Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day. Good morning. Today is Monday, february ninth, 2026. Please join me in praying the morning offering prayer and prayers for our Holy Father. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of your sacred heart, in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the holy intentions of the Holy Father this month, amen. Prayers for the Holy Father Almighty and everlasting God, have mercy upon thy servant, Pope Leo XV, our Supreme Pontiff, and direct him according to thy loving kindness in the way of eternal salvation, that of thy gift he may ever desire that which is pleasing unto thee, and may accomplish it with all his might, through Christ our Lord, amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. A person who does nothing more than lovingly pray to God for his brethren, participates in the great work of saving souls. Practicing conformity to the will of God in spiritual favors. Finally, and this is perhaps the most difficult aspect of what concerns the practice of conformity to the will of God, we should desire virtue itself and the degrees of grace only insofar as God wishes to give them and not desire more. Our whole ambition should be to attain the degree of perfection that has been appointed for us, since it has not been given to everybody to reach the same height. It is obvious that however well we may correspond with the graces given us, we can never equal the humility, charity, and other virtues of the Blessed Virgin. And who can even presume to imagine that he can reach the same heights as the apostles? Who can equal Saint John the Baptist, whom Christ called the greatest of the children of men? Or Saint Joseph, to whom God entrusted his son? In this we must, as in all else, submit to the will of God. He must be able to say of us, My will is in them. It rules and governs everything. So when we hear or read that God in a short time has brought some souls to a very high degree of perfection and shown them signal favors, enlightened their understanding and imbued their hearts with his love, we should repress any desire to be treated likewise, so as not to fall short in pure love of conformity to his will. We should even unite ourselves still more closely to his will by saying, I praise thee, O Lord, and bless thee for deigning to show thyself with so great love and familiarity to the souls thou hast chosen. The honor you show them is above all measure, but the accomplishment of thy holy will is of more concern to me than all the marks of favor thou hast shown thy saints. The only favour I ask is that in no single thing should I ever do my own will, and that my will be entirely at one with thine. Let others ask for what they wish, but my sole request is that I may wish what thou wishest, and thy purposes may be accomplished perfectly in me. Do with me, in me, and by me all that thou wilt without resistance from me in time and in eternity. Scripture verse of the day But this one offered one sacrifice for sins and took his seat forever at the right hand of God. Now he waits until his enemies are made his footstool, for by one offering he has made perfect forever those who are being consecrated. Hebrews chapter ten verses twelve fourteen. Saint of the Day The Saint of the Day for february ninth is Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich. Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich lived between seventeen seventy four and eighteen twenty four. She was born in Germany to a devout peasant family. From a young age she received divine knowledge imparted to her through extremely detailed visions of the lives of Jesus, the Virgin Mary, and the saints. As a child, her guardian angel often appeared to her and Jesus himself visited her while she was tending sheep. The suffering souls in purgatory often called upon her assistance to offer prayers and penances on their behalf. At the age of twenty eight, after many years of longing for the religious life, Anne Catherine entered the novitiate with the Augustinians. She devoted her life to waging a spiritual battle for suffering souls, and in her great charity she accepted extreme physical, yet supernatural sufferings, which ultimately left her bedridden. The strange phenomena of physical suffering for the spiritual condition of other souls was not always accepted by others, and she endured much ridicule due to the astonishing manner in which her experiences displayed themselves. Her daily visions gave her special insight into the spiritual realm which have been recorded into now popular books and were used to discover what is believed to be the house of Mary in Ephesus. Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, pray for us. Devotion of the Month February is the month of the Passion of Our Lord. The month of February is traditionally dedicated to the Passion of Our Lord in anticipation of the liturgical season of Lent. In this month we begin to meditate on the mystery of Jesus' sufferings, which culminated in his death on the cross for the redemption of mankind. Saints who had a special devotion to Christ's Passion include Saint Francis of Assisi, who was the first known saint to receive the stigmata, Saint John of the Cross, Saint Bridget of Sweden, and Saint Catherine of Sienna. Readings for Holy Mass for Monday of the fifth week in ordinary time. A reading from the first book of Kings, chapter eight, verses one through seven and nine through thirteen. The elders of Israel and all the leaders of the tribes, the princes and the ancestral houses of the children of Israel, came to King Solomon in Jerusalem to bring up the Ark of the Lord's covenant from the city of David, which is Zion. All the people of Israel assembled before King Solomon during the festival in the month of Ephanim, the seventh month. When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the priests took up the ark, they carried the Ark of the Lord and the meeting tent with all the sacred vessels that were in the tent. The priests and Levites carried them. King Solomon and the entire community of Israel, present for the occasion, sacrificed before the ark, sheep and oxen too many to number or count. The priests brought the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord to its place beneath the wings of the cherubim in the sanctuary, the holy of holies of the temple. The cherubim had their wings spread out over the place of the ark, sheltering the ark and its poles from above. There was nothing in the ark but the two stone tablets which Moses had put there at Horeb when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel at their departure from the land of Egypt. When the priests left the holy place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord, so that the priests could no longer minister because of the cloud, since the Lord's glory had filled the temple of the Lord. Then Solomon said, The Lord intends to dwell in the dark cloud, I have truly built you a princely house, a dwelling where you may abide forever. The word of the Lord Responsorial Psalm, Psalm one hundred thirty two. Lord, go up to the place of your rest. Behold, we heard of it in Ephra. We found it in the fields of Jaar. Let us enter into his dwelling, let us worship at his footstool. Lord, go up to the place of your rest. Advance, O Lord, to your resting place, you and the Ark of Your Majesty. May your priests be clothed with justice. Let your faithful ones shout merrily for joy, for the sake of David your servant, reject not the plea of your anointed. Lord, go up to the place of your rest. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark, chapter six verses fifty three through fifty six. After making the crossing to the other side of the sea, Jesus and his disciples came to land at Generaset and tied up there. As they were leaving the boat, people immediately recognized him. They scurried about the surrounding country and began to bring in the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak, and as many as touched it were healed. The Gospel of the Lord. Prayer of Spiritual Communion In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen. Morning Glory Consecration Prayer. Mary, my mother, I give myself totally to you as your possession and property. Please make of me, of all that I am and have, whatever most pleases you. Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for bringing the greatest possible glory to God. Amen. Prayer to Saint Joseph. O glorious Saint Joseph, chosen by God to be the guardian of the Holy Family, whose protection is so great, so strong, in union with the Blessed Virgin Mary and our Savior Jesus Christ, send down from heaven a blessing from God to protect us from any harm, strengthen us in body, soul, and spirit. We ask this through thy powerful intercession. Holy Family, pray for us, amen. Guardian Angel Prayer O angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side to light and guard, to rule and guide, amen. Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel. Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl throughout the world, seeking the ruin of souls, amen. The three Hail Mary's Devotion The first Hail Mary, in honor of God the Father. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. O my mother, preserve my soul from mortal sin during this day. Amen. Memori to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my mother, to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. Act of Faith. O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man, died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because you have revealed them who can neither deceive nor be deceived. In this faith I intend to live and die. Amen. Act of hope. O my God, relying on your almighty power, infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of your grace, and the life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen. Act of love. O my God, I love you above all things with my whole heart and soul, because you are all good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen. Prayer for the poor souls in purgatory. O gentle heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in purgatory, have mercy on them. Be not severe in thy judgment, but let some drops of thy precious blood fall upon the devouring flames. Merciful Savior, send thy angels to conduct them to a place of refreshment, light, and peace. Amen. Act of resignation to the divine will. O Lord my God, from this moment do I accept from thy hands with burning love and sincere contrition, with a calm and willing disposition, whatsoever death thou shalt choose to send me with its pains and griefs.
