneath your purpose. So good.
Speaker 8:You don't know what joy is all about. You don't know what love is all about, until Christ comes in. When he comes in, he make you a new creature and him all his own stuff. I'll be down the way with, and your heart and your mind will be just to please him. That's so good. You won't be walking after your own life, no more, but you'll be doing the things that are pleasing in the eyes of God. I love you, trish, thank you baby.
Speaker 3:That was delicious, she said. I want to say that again. She said not to condemn. Condemn anybody, but you are living beneath.
Speaker 5:Your privileges.
Speaker 3:That was so beautiful when you said that. Thank God, it's true. And what's so funny is there's a secular song that says and it's so funny still God uses Whatever he want to use.
Speaker 1:He used that dummy, that's right.
Speaker 3:There's a secular song that says we were made to live For so much more, but we lost ourselves. Now that's the gospel. That's the gospel coming out of a secular song.
Speaker 3:God is amazing. I don't even know if the writer of that song knew you know what he was really speaking on and he could have been in a different place and I hope the Lord touched that heart because it was already ready to receive. But he said we were made to live for so much more but we lost ourselves. But we can be found. That's the delicious part about it, that's the beautiful part. And, dude, it's probably a spoiler, but I did find out Because I would ask my mama how, mama, how, how did they got saved? And they were like ain't too mad at us, you can't even witness to us. So you know, all this time I'm thanking God for Mother Pettis, because look at the seed that was sown right and it was like ain't too mad at us and I was like not her being Noah to the saving of her house and saving folks living right. Praise God, thank God, praise God. Mama, what do you remember about first receiving Christ? Do you recall the day?
Speaker 4:Well, I remember my sister inviting us to go to church with her. You know, we was raised up in church. We had to go to church Right, we always had to go. But it was a personal relationship that took place in my life. Yes, it was a change. It was something that was great. I needed it at that time I was young, I was in middle school, and it just was a change that needed to take place in my life, and God did it in the nick of time.
Speaker 4:Yes, you know, I don't know where I could be now if it wasn't for him coming in my life and loving me. I felt unlovable, but he loved me enough to save me and to make a difference in my life. Wonderful, and it was just wonderful. It was something that was just amazing. It was something that I needed and I thank God for, and then we were able to. You know, like you said, she witnessed to all of us and it was a change, and we was able to study together, to read together, to pray together. Even though our parents prayed for us, mama prayed for us oh yes.
Speaker 4:And she taught us that's what we need, but we needed a personal relationship.
Speaker 9:That's it.
Speaker 4:Something to give our life to God, you know, for him to come in to take up with us. You know he loved me when I was unlovable, unconditional. You know he had that unconditional love and he did it and he wanted to share with everybody. And that's what we did. We tried to share it because my sister shared it with us. And then we saw the need. You know, God gave us the opportunity. He came and he knocked at the door and I was able to receive Him, Not nothing that I did or said, but it was the goodness of God. Now I can live and not be by myself going through things, Even though I have a husband. I have all my sisters and brothers that I could talk to, but I can lean and depend on him, no matter what I go through, because he has saved me and he's still saving me and keeping me, you know not just now but in the future as well.
Speaker 4:You know, not just now, but in the future as well. And I can help. We can help others, we can let them know that. Christ is the answer, not all the things out there that you cling to or tend to go to Drugs, alcohol, sex, anything, those things that are not going to be. They are temporal.
Speaker 1:They are not eternal.
Speaker 4:So we need God.
Speaker 1:And I just thank.
Speaker 4:God for saving me and coming in my life and loving me. Not that I was worthy I wasn't worthy but he saved me and I just thank him for that and I love him for that. He saved me and I just thank him for that and I love him for that.
Speaker 5:Amen. Well, I thank God that he saved me. Yes, like everyone else has said, it starts with the personal relationship with Christ. I thank God for my sister Mayada coming to us the night she got saved and she shared the gospel with us. Amen. I thank God for my mom number one, because my mama was a praying woman.
Speaker 8:Amen.
Speaker 5:My mama read her Bible. She taught us the ways of God.
Speaker 5:Yes, she made sure that we attended church every Sunday. Yes, she had us in things in the church, participating in the church, but we still did not know God, we did not have a personal relationship with the Father. I think about I was wretched, I was undone, I was a sinner and no good was found in me. I was a sinner and no good was found in me. For the Bible say all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. So by one man, adam, disobedience. So we all are made sinners Right. So by the obedience of one, which is Christ, we was all made righteousness in him, we Christ, he paid the penalty for our sins. The Bible say the wages of death is sin. The wages of sin is death, amen. But the gift of God is eternal life. So when we accept Christ in our lives, he makes us new. As Tree said, we are grafted in Adoption. Journey airs with Christ.
Speaker 3:By faith.
Speaker 5:He's our savior. Yes indeed, he made us new, a new creature being born again. We're born and renewed by the Holy Spirit, amen, amen. And once that relationship you have with Christ, he changed our lives.
Speaker 1:Yes, he did.
Speaker 5:It's no more I that live it, but Christ that live it in us. Amen. And he put that desire in your heart, that you want to serve him, you want to live for him, you want to praise him. And I thank God for what he did in all of our lives, and once he saved us, he seals us until the day of redemption. So we praise him, we honor him, we lift him up and we thank him for the love of Christ, for the love of God that he shed it upon in our hearts.
Speaker 8:Amen.
Speaker 6:Auntie Joanne. I thank God for saving me. My life was different from all of my sisters. I was grown and I had a son, and I was married and I had traveled to different places, but there was a missing point in my life, and that life was Christ. I felt like I could go to church, then go to the club go to church and go to the club. But that's not, that wasn't.
Speaker 6:God. And he didn't want me to do that, so he gave me my son. And when he gave me my son, he gave me something that I said I don't want him to live the life that I need I want him to have a better life. And I want him to be able to do the things that God need him to do. And I need Christ for myself, and so God blessed me. Sister Mae came and she talked with me, like she said, at first.
Speaker 6:I didn't want to receive it, you know, because I was calling myself, enjoying the life that I was living. But it was not life, it was death, but God. She came again and she talked to us and she invited us to come and be in church with her. We went, but we still didn't receive Christ as our personal savior but God.
Speaker 6:He dealt with our heart, he dealt with our mind and he didn't let nothing work out for me, because he knew what I needed. I needed him, I needed him, I needed that personal relationship with him. And so, once he saved me and he gave me a determination, he gave me a desire to get in the Word of God, I would get up in the morning, I would bathe my baby, I would wash his clothes, and the next thing that God would do is that he would give the word of God to me and I could not get out of it Shaky. I could read it, I would read it and I would read it and I would read the word, and that word became life to me.
Speaker 6:Yes, and you know, after that I began that word Repentance came to me. And you know, after that I began, that word repentance came to me After I had repented. I felt like I needed to go and tell the people around me that God has saved me and if I did anything to you or said anything to you, forgive me, please forgive me, because God had forgiven me and I needed to be able to say that to them.
Speaker 6:And that word was so very important to me. We went to church and the word that we, at that particular time, we were getting God would have us to come back home and we would study the Word of God. Tv wasn't important to us, wasn't anything important, but the Word of God, and we would read the Word. Then we would go and we would study it and we would look into it and we would remember the passages that was in the scripture and he said like I said.
