Embark on an electrifying trek through the satirical depths of "Starship Troopers," a film that's so much more than its 1997 bug-squashing façade. Tom and I dissect the dystopian world where citizenship is earned through military service, and propaganda infomercials are as common as morning coffee. Tune in as we peel back the layers of this controversial cinematic piece, discussing everything from its Nazi imagery and the all-American casting to the philosophical musings imparted by Michael Ironside's character. Our chat isn't complete without a side story about our globe-trotting correspondent and his latest tattoo misadventure, blending humor with our critique of this cult classic's bold narrative choices.

Switching gears, the intense world of "Sicario" sequel awaits, where we navigate darker waters without the moral anchor of Emily Blunt's character from the first film. The sequel thrusts us into a realm where Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro steer the ship through chilling interrogation scenes, murky cartel operations, and a heavier emphasis on the gray areas of morality. We debate the nuanced storytelling and the interweaving of characters' lives, while also taking a side trip into the gaming universe with anticipations for "Elden Ring" DLC and the camaraderie found in multiplayer games.

Wrapping up with the latest buzz from the entertainment front, we ponder the potential of '90s cartoon revivals and Henry Cavill's mysterious role in the MCU. From Alan Richson’s comedic escapades to the prospect of the next "Call of Duty" on Game Pass, we cover the spectrum of entertainment curiosities. Plus, we eagerly await your film suggestions, bad or good—we're ready to tackle them with the same enthusiasm we bring to each episode. Join us for this wild ride of film reviews, gaming hype, and the latest industry news.

Speaker 1:

RIT headphones users.

Speaker 2:

That's a little kid.

Speaker 1:

They're doing their part. Are you Join the mobile infantry and save the world Service guarantees citizenship. Would you like to know more? Aren't those the same suits from Power Rangers? Is that from Lost Galaxy? No, they were at Power Rangers. Starship Troopers are in the same universe. Change my mind. Hello and welcome to entertain this. It's a podcast about movies, TV shows and video games. My name is Tom. With me I have Mitch oh it's just the two of us. Our foreign correspondent has yet to correspond.

Speaker 2:

He's lost somewhere in the sands.

Speaker 1:

He has time to go to a tattoo shop. I didn't get a penis tattooed on his arm. I hope he hears that. I hope he listens. That's how we'll know if he's been keeping up with our episodes. You said I had a dick drawn on me.

Speaker 2:

Anyways, our social media is entertainthispodcastcom, which will take you to our Facebook group and page. We also have our Twitter, slash X, which is at this entertain, our Instagram, which is entertainthis, and our YouTube and TikTok, which is at this exclamation point.

Speaker 1:

All those things. Last episode we did a review of Predor.

Speaker 2:

Well, these are going to come out in a different order.

Speaker 1:

In the next episode we're going to do a review of Predor.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Just so everyone knows we rehearsed this. We always know what we're doing.

Speaker 1:

Of course we do Every time, every time.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

This episode we're talking about Starship Troopers.

Speaker 2:

Yes, we are. Would you like to know more? It's an ugly planet. It's a bug planet.

Speaker 1:

And then that guy gets chopped in half.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we're talking about the cult classic 1997 Starship Troopers.

Speaker 1:

Which is based on a book called Starship Troopers.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

But I don't think. What Isn't it like a? It's like a dystopian early.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the book.

Speaker 1:

Utilitarian dictatorship future.

Speaker 2:

The book is written in a very heavily right-winged militarized future, and then the movie tries to play a parody on that.

Speaker 1:

Which people didn't get to begin with that they were based on the Nazis.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

But they're obnoxiously Caucasian features.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, the movie starts with, like you heard, the join the mobile infantry.

Speaker 1:

Mobile infantry.

Speaker 2:

I'm not good at that.

Speaker 1:

No, you're not.

Speaker 2:

The little infomercial kind of stuff. And then it moves over to the characters in the class discussing violence with Michael Ironside Rochank or something like that.

Speaker 1:

Right check or right check, right check.

Speaker 2:

Right check, right check Rochnicks. But it talks to them, it philosophizes it Blah, blah, blah, blah. Philosophying over violence and how it's bad.

Speaker 1:

How do words good?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that.

Speaker 1:

Is that he's like talking about? Like how military stuff is like the only way they can get citizenship?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, military is the only way they can get citizenship Blah blah, you are just struggling today. Military is the only way they can get citizenship in this world and it's like super earth or something like that. I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I know it's earth Because they live in Buenos Aires.

Speaker 2:

Super earth has to do with the thing I'm going to talk about later Super- yeah, but they're on earth.

Speaker 1:

We just recalled it. Super.

Speaker 2:

They're on earth and he's talking about. Like all conflict is always solved by violence. And then one girl is like my mom said, nothing is solved by violence. It's pretty much like your mom's dumb.

Speaker 1:

Your mom's an idiot. Get out of my classroom.

Speaker 2:

But you have Johnny Diz Carmen. They're all in a. What's his name? Carl?

Speaker 1:

All kind of like in class. Yeah, neil Patrick Harris. Yeah, what's her face.

Speaker 2:

Carmen, not Carmen, but sure.

Speaker 1:

Denise Richards, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Denise Richards.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I remember the name of the girl who plays Disney, who was way hotter.

Speaker 2:

Let's see.

Speaker 1:

Did I write it down.

Speaker 2:

I did not.

Speaker 1:

Then Denise Richards in that movie.

Speaker 2:

But basically in this like they're doing that. Then they move on to the classroom where you see the first bug that they like trying to dissect.

Speaker 1:

Oh, the super cockroach Like the size of this table.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and he's like pulling body parts out. Handed it to Denise Richards.

Speaker 1:

She's like about to just throw up all over the place. I would be too Like I'm not reaching in that thing, I'll take the F for today. I'm not touching that book.

Speaker 2:

You got the science teacher with like the weird bug eyeglasses, like walking around talking about how you have to be able to accept the laws of nature and all this kind of stuff, and then it moves on to like they're playing this futuristic football.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and they're like, just like, like a tiger, yeah.

Speaker 2:

So like basically Rico's defying physics and doing flips over people.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I don't know if it's like supposed to be like a lower gravity field or something like that. They don't explain it, but basically the new character comes in something, maldoon. His last name is Maldoon, but he like crashes into Rico's girlfriend, just Carmen, which is. Denise Richards, but it crashed into her and like they kind of flirting as he stands up, then Rico gets slapped in the head by a diss because it's telling to get his head in the game. Yeah, they end up winning by barely and then they get into a fight. Yeah, well, that's later on, but uh, what's next? They, oh they. After that, rico goes home and tells his family that you know, all did is are not just Carmen's going to join the military. He's like I'm going to do it too, as dad gives him. Like the reppermen, like the hell you are rich, you're going on vacation.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you're going on vacation. You're going on like a leisure cruise across the galaxy. Yeah, we don't have time for you to join the military. What are you an idiot? We're wealthy.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, he makes up this whole story like, yeah, well, she's doing it and I want to do it too. It's the right thing. I want to serve. You know, I want to become a citizen, all this kind of stuff, which is kind of weird. And then they kind of made a point to it at the end in like some special features, talking about how they live in Buenos Aires. But it kind of alludes to like they're all like descendants of Nazis, because yeah they live in Buenos Aires, but he's blonde hair. blonde hair, blue yeah.

Speaker 1:

Which they play on in the book. That's like does it mean I mean the Nazis? I mean they were in Buenos Aires after the war. That's a well established fact. This is basically just what happens, like if they just ran amok yeah.

Speaker 2:

And then after his argument, he's like getting ready for the dance and he puts on his little bow tie and his mom straightening it and says, oh well, yeah, I'm sure she would look great in the uniform, but you can't join, you know the military just for that.

Speaker 1:

And then she's going to go to like pilot school or something. Yeah, they show like their test scores.

Speaker 2:

And he's got like a two. Yeah, then Carl comes, our Carl, which is you got like a perfect score.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah he's like psychic.

Speaker 2:

Well, he comes up and he puts a Rico score up there. He's like, man, you did great. He's like yeah, like a two percent, something like that.

Speaker 1:

It's like idiot.

Speaker 2:

Then it moves over to like the school dance. Where did this like hot for Rico? She's like hugging up on him and stuff.

Speaker 1:

I would have caved, I wouldn't even put up a fight.

