Sigal Atzmon, Founder & CEO of Medix Global: Optimizing quality healthcare in India

Sigal is passionate about and committed to ensuring Medix offers people around the world innovative and advanced medical management solutions that really make a difference in their lives. She is in India to execute the next phase of growth, which begins with the launch of the Medix app “a few weeks from now”.

Medix helps Sigal in her mission to flatten the healthcare-inequality curve through a combination of Personal Medical Case Management offering fast track solutions to the right diagnosis and treatment; Disease Prevention Management Services to help customers avoid the development of major diseases, and Medical Governance Services to prevent misuse and overuse of medical procedures – significantly, Sigal tells me that the Medix services prevent misuse and overuse of medical procedures across 20% of all cases. 

Medix also provides Digital Health- and AI-based tools to streamline and optimize quality healthcare.

Before she founded Medix, Sigal held diverse management roles in the finance and investment sector including, as Head of the Global Institutional Investments Division at Ofek Securities & Investments; as Head of the International Trading & Investments Division at FIBI, a Safra Bank. She also headed the Private Banking Division at UMB, managing a portfolio of upwards of USD4bn.

So here’s Sigal Atzmon, Founder and CEO, Medix Global, as my distinguished guest on this episode of MVP – The Master’s Voice Podcast. We speak about what Medix offers to Indians, its pan-India and not 6-major-metros focus,  the  USPs of Medix vis a vis other global telehealth providers, the business model of Medix, her assessment of the Healthcare space in India and why, even during a pandemic-enforced lockdown, she championed and enabled the opening of the Medix office in India. Medix was launched in 2020 in India, during the pandemic, and Sigal tells me what Day One of the India office told her about the quality of the professional talent in India her HR team had assembled.

Sigal tells me Medix has been dedicated to energizing Indian Healthcare through its value proposition to patients, hospitals, doctors and the whole healthcare system in India given the scarcity of doctors, the high out-of-pocket costs, and the low penetration of health insurance. She also tells me about Medix’s tie-up  with TATA AIA in India to provide Medix’ services to their customers.

Sigal also speaks about the entire tech platform that Medix invested in and owns for uninterrupted services and top-level data and privacy protection. And how Medix is marketed to its TGs, and that Medix hosted the Digital Health Innovation Challenge in India, which focused on Disruptive Local Start-ups in 2021.