Speaker 6:he said God said thine word, have I hid? In my heart that we might not sin against him. You know. It's there now, the same word. You know, because that's what's going to cause me to go on and do what God has me to do. Eternal life is the place that I want to be. Yes, it is. I want to be with the Lord forever. Not just a temporary thing.
Speaker 2:I need a complete thing, and that thing is going to cause me to have eternal life.
Speaker 6:I'm so grateful, and I'm so thankful because if it had not been for the Lord, who was on my side when the enemy came out against me, he would have swallowed me up, he said taste and see.
Speaker 3:Taste and see. The Lord is good.
Speaker 6:And you know his mercy he didn't do it for me. He did it for me, and since he did it for me, he can do it for all of us and you know what he did. I had to walk to work every day, but you know what he did for me while I was walking. He gave up that word in my heart and he let me see a person that passed by me. And.
Speaker 6:I would say did you know Jesus loved you? But the Bible said for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life, and this word would come to me while I'm walking walking to work, and so I just want to say I thank God, that's right.
Speaker 2:God did it. Yes, he did it he did it for me.
Speaker 6:God does, and he's right. He did it like that, that's right, you know, I'm just so thankful. Thank you, tree. That's right. I don't know why God gave you this for us, that's right, he he gave it to you for us?
Speaker 3:Yes, ma'am, and we want to say thank you.
Speaker 6:It's something that is going to be a everlasting thing in my heart, amen.
Speaker 3:And.
Speaker 6:I just want to say to my sisters I love you Amen I thank God. God did something special for us he did he did.
Speaker 8:Amen, he really did.
Speaker 3:Wonderful, wonderful change. That's so beautiful. And what you said stuck out, and all of you have spoken. A lot of things have stuck out, but you said you felt like you was living a good life, you know, having fun, enjoying your life, and the resistance beat is for real. That's why I like the honesty of the bible. It's not a lot of times where we read when god speaks to people, that they're immediately like, yeah, a lot of times they they did, like we do. You come up with excuses, don't want to feeling adequate. Yes, you know all kind of things.
Speaker 3:When god came to gideon, he had to call him a mighty man of valor. Gideon said I'm the least of the least. I'm over here hiding in this cave. When he came to Moses, moses said he didn't have the speech from him, but God used him still. He's just so wonderful and the term pick up the slack is very, very underwhelming to what he really does. Man, uh, and the scripture is clear about that in our weakness, his strength is made perfect and so, uh, but I, I enjoyed that and you said that he, that the one who really wanted you, that made you want to change your life, was when you had ray ray, and you wanted a better life for him, and so you made your life better and that's by receiving, and I just, I'm just enjoying listening to how the seeds were planted I'm enjoying the honesty of resisting resisting that planting and then I'm enjoying the beauty of coming back and accepting what you really needed.
Speaker 3:You know, I think that's, that's absolutely delicious.
Speaker 7:Uh, ain't too sure what you got for us so grateful to be here tonight and share and how I came across christ, one of the most wonderful things that I thought about all over the. I remember when I was first baptized. I was about six years old and we went through the treacherous jungle, I thought to get to a lake so we could be baptized. Take me to the water.
Speaker 2:They took me to the water and then dipped me in the water.
Speaker 7:But as the years went by, the more I thought about God being more. I needed more, so I would go out on campus and just take my Bible and just sit out on the campus at Trinity Garden and read my Bible during lunchtime. Then one day the Lord took me away from my family to California and I thought this is the most unjust thing that could ever happen to me. I cried and I wrote letters and all I could think about is I was torn from my beloved family.
Speaker 7:And how we were like everyone had stated, we knew the word of God Because our family, our parents, they prayed and they read, and they prayed and they read and they prayed for us that we would have a better life. So one day in California, I go for employment not knowing that this young man that was there would lead me to Christ. So the next thing he did, after taking us through how to pass a state exam and get a state job, yes, ma'am.
Speaker 7:He and his wife took us to a community center in Del Paso Heights. I mean, that is. It's a treacherous, it's not, it's like the ghetto, it's not like being in Beverly Hills. But we went to a community center there and that night he kept telling us, he and his wife, that we needed to be born again. There's something missing in your life. And he would say, what's missing is you've not been born again. I'm thinking I've already been born again. I've been a Christian all my life. I'm six years old. I was baptized and went to church.
Speaker 7:So I'm already a Christian. But I thought about what he was saying and I realized how lonely I was. I was so lonely that I kept reading the word of God and kept trying to make a difference in my own life. But it wasn't until I gave up my life to Christ. When you say salvation or religion, it really means it's a difference in salvation versus religion? Absolutely, because you can be religious toward getting up every day and making your own breakfast.
Speaker 7:Yeah, you can be religious toward getting up and getting dressed every day so good you can be religious toward obeying your parents.
Speaker 5:Yeah.
Speaker 7:But once you become a child of God, it makes a difference.
Speaker 7:I had to ask the Lord. He said everybody. What you guys need to do is you need to ask the Lord to forgive you of your sin, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. And I'm sure we were all thinking like, well, we already repented. But we repented and we asked the Lord to forgive us of our sins and to come into our life and that we believe that Jesus Christ had died and rose again. Jesus Christ had died and rose again and he kept telling him and his wife kept telling us that once you accept the Lord in your life and you make this sinner's prayer real in your life, you're going to see a difference. We saw the difference and no matter where we went. When I went to college, I have to do presentations and my presentation was salvation of religion and I was so excited about being in a communication class where I needed to have a chance to expound on what was real to me.
Speaker 3:And what?
Speaker 7:was real to me was the difference that the Lord had come in my life. I was no longer lonely. I was no longer needing to try to figure out what snakes, because I knew that God was going to take care of me and that he was going to keep me, because I was constantly reading the word of God. And so that led us to knowing that we had to start witnessing. We couldn't just accept the word of God in our life.
Speaker 7:We were told that now we needed to go out and tell others about what we had received and I was so grateful because, in telling other people about the salvation that we had received and that I had received, that had made a difference in my life.
Speaker 7:it became joyful. It became joyful to go from door to door and tell different ones about what the Lord could do in their lives. And so there was one family who the father was. He drunk alcohol a lot, but God let that family come to our church, Started going to our church and they lived together more than 50 some years going to church together. So I'm so grateful for the love of God and for the continual reading of the word of God and knowing how diverse God is. He's such a diverse God that, no matter who you are, he meets you at your level. It's not just going to be at the level of Miss Tree or Miss.
Speaker 7:Nita, Miss Joanne, but he's going to come in and he's going meet you at your level yeah have you continually wanting to do the will of the? Yes even returning to alabama was a a goal of mine to seek the will of the lord for me, sometime you gotta run from evil, and we don't realize it until we start reading the word of God.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 7:That we've got to get out of the clutches of the enemy. And go to the throne of grace.
Speaker 3:Right so.
Speaker 7:I'm so grateful for this opportunity to let you know that eternally, god will be in my life. Amen, god in my life. Amen, because I will pray and ask him for guidance. Yes, eternally God will be in my life. God in my life Because I will pray and ask him for guidance. And when I pray and ask him for guidance, I'm going to stand on what the word says that I should do.