Speaker 2:

She looks better than Denise Richardson. But the Muldoon character shows up at their dance and like kind of gets to a slight argument there. That dude plays just a, he plays a prick, yeah. Then after the dance they talk about. You know, the next day they go into the military sign in where they're getting introduced to like the guy that has like one arm and no legs. He's like yeah, I was in the mobile infantry too.

Speaker 1:

It's like, oh crap, you're quadriplegic sir.

Speaker 2:

But then that's when they basically they get.

Speaker 1:

That's when that dude shows up and he signs up to go to pilot school whatever with Denise Richards, yeah, and he just like looks at Rico, like yeah, that's up, but, like they're, they go off one way, rico has to go off another and Carl has to go off a different, so they're like military intelligence.

Speaker 2:

They're like yeah, well, we'll stay friends. This is probably the last time we'll ever see each other, but yeah, then you go into the basic training for Rico. You just stand in there. The. Was it a Clancy Brown?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, sorry, yeah, he was awesome. He's like who has the guy who here things they can take me down, and the one guy's like I think I can, and he's like step on up and then he like breaks the dude's arm Because he takes it, he breaks it, he goes boom and just like destroys it, and he's like God, he's like medic. And then dizzy shows up.

Speaker 2:

She gets a couple shots and, yeah, she shows up. Like you know, camey from Street Fighter.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Thanks, offer jacket and start fighting, kick it, and then she, he chokes her out until she gets out.

Speaker 1:

She's like, oh yeah, it's happen. It's like, all right, not a bad effort.

Speaker 2:

Because you have that. You have a. They're having to like run the obstacle course with a. What's his Gary Busey son?

Speaker 1:

Jake Busey, jake Busey yeah.

Speaker 2:

He shows up like he's one of the people in the basic training with him. Talk about how he's going to be the squad leader never happens.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

But he's like playing the fiddle in the barracks and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1:

You have the part where and they all shower together, like guys and girls.

Speaker 2:

I was going to say that they have like the first co-ed shower scene that I'm like in a movie.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like, and not a porno.

Speaker 2:

I read something else about it they talked about all the actors and actresses were kind of, you know, hesitant about doing this scene.

Speaker 1:

But the director was a Johnny Ternan.

Speaker 2:

Who's the director?

Speaker 1:

Let's see Did you write that down.

Speaker 2:

I did somewhere. I don't know what I put it though, but anyways he showed up buck naked. Yeah, they said, if it's not such a big deal, why don't you do it? So that basically, him and the cameraman filmed the scene naked. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Just to make him like.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, just to kind of like break the tension Paul Verhoeven. Okay, to break the tension, he filmed a naked with the rest of them.

Speaker 1:

Right, he did what had to be done. That's a director.

Speaker 2:

You also have the part where, like, they're throwing knives and Jake Busey is like he's getting fed up because he can't stick it. Well that he's like yo, we're fighting bugs. What are we going to do with the knife and a bug fight?

Speaker 1:

And he's like in a nuke fight and he's like put your hand against the wall. He's like put your hand against the wall and he just throws a knife right through Jake Busey's hand. He's like you. He's like you're a opponent Can't press the button for a nuke if you incapacitate his hand and it's like he's right, let's see.

Speaker 2:

Oh, then you have the flashes over to what Carmen's doing, where she's like she meets Maldoon again at the uh, he's like her instructor to teach her how to fly. So she's like, oh, she races. Uh, trying to think of this actor's name it was Amy Smart that plays Jamie Palomino and just friends. Is she in this movie? She is, but like she doesn't even have a name.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, she's like the other, just the other pilot yeah.

Speaker 2:

She races a uh Carmen to the to like the, the pilot seats and stuff yeah. That's pretty much all she's in the movie for. And like she's flying like Battlestar Galactica over here like doing like type maneuvers and it's like but you, you see that scene where, like, she meets Maldoon again, where he's got a trainer.

Speaker 1:

Um, I count, like they go both going at the same time and he's just in charge of stuff. Now it's like yeah. Okay, your career is advancing rapidly, sir.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he had a higher skill or higher test score. Um, then it goes back to Rico where they're like doing the like, the laser gun training.

Speaker 1:

And the one idiot takes his helmet off.

Speaker 2:

Well, that's not just yet. Um, they're doing the laser gun training where Diz like convinces him to do like some kind of football maneuver.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and he like takes out like everybody.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and he ends up becoming the squad leader at that point. Well then he gets the letter from Carmen, where she's basically breaking up with you.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he goes like a dear John letter.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, everybody's looking at the background playing. All of a sudden they hear it. They're like oh, the next day, cause he's kind of in his head, he's out there and they're doing like more, uh, fire and light live arms trainer. And the guy's like well he'll look, you've fallen down in front of my face.

Speaker 1:

So they take it off and then they blame him because the girl falls down and just starts shooting yeah, she gets, and she, just like you know, continuously hoses the entire like division and shoots this idiot right in the face. Yeah, and it's just like, oh, if he had his helmet? Like no, he got a shot. Like that, that was no, he was, he was done.

Speaker 2:

You're, you're helping. Even that hill is not going to help you.

Speaker 1:

from three feet away, get shot in the face with whatever gun, that is, with the super bug killer. Yeah, get out of here.

Speaker 2:

So then Rico gets blamed for that. He gets his 10 lashes.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and then he's going to quit.

Speaker 2:

Well, you have another scene where Carmen's getting more cozy with Maldoon and they collide with the asteroid which, like it, takes off like the communications.

Speaker 1:

Well, they see the asteroids like flying, and it's the bugs shooting them out of their butts.

Speaker 2:

Well, no, that's, they shoot like these laser stuff, but this asteroid comes flying in and it knocks off their communications. But it alters the path of the asteroid and they never say this in the movie. But that asteroid is what hits the super hit, it hits Buenos Aires. So did the bugs really launch that or did they alter the course and knocking in and they couldn't communicate? They hit it and they said, the bugs did it. That's what I think happened.

Speaker 1:

And then they just like oh, it's the bugs we got to kill the bugs are shooting like the blue laser nonsense, yeah, but they're not shooting. Astral super beetles are shooting stuff out of their butts. Yeah into space and they're like, oh, it's pretty. And then it hits a ship and it explodes and like, oh, dangerous.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure that they they killed all the people on earth that they hit, because they also, the course I mean that was a huge asteroid.

Speaker 1:

That's like a apocalyptic event.

Speaker 2:

Just saying but you know yeah, because I won't say we're not going to get bogged down on the fifth.

Speaker 1:

Instead, it killed like 10 million people in Buenos Aires yeah because, like Rigo's talking to his parents and like it starts getting staticky, they're like, yeah, what's that?

Speaker 2:

Because it's like starts getting dark. Yeah it goes to static.

Speaker 1:

And then it's like everybody dead.

Speaker 2:

That's what I wrote down. That's like did Carmen knock the asteroid to earth?

Speaker 1:

It was all Carmen's fault. The entire war is Carmen's fault.

Speaker 2:

She broke up with Rico and killed 10 million people and started a war.

Speaker 1:

I'm done with you. I'm going on my crazy girl's summer Bye.

Speaker 2:

But then Rico and the squad after I guess wait because he was about to leave. Yeah, he was just going to resign, yeah, he was going to resign.

Speaker 1:

And then everybody's like taking off running to go watch the news and he sees what happened and it's like, oh, it's on Clint Dantoo, whatever the bug, planet Clint Dothu. And then he's just like like, rips up his papers. Like I'm staying.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, rico and the squad, didn't they go to get like their tattoos before they're going to? Get deployed and they run into Carmen and Muldoon and that's where they get into the fist fight. Yeah, that was pretty funny. Is Rico beat him up, yeah, and then they actually. I read something, or well, I was watching an article on YouTube, watching an article, watching a video on watching an article.

Speaker 1:

I was reading a YouTube.

Speaker 2:

But they were talking about that he actually hit and like the bloody lip was real because he accidentally hit him in real life. So that's pretty cool Nice authenticity.

Speaker 1:

That's what you call that authenticity.

Speaker 2:

So then the, as they're like arriving to Clint Dothu, the space fleet gets attacked by the. Like you said, the bugs shoot the stuff out of their butts.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they're pooping blue lasers.

Speaker 2:

The Rico and his squad land, and then basically they get swarmed by the bug.

