Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day. Good morning. Today is Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. Please join me in praying the morning offering prayer and prayers for our Holy Father. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of your sacred heart, in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the holy intentions of the Holy Father this month, amen. Prayers for the Holy Father Almighty and everlasting God, have mercy upon thy servant, Pope Leo XV, our Supreme Pontiff, and direct him according to thy loving kindness in the way of eternal salvation, that of thy gift he may ever desire that which is pleasing unto thee, and may accomplish it with all his might, through Christ our Lord, amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Quote from Saint Thomas Aquinas Human salvation demands the divine disclosure of truths surpassing reason Meditation of the Day The Athanasian Creed Whoever wishes to be saved must, above all, keep the Catholic faith, for unless a person keeps this faith whole and entire, he will undoubtedly be lost forever. This is what the Catholic faith teaches we worship one God in the Trinity and the Trinity in unity, neither confounding the persons nor dividing the substance. For there is one person of the Father, another of the Son, another of the Holy Ghost. But the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost have one divinity, equal glory, and co eternal majesty. What the Father is, the Son is and the Holy Ghost is. The Father is uncreated, the Son is uncreated, and the Holy Ghost is uncreated. The Father is boundless, the Son is boundless, and the Holy Ghost is boundless. The Father is eternal, the Son is eternal, and the Holy Ghost is eternal. Nevertheless there are not three eternal beings, but one eternal being. So there are not three uncreated beings, nor three boundless beings, but one uncreated being and one boundless being. Likewise, the Father is omnipotent, the Son is omnipotent, the Holy Ghost is omnipotent. Yet there are not three omnipotent beings, but one omnipotent being. Thus the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God. However, there are not three gods but one God. The Father is Lord, the Son is Lord, and the Holy Ghost is Lord. However, there are not three Lords, but one Lord, for as we are obliged by Christian truth to acknowledge every person singly to be God and Lord, so too are we forbidden by the Catholic religion to say that there are three gods or lords. The Father was not made, nor created, nor generated by anyone. The Son is not made nor created, but begotten by the Father alone. The Holy Ghost is not made, nor created, nor generated, but proceeds from the Father and the Son. There is then one Father, not three fathers, one Son, not three sons, one Holy Ghost, not three Holy Ghosts. In this Trinity there is nothing before or after, nothing greater or less, the entire three persons are co eternal and co equal with one another. So that in all things, as has been said above, the unity is to be worshipped in Trinity and the Trinity in unity. He therefore who wishes to be saved must believe thus about the Trinity. It is also necessary for eternal salvation that he believes steadfastly in the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. As God he was begotten of the substance of the Father before time. As man he was born in time of the substance of his mother. He is perfect God, and he is perfect man, with a rational soul and human flesh. He is equal to the Father in his divinity, but inferior to the Father in His humanity. Although he is God and man, he is not two but one Christ. And he is one, not because his divinity was changed into flesh, but because his humanity was assumed unto God. He is one, not by a mingling of substances, but by unity of person. As a rational soul and flesh are one man, so God and man are one Christ. He died for our salvation, descended into hell, and rose from the dead on the third day. He ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from there he shall come to judge the living and the dead. At his coming all men are to arise with their own bodies, and they are to give an account of their own deeds. Those who have done good deeds will go into eternal life, those who have done evil will go into the everlasting fire. This is the Catholic faith. Everyone must believe it firmly and steadfastly, otherwise he cannot be saved. Amen. Scripture verse of the day. But I say to you that listen, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. Give to everyone who begs from you, and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. Do to others as you would have them do to you. Luke chapter six verses twenty seven through thirty one. Saint of the Day. The saint of the day from May 2nd is Saint Athanasius of Alexandria. Saint Athanasius lived between 296 and 373 AD. He was born in Alexandria, Egypt, to noble Christian parents. He received an excellent education in theology, philosophy, rhetoric, and law, which he directed to the service of God. He made great progress in both wisdom and virtue and made a spiritual retreat in the Egyptian desert with Saint Anthony the Great. Saint Athanasius became the bishop of Alexandria and served in that role for forty-six years. He tirelessly and courageously devoted most of his life to defeating the Aryan heresy, which denied the divinity of Christ. When the majority of his fellow bishops were Aryan heretics, which threatened the integrity of the whole church, Athanasius stood firmly and almost single handedly against their error, using