No, no, no. The truth is.
Rich Bennett 1:00
Today on conversations with Rich Bennett. We have an extraordinary guest, Frank Healy. Frank is one of only about 100 people in the world, and I hope I pronounce this right with hypothermia.
Frank Healy 1:13
That's.
Rich Bennett 1:14
Okay. Meaning he could remember every single day of his life since the age of six. From the day of the week to the weather person or events. World news. His memory is like a living archive. But with this incredible ability comes challenges. He not only remembers events, but also relives the emotions attached to them. Frank has turned his experiences into a mission. Becoming a licensed professional counselor to help others heal from trauma, anxiety and stress. He's also the author of over 20 books 20, including The Heal Your Memories Trilogy and his late Know Your latest is.
Frank Healy 2:02
Happier for.
Rich Bennett 2:03
Yeah. Not stress free success.
Frank Healy 2:06
Yeah, that was that was August of 23.
Rich Bennett 2:09
Okay. Yeah. Happy, everyday. Simple steps to a life of fulfillment, then. Frank, welcome. How's it going?
Frank Healy 2:17
It's a pleasure to be here.
Rich Bennett 2:20
Oh, no. The pleasure's all mine. I am. I got to admit, I've never had anyone on. That has. Let me try it. Don't. Don't tell me. Hyper times. You.
Frank Healy 2:35
That's right.
Rich Bennett 2:37
All right. Well, I did say it right. Okay. Actually, I want to I want to start with your incredible memory. When did you first realize that your memory was different from others?
Frank Healy 2:49
Well, it started when around this time of year, 59 years ago and 66 I was. From school for a week with the chicken pox and.
Rich Bennett 3:00
Oh,
Frank Healy 3:00
Here. I don't know if there's a correlation here that that helped
Rich Bennett 3:05
yeah.
Frank Healy 3:06
to develop my memory, but a little joke there. But, you know, it happened by Uncle Billy down the street, had just given me a calendar for that year and not able to do much else being sick, even be up playing with toys much. I, I looked at each block and the whole calendar a little at a time and I pictured and played the coming on theme in my head for what would be on primetime TV that night. So so that by the end of that week, I had the entire year of 1966 memorized.
Rich Bennett 3:44
No way.
Frank Healy 3:46
It's.
Rich Bennett 3:48
Holy cow. I saw 66. What was the biggest TV series then?
Frank Healy 3:54
Well, Batman was on both Wednesday and Thursday nights. Saturday night you had Flipper Fridays, the Green Hornet and.
Yes.
Rich Bennett 4:05
They don't make TV shows like that anymore.
Frank Healy 4:10
And then who could forget on Monday is the monk. Well, that actually that came a little later in the year. The Monkees. that Davy Jones and Mike Nesmith had the same birthday, December 30th.
Rich Bennett 4:24
Really? I didn't even knew that.
A Kirby for the then Mike Nesmith is she's still alive. I know Micky Dolenz.
Frank Healy 4:33
Yeah. I think he's the only one that's still alive. No, it's not. The Dolans are still alive.
Rich Bennett 4:39
Yeah. Okay. Okay.
Frank Healy 4:40
He was Well, he'll actually who actually turned 80 tomorrow.
Rich Bennett 4:46
So with the hypothermia, how has that shaped your personal and professional life? The challenges and the good things
Frank Healy 4:55
Well, it's been over the years. I've turned it into mostly a blessing. But the
Rich Bennett 5:01
Good.
Frank Healy 5:02
the curse part of it was that not only do I remember the good stuff, like good times on vacations and with friends, not only my first kiss, but every.
Rich Bennett 5:13
Right.
Frank Healy 5:14
And all. But I also remember her bad days at work. Losing jobs, romantic break ups. And I got interested in psychology because I wanted to be able to.
Like, I know I'm never going to let go of all these memories. So I wanted to be able to let go of the emotions from the bad memories and keep the emotions from the good. So.
Rich Bennett 5:42
Was it a challenge in school? Because you could remember everything,
Frank Healy 5:46
Well, it's interesting. There was even good and bad with that, certainly to Captain Obvious that I had no trouble memorizing information, but
Rich Bennett 5:56
right?