Speaker 3:And I'm going to keep doing it.
Speaker 7:We have to keep letting our little light shine. No matter what we do, let the little light shine.
Speaker 3:Yeah, that's Bible. That's Bible. It say let your light so shine so that others may see and glorify God, the Father, which is in heaven. That's delicious, that's absolutely delicious. That's delicious, that's absolutely delicious. I really, I really enjoy. Like you said, that is one of my Favorite things About God, him, him being himself, being the all powerful God, the all knowing God, the omnipresent God yes, knowing all of us and knowing the language to speak to us. Yes, the omnipresent God. Yes, knowing all of us and knowing the language to speak to us. For us to accept him. The scripture is good, like you say. He say he gonna meet you where you at, and we see it over and over in the scripture. Yes, I think about the woman at the wheel. Yes, you know, she had his reputation. It was already a group of people that were, you know, not really accepted by the Jews.
Speaker 1:Do you think?
Speaker 3:Christ cared? Absolutely not. But he looks at us and he's like you, you're perfect for me, come here. You're perfect for me, come here, it doesn't matter what you did, you, you're perfect for me, come here. And he talks to her in her language. That's right. And look at the change that happened with her, so much so that the people got to see the difference on her, because, you know, they know about the reputation the whole time.
Speaker 3:But she has changed so much that she get the whole city saved. Look at the change. You know what I'm saying. Come see a man. Come see a man.
Speaker 3:Come see a man and you know there's no doubt people in the city are like come see a man. Of course you're telling us to come see a man. You see all the men, girl. But you got to understand the power of the change. That had to be visible. The light had to be shining from her. There had to be a difference from her For her to say the whole thing. And then, you know, the wives were like don't follow her, try my sin man. They had you know I'm talking about. You know human nature, follow human nature. But it just speaks to the power of the change that happens when you give your life to Christ. You said something else that was interesting you had to give your life up.
Speaker 7:I had to give it up.
Speaker 3:You had to give your life up and really it's symbolic of what Jesus did for us. He gave his life up. But when we give our life up, we don't die, we live forever. That's right. We die to sin, we die to sin. We die to the wages of it, we die to the debt that is owed because of sin, but we live forever. That's pretty incredible to me. That's pretty delicious. It's absolutely delicious. Auntie Reda, tell us about your experience.
Speaker 10:To God be the glory. I just thank God for the opportunity to share the life that God has given me.
Speaker 10:I was born in a house with 15 children. I was 16. It was 16 of us that my mom and dad had and I felt like my sister Shirley. I was around so many people but I was always lonely. But at the appointed time, I remember graduating from high school and my mom said I'm going to give you a gift and she go. You have two states to choose. Which one you want to go to? She said Detroit, michigan or California. I ended up choosing California. Now, when I got to California, grown as I am, I thought, oh whoa, I get to do what I want to do.
Speaker 3:That's how it be girl.
Speaker 10:You know, I love to dance, love, love, love. I still do. But God began to knock on my heart.
Speaker 10:And we were talking earlier about new ideas and new precepts coming into our minds of how we wanted our lives to be. So I knew when I left here to go there, I had new ideas. I didn't know what the ideas were going to come to fruition with, but God. But God knew it was my sister, shirley. We went to stay with her. Her other sister-in-law, phyllis, was with us and at night when she got off work she would come to the room we went bunk beds and she would just talk about Jesus. She didn't talk about our short dresses. She didn't talk about how we danced. She didn't talk about, you know, our lifestyle at that time.
Speaker 10:We wasn't sane, but she would tell us about Jesus and how good he was. Every night she'd come home, she'd tell us about Jesus. And so I told Phyllis, which her name was, phyllis. I said we came here to party, didn't we? Where the party at? Tell the truth, you know what they said when the party at, you know what they say where them fans at. We're like where the party at, but God, at the appointed time, the appointed time. And so she even had the neighbor, one of their friends, to come over and talk to us. You remember that. And he came and told us about the real, how there's a heaven and there's a hell, and if you don't repent of your sins, you go on to hell. He made it plain.
Speaker 1:He didn't sugarcoat.
Speaker 10:We were like we're going to party, but he didn't change his mind. So therefore, we went to a youth service the following Friday night and the preacher was talking about hell and heaven, and there's only two places you can go. If you repent of your sins, you can go be with God. If you don't?
Speaker 10:there's a hell that has enlarged itself. And so that night we came up to the altar I'm like we at this altar and then we started repenting and we started asking God to come into our lives and it just became real man. We were praying, we were crying and I was crying and I was praying and I'm like I'm going to the club.
Speaker 10:And so, but you know what? God did something in my heart that night, and it has never been the same again. And one of your questions were how do you know that God came into your life? How did you feel the next morning when I woke up? See, I wanted to go to the clubs and the parties because I felt like I felt total joy.
Speaker 3:And that was your way you celebrated. Yeah, that was the way I celebrated.
Speaker 10:The next morning, when I woke up, I was looking for that joy. I had that night and it was there.
Speaker 3:It was there.
Speaker 10:And I was like whoa, I'm still feeling the songs. Whoa, I'm still feeling the songs, I'm still feeling the joy. This is real you know, and they say you look at your hands and your hands look new. And you look at your feet, and they do too you know it's real, you know.
Speaker 10:I looked outside and the sun seemed to be gleaming you know, and so, but it was at the appointed time that God came into my heart. He gave me, you know, life, new life, new joy, new peace. And I've been running ever since my sister talked about reading the word of God. I can remember nights just reading over and over, like the same scripture, going from chapter to chapter Amen, and God just showing me, his life for me. And I didn't want to go to the clubs no more after that.
Speaker 10:I didn't want to go out, I didn't want to do this, I didn't want to do that, and I called home and I told my sisters about what I received. And God is still real today. Yes, he is, he's real today, god. I hear him tell me I've given you time, I give you time. It's all about time. We're here tonight because of time. It's all about season, amen. And so I'm going. We're here tonight because of time. It's all about season, amen, amen. And so I'm going to tell this story. I haven't told this to my sisters, I haven't even told my husband.
Speaker 10:I was coming home one night, I think it was from work, but it was during the wintertime, so it was kind of dark. I had ran some errands before I got home. I had ran some errands before I got home and Shante, I think I had a cold, and she gave me these pills, vitamins, whatever, to get rid of the cold, the flu, and they were big. They were big and it was two in a pack, and so I took them and I was swallowing them and they wouldn't go down. I was literally choking, driving by myself in the dark, so I pulled over. I said, well, if this is my time. I don't want to hurt anybody driving. So I pulled over into a parking lot and I sit there and I was like I couldn't breathe, I couldn't swallow. I was trying to get it up and all of a sudden it just got it, just of a sudden it just went away.
Speaker 10:It just went away.
Speaker 10:God said that was not your time. He's given us time and now he's still giving us time. Every year, when a new year comes in, I say oh God, this is a new year, what are you going to do? And he say I gave you this year. Now, what are you going to do? And he say I gave you this year, now what are you going to do? And he gives us time and seasons. He say there's a time and a season for all things. We're talking about having new life and new birth. It's a time to be born naturally.
