Episode 86 – Step 7, But God!!!
We humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings.
Step Seven really launches the turning point in the recovery process. There’s a bridge between the work of the first six steps and the final steps – this requires humility and changes in our behaviors.
Our past habits and shortcomings may seem to clutter our personal journey, as we strive to leave our past in the rearview mirror. You might wonder if God will really come into the mess to lead us out? God says, “Rebuild the road! Clear away the rocks and stones so my people can return from captivity.”
God is our ultimate help in clearing the way to a better future. He looks forward to removing our compulsive and destructive behaviors, so we can avoid being tripped up. He isn’t put off by the foolish things we do, he sees what we do but chooses to heal us anyway! He’ll keep leading us toward recovery, one step at a time.
