As far"},{"startTime":158.9,"endTime":162.53,"body":"as zoom, you can reach"},{"startTime":158.9,"endTime":162.53,"body":"out to Sherri, how does"},{"startTime":162.53,"endTime":168.26,"body":"all of this background coaching"},{"startTime":162.53,"endTime":168.26,"body":"entrepreneurs, how does this relate"},{"startTime":168.26,"endTime":168.95,"body":"to truck driving?"},{"startTime":169.88,"endTime":174.65,"body":"It's really an interesting thing"},{"startTime":169.88,"endTime":174.65,"body":"because through my experiences in"},{"startTime":174.65,"endTime":176.96,"body":"working with people, one of"},{"startTime":174.65,"endTime":176.96,"body":"the things that started to"},{"startTime":176.96,"endTime":180.88,"body":"float to the surface was"},{"startTime":176.96,"endTime":180.88,"body":"realizing the impacts on a"},{"startTime":180.88,"endTime":187.09,"body":"daily basis of people with"},{"startTime":180.88,"endTime":187.09,"body":"ADHD quite often undiagnosed. And"},{"startTime":187.09,"endTime":189.37,"body":"one of the really big"},{"startTime":187.09,"endTime":189.37,"body":"areas of impact was around"},{"startTime":189.37,"endTime":194.11,"body":"their driving. And interestingly enough,"},{"startTime":189.37,"endTime":194.11,"body":"the choice to become a"},{"startTime":194.11,"endTime":198.7,"body":"truck driver or any industry"},{"startTime":194.11,"endTime":198.7,"body":"really where it's a more"},{"startTime":198.7,"endTime":202.99,"body":"of a isolated type job,"},{"startTime":198.7,"endTime":202.99,"body":"you do have a tendency"},{"startTime":202.99,"endTime":206.38,"body":"to see a higher rate"},{"startTime":202.99,"endTime":206.38,"body":"of people who have ADHD"},{"startTime":206.38,"endTime":209.32,"body":"traits. And so I'll give"},{"startTime":206.38,"endTime":209.32,"body":"you an example of some"},{"startTime":209.32,"endTime":211.52,"body":"of those that might sort"},{"startTime":209.32,"endTime":211.52,"body":"of help to clarify that,"},{"startTime":211.54,"endTime":211.72,"body":"right?"},{"startTime":211.99,"endTime":215.95,"body":"So ADHD is a difference"},{"startTime":211.99,"endTime":215.95,"body":"in the way that our"},{"startTime":215.95,"endTime":220.9,"body":"brain is wired. We call"},{"startTime":215.95,"endTime":220.9,"body":"it neuro-diversity where there's ADHD."},{"startTime":220.96,"endTime":225.79,"body":"Oh, thank you. It is"},{"startTime":220.96,"endTime":225.79,"body":"a combination of three things"},{"startTime":225.79,"endTime":232.24,"body":"or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder."},{"startTime":225.79,"endTime":232.24,"body":"And it's characterized by either"},{"startTime":232.24,"endTime":235.9,"body":"an inattentive type, a hyperactive"},{"startTime":232.24,"endTime":235.9,"body":"type or a combination of"},{"startTime":235.9,"endTime":236.29,"body":"the two,"},{"startTime":237.93,"endTime":244.02,"body":"An inattentive truck driver might"},{"startTime":237.93,"endTime":244.02,"body":"be a pro here and"},{"startTime":244.02,"endTime":245.04,"body":"inattentive director."},{"startTime":245.13,"endTime":247.77,"body":"That would definitely be a"},{"startTime":245.13,"endTime":247.77,"body":"problem. But so two would"},{"startTime":247.77,"endTime":252.06,"body":"somebody who was hyperactive. Yeah."