Speaker 10:But that wasn't good enough. Who was it that asked Jesus? Nicodemus, nicodemus, how can a man be born again when he's old? Can he go back into the mother's womb to be born again? Jesus said no, every man that's been born of the flesh is of the flesh. But every man that's been born of the flesh is of the flesh. But every man that's been born of the spirit is of the spirit, and so that lets us know that we have to be born again.
Speaker 10:We got to repent of our sins, and that's what I did that night. I repented of my sins and I still repent. I still say God forgive me. I still say God, oh, help me. I still say Lord, forgive me. I still say God, oh, help me. I still say Lord, have mercy, amen. Because after all this stuff is over. I want to see Jesus. Yes, I want to be in his face and right standing, and right standing, I don't want him to say depart from me.
Speaker 10:I done preached before, I done taught the Word of God In that same house. He called me to do his work. Before I really got into a ministry, god had called me to do his work and prayer. Oh my God, he called me to pray. I would spend hours in prayer and I'd be like, what am I doing? But I would be crying out to God and crying out to God, and crying out to God. But you know what it was was? The flesh was dying. So I could say yes to God.
Speaker 10:And because of that God, just, he's still good, he's still great, he's still greatly to be praised. And I give him all the glory and all the honor. And it's not great, he's still greatly to be praised. I give him all the glory and all the honor, all the honor, and it's not over. He said I give you time. He spoke to me that this week, last week, week before last, and he gives us all time. He's given us time. Yes, we have time tonight. This was a part of the time, yes, indeed, why I could not die that night. I had to say how good God is and how he saved me from me. I don't want to party, but I'm partying for Jesus, amen.
Speaker 7:One more testimony.
Speaker 10:I would be in church and this one service I was in church and praise and worship was going on. A preacher was up and as far as I could see I could see people. I had my eyes closed but it was like a vision. As far as I could see, I could see people and so, but I was like I had a basket in my hand. I told my sister, joanne, about this years ago and out of the basket I was pulling like bread out and I was giving it to the people. And as I was giving it to the people, they were eating it. And I give and they eat. As far as I could see it was souls.
Speaker 10:And so God, he called me to bring the word. But you know what he told me? He said you're still giving that word. I've called you to give it to these children Every day. I could say Jesus, what's his name? Jesus. And they say it loud and clear. At first, the first day when I get a new class, they look at me and they're like you know, but that second and third day they got it. They'll even say Ms Hutchinson, what's his name? His name is Jesus. He's the son of the living God.
Speaker 10:And we're not going to forget the Holy Ghost. That's who we overlook the Holy Spirit. Jesus ain't here, no more.
Speaker 10:He went to be with the Father. But he said I'm not going to leave you comfortless. I'm going to give you a comforter. I'm going to give you a teacher. He's going to lead you and he's going to give you a comforter. I'm going to give you a teacher. He's going to lead you and he's going to guide you and he's going to direct you. Who is he directing us? Back to God, the Father, jesus, the Son, amen. The blood of Jesus, amen. But God is so real. I'm so grateful to my niece. She's amazing to me. I said it earlier.
Speaker 10:She's a blessing, she's a miracle, she is somebody great, and I think all of you are great, absolutely.
Speaker 7:Y'all are great.
Speaker 10:Absolutely. I've dealt with a lot of women in conferences giving out that basket with that bread and them eating Amen, amen. But I think of the women that are sitting here with me today, including Naya, amen. They are great. Naya would come and Kena would prepare for her, never left her out.
Speaker 6:That's right.
Speaker 10:Shante said Mom, guess what, when she first sung, take it to the King, naya was there and my baby felt like I'm not, what's her name? Tamela Mann, I can't sing like her. And Naya said well, if we wanted Tamela Mann, we would have went and got her. You remember that, man? We would have went and got her. You remember that. So we got Shante and, oh my God did not. God bless Amen. So all of these women here tonight are just mighty, mighty, mighty. Yes.
Speaker 10:Mighty, amen, mighty, they are mighty. So I thank God for being here Right. I thank God for being here Right. I thank God for time.
Speaker 3:Absolutely. I imagine growing up with these mighty women of God. You know that's a good deal. I always feel.
Speaker 3:You know, I always feel so blessed. You know, amen. I wouldn't trade them. Grandma used to tell us that all the time, babe, I wouldn't trade y'all for the world For a million dollars. I would not trade any one of these women Sitting here with tonight For anything. They're priceless, they're gold to me.
Speaker 3:And this is my auntie. You reminded me of this when you was talking about the bread. Right, I remember going through menopause. Menopause tried to take me out of here. But I thank God for my mom and my auntie. These are the women who kept me sane and I'm convinced now that a lot of women that was in those insane asylums years ago, baby, they was going through menopause, they was going through menopause and they didn't know. They didn't know that they were going through menopause and they didn't know. They didn't know that they were going Through menopause. And but my auntie Already told me this and I have so many Nuggets from all of them.
Speaker 3:But because she Talked about the bread, it made me think about it. I was dealing with so so many symptoms, lord God, so many symptoms, and it was just. It was insane. With so so many symptoms, lord God, so many symptoms, and it was just. It was insane and I felt like I was going to lose my mind. I felt like I was dying.
Speaker 3:I would come to AT AT Joy would be talking to me. I called AT Joy. I'm sure she didn't know what I was saying. She just started praying. It was so bad. One time I told my AT I was going to take myself. I know she didn't know what to think about me and it was so bad. One time I told my auntie I was going to take myself out. I was like I know she ain't know what the thing about me. But Aunt T, aunt T already told me this One time and she was like Healing is the children's bread. This is scripture. And this is what she said. And I say this now and I done told people to say it. She said, she said and I eat the bread, I make sandwiches Out of the bread, big ones.
Speaker 3:Big sandwiches and I tell so many people that and I'm laughing. But that's real to me. You know what I'm saying, knowing that the bread Is ready for me, the bread of healing Is already ready for me, and I can eat it. And I can make big sandwiches Out of the bread, big sandwiches, I ain't worried. I gotta worry about the caloric intake or none of that, about how many carbs, none of that. But um, that's, I say, the lord, he's just so like.
Speaker 3:And she said he's so diverse and he's meeting to us, you know that was something I need to hear, because I have been hearing oh yeah, you're the here child of god which I received. But when she said it like that, that was was something I could really, my spirit could really, you know, take in. So I was able to see it with my mind and that's part of faith the evidence of things not seen. So I was able to see myself eating just healing bread, healing sandwiches, and I be telling people that I be wondering what they be thinking, but I don't be caring because that's how, that's what helped me, that was one of the things that helped me. But when you said that, that brought it back up to my mind. Auntie Joyce, please share with us, amen.
Speaker 9:Amen, I just thank the Lord. Tonight I thank God for our niece. Thank you, auntie. Amen, I just thank the Lord tonight. I thank God for our niece.
Speaker 9:Thank you, auntie, which we call Tree, she is so beautiful to us and so wonderful to us, you know, but I thank God for one day accepting Christ into my life. Yes, ma'am, you know, and it wasn't nothing that I'd done good, like everybody else said, nothing that I did, you know good, but it was all the grace of God, you know, and I thank God for my sisters.