Frank Healy 5:57
the drawback to it was it was often hard to pay attention in school because I have so many facts and figures going on in my head that it was hard to pay attention sometimes to what was going on right in front of me.
Rich Bennett 6:13
So with it, did they actually determine if it was from the chicken pox or anything?
Frank Healy 6:20
Now, what they found was I was I was studied at the University of California.
Rich Bennett 6:28
Mm hmm.
Frank Healy 6:28
And in Irvine, and among other things they did was a CAT scan the brain and they found out that, you know, myself and a few other people who who have this, they found that parts of our frontal lobes are almost twice the size of the average person's.
Rich Bennett 6:50
Wow.
Frank Healy 6:52
So I
Rich Bennett 6:55
I'll
Frank Healy 6:56
then the brain world, I would be a good basketball player.
Rich Bennett 7:01
look.
So in your for your job, what is it that you do again?
Frank Healy 7:09
Well,
Rich Bennett 7:09
Mm
Frank Healy 7:10
with all that I won, all that I went through and learned about psychology. I'm actually a therapist.
Rich Bennett 7:16
Okay. Therapist.
Frank Healy 7:17
You. I help people with depression, anxiety, stress management, and I do couples and families.
Rich Bennett 7:27
What? As a matter of fact. Yeah, that's right. Because you did send me. You sent me your book. Stress free success. What What was it that made you decide to write the books, especially? I think this is those of you listening. Especially of those of you that work get this stress free success. It's like. It's almost like a workbook, right?
Frank Healy 7:55
Yes, it has all kinds of techniques
de-stress yourself, such as breathing in meditation techniques, journaling. And it also includes ways to set goals and how to go after your goals. The idea behind that was that a lot of people work hard and achieve their goals, but their work can be very stressed doing that. Another.
Rich Bennett 8:19
Right.
Frank Healy 8:19
All might meditate and do yoga and all, but and they don't have that much stress, but then they don't accomplish much. So I thought I wanted to merge the two and see how you can in a lot of workplaces today. There's that expression work life balance. So it's important to learn how to keep your stress down while you work hard and go after what? And we'll go after your goals. And even just doing well at work and doing well with your family.
Rich Bennett 8:52
So are all your books like guidebooks and workbooks, or is there any have you written any novels or anything?
Frank Healy 8:58
I wrote a novel that was published in 2020. The Unquiet say it's about I live in the Jersey Shore area and.
Rich Bennett 9:09
Oh, dear. Right up the road, baby. Yeah.
Frank Healy 9:13
Go. Huh? So it's about a man with a memory like mine who's a psychologist, and he sees patients in his beachfront house and he's engaged to a really wonderful woman. So he seems to have it all. But during a week in August of 2011, everything is threatened in his life. Hurricane Irene and everything in that book is historically. Accurate. Hurricane
Rich Bennett 9:43
Right.
Frank Healy 9:44
Irene might demolish his house and he hears of a lawsuit that a young female patient might sue him for allegedly inappropriate, literally touching her. And then as his fiancee gets cold feet because of that lawsuit and it's like everything. And that's how he resolves everything. Because, you know, I never even that good novel, just like a movie. There has to be some tension and a problem and and then they have to either come out of it or don't come out of it. So then a series of events happens and yeah, they.
Rich Bennett 10:21
Ooh.
Frank Healy 10:23
Well, I shouldn't tell the ending. So, people.
Rich Bennett 10:25
No, don't tell the. So that's. That's the unquiet sea.
Frank Healy 10:29
Yes, that's right.
Rich Bennett 10:31
And actually so over 20 book law, that's a lot of books. When did you start writing?
Frank Healy 10:37
I started writing in 2007, I wanted to have a memoir about what it was like having a memory like mine. And so that was my first book. And I realized that in 2018, after I knew more about writing ten, I published a few books to make it more. You know, more readable. I taken courses and learned about writing, and so that was my first. And then the Heal Your Memories series, a trilogy of self-help. They combine many true, many stories of people who overcame some trauma but are now happy and thriving, includes things like school or workplace bullying, rape on the streets, growing up in a war zone and all different career sidelining injury and stuff. So it's kind of and how they overcame it. That's part of them. And the other part are exercises the reader can do to overcome the emotional effects of their own bad memories.
