Kylie Vernoff from Roger Clark episode:  You had this little, like sheepish grin on your face and you were saying you thought this could end up being a pretty big deal, you know? And you were like, I don't know. But, you know. But I think it it could.

Verta Maloney: We’re back with Season 2 of The Let’s Play Podcast by the*gameHERs hosted by actress Kaili Vernoff. Gamers know Kaili best as the fiery Susan Grimshaw in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Miranda Cowan in GTA5.

This season, Kaili interviews a new group of guests from all across the gaming industry, discussing their careers, their thoughts on gaming, issues that matter to them, and more!

We’re kicking things off with actors Sharon Muthu and Noshir Dalal

Noshir: I really do feel that performance capture is essentially really, really expensive, really high tech black box theater.

Verta: Between them, Sharon and Noshir have done voice and performance capture for dozens of games, among them Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption 2, Spiderman, and the upcoming Iron Man VR from Marvel.

Sharon Muthu: I can't change my skin color, but I can at least help show people that with every success I have, I am a dark skinned woman. And so there's there's nothing standing in my way. So there should be nothing standing in yours.

Verta: In our next episode, we dive in with multi-award winning game designer and developer Brenda Romero. With design credits in 49 games, her portfolio includes the Wizardry series and her highly anticipated new video game Empire of Sin.

Brenda Romero: You know, the more experiences that I can have, the more things that we can bring to the medium, the more design, the more expanded our design sensibilities and possibilities space becomes, the better.

Verta: For our Red Dead Redemption 2 fans everywhere, giddy up for Kaili’s interview with none other than Arthur Morgan himself, award-winning actor Roger Clark.

Roger Clark: I told relatives, you know, I'm working on a video game and I can't really say much more than that. And they're like, oh, that's fantastic. That's great for you. And then three or four years later, they go, Are you still working on that video game? Can't talk about, Rog. I'm like, Yeah, that's right. I got the feeling that they just thought I was delusional, that I needed therapy or something.

Verta: Kaili also talks about acting and representation with Carolina Ravassa, an actor best known for playing Raze in Valorant and Sombra in Overwatch.

Carolina Ravassa: I'm also always surprised when men come up and they're all like, "yeah! You know, I love your character." And then. And then they get all teary-eyed saying that, you know, they've never felt represented. And finally their mom sits down next to them to watch them play because Sombra connects to her and their accent and their language.

Verta: And we’re just getting started. Our line-up of guests also includes esports host and personality Erin Simon

Erin Simon:  There are going to be times where people may not like the fact that I'm standing firm and that the end of the day, that's OK

Verta: Iconic actor David Patrick Kelly, whose credits include The Warriors, Twin Peaks and John Wick:

David Patrick Kelly: (1:11:24) “try stuff until they say no but with good spirit and knowing that you're trying for the greater good of the whole thing"
