Show Notes

In this weeks episode of Master My Garden podcast John looks at the topic of the gardening boom which as occurred since the March 2020 when our worlds all changed with the arrival the global pandemic. Gardening has gone through a surge in popularity with many finding it to be very enjoyable and beneficial when all else around them was in disarray. So many new gardeners have entered the market and many of them will continue to garden for years to come. Demand for gardening products is at an all time high across the world and it is now a very trendy pastime attracting a younger demographic than we have been used to previously.

All this demand coupled with challenges we in Ireland are experiencing due to Brexit have meant that there are some potential issues coming down the tracks. With most gardening and consumer goods seeing huge price increases John looks at the reasons behind these increases and how they will affect us in our gardens. John also looks at the potential supply issues on seed potatoes and vegetable seeds as a result of Brexit.

As always gardeners will find a way around these issues but for the coming months the landscape and supply chains are creaking like never before.