},{"startTime":247.77,"endTime":252.06,"body":"So if we kind of"},{"startTime":252.06,"endTime":254.97,"body":"look at those two traits,"},{"startTime":252.06,"endTime":254.97,"body":"a little bit, inattentive really"},{"startTime":254.97,"endTime":257.91,"body":"talks about the inability to"},{"startTime":254.97,"endTime":257.91,"body":"stay focused on a particular"},{"startTime":257.91,"endTime":262.47,"body":"thing. For a period of"},{"startTime":257.91,"endTime":262.47,"body":"time. I personally I'm ADHD,"},{"startTime":262.62,"endTime":265.59,"body":"primarily an inattentive type, but"},{"startTime":262.62,"endTime":265.59,"body":"I do experience some of"},{"startTime":265.59,"endTime":274.86,"body":"the hyperactivity traits that inattentive"},{"startTime":265.59,"endTime":274.86,"body":"is oftentimes to have difficulty."},{"startTime":274.86,"endTime":276.87,"body":"Maybe I'm having a conversation"},{"startTime":274.86,"endTime":276.87,"body":"with you and you're telling"},{"startTime":276.87,"endTime":280.23,"body":"me something really important and"},{"startTime":276.87,"endTime":280.23,"body":"I'm hearing the words, but"},{"startTime":280.23,"endTime":283.8,"body":"they're not really processing in"},{"startTime":280.23,"endTime":283.8,"body":"my brain. And so now"},{"startTime":283.83,"endTime":286.65,"body":"five seconds later, I've completely"},{"startTime":283.83,"endTime":286.65,"body":"forgotten what you said to"},{"startTime":286.65,"endTime":286.86,"body":"me."},{"startTime":287.78,"endTime":287.85,"body":"Yeah,"},{"startTime":287.88,"endTime":288.75,"body":"It's not happening, but"},{"startTime":292.38,"endTime":295.86,"body":"So that's one of the"},{"startTime":292.38,"endTime":295.86,"body":"really big challenges. And so"},{"startTime":295.86,"endTime":297.75,"body":"when it comes to having"},{"startTime":295.86,"endTime":297.75,"body":"to stay focused on a"},{"startTime":297.75,"endTime":301.98,"body":"particular task or consistently follow"},{"startTime":297.75,"endTime":301.98,"body":"a structured way of doing"},{"startTime":301.98,"endTime":304.8,"body":"things, it can be a"},{"startTime":301.98,"endTime":304.8,"body":"little bit troublesome. So of"},{"startTime":304.8,"endTime":308.55,"body":"course doing you're driving. Now,"},{"startTime":304.8,"endTime":308.55,"body":"I will say that I"},{"startTime":308.55,"endTime":310.32,"body":"did actually at one time"},{"startTime":308.55,"endTime":310.32,"body":"have my B license. I"},{"startTime":310.32,"endTime":313.17,"body":"did drive a school bus"},{"startTime":310.32,"endTime":313.17,"body":"many, many, many years ago"},{"startTime":313.86,"endTime":317.46,"body":"when my 21 year old"},{"startTime":313.86,"endTime":317.46,"body":"was a baby. And so"},{"startTime":317.46,"endTime":321.75,"body":"I'm familiar with the circle"},{"startTime":317.46,"endTime":321.75,"body":"check process and some concepts"},{"startTime":321.75,"endTime":324.57,"body":"around that, but I'm also"},{"startTime":321.75,"endTime":324.57,"body":"aware because my dad was"},{"startTime":324.57,"endTime":327.81,"body":"a truck driver as well."},{"startTime":324.57,"endTime":327.81,"body":"So I have some familiarity"},{"startTime":327.81,"endTime":332.37,"body":"around the industry as a"},{"startTime":327.81,"endTime":332.37,"body":"person who's driving a vehicle,"},{"startTime":332.37,"endTime":336.15,"body":"that's that large, knowing that"},{"startTime":332.37,"endTime":336.15,"body":"right from circle check, where"},{"startTime":336.15,"endTime":337.92,"body":"you need to make sure"},{"startTime":336.15,"endTime":337.92,"body":"that you get every single"},{"startTime":337.92,"endTime":339.09,"body":"one of those details."