Episode 95 – Interview with Patti Clark, an award winning, international best-selling author, accomplished speaker and workshop leader
Patti resides in New Zealand, she has been featured on TVNZ’s Breakfast Show and her work has been featured in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journey, The Boston Globe, the Mindful Word, and Thrive Global. Her “This Way Up” book is the Winner of International Excellence Self-Help Book of the Year.
She got clean and sober in January 1988, two days before her 30th birthday; and then she relapsed with almost thirteen years of sobriety at the end of 2000. She got sober again in November of 2014. Her family has a long history of alcoholics and addicts – she say she comes from a truly multi-generational background.
The first time she got sober was via an AA group in Tucson, AZ where she also did a lot of counselling and therapy. After relocating to New Zealand, she was successful in getting sober and then created a multi-addiction 12-step group with a local friend back in 2014.
Patti is quick to express her gratitude and now believes she’s living a life with purpose. Her second book is about to be released. She touts having an amazing family, with a husband who stuck with her through her struggles, plus today they have two phenomenal sons who are not struggling with any compulsive and destructive behaviors. She is proud to have broken the multi-generational problem.
