S3 Ep2 - The WOW Show with Jude Kelly live in York
The WOW Show is back – this time, as a podcast! Join WOW - Women of the World Founder Jude Kelly for a powerful new series recorded live across the UK, capturing the raw energy, laughter, and passion of last October’s tour.
Each episode dives into the big issues shaping our lives – from the personal to the political. Expect frank conversations on gender equality, the realities of being a woman today, and the fight for a fairer world. In this episode, recorded live at York Theatre Royal, Jude is joined by two incredible local heroes and poet Sharena Lee Satti.
Abigail Gaines founded the award-winning ‘Make Space for Girls’ project, based in Rowntree park. The project aims to address the drop off in park usage as girls enter their teenage years, and to make them places where older girls and women are empowered to be themselves.
Shamim Eimaan was a child refugee - she was born in Uganda, grew up in Birmingham and moved to York in 1986. Her desire is to empower under-represented communities, improve wider understanding of other backgrounds and cultures and to bring communities together. Her recent projects include Uganda50 York, Chat Adoption York, Refugee Week Traditional Ladies night, and the first ever York Health Mela.