},{"startTime":339.3,"endTime":342.39,"body":"That can be a little"},{"startTime":339.3,"endTime":342.39,"body":"bit difficult. It's hard for"},{"startTime":342.39,"endTime":345.03,"body":"me to stay focused on"},{"startTime":342.39,"endTime":345.03,"body":"every single step, along the"},{"startTime":345.03,"endTime":348.84,"body":"way and not miss them"},{"startTime":345.03,"endTime":348.84,"body":"sometimes. So for me to"},{"startTime":348.84,"endTime":351.06,"body":"make sure that I have"},{"startTime":348.84,"endTime":351.06,"body":"systems in place, but if"},{"startTime":351.06,"endTime":352.59,"body":"someone came up and spoke"},{"startTime":351.06,"endTime":352.59,"body":"to me in the middle"},{"startTime":352.59,"endTime":353.04,"body":"of my circle,"},{"startTime":353.61,"endTime":358.13,"body":"Ugh, I have to start"},{"startTime":353.61,"endTime":358.13,"body":"all over from the beginning."},{"startTime":358.55,"endTime":360.98,"body":"And it may not be"},{"startTime":358.55,"endTime":360.98,"body":"so pronounced for some people."},{"startTime":360.98,"endTime":363.26,"body":"They may notice it a"},{"startTime":360.98,"endTime":363.26,"body":"little bit, but not recognize"},{"startTime":363.26,"endTime":365.72,"body":"what it is. There's a"},{"startTime":363.26,"endTime":365.72,"body":"train of thought and it's"},{"startTime":365.72,"endTime":369.71,"body":"suddenly interrupted and they don't"},{"startTime":365.72,"endTime":369.71,"body":"realize that that's happening. My"},{"startTime":369.71,"endTime":372.8,"body":"worst one is I realized"},{"startTime":369.71,"endTime":372.8,"body":"I need to do something,"},{"startTime":373.1,"endTime":374.75,"body":"pick my phone up to"},{"startTime":373.1,"endTime":374.75,"body":"do it. But I noticed"},{"startTime":374.75,"endTime":378.35,"body":"there's a notification on there."},{"startTime":374.75,"endTime":378.35,"body":"If I check that notification"},{"startTime":378.38,"endTime":380.75,"body":"before I do what I"},{"startTime":378.38,"endTime":380.75,"body":"picked my phone up for,"},{"startTime":380.84,"endTime":383.66,"body":"I'm never going to remember"},{"startTime":380.84,"endTime":383.66,"body":"why I picked it up."},{"startTime":384.13,"endTime":387.73,"body":"Well, that happens to me"},{"startTime":384.13,"endTime":387.73,"body":"frequently. No, I usually remember"},{"startTime":387.73,"endTime":391.39,"body":"five or 10 minutes later,"},{"startTime":387.73,"endTime":391.39,"body":"but once something else prompts"},{"startTime":391.39,"endTime":395.11,"body":"you to remember it, right?"},{"startTime":391.39,"endTime":395.11,"body":"I mean, it happened the"},{"startTime":395.11,"endTime":398.56,"body":"other night, just who won"},{"startTime":395.11,"endTime":398.56,"body":"the hockey game, pick my"},{"startTime":398.56,"endTime":403.48,"body":"phone up. Oh, check the"},{"startTime":398.56,"endTime":403.48,"body":"notifications. Why did I pick"},{"startTime":403.48,"endTime":407.74,"body":"my phone up and just"},{"startTime":403.48,"endTime":407.74,"body":"had no clue? And it's"},{"startTime":407.74,"endTime":409.09,"body":"gone. Absolutely."},{"startTime":410.26,"endTime":413.86,"body":"And, and the truth is,"},{"startTime":410.26,"endTime":413.86,"body":"is that oftentimes why it"},{"startTime":413.86,"endTime":417.58,"body":"is not necessarily identified, first"},{"startTime":413.86,"endTime":417.58,"body":"of all, there's actually a"},{"startTime":417.58,"endTime":419.83,"body":"couple of reasons. One of"},{"startTime":417.58,"endTime":419.83,"body":"them is if it's a"},{"startTime":419.83,"endTime":423.19,"body":"mild enough symptom, people