JSA Virtual Roundtable | Transforming the Transformers: Digitizing the Connectivity Industry
The need for digital transformation in the connectivity space is increasing at a staggering pace. Enterprises are on a fast track to evolving their networks so they can support burgeoning technologies such as SD-WAN and IoT-oriented applications, etc. Residentially, some 18 to 36 million Americans currently lack broadband, creating a troubling digital divide. All of these truths possess a common challenge: connectivity. Without it, there is no digital transformation; no next-gen applications or factory floor data processing and optimization; no bridging the rural broadband gap; no virtual office; no virtual anything.
Yet the act of network discovery, procurement and physical connection is rife with inefficiencies, inaccuracies and antiquated manual processes. And the companies tasked with helping their customers digitally transform through connectivity – namely, network operators and managed service providers – aren’t immune to these same types of challenges. It begs the question: how far along are the transformers on their own path to transformation?
Moderated by George Lawton, a journalist with VentureBeat and TechTarget, this virtual roundtable will address the long-standing challenges faced by network buyers and sellers, and new ones brought on by the rise in trends such as SD-WAN and 5G. Panelists will offer actionable solutions, including steps toward process automation, accurate and easily accessible location insights, digital twin analyses, ecosystem engagement and more, as a means to transform the transformers.