Speaker 1:My sister, May I my?
Speaker 9:sister Shirley, my sister Loretta and also y'all one of a dear musician that was in Nazaree when we were in the choir. She used to witness to us when we were in the choir. She used to witness to us as young people all the time. She would come and play for us on the piano while we sing. But she sought our opportunity. She took time and talked to us about accepting Christ into our lives. You know, and I thank God, that one day I accepted him in my life through the testimony of my sister Mayada, my sister Shirley, my sister Loretta and also Sister Moore.
Speaker 9:You know she used to witness to us and I just thank God for you know him, letting me open up my heart you know and receive him, just as everybody has stated our know and receive them, just as everybody has stated Our parents? They trained us up in the way that we should go, you know, but we still had to accept Christ as our personal Savior. They told us about Christ, you know, and they prayed and they read their Bibles. They prayed for us, but it was up to us to accept Him in our lives.
Speaker 9:You know, and I just thank God for Him saving me. After I got saved, one Sunday we was getting ready to sing at Nazarene. I stood just talking about the Samaritan woman waiting on Ms Moore to come to the choir stand. I stood in the room it was a middle room before you go into the choir stand and I sit there and I said I'm going to sit right here and I'm going to wait, just like the Samaritan woman. The scripture came to my mind and I'm going to let Sister Moore that what she said to me and testifying and witnessing to me, I have accepted Christ in my life, you know, and I told her that and I thank God, I told her I thank God for her witnessing to me.
Speaker 9:She witnessed to the whole choir, but I thank God, you know, I took it personal and I accepted Christ into my life, you know. And also, one day we were in the choir and I began to sing. I began to sing the song God. I need to delve this a lot.
Speaker 3:I once was lost.
Speaker 9:Amazing grace yeah that is Amazing grace. How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I'm found, was blind, but now I see A light, but it was just like the room was dark y'all. And all of a sudden the light came on. I could see what that song meant. I could see that I was lost in my sin. I was in darkness, I was walking around in the dark like a blind person, and I did not realize it until that Sunday morning.
Speaker 9:It was like somebody turned the light on. And then I saw where I was blind and I could not see. I was lost. I was a rich undone but thank God he saved me and I just thank God for that. If we truly accept Christ into our lives, there will be a change in our lives.
Speaker 9:As the scripture said in 2 Corinthians 5, 17,. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, it's going to be a change y'all. We cannot remain the same. I remember going to the service that Sister Mae invited me to us to before I got saved. I wasn't saved, but that night when I went to church, that song said I went to church one night and my heart wasn't right but something got a hold of me and I was 14, y'all.
Speaker 9:Yes, I was 14 years old, just like Loretta. I'm going to go to the prom. I'm going to do this, I'm going to do that.
Speaker 1:I'm going to live it up, I'm going to have a good time, you know my mama.
Speaker 9:She had a certain guidelines for us as children. When we get to be a certain age, we get to do more. We do things. She. Let us do things Then as we get older age-appropriate things she let us do age-appropriate things. So I was just planning everything that I'm going to do. I'm going to do this, I'm going to do that. I'm going to do, I'm going to do this, I'm going to do that. I'm going to have me a good time, y'all, but God but God.
Speaker 9:He saved me, he saved me, he changed my life and gave me the joy and the peace and the love we had love in our family, y'all but it's nothing like the love of God. We had some joy in our family. We had some times of trials and tribulations.
Speaker 9:That's life, but thank God when Jesus came into my life he let me know what real love was real peace, real joy, what serving God was all about. Real love was Real peace, real joy, real joy. What serving God was all about. You know, like Sister Anita stated and all of us have stated, we was trained according to the word of God to go to church, to know God, to be a part of what's going on at church, not pew sitters but we had to be a part and involve workers for the kingdom of God.
Speaker 9:I know we weren't saved y'all, but we were trained, he said. Train them up in the way that they should go. And when they're old, they will not depart from it, and I thank God for the training from my parents, thank God for the witness from my sisters, thank God for the witness from Mother, mrs Moore, sister Moore.
Speaker 6:Thank God, one planet one water Lord God, give us the increase Amen.
Speaker 5:Yes Lord Amen.
Speaker 3:Amen, it makes a difference, it makes a difference.
Speaker 3:It makes a difference. I often, you know, just think about that all the time. I'm listening to all the stories from my aunties and I see a lot of similarities and and, uh, points of points of reference my grandmother and my grandfather praying for them, training them up in church, and so they were creating already a space for god and you, which you'll have it anyway, whether you realize it or not. Like you can hear the things about them saying they were lonely. Somebody said they was confused, just a desperation.
Speaker 3:And because there is a void, there's a spot in everybody's heart and everybody's life, then only God can feel it's only, it's only etched out for him. You know, you know, you little, you play, you play with the blocks, and it's that that little cylinder cube when it has the top of the, the shapes cut out, and those shapes can only go To those voids that are, that are already there, and so we try to, and then Some of those shapes, they might fit into that space, but you gotta worry about it getting stuck, you got to worry about it jamming something up. So that's what we try to do with our life. We try to put this there, we try to put sex, we try to put drugs, we try to put alcohol, we try to put all these other idols there, because, listen, this is the real.
Speaker 3:We were made to worship. Yes, to worship. You're going to be worshiping. Yes, either way, you're going to be worshiping. This makes the scripture alive to me, that I don't have any other gods before me. That's right, a god. And we tend to think about a god being someone or something that's powerful, or whatever, or having this say so over our lives. But either could be yourself, either could be you, you could be in your own way either could be anything that we, we try to put in the place of god.
Speaker 3:So, because we're made to worship, you're worshiping anyway, we just have to make sure we're worshiping the one, the true and living god in spirit and in truth. Uh, so, and also, we, we did cover the second question because I, I wanted to know what was the difference, that that they felt or that they saw, even, um, you know, on this journey for christ and we're going to be ever learning all the time anyway, the scriptures says, uh, faith to faith, glory to glory. So we'll be like we even see where jesus, the son of god, grew in knowledge. So so, um, that's that's delicious within itself to me, because you, even you think about on a job, on a secular job, people want to get a job where they see where they can be growth or there could be opportunities for growth, and better and better. That's, and that's not, you know, that's not happenstance, because that's how, that's how we supposed to feel, that's how it's supposed to be in spirit. First, why? Because the scripture said we're gonna go, glory to glory, faith to faith. We supposed to be getting higher and higher and deeper and deeper, and we don't realize a lot of things about the secular world. It's really just they take their blueprint from the scripture. Yes, when we think about it.
Speaker 3:Okay, aunt Teneza said I'll have sin. She brought that scripture to us. It comes short of the glory of God. And she further explained it was because of Adam that sin was placed on us. You might not have even done anything, but the I'll have sin is because of Adam and we think about that. But she also said because of one man, we can come up out of that sin. We can come up out of that one, one by death and one by life. And you might say to yourself where do we see this in the secular world? Let's explore it. Let's think about basketball, let's think about life. And you might say to yourself where do we see this in the secular world? Let's explore it. Let's think about basketball, let's think about football. In the sports world most of the sports world let's just go to basketball.