Rich Bennett 11:44
So do you actually go speak at any events or anything?
Frank Healy 11:49
Well, I've done book signings before and.
Rich Bennett 11:52
Right.
Frank Healy 11:52
I do a lot of podcasts like this one and
Rich Bennett 11:56
Smart.
Frank Healy 11:57
have done.
Yeah. So I, I do put myself out there probably when I retire in a couple of years, I'll probably do more speaking engagements.
Rich Bennett 12:10
And I hope more writing.
Frank Healy 12:11
Oh, yes. More writing with more.
Rich Bennett 12:13
So when you since you got the bug and started writing how over 20 books. Good Lord. How often is it because you're self-published, right?
Frank Healy 12:26
Right? That's right.
Rich Bennett 12:27
So how often are you trying to put out a new book each time?
Frank Healy 12:31
Well, sometimes I'll put three or four out a year and sometimes I'll go for a couple of years without pub, without putting one out. But I'm still writing them and a lot of my writing comes when I'm doing other things and then I just get it down on the word pad or
Rich Bennett 12:49
Mm hmm.
Frank Healy 12:49
and then writing. So. So I could be taking a walk on the beach and come up with an idea or driving and stuff. So. So it's no, I just get it down. And so that was and this year I'm trying to publish at least six books more with.
Rich Bennett 13:13
I take it they're not novels.
Frank Healy 13:14
They won't be novels.
Rich Bennett 13:15
Okay?
Frank Healy 13:16
For short reads of anything, the 10 to 20000 words. So they're going to be short or because I mean, that seems to be the trend for today.
Rich Bennett 13:27
Yeah.
Frank Healy 13:27
People are so busy they don't have time to read a lot. So short books sell a lot these days.
Rich Bennett 13:34
Actually any plans on turning any of them into audio form?
Frank Healy 13:40
Well, they are. Yeah. Some of my books, the ones that Amazon will allow, like I. Now
Rich Bennett 13:47
Right.
Frank Healy 13:48
heal your memories, Trent. Change your life. Insulin audio book for.
Rich Bennett 13:51
Okay.
Frank Healy 13:53
And the others are happy. Every day is my newest one.
Rich Bennett 13:56
Oh. Now, do you do the reading for that or the narration, I guess the voice for that or is somebody else doing it.
Frank Healy 14:06
Now somebody else does a.
Rich Bennett 14:09
Why did you do it?
Frank Healy 14:10
Time.
Rich Bennett 14:12
But yeah, never mind.
Frank Healy 14:13
Yeah, because, I mean, I could do it because I've done a lot of speaking in my life, so I.
Rich Bennett 14:18
Right.
Frank Healy 14:18
Do it, but it's, you know, people are. Oh, well.
Rich Bennett 14:23
And how.
Frank Healy 14:24
And get paid for it. So.
Rich Bennett 14:26
How much longer to you retire?
Frank Healy 14:29
Well, probably be 2 to 2 and a half years because.
Rich Bennett 14:33
Two. Two and a half. You.
Frank Healy 14:33
I'll be 65 in May. So I want to, even though I plan to keep writing and doing all, I want to get to that. My wife has pretty much wants me to at least go to that next level of Social Security work.
Rich Bennett 14:48
Right? Oh, yeah.
Frank Healy 14:50
67.
Rich Bennett 14:52
Oh, I hope I don't get in trouble for this. But this. I have to ask you this. So with your wife. How long you been married?
Frank Healy 15:03
15 and a half
Rich Bennett 15:05
Okay. Because, you know, once in a while there are those arguments and the spouse will say, well, no, you forgot to do this. How many times does your wife get upset because you remember. Exactly. It's a you're you are correct.
Frank Healy 15:24
Well, it's funny you should mention that, because coincidentally, my first book, Living with a Phenomenal Memory, came out the day before our first day back in October of 2007.
Rich Bennett 15:38
Oh, wow.
Frank Healy 15:38
So she told me right from the get go. I am not to cough up that dates that we had arguments and disagreements.
Rich Bennett 15:51
goes, how hard was that?