recognize"},{"startTime":419.83,"endTime":423.19,"body":"that that's something that everybody"},{"startTime":423.19,"endTime":426.34,"body":"experiences from time to time,"},{"startTime":423.19,"endTime":426.34,"body":"right? It doesn't matter who"},{"startTime":426.34,"endTime":428.47,"body":"it is. You'll always hear"},{"startTime":426.34,"endTime":428.47,"body":"people talk about the fact"},{"startTime":428.47,"endTime":430.63,"body":"that they, you know, went"},{"startTime":428.47,"endTime":430.63,"body":"to do something and then"},{"startTime":430.63,"endTime":433.18,"body":"they forgot what it was."},{"startTime":430.63,"endTime":433.18,"body":"So, you know, they, you"},{"startTime":433.18,"endTime":435.07,"body":"know, take 10 steps back"},{"startTime":433.18,"endTime":435.07,"body":"to where you were to"},{"startTime":435.07,"endTime":437.38,"body":"see if you can remember"},{"startTime":435.07,"endTime":437.38,"body":"what it was. So even"},{"startTime":437.38,"endTime":440.02,"body":"at what we would call"},{"startTime":437.38,"endTime":440.02,"body":"neuro-typical. So not someone who"},{"startTime":440.02,"endTime":444.49,"body":"has not got the unique"},{"startTime":440.02,"endTime":444.49,"body":"qualities of being ADHD can"},{"startTime":444.49,"endTime":448.57,"body":"experience some of the same"},{"startTime":444.49,"endTime":448.57,"body":"symptoms or the same traits,"},{"startTime":448.87,"endTime":451.36,"body":"but they're typically experiencing them"},{"startTime":448.87,"endTime":451.36,"body":"at very low levels."},{"startTime":452.62,"endTime":455.38,"body":"Inattentive type is also a"},{"startTime":452.62,"endTime":455.38,"body":"bit of a challenge because"},{"startTime":456.07,"endTime":460.51,"body":"the hyperactive type gets all"},{"startTime":456.07,"endTime":460.51,"body":"the attention, right? Those are"},{"startTime":460.51,"endTime":462.64,"body":"the kids in school who"},{"startTime":460.51,"endTime":462.64,"body":"couldn't stay in their seats."},{"startTime":462.67,"endTime":466.24,"body":"They couldn't stay focused in"},{"startTime":462.67,"endTime":466.24,"body":"class, but they were also"},{"startTime":466.27,"endTime":468.67,"body":"very disruptive of the rest"},{"startTime":466.27,"endTime":468.67,"body":"of the class. They were"},{"startTime":468.67,"endTime":473.77,"body":"often physical, often getting into"},{"startTime":468.67,"endTime":473.77,"body":"trouble, doing things. They probably"},{"startTime":473.77,"endTime":476.17,"body":"shouldn't have been doing, getting"},{"startTime":473.77,"endTime":476.17,"body":"into things they shouldn't be"},{"startTime":476.17,"endTime":481.54,"body":"doing. And they're very, very"},{"startTime":476.17,"endTime":481.54,"body":"high speed, right? So you"},{"startTime":481.54,"endTime":485.23,"body":"can definitely pick those out."},{"startTime":481.54,"endTime":485.23,"body":"And usually they're flagged through"},{"startTime":485.23,"endTime":489.22,"body":"the education system, right? So"},{"startTime":485.23,"endTime":489.22,"body":"the teachers recognize this inattentive"},{"startTime":489.22,"endTime":492.04,"body":"can quite often be interpreted"},{"startTime":489.22,"endTime":492.04,"body":"as something else. It could"},{"startTime":492.04,"endTime":494.14,"body":"be interpreted as somebody who's"},{"startTime":492.04,"endTime":494.14,"body":"just being very introverted."