Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day. Good morning. Today is Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Please join me in praying the morning offering prayer and prayers for our Holy Father. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of your sacred heart, in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the holy intentions of the Holy Father this month, amen. Prayers for the Holy Father Almighty and everlasting God, have mercy upon thy servant, Pope Leo XV, our Supreme Pontiff, and direct him according to thy loving kindness in the way of eternal salvation, that of thy gift he may ever desire that which is pleasing unto thee, and may accomplish it with all his might, through Christ our Lord, amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Quote from Saint Margaret Mary Allocoke Would that I could exhaust myself in acts of thanksgiving and gratitude towards this divine heart for the great favor he shows us, in deigning to accept our help to make him known, loved, and honored. He reserves infinite blessings for all those who devote themselves to this work. Meditation of the Day an excerpt from Spiritual Combat How to Win Your Spiritual Battles and Attain Inner Peace by Lorenzo Scupoli Pages two hundred and six and two hundred and seven. And in order that you may know the better how to guard yourself against the wiles of the enemy, make it a certain rule in this case that every thought that discourages you and lessens your love and confidence towards God is a messenger from hell, and therefore to be driven away and banished from your presence without an audience. For the office of the Holy Spirit is none other than always to unite the soul on all opportunities more and more closely with God, in kindling and inflaming it with his sweet love, and with fresh confidence in him, whereas the work of the devil ever points in the opposite direction and consists in the employment of all means in his power, such as inordinate fear, exaggeration of our natural weakness, and scruples as to the dispositions for confession, communion, or prayer, so that by these suggestions he may render us distrustful, fearful, and restless. The absence of warm feelings in our devotions, of delight in our prayers and other exercises, he uses as an opportunity for producing impatient sadness, construing it into a sign that all is lost, into a reason for discontinuing our spiritual exercises, and finally into a ground for despair, so that, do what we will, we think it will be in vain and fruitless. Thus sadness and fear go on increasing until we imagine that we are forgotten by God. But this is not the truth, for innumerable benefits are derived from dryness and the absence of devotional feelings, if only we understood what God by these means would work in us, provided we on our part would exercise patience and persevere in well doing to the best of our power. And that I may make this more clear to you, and that the great advantages that God wills to bestow upon you may not, through your want of perception, tend to your hurt, I will briefly state the blessings of humble perseverance in these dry devotions, so that, bearing these in mind, you may not lose your inner peace. When you suffer from this dryness of spirit and oppression of heart in consequence of lack of sweetness and consolation and devotion, or of any other temptation, however horrible it may be. Many blessings come to the soul through bitterness and dryness of spirit, when it is received with humility and patience. If we understood this, doubtless when we were visited in this way, we would be less disturbed and afflicted by it, because we would regard it not as a token of our Lord's hatred, but rather of his great and special love, and we would receive it as a signal grace that he conferred upon us. Scripture verse of the day but love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be great, and you will be children of the most high, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as your heavenly father is merciful. Luke chapter 6, verses 35 through 36. Saint of the day. The saint of the day for November 26th is Saint John Birchmans. Saint John Birchmans lived between 1599 and 1621. He was born in Flanders, Belgium, the eldest of five children of a shoemaker. He was a virtuous and well-liked child who would often rise early to serve at two or three masses a day before he reached the age of seven. On Friday evenings he had a custom of making the stations of the cross outdoors while barefoot. When he was nine years old, his mother suffered from a long and terrible illness, and John faithfully attended her bedside until she died. As a pious young person devoted to the things of God, he enrolled in a Jesuit college where he was known for being an energetic and outgoing student with great academic potential and leadership qualities. He also joined the Society of the Blessed Virgin and prayed her office daily. He discerned a vocation to the religious life and began priestly formation as a Jesuit. His way of holiness was to perform his ordinary duties with extraordinary fidelity and perfection, even in the smallest details, believing that if I do not become a saint when I am young, I shall never become one. He died tragically of a fever at the age of twenty two while studying for the seminary in Rome. Many miracles were attributed to him after his death. Saint John Birchman's is the patron saint of altar servers and young people. Saint John Birchman's Pray for us. Readings for Holy Mass for Wednesday of the thirty fourth or last week in ordinary time. A reading from the Book of the Prophet Daniel, chapter five verses one through six, thirteen through fourteen, sixteen through seventeen, and twenty three through twenty