Speaker 1:

They like assemble and they're like running around and they're like it's all like you know cool stormtroopers running around and then, like they're just standing there, I was like like looking around, and then it's like you see, like the horde yeah.

Speaker 2:

They come running out the bugs, warm attacks.

Speaker 1:

Those bugs scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. They're creepy looking those things are. What pisses me off about this movie is like the mag dumping they're doing on these things and these bugs are not stopping, oh no. And then he walked the bit with um, you know Patrick Harris, where he shoots the bug in the cage twice and like the first shot, just like, makes it like an invalid. This is like, boom, it's like. And then you can shoot him here, boom, boom and the thing's just done because he was shooting in the exact right spots I know he had studied, but he was like hip fire. He like how do you know? Like nobody else was taught this, like you guys aren't like aiming for these spots, they figured it out later, but anyways, this is like.

Speaker 2:

This cuts back to like the very beginning scene. Oh, the super, yeah, show.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah. It's an ugly planet, it's a bug. Planet Run, it's like ah, he gets picked up and then snapped in half.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's where he gets that movie.

Speaker 1:

This movie is gory as hell.

Speaker 2:

Then what's the name? Rico gets stabbed in the leg.

Speaker 1:

Well, like his buddy, the one dude, like the one dude's running around, yeah, get some kids. So then he's like getting like annihilated, like his head goes flying out of the pile and then, like his one buddy, gets like a killed. The one dude who got a tattoo of the white guy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't remember who he was, but he got taken out. The one girl like the thing falls like the redheaded chick and like they come out of the tunnel like impale her leg and drag her into it, yeah, and like, oh there she goes. And then Rico, like he gets the one, dies and it's like main, like front big mandible thing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like goes right into his leg, yeah.

Speaker 1:

And then he's one's like running out. I mean he's shooting with the shotgun thing. It's a boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. It's like camera. And then he's just like in like a back to tank, getting like super surgery.

Speaker 2:

Well then, like because all the stuff in the space was getting shot by the but bugs the booty bugs they make it back to their like, I guess, spaceport or whatever. You see the ships like burning and stuff trying to get back which I don't know how they burn in space, but still be it.

Speaker 1:

It's a movie.

Speaker 2:

They look up on the wall. There's like 100,000 dead in an hour.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so they all just got eaten.

Speaker 2:

And she sees she sees Rico's name on there and then she feels bad because she broke up with him and then he died. Oh, that's what she thinks.

Speaker 1:

But it turns out Rico's still alive.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the next scene. It cuts to Rico's in.

Speaker 1:

like this heel tank, Like yeah he's like a back to tank and like the needles are going across his leg, like Goku and the hyperbolic Like like re forming his like tissues.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, which actually pretty cool looking. Then you find out Rico was saved by Racheck, or however you say his last name.

Speaker 1:

Racheck's Rough Riders, rough Necks.

Speaker 2:

Rough Necks. Then they joined the squad. Then let's see the Rough Necks that go to yeah, because Rico's with the metal hand. Yeah, the Rough Necks go and attack the are.

Speaker 1:

they go to the fort they change up like the no, the forts. At the end they change up tactics, where they start going like around the planets with the bugs oh that's right and exterminating them until they get back to Klendan too. They're just like systematically going after everyone else. Rico takes out like the big buggy, jumps on top and like shoots the hole, he shoots the hole in it and he like spikes the nuke, yeah, and he dives off onto a hill and the bugs like whoop, it explodes. It just orange guts everywhere, yeah. And he's just standing there just getting pelted and he's just looking all cool and stoic.

Speaker 2:

I did find it funny that like when you see them there's like bug, guts, stuff all over them, except for their face. Their faces are clean, but like their helmet and their suit stuff are covered, just covered.

Speaker 1:

That's right, just like I have two rules. Everyone fights, no one quits yeah.

Speaker 2:

Or I'll shoot you myself, yup. But after that they have like their celebration where Rico gets down with Diz. Yeah, he does the best part.

Speaker 1:

Because, like right, like busts in and he's just like we're moving out in five minutes. It's like get ready, because, like Rico becomes his new corporal, because the other one, like got her like arm incinerated and then he's like who's under the bed with you? And he just like she flips the cover and he goes 10 minutes. It's like that's a good commander. Yes, it is Because that one dude, he gets taken out. There's one scene, though, like in a valley and like the flying bugs come in and he like scoops the dude. Oh, no, no, no, yeah One dude gets decapitated, but he like scoops some dude and he's just like getting annihilated. He's like, and then right, she's like, grabs this dude's rifle with like a super scope on it and just chaos.

Speaker 2:

the dude, which is, like you know, and then I expect you all do the same for me.

Speaker 1:

Comes into play. Rico you know what to do. Yes, sir.

Speaker 2:

Well, yeah, because after that part that's when the flying bugs come in, that's when they find the fort, or get back.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they find the fort, that it's deserted and they find, like the general, like hidden in, like the closet.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the bugs had broken into a hole underneath the thing.

Speaker 1:

They find?

Speaker 2:

him in like this little closet. He comes running out like panic and they catch him and like, punch him in the face.

Speaker 1:

Get yourself together. You're a general. Damn it, we don't have time for this.

Speaker 2:

But then that's like the bugs start bearing down.

Speaker 1:

They're like climbing on the walls and they're just getting mowed down.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like a what's it? That's when the guy gets decapitated, he picks up over the wall and then there's just like thousands of bugs storming and basically it's like the Alamo for them. But the bug teacher or bug the bug teacher, the bugs kill the teacher.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, he gets like the ground starts like popping up and he falls in yeah, and like he's like shooting into the sand as his legs are getting like not off yeah, and then he's just like they drag him out and like his bottom half is gone. He's like Rico. He's like you know what to do.

Speaker 2:

He's like yes sir and he shoots him and they'd sit out like a distress call.

Speaker 1:

And then Carmen and Muldoon show up to try and save a little thing and as Diz is running for the thing, she gets stabbed like six times I was like no, you were the hottest one in this movie. You and Rico finally were going to get together. It was going to be magical. You two were meant for each other.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was disappointing, I missed her. But then they do like the little burial scene with Diz where, like they send her off to cover up her casket with like the flag she gets sent off, let's see. Then Carl walks in and is like Nazi uniform.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he literally just looks like he's straight out of the SS.

Speaker 2:

It comes in with it, it's all part of it. Like that's because it is planned to get the brain bug, because they realized something had sucked the brains out of one of the guys.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because they finally his heads like the top of skulls, a huge hole in it, and all his brains are gone.

Speaker 2:

Carmen ship is destroyed.

Speaker 1:

Her Muldoon had to escape because yeah, they crash land and they they's. Rico goes after her.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they get captured, muldoon doesn't take ace with them.

Speaker 1:

And then the black guy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'll get to that in a second, but I just I think it captured. Muldoon gets his brain like sucked out.

Speaker 1:

That was like the most satisfying death, because that dude was such a jerk. It was, but like, the like, the like, the vagina thing, like on his face. Like this like giant, like weird penis thing, because like like a transformer and like the knife on it goes right in the top of his skull. It's like just sucks his brains out.

Speaker 2:

It's like he gave Carmen a knife and then she ends up cutting that off. Yeah and then that's when Rico and the other ones show up because they went searching for, even though it was a gift protocol.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they don't follow the rules.

Speaker 2:

I did like how Rico.

Speaker 1:

Rico's rough next.

Speaker 2:

He comes out, he has the same speech, is like if you dessert, I'll shoot you myself, kind of thing.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, they show up the bloody he gets like sliced across the chest and like he stays to activate the nuke.

Speaker 2:

Right, that's the rest of escape. And then they end up catching the brain.

Speaker 1:

Sergeant Zim. He resigned as a sergeant to be a private, so you could go fight.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I'm catching the brain.

Speaker 1:

He catches him.

Speaker 2:

Oh, and then pretty much after that, like they show the instance, it's like censored and he's like stabbing something into the brain.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's like.

Speaker 2:

But that's pretty much it. After that there's like another recruitment video ending.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and Rico's it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, rico's rough next, but that's, that's pretty much after. Like the synopsis of the movie.

Speaker 1:

This was a good 90s sci-fi action movie.

Speaker 2:

It actually did really bad when it first came out.