Frank Healy 15:55
Well being so self-absorbed with facts and figures. When I was a kid, I was very quiet. But by high school and college, I realized if I don't open up more, I'm going to miss out on some good times in life and when I survive. I mean, I consider myself we've probably all heard of introvert and extrovert. Well.
Rich Bennett 16:19
Hmm. Hmm.
Frank Healy 16:20
third category called the name before, where
Rich Bennett 16:23
Hmm.
Frank Healy 16:23
sometimes you get real sociable. Other times you need to be alone. And I think I'm one of those.
Rich Bennett 16:31
I never heard that term.
Frank Healy 16:32
Yeah, it's just beginning to be on blogs and stuff. It's. But they've discovered, like, I could go for a whole weekend visiting people and going to parties, but then.
Rich Bennett 16:46
Right.
Frank Healy 16:47
I could do that. But then if I if I have days where I'm not doing that much, that's okay, too.
Rich Bennett 16:55
So with your line of work, then you see all these different people every day, right?
Frank Healy 17:01
Right.
Rich Bennett 17:05
How does that affect your mental wellness? Because you're hearing their problems and these sometimes these are things that you don't you can't forget.
Frank Healy 17:13
Yeah.
Rich Bennett 17:14
But at the same time,
you're remembering a lot of the things that which can help them as well. So how does that really affect your work or does it?
Frank Healy 17:26
What does affected in both in both of those ways like.
Rich Bennett 17:30
Mm hmm.
Frank Healy 17:30
I, i, I have no trouble coming up with examples for clients of how somebody overcame what you're going through so you can to like
Rich Bennett 17:42
Right.
Frank Healy 17:42
that's the good part and mild as far as when I first started working in the counseling field August of 88 during a record heat wave and you know, I decided from day one that one thing I will not and it was in the psychosis but all and I decided one thing I will not do is take the job home with me.
Rich Bennett 18:06
That had to be hard,
Frank Healy 18:08
Yeah it did took a lot of will well and effort and
Rich Bennett 18:13
right?
Frank Healy 18:13
you know but I taught myself at least maybe a thought of a client or pop into my head, but. And now, you know nowadays with some of my clients are telehealth, so I have to think about them afterward when I'm writing the note. But I said I'm never going to lie awake at night worrying about clients or trying to. So it's like they give I give them 100% of my attention when they're in my office. And once I'm done, the No. Okay, not going to think about them. That one until next. Until their next session.
Rich Bennett 18:52
Which is why you were able to write that one book with no problem. Stress free success. And I'm sure you use some of those exercises yourself, right?
Frank Healy 18:59
Yes, I do a lot of the breathing exercises and in the morning I journal gratitude and plans for the day and different things. So you know would be it's only fair that I do the I do the stuff the exercises myself.
Rich Bennett 19:19
This your book here. So I'm reading another book right now. This can go hand hand with it. I believe
so. And I'm sure you probably heard of the book I'm reading. It was written in
1928, I believe, by Napoleon Hill called The Law of Success.
Frank Healy 19:39
Oh, yeah, that's right.
Rich Bennett 19:41
But I mean, I'm reading. And then I looked at your book and I was gloomy. It's like this goes hand in hand,
I think, because one of the and everybody knows any type of career has stress with it.
Frank Healy 19:56
Yes, that's right.
Rich Bennett 19:57
And all the stuff that you have listed in here definitely helps to help you be even more successful.
Frank Healy 20:05
Right?
Rich Bennett 20:06
Things that I'm sure Napoleon Hill didn't know at the time.
Frank Healy 20:09
Yeah.
Rich Bennett 20:10
But actually with with this, the stress free success. How was that book accepted? Have you talked to people that have. Because to me, anybody that owns a business, this is something they should buy for all their employees. I believe.
Frank Healy 20:26
Yes. I'm hoping as time goes on to to talk I mean, to talk to targeted at people in businesses and CEOs for them to order for their order in bulk for their employees and and maybe even hold you know, I could do well now I could probably do it virtually. But after I retire, I could go places and teach it to people.
Rich Bennett 20:53
Absolutely. And I would even. Because, I mean, you have the website. If somehow or another after you retire, of course we have more time. Even do online workshops.