his philosophical knowledge, theological wisdom, rhetorical skill, and strength of spirit. Despite having the support of several popes, he suffered great trials, scandals, and persecutions at the hands of his doctrinal enemies, and spent much of his life in exile. He was a participant in the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD and did much of the theological work which supported the condemnation of the Aryan heresy and the formulation of the Nicene Creed. Saint Athanasius is known as one of the greatest champions of Catholic doctrine to have ever lived, earning the title Father of Orthodoxy. Saint Athanasius was later declared a doctor of the Church. Saint Athanasius, pray for us. Readings for Holy Mass for Saturday of the fourth week of Easter. A reading from the Acts of the Apostles, chapter 13, verses 44 through 52. On the following Sabbath, almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and with violent abuse contradicted what Paul said. Both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first, but since you reject it and condemn yourselves as unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. For so the Lord has commanded us, I have made you a light to the Gentiles, that you may be an instrument of salvation to the ends of the earth. The Gentiles were delighted when they heard this and glorified the word of the Lord. All who were destined for eternal life came to believe, and the word of the Lord continued to spread through the whole region. The Jews, however, incited the women of prominence who were worshippers and the leading men of the city, and they stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their territory. So they shook the dust from their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium. The disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit. The word of the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done wondrous deeds, his right hand has won victory for him, his holy arm. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God. The Lord has made his salvation known. In the sight of the nations he has revealed his justice, he has remembered his kindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation by our God. Sing joyfully to the Lord all you lands, break into song, sing praise. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John, chapter fourteen verses seven through fourteen. Jesus said to his disciples, If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him. Philip said to Jesus, Master, show us the Father, that will be enough for us. Jesus said to him, Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, Show us the Father? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe because of the works themselves. Amen, amen, I say to you, Whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father, and whatever you ask in my name I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it. The Gospel of the Lord. Prayer of Spiritual Communion In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen. Morning Glory Consecration Prayer. Mary, my mother, I give myself totally to you as your possession and property. Please make of me, of all that I am and have, whatever most pleases you. Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for bringing the greatest possible glory to God. Amen. Prayer to Saint Joseph. O glorious Saint Joseph, chosen by God to be the guardian of the Holy Family, whose protection is so great, so strong, in union with the Blessed Virgin Mary and our Savior Jesus Christ, send down from heaven a blessing from God to protect us from any harm, strengthen us in body, soul, and spirit. We ask this through thy powerful intercession. Holy Family, pray for us, amen. Guardian Angel Prayer O angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side to light and guard, to rule and guide, amen. Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel. Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl throughout the world, seeking the ruin of souls, amen. The three Hail Mary's Devotion The first Hail Mary, in honor of God the Father, Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. O my mother, preserve my soul from mortal sin during this day. Amen. Memori to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my mother, to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. Act of Faith. O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man, died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because you have revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. In this faith I intend to live and die. Amen. Act of hope. O my God, relying on your almighty power, infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of your grace, and the life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen. Act of love. O my God, I love you above all things with my whole heart and soul, because you are all good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen. Prayer for the poor souls in purgatory. O gentle heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in purgatory, have mercy on them. Be not severe in thy judgment, but let some drops of thy precious blood fall upon the devouring flames. Merciful Savior, send thy angels to conduct them to a place of refreshment, light, and peace. Amen. Act of resignation to the divine will. O Lord my God, from this moment do I accept from thy hands with burning love and sincere contrition, with a calm and willing disposition, whatsoever death thou shalt choose to send me with its pains and griefs. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day.