},{"startTime":494.65,"endTime":496.54,"body":"It could be introverted. They're"},{"startTime":494.65,"endTime":496.54,"body":"not really paying attention in"},{"startTime":496.54,"endTime":498.46,"body":"class, which is a common"},{"startTime":496.54,"endTime":498.46,"body":"thing that we hear as"},{"startTime":498.46,"endTime":501.34,"body":"kids. It could be that"},{"startTime":498.46,"endTime":501.34,"body":"there's some question about how"},{"startTime":501.34,"endTime":507.16,"body":"smart they are. They're just"},{"startTime":501.34,"endTime":507.16,"body":"not that bright or they're"},{"startTime":507.16,"endTime":510.37,"body":"probably just going to have"},{"startTime":507.16,"endTime":510.37,"body":"a basic job when they"},{"startTime":510.37,"endTime":513.46,"body":"grow up is the perception"},{"startTime":510.37,"endTime":513.46,"body":"that is created. When in"},{"startTime":513.46,"endTime":517.24,"body":"fact it's very common for"},{"startTime":513.46,"endTime":517.24,"body":"people who are ADHD to"},{"startTime":517.24,"endTime":520.81,"body":"be quite bright. In fact,"},{"startTime":517.24,"endTime":520.81,"body":"our brains have to process"},{"startTime":520.81,"endTime":524.95,"body":"a whole lot more than"},{"startTime":520.81,"endTime":524.95,"body":"a neuro-typical brain. And so"},{"startTime":524.95,"endTime":528.67,"body":"it's just misunderstood. And often"},{"startTime":524.95,"endTime":528.67,"body":"that inattentive type is missed"},{"startTime":528.67,"endTime":529.6,"body":"in a diagnosis."},{"startTime":529.99,"endTime":534.67,"body":"So you, you said a"},{"startTime":529.99,"endTime":534.67,"body":"new word neuro-typical all right."},{"startTime":534.67,"endTime":539.55,"body":"So you to explain that,"},{"startTime":534.67,"endTime":539.55,"body":"Sherri, what is neuro-typical"},{"startTime":539.81,"endTime":542.99,"body":"Okay. That's a great question."},{"startTime":539.81,"endTime":542.99,"body":"So when we talk about"},{"startTime":542.99,"endTime":549.41,"body":"neuro-typical versus neurodivergent neuro-typical neuro-typical,"},{"startTime":542.99,"endTime":549.41,"body":"which clearly is occasionally hard"},{"startTime":549.41,"endTime":553.55,"body":"to say is really generally"},{"startTime":549.41,"endTime":553.55,"body":"considered to be the average"},{"startTime":553.55,"endTime":558.08,"body":"person's brain wiring. Most people who"},{"startTime":752.62,"endTime":755.77,"body":"are entrepreneurs have worked for"},{"startTime":755.77,"endTime":758.2,"body":"other people and then realize"},{"startTime":755.77,"endTime":758.2,"body":"they don't like working for"},{"startTime":758.2,"endTime":761.02,"body":"other people. And so they"},{"startTime":758.2,"endTime":761.02,"body":"choose to strike out on"},{"startTime":761.02,"endTime":765.04,"body":"their own. And by the time"},{"startTime":810.81,"endTime":813.81,"body":"the truck driver comes back"},{"startTime":810.81,"endTime":813.81,"body":"from his trip, he's ready"},{"startTime":813.81,"endTime":819.09,"body":"to quit because, and nobody"},{"startTime":813.81,"endTime":819.09,"body":"really understands it, but this"},{"startTime":819.09,"endTime":821.97,"body":"would at least go part"},{"startTime":819.09,"endTime":821.97,"body":"of the way to explain"},{"startTime":821.97,"endTime":824.73,"body":"why the effects of truck"},{"startTime":821.97,"endTime":824.73,"body":"drivers so much more. And so the more"},{"startTime":903.74,"endTime":905.81,"body":"that they ruminate, the more"},{"startTime":905.81,"endTime":911.12,"body":"that it's building up, that"},{"startTime":905.81,"endTime":911.12,"body":"emotional reaction to it. And"},{"startTime":911.12,"endTime":914.18,"body":"so, and I'm like go"},{"startTime":911.12,"endTime":914.18,"body":"crazy into this explanation, but"},{"startTime":914.45,"endTime":916.55,"body":"imagine that every day you"},{"startTime":914.45,"endTime":916.55,"body":"start off with a bucket"},{"startTime":916.55,"endTime":919.28,"body":"and you can pour emotions"},{"startTime":916.55,"endTime":919.28,"body":"in there over the course"},{"startTime":919.28,"endTime":919.85,"body":"of the day."