Speaker 1:

It really did.

Speaker 2:

It did. I did until it came to home video. That's when it took off.

Speaker 1:

This is this movie used to be on TV.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, all the time in the 90s, actually on sci-fi channel.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm gonna be scared to crap out of me with the bugs. It was cool Like the Iraq Nets or whatever. Like those things were like nightmare fuel to me as a small boy.

Speaker 2:

But then you're also talking about right at the beginning that actually use these for Power Rangers, lost Galaxy, yeah they're suits. They were the same suits for their military.

Speaker 1:

Same helmet, same vest, everything I need to have the same guns. Power Rangers happened in that universe.

Speaker 2:

I was watching, like the Joe Blow about this too and they said that the little desert fort that they were at was infested with rattlesnakes. When they were trying to film this, I said that was the most terrifying scene to film, because every time they turned around there was one somewhere.

Speaker 1:

Oh my.

Speaker 2:

God, how would that? But yeah, I mean this film. They said it had 256 on-screen deaths. They used over 300,000 blank rounds.

Speaker 1:

I believe it because they're all just mag dumping left and right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but yeah, imdb gives this a 7.3.

Speaker 1:

That's fair. Yeah, that's a very fair score.

Speaker 2:

I was gonna say 7, so yeah.

Speaker 1:

That's a very fair assessment of that film.

Speaker 2:

It's a fun film. I didn't realize they have like two or three more sequels of this as well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they're terrible, they're awful, they're all I think. Direct to video.

Speaker 2:

There's Starship Troopers 2, 3, and then there's an animated movie, and then there's a roughnecks TV show like Kid's TV show.

Speaker 1:

I mean that ain't too a kid's show.

Speaker 2:

It's like an animated, like CGI animated kid's show.

Speaker 1:

That's horrible. That's horrifying. Why would they do that?

Speaker 2:

Good question, but anyways, we can move on to our news and reviews, which. Do you have anything else to review? If not, I got two things.

Speaker 1:

What do I watch? I saw a second Sicario movie. Oh, you did, I hadn't seen that. Yeah, tell us about it. I've seen it. Well, me and Rachel. I'd seen the first one, I liked the first one. Rachel was over my girlfriend and we were like, oh, have you ever seen the Sicario movies? And she's like, no, I never saw it. And we watch it and the whole first movie. She's just mad at Emily Blunt and she's like why is she here? She's just in the way and effing it up the entire way when these dudes are out here doing violence for awesome. Like that movie was. It was a good movie. I liked the first one. Emily Blunt was annoying. The second one I like way more because she's not in it. Her annoying character is not in it. I don't think it's Emily Blunt. The person and some of the character she played, the character she played in the devil is Prada Great, very great. The second one is it starts with like an attack in like Kansas City or something. Some Islamataris blow up like a Walmart or something. This one has Josh Brolin in it, a lot more yeah this is more like the Brolin movie Him and Benicio del Toro. Yeah, so they think like they were smuggled across the border by the cartel.

Speaker 2:

They bring in him.

Speaker 1:

He's meeting with, like you know, defense secretaries and like cabinet members and like you, know, what's like the number one commodity now, when the cartels and he was, like you know, 10 years ago was Coke. Now it's people, and they're totally like him, going across the board and they're like you know, we can't, like you're disavowed, no, like you have to find your own resources and everything. But he's, like you know, super CIA. So he has people in contacts to call, like the guy from Burn Notice with the mustache, about getting dudes and weapons and helicopters and Humvees and weapons and all kinds of cool stuff. So they end up capturing some dude who, like ran the ship and it's like the weirdest torture scene. But it's also cool Because it is, just like you know, chained up in his chair and he got, like all the big water coolers where I guess they water boarded him Because you know, cause you know torture. And then he just comes strolling in and crocs, Like when you're when your interrogator comes strolling in with like he hasn't shaved in weeks and he's just hanging out like he's got like booty shorts on and crocs, like you're not walking, Like he's he's here to eff you up, Like it's not the big dudes wearing masks who are just dumping water in your face and just going like where's the Joker? Like this dude's here to mess with your entire life and your mind. So he like pulls up like this thing he's like in questioning him. And he's like he pulls up his like MDT, like his little portable computer. And he's got and he pulls up a picture and it's like a live feed of like his brother's pool house. Yeah, and he goes. Is that your brother? And he's like I don't want to blow up the pool guy. And he's like you're American, you guys have rules. He goes. No rules today, sport. And he calls me just like your green light. And the guy like turns, looks like he like cradles his head, he's like watch and he watched like explodes and he like taps the computer to another screen. It was like other brothers are driving and he's like you got a big family, a lot of brothers. He's like we can do this all day.

Speaker 2:

Because it's been a while since I've seen this one, but I couldn't remember that was this movie or something else.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but it was so cool.

Speaker 2:

I was like man that's interrogating. It's going to get some answers. I can tell you that.

Speaker 1:

He's like you got a big family. He's like eventually I'll get to the brother you can't live without. He's like start talking to me and then, like they start a war with the cartels. They kidnap, like the main cartel guys, like youngest daughter, and pretend to be other cartel guys.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Vinicio does yeah.

Speaker 1:

They kidnap her, they fly her out, they put her in a stash house, they do a fake raid and rescuer as like DEA agents. To earn her trust, to earn her trust. But they're going to give her, they're going to drop her off at a base inside opposing cartel territory and just let whatever happens happen.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, well, Vinicio wouldn't allow that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because he's got morals.

Speaker 2:

He's got morals.

Speaker 1:

He's a hit man, but he's got morals he was a lawyer, but he's got morals, so they do that. I'm trying to know what happens next, because they go to drive her in, they get jumped, the Mexican police turn on them and start shooting at them and then they kill all of them. Yeah, they kill all of them and then they basically she gets out of the Humvee and runs off into the wilderness.

Speaker 2:

Vinicio goes after her, yeah because they want to cut ties and Vinicio's like no, so he goes after him yeah.

Speaker 1:

He goes after him and they're like you know, he gives him like a radio transponder and he's like when you're getting close to the border, activate him, We'll pick you up. Yeah, and he's like OK, so he goes off after the girl. The girl runs into some dude who was like part of the raid and then Vinicio kills him.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And then rescues her from that guy, and then they go off on their little merry adventure.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, where she's pretending like yeah and then she's. She pretends like he's her dad for a little bit yeah.

Speaker 1:

And then the government's like telling Josh Brolin, like you know, these guys didn't come from cartels. Like we're done Like you killed like 20 something Mexican police, like you're not starting a war with the Mexican government, we're starting with the cartels, and he's like these things happen.

Speaker 2:

They were paid by the cartels.

Speaker 1:

Like, yeah, he's like these guys are paid, like they're all working for the cartel, all of them, all of them. And then, like they're like, send him to go kill Vinicio del Toro and the girl when he activates the transponder. And he's like she's like, yeah, we can send another team. And he's like, no, I'll do it, like you know. But he calls Vinicio del Toro and warns him yeah, what's going to happen? Like this, like you guys are on your own, like they're cutting ties.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And he's like you know what that means. Like he's like You're done. Well, he tells him, like you know, I'm not, we're not going to come and kill you.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but I tell him to look out for the future if he runs into people.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you know this is over, yeah, so then, like you have like another whole other story happening with some kid.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's kind of joining the cartel.

Speaker 1:

The cartel and like trafficking people across the border so you got to go through his hole to do he gets involved. But like when they were in Texas where he lived, like he ran through a parking lot and almost got hit by Vinicius Del Toro, josh Brolin and mustache guy from Burn Notice and he's just eyeballing Vinicius Del Toro until the guy hits the police sirens and hits the blue lights on the car. He's like OK, my bad, sorry. Then like Vinicius Del Toro and the girl they find like a deaf guy and his family. They talk to them. He buries the stuff.

Speaker 2:

He's a truck.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they drive them to, I guess, the closest border town on the Mexican side where they can get brought across. So you get caught on the bus by coyotes and then the kid of course is there and recognizes him. So he gets kidnapped and then he already hit the transponder. So they're gearing up and flying out already. The Vinicius Del Toro and the girl, whatever, they're going along on their merry way and they're on the bus and then everybody pulls guns on them and he said he works for like the main dude and the guy's like, and then they come in and they still just like beat him up and it's like who's?

