Sep 17, 2020 Season 1 Episode 8
Flo Perry, Naomi Wolf

In this episode you'll hear two of the most talked about events at WOW London in 2020, featuring author, journalist and feminist activist Naomi Wolf, and writer and illustrator Flo Perry.
First up, Flo Perry gives a hilarious and insightful speech about How to Have Feminist Sex. Inspired by her illustrated book of the same name, Flo's talk debunks myths, looks at the weird and wonderful ideas we've inherited about sex, and asks how we're bringing feminism into our sex lives.
Up next, listen to Naomi Wolf rousing speech exploring her iconic book The Beauty Myth three decades on. Speaking at the 30th anniversary of its publication, she revisits it's then ground-breaking themes about society's destructive obsession with 'beauty' and the detrimental nature of the advertising industry. While it's undoubtedly an inspiring call to arms for the work still to be done, Naomi also pays tribute to the incredible progress generations of women and girls have made. Plus, don't miss a short conversation with Alexandra Whiston-Dew, a specialist on revenge porn advice services from our podcast supporters, the law firm Mishcon De Reya. Alexandra is also part of the legal support service Spite - visit here to find out more about its services. We end this week with the incredible Indian singer Anandi Bhattacharya, singing “Vrindavani Sarang”. She is accompanied by Pandit Tanmoy Bose, a world renowned tabla maestro and her father Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya, a famous slide guitar maestro. This performance was taken from WOW Global 24, which included WOW Sounds, a music programme featuring amazing women from around the world. Watch their performances here