},{"startTime":920.57,"endTime":923.51,"body":"And every time you pour"},{"startTime":920.57,"endTime":923.51,"body":"more emotions in there, negative"},{"startTime":923.51,"endTime":927.17,"body":"ones or what we perceive"},{"startTime":923.51,"endTime":927.17,"body":"negatively, you know, they fill"},{"startTime":927.17,"endTime":930.32,"body":"up and fill up a"},{"startTime":927.17,"endTime":930.32,"body":"little bit more. Usually throughout"},{"startTime":930.32,"endTime":932.54,"body":"the course of the day,"},{"startTime":930.32,"endTime":932.54,"body":"we find ways to pour"},{"startTime":932.54,"endTime":935.12,"body":"a little bit out. So"},{"startTime":932.54,"endTime":935.12,"body":"there's more room to tolerate"},{"startTime":935.36,"endTime":939.02,"body":"any other additional negative emotions."},{"startTime":935.36,"endTime":939.02,"body":"The problem is is that"},{"startTime":939.02,"endTime":941.33,"body":"when you don't have those"},{"startTime":939.02,"endTime":941.33,"body":"other outlets and you're in"},{"startTime":941.33,"endTime":943.64,"body":"your truck all day long,"},{"startTime":941.33,"endTime":943.64,"body":"and there's nothing else to"},{"startTime":943.64,"endTime":945.92,"body":"focus on and you're in"},{"startTime":943.64,"endTime":945.92,"body":"your head the whole time,"},{"startTime":945.92,"endTime":948.17,"body":"because there's nobody else to"},{"startTime":945.92,"endTime":948.17,"body":"talk to. That negative"},{"startTime":981.19,"endTime":983.38,"body":"reaction is only going to"},{"startTime":981.19,"endTime":983.38,"body":"make things worse and they"},{"startTime":983.38,"endTime":985.66,"body":"don't have that outlet to"},{"startTime":983.38,"endTime":985.66,"body":"talk them down off that"},{"startTime":985.66,"endTime":986.29,"body":"ledge."},{"startTime":986.95,"endTime":990.1,"body":"Yeah. Mid-sentence"},{"startTime":1338.05,"endTime":1339.86,"body":"I mean, sorry, I'm just"},{"startTime":1338.05,"endTime":1339.86,"body":"thinking for a truck driver,"},{"startTime":1339.86,"endTime":1344.12,"body":"he looks at his GPS"},{"startTime":1339.86,"endTime":1344.12,"body":"and it says, you know,"},{"startTime":1344.24,"endTime":1347.57,"body":"travel 10 miles and take"},{"startTime":1344.24,"endTime":1347.57,"body":"exit 48. So depends on"},{"startTime":1372.44,"endTime":1377.03,"body":"what that information is that"},{"startTime":1377.03,"endTime":1380.48,"body":"needs to be stored. And"},{"startTime":1377.03,"endTime":1380.48,"body":"that person's individual neuro-diversity, but"},{"startTime":1380.48,"endTime":1385.01,"body":"absolutely. But"},{"startTime":1462.93,"endTime":1466.53,"body":"the truth is, is that"},{"startTime":1462.93,"endTime":1466.53,"body":"on the opposite side of"},{"startTime":1466.56,"endTime":1472.38,"body":"the challenges are extraordinarily incredible"},{"startTime":1466.56,"endTime":1472.38,"body":"skills that we develop. And"},{"startTime":1537.09,"endTime":1543.51,"body":"so recognizing it and being"},{"startTime":1543.51,"endTime":1547.86,"body":"able to own it for"},{"startTime":1543.51,"endTime":1547.86,"body":"ourselves is extremely empowering.
