Feel It To Heal It
Morning Mantra: "Sit with it. Sit with it. Sit with it. Healing happens through feeling it."
Our natural tendency is to escape difficult feelings. But don't push it away, pretend it's not there, or numb it because underneath those difficult feelings is your light, your power, your ability to get to the other side of it. Learn to sit with that fear, sadness or anxiety you are feeling.
Begin by acknowledging the emotion. "I am afraid."
Feel the physical sensations of the emotion.
Welcome the emotion as a teacher here to help you understand something.
Recognize it as a feeling. That it is temporary and not who you are. Know that you will not always feel this way.
Visualize the best possible outcome.
Try not to label how you are feeling as good or bad. It just is how you are feeling.
Sit with it and face it. Let it flow through you. Ignoring these feelings gets them stuck inside.
The goal is not to get rid of all your negative feelings, that's impossible. The goal is to change your response to them.