Frank Healy 21:02
Oh, yes. That's that is pardon the pun. That is in the works. Oh.
Rich Bennett 21:07
Oh, it is.
Frank Healy 21:08
Yeah. And play plan to do more than this and a couple of my other books I, I plan to create create online classes for.
Rich Bennett 21:19
All right. Any other surprises for me here, Frank? I mean, come on now.
Wow, that is great. And the thing is,
it's I mean, we talk about work. It's great for work, but I also for relations ships, I think even for more kids in school, in college. Because we know it's that can be stressful as well.
Oh. Have
thought about sending a copy to, like, your local police department or fire department? Because know they're under a lot of stress
Frank Healy 22:05
Well.
Rich Bennett 22:05
right
Frank Healy 22:06
Well, that's a good that's a good idea. And I know that that would be a good idea because I now have I've had enough clients who are police and fire that I know.
Rich Bennett 22:17
now.
Frank Healy 22:17
You just it's a little like the military. You don't discuss problems there. You don't. And you just
Rich Bennett 22:23
Mm
Frank Healy 22:23
do the job and get it done and leave. Leave all your problems at home. But,
Rich Bennett 22:31
hmm.
Frank Healy 22:31
you know, they could really use that and not well, not to be professional here, but ah, I I'm Facebook friends with some of the Phillies and the Eagles and well, the Eagles don't need that. I mean, after the winning. I send it to some of the Phillies and thought this would be good for you. Got men to get last year's playoffs out of your head and have a fresh start and going in distress to every game and.
Rich Bennett 23:04
I'm glad the Eagles won.
Frank Healy 23:06
Yes.
Rich Bennett 23:06
So glad
Frank Healy 23:07
Yes.
Rich Bennett 23:09
now Pittsburgh would have winning. Maybe not. I'm sorry if I got any friends in Pittsburgh. I'm sorry, but you know Ravens. Hey, can I help?
Oh, yeah. When I saw that, it's like, Oh, Frank. didn't even watch it. Well, heard it the next day. I was like, The Eagles won.
Yes. Sweet.
Frank Healy 23:32
Yeah. And they didn't. They won a convincing win. It wasn't close. They just decimated.
Rich Bennett 23:37
Oh.
Frank Healy 23:38
Chiefs.
Rich Bennett 23:39
Yeah. And then they tore down the town, so. Are you sure? With your work and everything.
Now that you're an entrepreneur, too, what do you actually do in your free time? Do you have free time?
Frank Healy 23:55
Yes. Yes, I do have free time.
Rich Bennett 23:57
Okay.
Frank Healy 23:59
You go. I go to the beach and I lie. I used to play quiz and sing karaoke, but a lot of the friends, a lot of friends I had that I did that with either moved or unfortunately died. But if I get a group for that, so I'll go to the beach and have a read on my free time. And my wife and I pretty much keep busy with family get togethers to.
Rich Bennett 24:32
All right. I have to ask you, what is show?
Frank Healy 24:34
Well, it's a game. It's been a year now. It's more called trivia. Where? Teams in the bar and they do trivia questions maybe about music, sports, history and stuff.
Rich Bennett 24:46
Now, wait a minute, Frank. I think you have a big advantage there.
Frank Healy 24:51
Well, yes, our team. Our team. Usually one whenever I play. Bragg. But yeah.
Rich Bennett 24:57
Maybe you should host those instead.
Frank Healy 25:01
No, that is an idea.
Rich Bennett 25:05
All right. So have you ever come down to Maryland? I don't do trivia night, but if you come down in Maryland, let me know. And I will go to trivia night and have you all my team.
Frank Healy 25:13
Oh, all right.
Rich Bennett 25:17
I'm only good at the music part and maybe TV, but I. Other than that, I know nothing else I can really do. That I can think of. All right. So why? Because I know you're writing another book. Probably, right?
Frank Healy 25:35
Yes, I'm writing a book on stoic philosophy.
That's an and if anyone listening has the wrong idea that's stoics are not people who walk around like robots and don't have feelings of stoic philosophy. It's actually similar to the happy everyday thing. It's about feeling okay no matter what's going on in your life, controlling your emotions internally.
Rich Bennett 26:04
Huh?
