Featuring Dina Asher-Smith, the fastest British woman in history
Featuring Dina Asher-Smith, the fastest British woman in history and a discussion with Chelsea Kwakye and Ore Ogunbiyi on Taking Up Space: The Black Girl's Manifesto
In this episode we revisit two of WOW London 2020's most popular sessions. Jude Kelly interviews Dina Asher-Smith, the fastest British woman in history, about what it means to her to be a role model, being a woman in sports and what drives her. Then listen to University of Cambridge graduates Chelsea Kwakye and Ore Ogunbiyi discuss Taking Up Space: The Black Girl's Manifesto, their acclaimed book that explores the realities of being a Black girl in white institutions. They're joined by Dr Ronx Ikharia and Flyover Founder Renée Kapuku.
Plus, hear about what it takes to do an Iron distance triathlon and a performance of Eulogy for a Sparrow by Indian musician and poet Ditty. Ditty's projects have included a #StreetsForUs busking tour in Nepal, India and Sri Lanka that explored how art can be used to transform and reclaim the streets. Listen to more of her work here