Speaker 2:

son, are you guys?

Speaker 1:

Like you guys are effinative hardcore. If that's true, because they knew who the girl was, they recognized her. So they take her. And then she's acting a fool. So they duct tape her and they're going to take her back to her dad or something. But then, one dude, they put a shirt over Vinicius Del Toro's face, duct tape his mouth.

Speaker 2:

Then they shoot him, don't they?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he gets shot in the face. And then one kid the main guy hands him a gun and it's like it's time for you to make your bones pretty much like be a man, kill him and you're in and the kid like punks out and he's like he takes the gun, he pats him on the back and he shoots him in the face. And then the other kid, like the main kid, they're following you. Yeah, he shoots him and, like you know, and they're like watching like a live feed in color, as it happens, and they're flying because the girl has to transponder in her shoe. So and then the cool takedown stuff, Because like the two cars are going, like the Blackhawks come out and like they shoot, like they, you know, basically like they go like parallel to the road and then he goes like perpendicular across the road and the sniper guy shoots the driver, like the kid's, like older cousin, like right through the chest, through the windshield, and like they stop and then they get out and they're just KOing dudes and the guy's got the girl at gunpoint. Josh Brolin, just like his, has him at gunpoint and there's like no shot. Like the dude's moving, like it's tight and he's just staring at her, just goes boom, boom, boom and just like he's like I think he burst fired this dude in the face but he domes him and like they get her and then they shoot everybody else and kill him and then he like grabs the girl and the guy's like what are you doing? Like you know, it's like she can go to him with his protection, like everybody else, and they just load her up and go and it turns out, but he still told it die. He got shot through the cheeks of his face, nice, but which would hurt so much? The cheeks shot like all the teeth.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, you know your jaw, I mean yeah, the jaw, I mean.

Speaker 1:

even if, like you had your mouth open, it was just like one through both. But like if you got shot in the head, your teeth oh God, that's horrible. So he gets up.

Speaker 2:

I do like this, where he's driving down the road.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, he finds a vehicle and like he finds a gun, finds a vehicle, he he's driving along and a car passes him, cartel dudes, and he sees and he just pulls a grenade out. He's just, he pulls the pit and he just has it against like the drivers, like he's just driving with, like the window open, just blood all over the cars, blood over him, and they roll up just like popping shots off at me. He just like looks and just eats the grenade in the window.

Speaker 2:

And like they like before it explodes, you know like oh cool.

Speaker 1:

Done K, that was awesome. So he disappears and then you get like a fast forward scene.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

We're like that one kid like cause he jumps off, like with all the cartel guys.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like they're driving.

Speaker 1:

They're like, I guess, about what he did, or upset about what he did. He just jumps off the truck and, just like you know, puts his hands in his pockets and puts his shoulders up.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, the rest of the part where, like, he's walking through the food court, yeah, he's got all the tattoos to slick back.

Speaker 1:

You know he's looking like a total cartel boy and he like goes like his meat is contact and he walks in and he like punks out for a second to stare because it's Benicio del Toro.

Speaker 2:

He's like did I shoot?

Speaker 1:

you. It's like I shot you in the head and he's just like so he like. He's like, sit down, and he closed the door. He's like so you want to be a Sicario, let's talk about your future, and he closes the door and then movie ends. Still waiting for this.

Speaker 2:

I was going to say there's gotta be a sequel where you're teaching.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm still waiting for a third Sicario movie. I like these movies, oh yeah, they're pretty good.

Speaker 2:

They're really good movies. I've watched them multiple times.

Speaker 1:

I don't know when they're going to do Sicario three, but I give this movie like eight out of 10. The second one.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

The first one, I give like a seven out of 10. Just because you got to deal with Amy Blunt's just being annoying. Well, that was the car to day of the salado.

Speaker 2:

Guess what Chicken butt. I haven't heard that in a while Bringing it back. I guess what I got a PS5. Just so you know.

Speaker 1:

Wow so cool, Mitch so cool.

Speaker 2:

I know your jail is not going to feel it, but anyways I'm playing the new hit game which has made Starship Troopers popular again Hill divers too.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I've seen. So much for this game. I've seen a lot of videos from it too, but basically, I mean I've seen a lot of the mainstreamers been playing it. I mean Tomographic started like the Westie.

Speaker 2:

Like they're all. I mean. It's technically not Starship Troopers, but it is.

Speaker 1:

It looks like Starship Troopers Destiny Call of Duty Halo.

Speaker 2:

Well, to me it's a mix between Starship Troopers and Terminator Salvation.

Speaker 1:

My God.

Speaker 2:

But the Starship part. It actually starts off with this guy and it has like a little screen on the loading screen. It says like you know, your attention is required or else it's considered treason. But then it goes into like an infomercial, like Starship Troopers.

Speaker 1:

Would you like to know more?

Speaker 2:

Well, he's like talking. He's like you know you can live this wonderful life on Earth, but sometimes you know your family, they just need it. He goes oh my God, this bug comes out of nowhere, it kills the family. It's like ah, and then it cuts to another thing. He goes, that was me. Now, if you join the mobile infantry, he's like if you join the hell, divers, you know, like flashes to his head being shaved. It's like you have your chance for retribution. And it goes into this whole field, just like Starship Troopers, where it's kind of a parody talking about it, like it's your chance to get back.

Speaker 1:

I heard there was a lot of issues with the servers.

Speaker 2:

There was to start with, I thought you'd start with.

Speaker 1:

They didn't realize how quickly this game would explode to begin with, when I first got the game, like I would load in and it would be, like you know, servers are full, so you would count it like if you count down, as it would try to read every now and then, like the last like year, there's been games like that that just pop up out of nowhere and it's just like boom, everybody's playing it. Like only up, just pop that every. It's just like holy crap, only up. We got to play this and like people like punch it through the computers because that game is the most annoying thing in the world. And then what was the other one, like the Roblox battlefield game. Oh, battle bits, battle bits. That game exploded, yeah, out of nowhere. And now it's, it's just gone and then play pals. No one's playing play pals anymore. Our power, world, power, world, play pals, whatever. Yeah, I know it's held divers and it'll be something new, because I mean well, in the next two months, in April, when Erichary, when the Alton or it's June, I thought it was April 20, something.

Speaker 2:

It was coming out last I saw it was like June 20 something.

Speaker 1:

I thought it was April. Why am I getting April? I don't know.

Speaker 2:

But anyways, the the hell diverted. It does like Starship Trooper, starts off along the comedic cut scenes and dialogue, but it's a four player co-op game which has friendly fire on it, so you can accidentally nuke your own teammates if you're not careful, because basically you like, you'll call it what they call a stratagem, and basically it's like a little hand grenade that you throw and it'll either call down something or it'll like it shoots us laser in the sky so everybody can see where it's at. But basically you can either drop like like napalm, or you can drop a giant nuke. You can drop in Gatling guns and stuff to help out. But all that stuff like if the Gatling gun shooting and one of your teammates runs in front of it it'll kill him. So you gotta be strategic in where you place these things.

Speaker 1:

It's probably good that this happened when Hayden wasn't here. Hayden's notorious for team killing.

Speaker 2:

if it's possible, but the good part about this is team killing. Does you know good?

Speaker 1:

Well, every multiplayer game the three of us have played Hayden is the first one as soon as the three of us are standing there, he immediately will shoot or swing at one of us, just to see if friendly fire is a thing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but in this case it is. But like, the good part is like there's different resources and stuff that you can gather throughout the game. Anybody on your team gathers it, you all get it.

Speaker 1:

So how are the graphics?

Speaker 2:

They're amazing. They seem pretty good.

Speaker 1:

But I don't know if it was like it was playing at that kind of level?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean because you can change in the settings. You can either change it towards performance or quality. Mine's on performance and it still has great graphics and stuff. It looks pretty solid. But yeah, it's all the stuff that you earn. Everybody gets on the team. So there's no point to kill each other, you know, for items or whatever, because everybody gets it yeah.

Speaker 1:

There's no point in killing us, hayden.

Speaker 2:

But it's one of those live service games which it's made the way a live service game should be, where it's the entire community against the AI.

Speaker 1:

So you're just out there with everybody.

Speaker 2:

Well, you only see four people on your team, okay, what about like just other people?

Speaker 1:

You'll never see other teams, not like in Destiny, where, like you're, you see just other people just going about.