Now, how. How long have you been working on that one?
Frank Healy 26:10
Well, it's. I just started. I started about a month and a half ago. And now. Now it's being edited and going to be.
Rich Bennett 26:20
Oh, good Lord.
Frank Healy 26:20
Other than.
Rich Bennett 26:23
How many pages?
Frank Healy 26:25
Well, that's a short read. I told me that since I'm only going to be 30 some pages.
Rich Bennett 26:31
Oh, okay.
Frank Healy 26:32
It's now the quiet say was 300 something pages. But and that took me a couple of years to write.
Rich Bennett 26:42
Right.
Frank Healy 26:43
But this these shorter reads can be can be done pretty quickly.
Rich Bennett 26:48
In your book Happy Every Day. Actually, it correct me if I'm wrong, it focuses on maintaining happiness. on weekends of vacations. Right. So why do people actually struggle with this? And what solutions do you offer?
Frank Healy 27:03
Well, it's kind of like they might judge their everyday life as being not so great. And
Rich Bennett 27:09
hmm.
Frank Healy 27:09
so it's about changing your thoughts so that if you find things you like or you're grateful for, then your everyday life and some of its relaxation techniques similar to stress free success. That's the whole idea of being, you know, being a happy person in general. Sure, weekends and vacations are nice, but
Rich Bennett 27:33
Right.
Frank Healy 27:34
I think I always believe that you've really mastered your life when you can be happy with your everyday life.
Rich Bennett 27:42
Now your books, because they're not all listed on your website, Right.
Frank Healy 27:48
No, not all of them. They're all listed on my off their central and Amazon.
Rich Bennett 27:53
Okay. I have to ask you something, Frank, because I'm looking at your website. I'm hope I'm on the right site. Haley's Healing dotcom, Right.
Frank Healy 28:02
Right.
Rich Bennett 28:03
Okay. Is that Marilu Henner standing with you?
Frank Healy 28:07
Yes, it is.
I saw her August 31st, 2013, at the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, PA. She was starring in the show there. And I had made Facebook friends with her manager. And so then I got to come and eat lunch with her gang and then see her in the show and then pose for pictures.
Rich Bennett 28:35
I. Is it true that everybody says she's prettier in person than she is on TV? Yeah.
Frank Healy 28:39
Well yeah she's she's just as dynamic and and flamboyant on she's. Yeah. I mean that day I was it was kind of like I was scheduled to be with she and her gang now.
Rich Bennett 28:53
Right.
Frank Healy 28:53
In June of last year, June 9th of last year, I went and saw in another play at the same place and she was kind of guarded of her time. I chatted with her grandson for a minute that they were in a rush to get to it, to get to a dinner reservation between the matinee and the night show.
Rich Bennett 29:13
Right.
Frank Healy 29:13
But. She's. Very nice and very flamboyant in everyday life, too.
Rich Bennett 29:22
Are you sure on your Web site because you had the newsletter. Now, is your newsletter weekly or is
Frank Healy 29:28
That's
Rich Bennett 29:28
that month?
Frank Healy 29:29
monthly. There'll be a new issue coming out any day now.
Rich Bennett 29:33
Ah, And what kind of things are in your newsletter?
Frank Healy 29:36
Well, things that are sometimes a little synopsis of my books, like what I used to do is interview people other than who are in my Heal Your Memories books about their overcoming problems. Now I'm writing more articles that sort of give you an idea of what my books are about. Like last month I had two two hour articles about being happy every day and this month might be a continuation of that. But but also on stoicism and how you can benefit from it.
Rich Bennett 30:14
Oh, okay. I'm definitely signing up for that. And I'm surprised you don't have a blog on it, though.
Frank Healy 30:22
A blog.
Rich Bennett 30:23
Yeah.
Frank Healy 30:24
Yes. Well, that's something
Rich Bennett 30:26
Time.
Frank Healy 30:27
that I mean, that's that's something I would like to get going.
Rich Bennett 30:31
Yeah. I and you mentioned something here when you're interviewing people. Any thoughts? Of course, when you retire of actually starting your own podcast.
Frank Healy 30:46
Yes, I thought of that too, on and off, because I'm getting the experience as now being a guest.