Speaker 3:As long as you're on the team, your team win, you sharing and winning. You might not have dribbled the ball, you might have been a water boy. You might have been a water boy, you might have been on the bench sitting there. You might be out that season because something happened to you. But when that team wins, that win is dispersed among us all. We all get a ring. We all get a ring. We all get a ring we all share. You all get to be on the picture. You get to go down in history With your team Amen. So you know, we think this stuff be happening. It's just a blueprint Out of the Bible. We don't even think about it. You know what I'm saying. So, and that's another testament, I feel as to that God spot. And Even when people testament, I feel as to that God spot. And even when people Want to Come against the Bible and not believe it, you still, you still going right back to the word, your very existence is proof that God is real.
Speaker 3:At Jones said something about the universe. It's funny because I'm very fascinated now with um, with the solar system and in the galaxies and all these things, and I was talking to, uh, myron, I believe I can see that aintie. Aintie said she's going to Mars. I can see that I was talking to Myron one time and, like I said, we were all meant to worship and the scripture even say the heavens declared. The heavens declared and signs is finally Catching up the scripture say the stars sing Signs, is finally Catching up to where they've heard the sound, the actual sound that the stars make. You know what I'm saying. So that made me think about everything that made me just think about the creation, that made me think about the waves and I said well, what if every time the waves come in and out, that's just that hallelujah, that's just that.
Speaker 3:Hallelujah to the lord and look this scripture right there. You know, I just enjoy the word of God Coming alive, right? So I said the scriptures say Let everything that hath Praise ye the Lord. Right, and it made me think about the involuntary things that our body do. But you know, of course A relationship with God Is voluntary. You're receiving on your own. But again, we're talking about the creation part. I feel like every time we inhale and exhale, yes, that's a hallelujah, but of course you know we have to do it. But you understand what I mean, just anything. I feel like when the birds fly, that's their hallelujah and they ride. That invisible air.
Speaker 3:And signs can do everything they can to explain why it happens, you know, because your mind be curious, but I just feel like that's just they, hallelujah, and it makes me think. It makes me think right, it makes me think. When the scripture said we don't praise them, the rocks going to do it, that's right and I don't believe that's a far-fetched idea. I don't believe it's a far-fetched idea. I don't believe it's an impossible thing. That's right. I don't believe that it's not. We might think, oh, that's never going to happen. I we might think, oh, that's never Going to happen. I don't, I don't believe that, I ain't going to let it Happen for me anyway.
Speaker 3:But Right, I'm going to do it For myself. And it made me also Think, and I'm thinking About the rocks, I'm thinking about the solar system. Most of the planets Are rocks. We have some that are Made from galaxies, but it makes me Think about are made from galaxies, but it makes me think about the solar system, makes me think about, uh, the scripture that says that the angels go around the bottom and every time they come around they see another reason to say hallelujah. It makes me think about the solar system, about all the planets orbiting the sun. You know, it's just, it's just very all symbolic to me. It's symbolic to me, I feel like it's not happenstance at all, just the organization of everything the wind blowing Flowers, all these things that are out of our control. That was already there before we even got here.
Speaker 10:That's right, look at the beaches and the rivers. They do just what you said, but they can only come.
Speaker 3:So far, so far. They got to stop, they got to stop.
Speaker 10:They can do that.
Speaker 3:And there's visible bodies of water that do that. I can't think of the names of them, but you can actually see the line of where they meet. They got different color to them and everything, but you can see the line is clear and they doing, they being whatever, but they don't go past that line and they don't mix. They don't mix. It's just incredible, it's incredible.
Speaker 10:It's incredible. Since we're talking about souls and rocks, can we take it a little bit further?
Speaker 3:How God shows us, let's take it.
Speaker 10:He said I'm going to even cause the rocks To cry out to me. And you know, the song said Ain't no rock going to cry in my place, right? But let's take that a little bit further Than just the elements. What about the rocks that are so hard-hearted against God but one day they're going to say Lord forgive?
Speaker 3:me. Here it is.
Speaker 10:That's delicious People that we thought would never ever serve God.
Speaker 5:They are rocks. They are rocks. They're stony ground, stony, but God rocks. They are rocks, stony ground.
Speaker 10:Stony, but God touched the rocks so we got to you know.
Speaker 3:Stay in God, be in God, stay in God because the rocks are going to cry out the rocks are going to do it, that's right. Let's take it even a step further with this scripture Every knee going to bow Every knee. Every tongue shall confess that he is Lord. Every knee, every knee, every tongue shall confess that he is Lord. So the stony heart going to do it.
Speaker 3:You just got to do it in time, you got to do it before, because you're going to do it anyway, that's right, you're the ones and you see, you see in this scripture, right amen. Yes, around the throne, around the throne 24-7. And you see in this scripture, right Amen 24-7 24-7. There shall we ever be with the Lord Is what the scripture say. But every knee is on the bough, every tongue, and we see it even at the crucifixion. When all the things happen that the people realize, then yes, they realize right.
Speaker 3:They realize that he was the son of god. They realized it and and look at, look at jesus, he's such a people person and we know that that j Jesus is the express image of God. So we can say look at God, he's such a people person. He's on the cross, dying, being murdered, essentially Telling the Lord, still covering them, forgive me. He keeps proving the scripture over and over why we were sinners, why we his enemies.
Speaker 7:He loved us. He died for us.
Speaker 3:It's just so, it's so delicious, it's so beautiful. Right, we got to meet him. The Lord gave me this. We say you know we're going to pass away, but part of you Is going to live forever. Yes, the soul you just got to decide where. You just got to decide when you're going to live. Yes, and it's up to you. You can receive salvation yes. Be with the Lord forever, yes. Or you can resist, yes, and be somewhere that you don't want to be yes, be with the Lord forever. Yes, you can resist.
Speaker 3:Yes, and be somewhere that you don't want to be forever. Forever, Forever. I think about the converse. Auntie was able to share the gospel and share the good news with her family, Because that's what God is a family person. That's why family falls in our heart first. Even the man who's in hell cannot go back and tell my brothers.
Speaker 10:Yes, yes, lazarus.
Speaker 3:Even the one who was in hell. That was his first thought. His family, right, so they didn't have the experience, right, he didn't want them to experience that Right, right, but it's just delicious and I just thank God. I used to hear it when Right, right, but it's just delicious and I just thank God. I used to hear it when I was younger and they would say in testimony service, I just thank God for having the mind to serve Christ.
Speaker 3:Yes, our minds could be on everything, as we said tonight. Yes, I found out. My auntie's mind was on partying girl, my auntie out. My auntie's mind was on partying girl, my auntie, my other auntie. She says you turned 14.
Speaker 3:Yes, I'm, finna, hit another age of appropriate during this. I get to do this now so our minds can be everywhere. It's not necessarily on bad things, but if we that mind, we got to be thankful that that mind is on Jesus. I'm just so thankful and I've had, you know, being Like I said, being raised in church, being around it. My parents prayed for me, auntie's Whole family, grandma, prayed for us. But you have to have that encounter, yes, and you have to Receive it. So the, the seeds was planted For me. You know my parents and my family and that lady, she watered it real good when she said, when she talked about how sweet it was to her, and God got the increase.
