Show Notes

In this weeks episode of Master My Garden Podcast I am joined by Dr. Karen O Hanlon to talk about the benefits of Biochar in your garden. Biochar is now starting to become spoken about quiet a lot and its benefits are far reaching and definitive. It has 58 stated uses but specifically in gardening terms it has huge benefits such as locking in carbon, retaining moisture, increasing the microbial action around the rootzone, increasing yields, improving plants resistance to disease, reduces acidity in the soil etc. Many craft gardeners speak of the benefits of biochar especially in plants with restricted root zones such as urban trees, bonsai plants and alpine plants.

Karen's company Probio Carbon goes one step further by inoculating  their own produced biochar with beneficial bacteria that give plants a huge boost especially for plant health. You can find Karen's company at this address.
