Rob Conti | DNOW | Saturday Morning
Kingdoms and governments will come and go in this world but only God’s kingdom will last forever. God is the one who sets up kingdoms, and He holds all authority and power over them. In this session, Rob teaches about King Nebekenezer who set up an idol for all people to worship. He wanted an eternal kingdom to rule and reign in the place of God. The people had to worship this idol or they’d be thrown into the furnace.
But Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stood firm and did not bow.
Even if God didn’t save them from the fire, they resolved not to defile themselves by worshipping this idol. Do you take the Gospel that seriously? Are you taking ownership of your faith? They trusted God with the outcome of their lives. His plan for you is better than your plan for you.
There is no real risk when we’re faithful to God. God was in the fire with them and protected them. Nothing in this life can separate us from the love of God. This world that wants to distract you and make you bow down. Instead, stand firm and pursue Christ.