Speaker 2:

Right On this you'll only ever see your squad. But like whatever you like, when you accomplish an objective, however much you finish between the main objective, the side objectives closing off like bug holes and stuff in the ground, whatever you complete, it'll be a percentage towards the whole goal of the community, which is to take back different planets. And there's low bars on each planet before you start, which shows the progress that the community is making against the community.

Speaker 1:

So it's a community effort, right? That's awesome.

Speaker 2:

Like I've watched, like TikTok has they'll have this, subscribe to this part. It's like, uh, Super Earth updates, where it says like hey, you know, this planet's kind of a lost cause because we have like an hour before this campaign closes, so everybody should focus all their efforts on this planet, you know kind of get in there and get mean, get evil and it's pretty fun, Like I said, um, but the part that's between, like Starship Troopers and Terminator Salvation is on one side of the of the earth, like going out towards the right. it's all bugs and like, like the big bugs, the little acid spit ones, all sorts of different types. So it's acid spitting bugs. There's easy, medium, challenging and hard for your four modes that I know of. There might be one more you playing on easy. No, no, like you, you as you. Oh, it's, it's okay, it scales but then you like, you can do matchmaking and join in with other people, but then, like you have on the left side of Super Earth, going out towards that side of the galaxy is the automatons, which is basically like sky and head on steroids, because there's like big chicken Walker looking things that come that shoot at you. There's these big robots that actually one has a shield and it's shooting like you know, like a right shield kind of thing. There's some that are giant to have, like these two chainsaw blades. There's some that they're almost like the T 800, without like the skin. It's just a robot run after you shoot. And then there's like they actually have like big bases and stuff that will shoot giant blast that you if you get too close, without disabling them. So there's a lot going on that side of the of the universe is a lot.

Speaker 1:

How long has this game been out?

Speaker 2:

since February 7th.

Speaker 1:

Oh, this is brand brand new yeah.

Speaker 2:

But it's a lot of fun. It's like a $40 game. Like to buy the base version.

Speaker 1:

It's on all consoles.

Speaker 2:

Nope, just PS five and PC at the moment, but there's been a lot of. Like you know, normally PlayStation or whoever has an exclusive, is like oh yeah, it's ours, you can't play it. Haha, the PS five and PC players are like begging the the devs, to put it for Xbox, because they need help defending the planets.

Speaker 1:

We need more men. There's actually people at the Xbox guys.

Speaker 2:

There's people that put out like the Xbox players have been training for this their entire lives. They've been fighting the horror to the covenant. We need their help.

Speaker 1:

This is their moment. People have made like they've been training for this for the last 20 years.

Speaker 2:

Well, people have made like videos and stuff of like the hell.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, dude, you have halo and gears of war.

Speaker 2:

Then it shows the old ODST trailer of them getting ready Like a hell diver. Guy dies on that screen and then it shows them burying him and the ODST guy putting the helmet on and going out. They've actually put out a petition where it's gotten 75,000 votes to put it on Xbox. Damn, they need we. I say they, I'm part of them. We need help.

Speaker 1:

We need your help.

Speaker 2:

We're getting getting destroyed, but it does. It has amazing graphics, it's got the strategy my blocks, which is like what I was telling you the you can call down different special weapons. You can call down the airstrikes and all kinds of stuff and whatever you're going to call a strategy. Basically you have to hold down the left bumper and put in, like the directional buttons, like It'll be like four or five, almost like a Like you're doing the cheat codes for my back. No, it's not, you have to put it up down left.

Speaker 1:

So if right, right, x square pretty much.

Speaker 2:

You got to do those while you're holding down left bumper. But you also have to do that to call in, like if your god dies, you have so many lives and you can throw. You have to do that to throw the little beacon to summon it back, so like if you're being chased or the middle of a fight. It's kind of hard to do. Hey, it's like bye back. But there's also like booster modifiers, that like if you put it on your character and dust up for the whole team. I was cool and as you level up, like there's different guns and the battle pass, there's a free version and then there's, you know, the upgraded one which gives you some better stuff. But I mean it. You don't have to do that. You can get just as good things without it. But it's pretty fun because, like, everything that you do In game gives you points so you can unlock on both sides of it. So nice, it's worth it. It's definitely a fun game. It's better when you have a team. It's terrifying when you play by yourself Because you'll run into stuff and you're just out. I mean, you're just outnumbered. There'd be like 50 bugs and you so. But like it does good where it makes it worse. Not too easy, because it takes a good bit to kill the bugs and and you, you only have limited amount of ammo. But you can call in resupplies and when you call it a resupply you fill up and then you have to wait for it to cool down before you can call it another resupply. So it does it doesn't.

Speaker 1:

You need a squad.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it doesn't get job of balancing.

Speaker 1:

How many people in the squad? Four, four, that's used to be three. Yeah, like the old fire team days.

Speaker 2:

But uh, yeah when we played out riders out riders. Yeah, that's three. Three, that was such as three.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the room is three out riders was a game that we just trudged through on principle. Yeah the place of the different we, yeah, we were running through the beginning of the game and we're just like.

Speaker 2:

What a week or two. Came back and we were already maxed out.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we beat the game. We're just like yeah, you know we can drag you to the end. It's fine, like we did with Elden Ring.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but that's all I have for that game. I give it. I give a 7.5 because it does get repetitive and the friendly fire is kind of annoying like the repetitive isn't really that bad, because I mean it is fun.

Speaker 1:

So can people who are not on your squad kill you?

Speaker 2:

No, like it's you always see your four people.

Speaker 1:

Okay, never see, just random other like.

Speaker 2:

In the distance You'll see dropships shooting people down, but it's all just cinematic in the background.

Speaker 1:

Okay, it's not actual.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you'll never run into another squad, it's just it just keeps up your stats with everybody else's to push towards the community goal. Hmm, but yeah, your squad can kill you. Yes, it's happened many times, I think, because sometimes they'll throw down like well, I don't have voice chat on because I'm playing on a PlayStation and I don't just don't care to talk to anybody because I don't know Anybody else, but they'll throw down stuff and not give me any heads up, and then you'll just get nuked because they all ran away while you're still in the middle of the fight.

Speaker 1:

Oh, if only someone said something before I get incinerated.

Speaker 2:

Well, cuz I call it duty, you can like ping stuff, no, but it's in a word I just get annihilated.

Speaker 1:

I mean just run away from the entire team and it's like Mitch, where are you? There's too many of them, mitch. There was one person.

Speaker 2:

I have to say, though, that does come in handy here, because when the people die, I Of course it does. I have the lightweight armor because what I've noticed is that no matter what your armor is Like, even the heavy stuff, you still die pretty quick. But the lightweight armor it allows me to run away from most of stuff to where I can like outrun them and call in the Well, like if everybody dies, if I think if everybody dies, like it's over. So you one person's got to stay alive to some of the stuff back. So I have, like the speed or the the lightweight armor so I can run faster, so I can get away from the bugs. Like stop doing a little button presses calling somebody, I'll run a little further, stop doing a little button press. It's so funny, because the bugs just keep chasing you, like if they see you though, just pursue you until you kill them. She's so they're relentless.

Speaker 1:

Wait, people in war zone? Yeah, once they see what it's like, it's like. I don't care if we have to go across the map and it's not, you know we can. It's inconvenient for everybody.

Speaker 2:

But anyways, that's all I had for hell. Divers. Like I said, I give it a 7.5 because it is a lot of fun. It would probably be more fun if I had people that I wanted to probably be interested to see how fast it comes to Xbox. If it comes to Xbox, I'll get it on Xbox we could play, but because I feel like they need to capitalize on the momentum.

Speaker 1:

I would think so this game has right now.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, to keep it.

Speaker 1:

You know, keep it going.

Speaker 2:

Anyways, we'll move on to our news, which you wanted to talk about Elden Ring in this episode.

Speaker 1:

Elden ring.

Speaker 2:

Take on the other the other.

Speaker 1:

That animation thing is still like the best Spoof animation. I've seen it forever. What's the take on Elden ring?

Speaker 2:

Oh.

Speaker 1:

Grace, we spa If this game All right. Well, tell us about the they released a trailer for the DLC.

Speaker 2:

I haven't seen the trailer.