Rich Bennett 30:52
Yeah.
Frank Healy 30:52
On places. And that could be something in addition to DOE.
Rich Bennett 30:56
I think it'd be a great podcast.
Frank Healy 30:58
Oh, yes, I would.
Rich Bennett 31:00
I mean, it doesn't have to be that long. It could be sure. It could be just let's see, we have to think of a term. HILLY isms.
Frank Healy 31:12
Oh, there we
Rich Bennett 31:12
Just
Frank Healy 31:12
go.
Rich Bennett 31:15
the phrase is you can put it out, too, to just make everybody's day, you know?
Frank Healy 31:20
There would get.
Rich Bennett 31:22
I said before I get to my last question. Actually, all listen again. Make sure you go to Hailey's healing dotcom. And if you go on to Amazon, just go and I'll have all the links show notes. But if you look for Frank Healy under authors, you'll find them and you can find all of his books. But those of you definitely get his new book without a doubt, which is God. It went out when I hit that quick. Oh, happy every day. Happy every day. Get all of his books but happy every day. And this one stress free success. I'm telling you, people, it's it's going to make a difference. The thing is, the stuff you have in your book, we talk about all the time on this show and there's some additional additional things in there that we don't talk about. But when I first looked at, I saw journaling. I talk about journaling all the time, but I haven't been doing it. And I finally picked some journals. I got them on my nightstand because most of my ideas come when I'm sleeping, but the meditation is key
these leaving for review on Amazon, good reads.
Frank Healy 32:43
Please.
Rich Bennett 32:44
Whatever. All of all the platforms. So is there anything you would like to add before I get to my last question?
Frank Healy 32:53
Well, I just like to say that, I mean, my all of my books are meant toward helping people live better. I mean, we're bombarded with so much information these days that I you know, they all come up in my books on emotional intelligence and are there. And I do have one that's only available on Kindle and memory improvement. So, you know, definitely check out my website and there's a free eBook. You can download my memoir or that you can download for free if you get on my mailing list. And you know, I'm so deaf. So definitely, you know, I'm there to help anybody that I can.
Rich Bennett 33:41
Right. Good. I so this question actually comes from one of my listeners. It's from Sydney, who's actually been on the podcast a couple of times. I think this is the perfect question for you. What was one of your biggest learning moments, both personally and professionally?
Frank Healy 34:02
Well, I think,
boy, there have been so many of them. Like that's why. Yeah, yes. Me with my condition here is like lots of learning moments. I think there was, you know, when I when my first book came out, I was naive enough to think it was so unique and great. It would be an instant bestseller. So then I started learning how to. So then I started, you know, taking courses and being in groups of authors, learning really how to author and market. That was a big one and.
And there was a while there was a really kind of nasty incident my freshman year in college where I pledged a fraternity and but I was kind of shy and I was overweight then and did not get in. Of course, I came right back the next semester, semester and got in unanimously. But I thought, I've got to start improving my social skills and parents and everything. So because a lot of times all of a sudden learning memories are learning mode, Teachable moments are when things don't go our way. We learn what we must, what we really could benefit from improving.
Rich Bennett 35:23
Wow. That was a great answer. I'm. My listeners are coming up with some great questions I ask them in the in the Facebook group submit questions and except for my son he comes up with some goofy question. That's another story. Frank, I want to thank you so much. And I love what you're doing with the books because you're getting out there and you're talking about them.
Frank Healy 35:49
Yeah, that's true.
Rich Bennett 35:50
Something authors need to do. And you mentioned something else that you're doing, a writers group. And I think a lot more authors need to do that because they're there to help you. They can critique your books or your manuscripts before they become a book.
I think you're one of your next books you need to come up with is how to write a book. And then you could do a whole series, how to write a book, how to publish a book, how to market the book.
Frank Healy 36:18
Okay.
Rich Bennett 36:20
I think you know what? And next thing I know, you'll be doing a book on how to start a podcast.
Frank Healy 36:25
Yeah. There you go.
Rich Bennett 36:28
Frank, thanks so much.
Frank Healy 36:30
Yeah. Have a good a good day. And it was a pleasure being on.
Rich Bennett 36:34
The thanks.