eight. King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his lords, with whom he drank. Under the influence of the wine he ordered the gold and silver vessels which Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem to be brought in so that the king, his lords, his wives, and his entertainers might drink from them. When the gold and silver vessels taken from the house of God in Jerusalem had been brought in, and while the king, his lords, his wives, and his entertainers were drinking wine from them, they praised their gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone. Suddenly, opposite the lampstand, the fingers of a human hand appeared, writing on the plaster of the wall in the king's palace. When the king saw the wrist and hand that wrote, his face blanched, his thoughts terrified him, his hip joints shook, and his knees knocked. Then Daniel was brought into the presence of the king. The king asked him, Are you the Daniel, the Jewish exile whom my father the king brought from Judah? I have heard that the Spirit of God is in you, that you possess brilliant knowledge and extraordinary wisdom. I have heard that you can interpret dreams and solve difficulties. If you are able to read the writing and tell me what it means, you shall be clothed in purple, wear a gold collar about your neck, and be third in the government of the kingdom. Daniel answered the king, You may keep your gifts or give your presents to someone else, but the writing I will read for you, O king, and tell you what it means. You have rebelled against the Lord of heaven, you had the vessels of his temple brought before you, so that you and your nobles, your wives, and your entertainers might drink wine from them, and you praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, that neither see nor hear nor have intelligence. But the God in whose hand is your life breath and the whole course of your life you did not glorify. By him were the wrist and hand sent, and the writing set down. This is the writing that was inscribed Mina, Tekl and Paris. These words mean Mine, God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it. Tekl, you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting. Paris, your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians The Word of the Lord Responsorial Psalm Daniel chapter three. Give glory and eternal praise to Him. Sun and Moon bless the Lord, praise and exalt him above all forever. Give glory and eternal praise to him. Stars of heaven bless the Lord, praise and exalt him above all forever. Give glory and eternal praise to him. Every shower and dew bless the Lord, praise and exalt him above all forever. Give glory and eternal praise to him. All you winds bless the Lord, praise and exalt him above all forever. Give glory and eternal praise to him. Fire and heat bless the Lord, praise and exalt him above all forever. Give glory and eternal praise to him. Cold and chill bless the Lord, praise and exalt him above all forever. Give glory and eternal praise to him. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke chapter twenty one verses twelve through nineteen. Jesus said to the crowd, They will seize and persecute you, they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons, and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name. It will lead to your giving testimony. Remember, you are not to prepare your defence beforehand, for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute. You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but not a hair on your head will be destroyed. By your perseverance you will secure your lives. The Gospel of the Lord Prayer of Spiritual Communion In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen. Morning Glory Consecration Prayer. Mary, my mother, I give myself totally to you as your possession and property. Please make of me, of all that I am and have, whatever most pleases you. Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for bringing the greatest possible glory to God. Amen. Prayer to Saint Joseph. O glorious Saint Joseph, chosen by God to be the guardian of the Holy Family, whose protection is so great, so strong, in union with the Blessed Virgin Mary and our Savior Jesus Christ, send down from heaven a blessing from God to protect us from any harm, strengthen us in body, soul, and spirit. We ask this through thy powerful intercession. Holy Family, pray for us, amen. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my mother, to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. Act of Faith. O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man, died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because you have revealed them who can neither deceive nor be deceived. In this faith I intend to live and die. Amen. Act of hope. O my God, relying on your almighty power, infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of your grace, and the life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen. Act of love. O my God, I love you above all things with my whole heart and soul, because you are all good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen. Prayer for the poor souls in purgatory. O gentle heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in purgatory, have mercy on them. Be not severe in thy judgment, but let some drops of thy precious blood fall upon the devouring flames. Merciful Savior, send thy angels to conduct them to a place of refreshment, light, and peace. Amen. Act of resignation to the divine will. O Lord my God, from this moment do I accept from thy hands with burning love and sincere contrition, with a calm and willing disposition, whatsoever death thou shalt choose to send me with its pains and griefs. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day.