Speaker 1:

It's like two minutes. It's like two and a half minutes, shadow of the archery. So Micaela Is who you're gonna be, which I guess, the main bad guy, from what I've gathered in that millennia's brother.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so Well, millennia is millennia. Blade of Micaela. They're twins, okay, the twin prodigies is what they're called. But Micaela went to fuse himself with an archery and Got kidnapped by Moog. The blood lord.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 1:

I'm having to say something. I've watched a lot of lore for this game.

Speaker 2:

The blood lord is the one that you go to find the cheese box.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you find him, and then you you can come a maya him, kill him like that. I think we just beat the snot out of him.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, we pretty much got about the time he took a hit him at range.

Speaker 1:

Hey, it was stabbing him in the thigh. And then I would just run and come in with a giant bonk swords and just leap through the air and hit him up in the head and like we took him out in like four minutes yeah, it's not less. But so that's the main bad guy For this one. And then I'm pretty sure I had to watch. I watched a video where somebody's going through like bits by bits of what's happened Because there's new spots in the game.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, well, I said that the new DLC is gonna be like the size of Limgrave, which is an entire area in Limgrave.

Speaker 1:

I think it's huge.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was like before you get to.

Speaker 1:

Kale it and Learnea, yeah, and Kale, it's just nightmare feel. So there's a whole new area like like I think there's 25 new bosses Okay they were talking about plus new weapons, armor, incantation spells, all kinds of cool stuff that trail with awesome.

Speaker 2:

I still gotta watch the trailer.

Speaker 1:

I hadn't seen it because did they show Micola and he looks like radagon. Okay with the red hair and Obviously not at the crepe it mess. Yeah, so you got to fight him, I'm assuming, at some point. But the armors and stuff looks cool. I don't know, how many different set armors there are. Okay that there. I don't know how the DLC starts I Get. What point in the game do you already like?

Speaker 2:

After the earth, trees burnt down.

Speaker 1:

Think wouldn't I think so. I don't know I hadn't seen like where it will, like pick up, because I mean we already have new game plus characters Me, you and Hayden both do well mean, when this comes out June 20th, what matter, it's still gonna be, wherever the hell he is, me and you well, in several Evan, yeah, uh, maids, brother-in-law who we played with who was a lot better at the game than we were. Yeah, we already have cheese characters.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I got, you know, the super bunk sword. You know nothing but strength, giga-chad, strength, dexterity, endurance and health. That's all that guy has maxed out. I'm swinging the giant, great, sort, colossal, great swords. I got the raptor armor where I jump in the air and I get the like the 20% plus boost. I can buff both swords. You can like throw lightning bolts at people like Zeus to knock them down, I think from your character, yep, and we got pretty far with our other side characters.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I started cheese them too. So, those are. Both of those were magic characters that we made, though. Oh yeah, cuz we watched the video series because I had like the death mage Yep and you, I remember I liked the other one that does like the comet stuff.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you like the comet warlock or whatever it was something like that. So I mean either way, like wherever the games, I mean obviously I kind of want to do it on a new game plus. Yeah, I mean it's probably it's gonna be harder a little bit, but our characters are gonna be strong enough to hopefully deal with it hopefully but this DLC. They're like do I get like practically a new game, yeah, which I'm super excited about? Yeah, it's been two years since Elden Ring and that was like one of the most fun experiences. Let me first One of the most enjoyable multiplayer experiences I've ever had. There wasn't a first person that was not a first person shooter, no, even even over first person shoes. Like this was like when we, like, when warzone first happened Okay, fun, yeah, when we were really really good and then call it to you, systematically start to destroy it Because they couldn't help themselves, but just playing, like me, you, hayden or Evan, like us going around exploring stuff, figuring out stuff together, like, oh, let's drag Hayden through this boss. Or like, oh, we got to get this. Or like me losing my mind. I'm like a platforming bit, like all of it was just it was a very fun. Cuz we played for like three months of just Elden Ring, because it just took that long and, like you know, our off days when we Could all three were all four of us play. It was. You know it was so much fun. We were playing for hours. Yeah, just getting places and like all fighting a boss because they're like a like I like go in. It's like alright, I beat the boss and it's like alright, mitch's turn.

Speaker 2:

Sorry, just take turns, fight the same guy, just get us all through just to get us all through.

Speaker 1:

I don't like losing it because we beat millennia, the hardest boss in the game.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, before they accidentally buffed her.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because if she was already, whatever it was, and they did some patch, but it actually made her stronger yeah, and that's when we got to her and we're like, ah, and we did it. Yeah Me and you did it. I think Hayden did it too.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, all three of us beat him.

Speaker 1:

I just say that we figured out a genius way with the three of us. Mitch would knock her down with whatever the lightning bolt thing was. I would come out from downtown with the double bunk swords and take like a third of her health. Well, because I would run up and just smack her.

Speaker 2:

And then run away. I would do the lightning which was strong enough to knock her off her feet, and then what she fell. You'd run up and start beating down on her and then, as she's getting back to her feet, I'd hit her again with my lightning.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, she would fall in here and I'm going to go smack her around and then run off and then, like you know, rebuff and get ready for the next one, and then you'd knock her down again. We run. If she got to her feet, we were in trouble. Yes, yes, because she would have always found every time they would just go right after Hayden. Every time it didn't matter who was aggroed, they'd just go right at Hayden. And he had the least amount of health out of the three of us Because he was a light build, he was a super light build. Like he did not put enough points into vigor.

Speaker 2:

He was a light build that used knives, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Whereas you were. I don't remember what your first character was.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I was kind of like a magic knight kind of thing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you were like doing, like a paladin to do. I was doing just straight tank. I could take the hits and I could dish out the hits. I could take out like a third of someone's health if I buff both swords and could jump and tack them.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Because a lot of my swords and stuff I use had either they would shoot flames or they would shoot like that wave of energy kind of stuff.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I remember. And then obviously me and you, we spent like two weeks cheesing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I got my character light level 200 and something yeah.

Speaker 1:

We were well into the 200s by the time we beat the game, whereas I think level 125 was like the soft cap of pretty much where you needed to be and had just whatever attributes. Where I build, you were running. You were fine, you could do it, we just kept going. We were just like more, more strength, but it looks like the fire giants back. It looked different, though, yeah, it looked definitely using like a fire pit, but with feet and arms. But I mean it's a weird game. The game's just straight nightmare fuel. It showed some like crazy looking lion boss thing. That was like horrifying. I mean the game. I mean it's an awesome trailer for a DLC. I mean I'm super excited to play this.

Speaker 2:

Well, moving on to some other news, they showed that there's a new the PS5 is going to have a Wolverine game, kind of like the Spider-Man story mode. Well, the trailer got leaked. And I didn't get to see the trailer before they took it down.

Speaker 1:

It's got to still be out there.

Speaker 2:

Well, they went hard to try and take it back down. But they said in the trailer it's like an extremely violent game, good, like it's what Wolverine would be Exactly Because there was a Wolverine game back in the old days. Yeah, on PS2.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was on PS2. And the original Xbox. That game was violent as well.

Speaker 2:

It was fun, though it was awesome.

Speaker 1:

It's Wolverine, Like you have metal scissor claws coming out of your knuckles. Of course it's going to be violent.

Speaker 2:

Also there's a new NCAA college football that'll be coming out.

Speaker 1:

Didn't they come out with one last year? No, not yet, so that still hasn't happened.

Speaker 2:

This will be the first one, and the EA has actually said they will pay $600 to each player that wants theirself to be motion captured, like their face and stuff in the game.

Speaker 1:

And the NCAA is OK with that, or they're not going to just turn around and go. You accept the money.

Speaker 2:

No, the NCAA have actually said that the players can't get money for things, that you'll use their likeness. Now what?

Speaker 1:

is the NCAA stand for.

Speaker 2:

National College Athletic Association maybe.

Speaker 1:

You remember that episode of Blue Mountain State where they're going against the NCAA and Alex figures out that it's like how are you guys in charge? And they're like some matrix bad guys, they're like agent Smith dudes. And he's just like there's nothing at all in any Constitution, charter treaties, nothing and any documentation that gives you guys the right to do whatever it is you do.

Speaker 2:

Speaking of Blue Mountain State. I heard they're trying to do a sequel, the Allen Richardson, because the reach is so popular and he's become such a popular actor. He's trying to get a sequel made, which they haven't revealed what it would be, but I would imagine he's got to be in the NFL at this point. I would think that at this point they should come back as, like the coaches for the college team, because they want to bring back the main actors. They should bring them back as the coaches.

