Discussion Questions:
- What is one thing you are looking forward to in the next few weeks? What is one thing you are not looking forward to?
- Pastor Chris said that he thought the religious leaders of Jesus' day believed "God loves good people who obey the rules." How do you think believing that would affect someone's relationship with God?
- Read aloud Luke 5:33-39. As a group, work together to try and explain Jesus' answer in your own words, possibly using a modern-day illustration.
- Explain what you think Pastor Chris meant when he said the old covenant was about "rules" and the new covenant was about "relationships."
- Are you better at applying the law or love when it comes to your relationship with others? Why?
