7 Tips to Help You Write Great Instagram Captions
Today we’re going to be sharing a few tips to help you write great Instagram captions. If you get frustrated writing captions or you’ve been feeling stuck and you aren’t sure what to write, this podcast episode is for you!
Tip #1: Use captions to build your relationship with your audience
One of the most important reasons why you shouldn’t take your captions for granted is because every caption is an opportunity to build a relationship with your audience.
A few Instagram caption ideas you could try on your account are:
INTRODUCTION TYPE CAPTIONS
In these types of posts, you share with your followers a little bit of who you are, what you do, where you live, etc.
2 TRUTHS AND A LIE
Personally, I remember playing 2 truths and a lie as an ice breaker in group events. This is also a great ice breaker between you and your audience. It gives your followers a chance to engage by trying to identify which is the lie.
ASKING FOR RECOMMENDATIONS CAPTIONS
I’ve learned over the years that people genuinely enjoy sharing what they know or how they could help you. Every time I visit a new city, I always ask my audience what I see/eat/or should do in the city.
Tip #2: Share a teaser of your blog post or video
If you’ve taken the time to write a blog post, share a teaser of that blog post in your Instagram caption. Sharing a preview to your audience will level set their expectations.
Your audience will know what they’re going to see when they click the link in the bio to read your blog post. This is also one way to repurpose the content you’ve already written and save time!