Speaker 1:

Dreams.

Speaker 2:

Trying to figure out how to coach this team to a player Coach this team to a champion or something.

Speaker 1:

It's so hard because Rachel Watchreacher, she loves the show and I just can't. And she's like why? And I'm like Allen Richardson and she's like you just don't like him. I was like no, I just see that castle. I was like it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2:

Did you show her that castle? I did, I showed her a bit and she's screaming.

Speaker 1:

He's like get away. And he's like, were they all on the drug binge? And he's got burnt shoulder pads and he sees the girl with the things running out, he's like woo, and she's dying. I'm like that's the Allen Richardson I was introduced to, it's like with Chris Pratt when he became like Star Lord, like this suave big action guy, and I'm like that's Andy Dwyer. That's Andy, you're not going to fool me.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, that's supposedly they're trying to work on a sequel for that they showed that?

Speaker 1:

Because isn't the movie bomb?

Speaker 2:

It was not good, Well it was a straight like the Netflix kind of movie. It wasn't great, but it was still funny. It just wasn't till the second.

Speaker 1:

I don't know why that show got canceled.

Speaker 2:

Well, because that kind of ran out of material. You only have so many years in college. I love cocaine, I love boats. I'm just picturing that scene.

Speaker 1:

She's like covered in blood all over his face. Are there drugs on this boat? No, and he's got like the condom across his face. He's like covered in cocaine. He's just like no, it's like loves his country, loves cocaine. The coaches. Or the ice rot thing when they kept passing out from the heat and one of them kept doing it just because he liked it, because he would like it. Like high off of it where they shove like the ice right up the butt. The oil change.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that was painful, oh God. But, yeah, that's the.

Speaker 2:

that's the Ellen Richardson, I knew, anyways there's also the X-Men 97 cartoon, which is going to be a continuation of the original 90s X-Men cartoon coming to Disney Plus in March, where in the end of that one Professor X died the original cartoon. So now Magneto everything's been left to him according to the will. So now he's leading the X-Men. Dun dun, dun, dun dun dun dun, dun, dun, dun dun. There's a pretty big chance that the next Call of Duty they said the was it they Gulf War, or it's going to be a Black Ops game. Well, it says Phil Spencer suggests the next Call of Duty will launch day one on Game Pass. That's what he's saying. And there's this high public.

Speaker 1:

And they said they weren't going to do one this year. They were going to go to the every other year.

Speaker 2:

And they continued to do it Just like nah, we need more money. Also, there's a new WWE 2K24 game.

Speaker 1:

Oh, thank god.

Speaker 2:

Comes out on March 8. It's going to have 200 wrestlers to choose from, and they are.

Speaker 1:

I couldn't name 200 wrestlers.

Speaker 2:

Well, here they are, right here Macho man, randy Savage, ravishing, rick Rude, rowdy Pottie Lyft.

Speaker 1:

Rowdy Piper.

Speaker 2:

Stone Cold, steve Austin, superstar, billy Graham, andre the Giant Bad Bunny.

Speaker 1:

Two hours later.

Speaker 2:

The Undertaker Ultimate Warrior, and there was a Yokozuna.

Speaker 1:

That was a lot of people I didn't know. There was that many wrestlers, a lot of names. I feel like you were just making. You were just reading stuff out of a phone book.

Speaker 2:

Well, it's going off the 40 year anniversary of WrestleMania, so they have people from the last 40 years on this game.

Speaker 1:

As long as you get to play as Hulk Hogan.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, he's on here too, but there's that there's actually going to be a live action Naruto that's being made by the person that made Shang-Chi.

Speaker 1:

Marvel movie. I don't like that.

Speaker 2:

After seeing Avatar, the Last Airbender on Netflix, the new one it's actually pretty good.

Speaker 1:

So if they make it in that vein, I can see where it can work, as long as it's not like Dragon Ball Evolution.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

Or the other, the first, avatar, the Last Air, the movie with M Night Shalamon.

Speaker 2:

And then the last bit of news I have is Cavill has been officially casted as someone in the MCU, but they haven't revealed who. So there's Union Jack. Well, there's two different theories.

Speaker 1:

Captain Britain.

Speaker 2:

They said that Captain Britain was a suggestion, but they said that it wouldn't make sense for what they're doing in Marvel. So I said that the two people that they're theorizing is either Cyclops with the X-Men when that comes out or Dr Noom. So I mean like I said they haven't revealed.

Speaker 1:

Debbie, debbie, going against the grain. If he did Dr Doom, he doesn't do bad guy roles really.

Speaker 2:

I know.

Speaker 1:

Except in, like you know, Mission Impossible.

Speaker 2:

That's the two rumors so far.

Speaker 1:

I'd be interested Because I think I've been hearing a lot of stuff that are going to go with Dr Doom as the next big bad guy.

Speaker 2:

Well, because the Fantastic Four, Pedro Pascal, is going to be Reed Richards.

Speaker 1:

I don't like that casting personally.

Speaker 2:

I think Emily Blunt, no, no, well, I can't remember if she's going to be.

Speaker 1:

No, I don't think she's going to be. I don't think she's going to be Susan Starr. But anyways I really think that they should just go left field and bring Chris Evans and a Johnny Swing?

Speaker 2:

and just not address it.

Speaker 1:

And just like you look, just like Captain America and like have him look at himself as Captain Goh, I don't see it.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, I mean, supposedly he's been cast, but they haven't revealed what the role is. That's pretty much all the news I had.

Speaker 1:

Let's see That'd be funny having him as Dr Doom, because he's wearing the mask, because that's bonded to his skin.

Speaker 2:

They did reveal the new Superman symbol for the next movie. It'll be like the, what you call it, the Kingdom Come symbol, which is, let's see I don't have a picture of it, but it's that one. But, instead of black and red, it'll be yellow and red. But, that's pretty interesting. I thought it depends on how they go with the direction they go with. That.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, who's James Gunn? Yes, he's in charge of this. Now I'm going to do a Batman. Are they keeping our bats?

Speaker 2:

They are, but he's going to be like an Elts world where it's going to be its own universe.

Speaker 1:

OK, but I mean, they got to do a DC super Batman.

Speaker 2:

They are doing a Batman Brave in the Bold, which will have Damien in it, and then for this world that they're building, it's already established characters, like they've already been in this world, so they're not like reintroducing another origin story for all of them. So, although all his movies are pretty much of the original Justice League are going to be like they're established in this world. Here's what they're doing now.

Speaker 1:

I just don't get how DC continuously screws up their live action movies when their animated ones have been so good for so long.

Speaker 2:

Well, because the animated has pretty much been all one department, but the head of Warner Brothers and stuff has kept changing, because they keep selling the company to a different person and then another president takes over.

Speaker 1:

It's like I want new Batman.

Speaker 2:

And lastly, what's going to go ahead and cover is Power Rangers has been announced that they're in 2025. They're trying to make a one hour episode series, like. Each episode will be one hour on Netflix.

Speaker 1:

This is going to be not using.

Speaker 2:

Right, it'll be all American footage now, but that's really the only.

Speaker 1:

Have they shown like any, like concept art or.

Speaker 2:

No, that's just the first announcement that it's probably going to be a one hour show on Netflix.

Speaker 1:

That's really the only thing that's going to be on Netflix now.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, well, because technically, netflix owns the rights to put it on there, because that's where the last three seasons or Saban is the last two or three seasons have all been strictly on Netflix. But, Hasbro actually owns them now, so that's right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah that's the news that I had.

Speaker 2:

It's pretty good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's not bad. Now we're seven minutes. Look at us. Look at us, go Doing a podcast.

Speaker 2:

All right, well, if you enjoy what we listen to now, if you there are certain movies that you want to recommend.

Speaker 1:

Predator or Predator, if there's other stuff you want to hear more about, let us know. We don't need any prompting to talk about Predator.

Speaker 2:

If there's any bad movies that you want us to look at, let us know. Stick around. Well, we'll see what we can find All right. Well, that's it for me.

Speaker 1:

And me. You know what to do. I don't know why. I said it like Arnold. He doesn't say it in Star Trek 3. He's like Rico. You know what to do? End the show.