Speaker 3:And I'm just thankful. I'm just so thankful and we have time. We have time, but we don't want to To take advantage of that time. That's why, and God can redeem the time, that's why but I mean, the time is now, the time is now. The time is now, yes, he can redeem that time. Yes, but the time is now. The time is now. Yes, you can redeem that time. Yes, but the time is now Because we never know. We never know when that time is up.
Speaker 10:That's right.
Speaker 3:So the time is now, the day you hear my voice, the day you hear it Harden out your heart yes and receive, and it only makes sense to receive a free gift. It's going to change your life forever?
Speaker 3:Yes, for the better. If I'm drowning, why would I not receive the gift of life from the lifeguard? Yes. If I'm hungry, why would I not receive the gift of food, the bread of life, bread of life? Yes. If I'm thirsty, why would I not receive the living water? Yes, you know. Yes, not receive the living water, you know. And when we realize all these things we be chasing, it's just a God void. It's just a void that can only be filled by God and he's ready to do it. Yeah, you can bank on it.
Speaker 10:He's ready to do it. And, ms Tree, you said something very important earlier. We talked about the woman at the well. Yes, ma'am, she came to draw water, but Jesus said I can give you some water, live, that you will never thirst again. Water. That can you know. And that's how she got excited. Amen. She forgot about the water pot.
Speaker 3:She ran to the city.
Speaker 3:She forgot about it, she said. She said the city thirsty too, right? She said well, what are you talking about? You ain't got nothing to get it with. We told her if you knew who you was talking to, right, right, but. And then we can do that, we can, we can miss it, right, we can miss it, right, but thank God, we realized what we were talking to, who we were talking to. Yes, even when Jesus came To the man who was, you know, when they had to get the healing by dipping into the water, which is symbolic yes.
Speaker 3:The pool of Bethesda. He walks right up On the man and asks him Do you want to be healed? Yes, the man said I don't have nobody to take me to the water. He had healing, standing right in front of him.
Speaker 10:And he didn't realize it. Did you notice that nobody ever put him in the water?
Speaker 3:Nobody ever put him in there. He didn't need to go in the water, he didn't. But he didn't realize At first. He didn't realize it. Just believe man, and he comes to us with what we need. But I enjoy reading the account of that girl who figured it out, the one with the issue of blood. Oh Lord, you don't even have to say nothing to me. I just got to touch you.
Speaker 7:If I could just touch you. Just got to encounter you.
Speaker 3:She had to bow down, she had to get down and crawl through that crowd, if you understand again, science is only catching up to, and we feel like these accounts sound impossible. Science is catching up. You deal with heavy bleeding. You get fatigued, yes, and science just gives you the name anemia. You'll be fatigued, yes.
Speaker 3:So here she is, giving up her life because they could have killed her. Yes, according to the law, she wasn't supposed to be around anybody. And let's bring this here. Think about the loneliness, as we've all said, we were lonely Twelve years by yourself, going to doctors and it only getting worse, depleting your money. So she said you know what I didn't do everything else. I'm finna, give up my life Right here and touch him. I'm gonna touch the finished works of Jesus. Yes, I like how you know. She figured it on out. She got a miracle. She got a miracle. And he Look what he says to her Everybody else. He told him You're healed, go and don't say nothing, you know depending on what era, but look what he's going around to tell her. He called her daughter your faith.
Speaker 10:Your faith.
Speaker 3:Has made you whole Daughter, daughter. That was a faith move.
Speaker 3:That was a faith move. It just testifies that whatever we need, he's, he's available, he's able to do it. He's able to do it, he's able to do it. We, and sometimes we, don't understand the miracle that salvation is, even if we don't see any of the other physical miracles that the miracle of salvation itself is. Yeah, it's beautiful.
Speaker 3:I enjoy, I enjoy being adopted into the building. I enjoy being a royal priesthood. I enjoy it. I enjoy being a son of God. I enjoy being a joint heir with Christ. Yes, amen, I enjoy being a joint With Christ. I enjoy being of incorruptible seed, something that Can't be destroyed. It's benefits, benefits. We have answered the final question. What will we say to the soul who is unturned? It's just too many benefits. Come to Jesus Just as you are. That's right. He's the answer. Yes, he's the answer. He's going to meet you, that's right. And we worry about trying to change and pretty ourselves up and get ourselves together. You can't do it. You can't do it, it's not of your works. And we worry about trying to change and pretty ourselves up and get ourselves together. What do we mean? You can't do it. You can't do it, it's not of your works, it's not empowering, and I think that's the beauty of it, that's a beautiful part of it, because we can't do it. He did it for us.
Speaker 3:He did it for us Amen. I feel like that's a beautiful thing. That's an amazing thing. What's his name? Hawkins? He asked the song it's Marvelous, it's Marvelous. What a marvelous thing you've done.
Speaker 4:Yes, yes.
Speaker 3:Such a marvelous thing, what a marvelous thing you've marvelous day. He got a lot of you done, changed. You changed my life complete, my life complete. It's come over me Now. He's trying to whisper. She's trying to whisper. She was singing.
Speaker 3:I have enjoyed this moment. I have enjoyed it. Thank you for your yeses. I feel like souls will be one to Christ For this episode and that's what we want and we did. You know, we did surface things Going to the club, drinking, whatever, whatever you've done. My mama used to tell me this is my mama and after being, think of the worst thing you feel like you can. You can do. Yes, multiply that times a million and you still mine. Amen, that's not her own concept. Yeah, amen, he's still mine. That's not her own concept. Yeah, that's the Christ I met. I met Christ in my parents. Right, that's him towards us. You can think of the worst thing you've done and he still desires relationship with you. We see that with Paul, paul is so clear. We see that with Paul, paul was clear. We see that with Paul, paul was killing Christians searching them out.
Speaker 3:Searching them out killing them and girls. He didn't care. And look at the difference when he has an encounter with the real, with God, and God used him in the most mighty way, in a mighty way. So if he uses power who was killing Christians to become a Christian, he can use you. He can change your life for the better. And what lets us know how ruthless power was? When the people brought him around, they were scared. They were like y'all sure about this.
Speaker 7:This, paul, we're scared, they were scared, that's why.
Speaker 3:I say I enjoy the Bible recording People's honesty, because I'm sure I would have been like Nah, who got this word? Because Not up in here. Who got this word? Where's Peter? Cut this man's ear off Because we got to have Some type of. He got to show me Something real. Yeah, was this Paul, but yeah, that Paul. He changed his life and he writes Three fourths of the New Testament. This Paul, but yeah, that Paul. He changed his life and he writes three-fourths of the New Testament. Writes three-fourths of it.
Speaker 3:Paul in there singing praises of God and bust up the prison doors and stand and leave. That man say if you leave, I'm just gonna go on and kill myself, they gonna kill me. Paul told him if you leave, I'm just going to go on and kill myself, they're going to kill me. Paul told him. Man put that suit on. We're still here.
Speaker 10:We're still here. What about the? You know, I was thinking we was talking as teachers. I think it was me and Miss Hopper and another teacher about the children, the ones that we think that just can't do it and we'll push them to the corner. But God will pick up that one that you pushed over there, like you said with Paul, and he'll dust them off and clean them up and use them.
Speaker 3:That's that stone I was going to say that's that stone, that's that stone that the builders rejected. So that's a lesson too. That's how we know we can't push people away. We can't decide who God is going to save. We can't turn our noses up at them. We don't know. We don't know who he's going to use. If he can use a donkey, he didn't do it to us when he cut out easily, just for the all have seen alone.
Speaker 1:Just for what we were born into Just for that.
Speaker 3:But even then he had a plan to rescue us from the banana. Even then it was always his plan, before the foundation of the world. He knew it. It was always his plan to rescue. It was always his plan to fix it. Yes, he knew it.
Speaker 5:It was always his plan to rescue.
Speaker 3:Yes, it was always his plan to fix it. Yes, yes, it was always his plan to do it.
Speaker 10:Ms Tree, talk about Elijah and Elisha. Because he thought he was, you know, when he got in that cave and he thought he was done because what Jezebel was killing all the prophets? Yes, but God told him. He said I still got it that has not bowed.
Speaker 1:You're right.
Speaker 10:But, even further. He began to talk to him even more. He said I got somebody that you're going to have to minister to that. You're going to have to minister to Minister to A mentor?
Speaker 3:Yeah, there'd be a lead yeah. Elisha, elisha, elisha. Yes, he was going to have to do it.
Speaker 10:Like get on out of here what you doing up here.
Speaker 7:I ain't doing what you did.
Speaker 3:Right, right. Yeah, it was one of them. He just wanted to die. Yes, the Lord said here, eat a little bit and take a nap. You know you're going to feel better. But that takes us to to Elisha too, though, when he was with the, the servant and the servant you know. They woke up. Whatever came at the temple and the servant saw all. They were surrounded by an army and.
Speaker 3:Elisha tell them look, we're surrounded. They're surrounded by by our people. He told the Lord open his eyes so he can see. Open his eyes, open his eyes so he can see. And so look at what would have been missed if Elijah had to just remember his feelings and then follow the word of the Lord.
Speaker 3:We see it all the time. There's so many things to come out of that. I often think about you know he been long gone. I often think about the young prophet who the Lord had told when he do what he needed to do, don't go the same way. Don't eat in nobody's house, none of that. When he do what he needed to do, don't go the same way, don't eat in nobody's house, none of that.
Speaker 3:And he got turned around by who he thought was a voice from God, a prophet, an older prophet, private, lied to him. He came to the house and ate. Then the spirit of the living God came on him and said because you did this, you're going to die. And you know, look, what could have been avoided. You know, we hear the word of the Lord. We have to run with that and whatever voice comes against that, whether we feel like they're mighty in God or not, if it disagrees, if it disagrees with what the word says, god be true, he said try the spirit by the spirit.
Speaker 3:But we just we have to follow. I even think about Paul too. When he was zealous, you know, he was new and the Lord had told him not to go to that city and even the people that was with him was telling him man, paul, don't do that. Paul went and got beat down. He almost got killed Right Because he didn't listen. He didn't listen. Because he didn't listen.
Speaker 3:Oh, God but you know, we just have to hear the Holy Spirit and we have to believe. You know, believe what he says and what he's telling us, no matter what we feel like, will be the better decision, because you could have just kept saying, well, I'm just going to keep resisting that, I'm just. You know, I'm going to do what I'm doing or whatever. But thank God, you received yes. And a lot of times we think what we're doing in the world is so much more fun than being in Christ. But the joy of the Lord is our strength. It's unexplainable and the scripture is true.
Speaker 3:Unspeakable joy. It's unexplainable. I have a lot of times when people they do, and even when it's temporary. Temporary.
Speaker 9:But the joy of the Lord is eternal.
Speaker 3:It's eternal, it's eternal, it's eternal.
Speaker 7:Yes God.
Speaker 3:It's just time out for temporary things.
Speaker 4:Yes, it is Time out for temporary things, a lot of mothers, parents, they need to think about that, and their children, they need to think about that, and their children, they need to serve the Lord and get their children in church with them Not going to church and leaving your children at home, taking them with you. And to know that it'll save their life. It will save their life.
Speaker 7:Yes, yes, it will save their life. Yes, amen, you know we took our children to church. Yes so did.
Speaker 4:And we taught them the Word of God and we introduced them, we lived the life before them Right, right. And so God, he saved them, he saved you all. Yes. And he's keeping you all.
Speaker 1:Yes, it might have strayed away, but God in.
Speaker 4:God's own time you will come back, baby. You're going to come and serve the Lord, no matter what the devil think. What hole he think he got on them.
Speaker 10:Thank you.
Speaker 4:Jesus, but you will serve the Lord, because that's what you've been taught.
Speaker 6:Yes.
Speaker 4:And it's going to be there and he promised us that he would keep. He was going to. He's saving us. He's saving us right now. He saved us now. He's still being continuously saved. It's just something we just can't do it without the Lord. That's right. We can't do it. No way, just can't do it without the Lord.
Speaker 10:We can't do it no way.
Speaker 3:We can't do it without Him, and we don't have to. That's the beauty of it. That's the beauty of it.
Speaker 10:We got a mighty God.
Speaker 3:Yeah, more than enough. He's not an exclusive God, he's an inclusive God.
Speaker 1:Yes, Scripture is clear.
Speaker 3:Incluse. That doesn't exclude anybody Right, come unto me. Oh, you did a labor, every labor. Come unto me, I'll give you rest. I'll give you rest, and if we think about it we'd be tired.
Speaker 10:Yes.
Speaker 3:We'd be doing all those things and you're thinking it's joy, but you'd be tired. Your soul would be tired, yeah, your mind would be tired. Yeah, your mind would be tired. And you really get peace of mind when it comes. Even with challenges, you have peace of mind. And then you have brothers and sisters in Christ who are steady, you know, speaking words of life to you, and the word is in there. So he's going to come up. Whether you want it to or not, he's going to come up and to get you out of that, you just have to receive that benefit of it. Right, you have to receive it. But I have enjoyed this moment with my aunties, with my mama, and not only are they sisters in the natural, but they are sisters in Christ, which is the most important part. I feel like my uncle's going to be jealous. Might have to bring him in, you know.
Speaker 10:We're going to do them next.
Speaker 3:I feel like they're going to be a little jelly, I know.
Speaker 3:I'm going to hear from Uncle Thomas. He's going to tell me he's going to hug me, he's going to slide it in. I heard you had your aunties on there, yes, but I thank God for the mighty work that he has done tonight and the seeds that have been sown, and I thank him that those seeds will be watered and I thank him that he will Get the increase. I hope that you To God be the glory For all the things. We speaking it in advance and we want to congratulate those right, that's right, yes who have received. Yes, do you want to, auntie joyce, lead them in the prayer of repentance and the scripture that shows them how to receive holy Spirit and how they received the Lord in their lives?
Speaker 9:Amen. You know, I thank God. All we have to do tonight those that need the Lord in their lives just believe that he came and he died. But God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believ it in him should not perish. If we just come believing and accepting what christ did on the cross for our sins, we can be saved. Tonight, and we ask god to come into our lives, make us new. Take away the sin, yes, take away the trials, the tribulations, the things that we have to deal with that are bounding us, that are keeping us from serving him.
