And I've seen six sentai in their entirety and they like doing that with their end themes. Their end themes will be often very silly and very upbeat. Cocker Ranger does the same thing. Actually, just rewatched an episode of Cocker Ranger last night and I forgot. Oh yeah, the ending credit sequence in this show is basically the thriller music video with Blue Sandax.

Here you have Power Rangers, which you have Zord on an alpha, who recruit five teenagers with attitudes, overbearing and emotional teenager. I need to angst After Rita was released after 10,000 years sealed away. And then Judo Ranger. They're like heirs to a tribe from some prehistoric.

What gets to me is as goofy as Power Rangers gets his points. Saban looked at that and said that's a bridge too far. I think we'll leave that out. And then, two seasons later, they've got Rita in their own footage doing the fan thing. Her brother goes off and blows up the swords and she does a conga line to celebrate.

I don't know how that happened, but it did and they're on a table and they have like a landmine on a string and like he's setting up, like all these little glasses to like condense, like their sunlight into like a beam, like a magnifying glass to burn the rope and it'll take exactly one hour for it to snap and destroy the kids.

Yeah, bandora is sadistic, although and I said this on the power trip, you might remember this, michael I said really the characterization between Rita and Bandora is not all that different. Bandora just gets to go more extreme. That's the only difference. Otherwise they are extreme. Like I said, through the characterization they're almost the same character.

I think you're right, nathan, I don't want to kind of, I don't want to belabor the point, but it's like she was Bandora was able to go further, but that was due, but that wasn't, but that was just due to cultural. That's a lot of, a lot of the things. A lot of the differences in your Ranger and Power Rangers it's just come down to cultural differences and I think a lot of the, a lot of the stuff that that you may be even dislike, that I had even a hard time with with, with Super Sentai in general, was a lot of those cultural differences, just because there was just as a dirty, dirty America. There's just some things that I couldn't understand, that I couldn't understand without, like, digging deep, deep into research. But go ahead. And then I heard you trying to make a quote.

And then he's like, ok, and it's like those are the bad guys. They shouldn't be cheering you on. These are things called clues. Ha ha, ha ha. I think it's great. Like he gets like force ejected from the cave and like beaten up with some Styrofoam rocks, and like Burai shows up and like he just runs out to him, he's like oh, burai, so you didn't see the eyes. It's like I was saying you just. And he's just like Errol and just eats this kid. And he's like I don't understand. And they're like, oh, it's not your fault. It's like no, I watched this episode. This was entirely his fault. I can go scene by scene and tell you how he screwed up.

Cultural Differences in Power Rangers

Oh it was. Some of it was definitely for the best, some of it was cultural differences. Cultural, yeah, because that's really what it boils down to the difference, the difference between power injuries and, since I just called, and. I think that's hang on me and that's, and that's probably why it made it so difficult for Nathan and I to get through it all. And I, because I think we, under Nathan, I think you and I underestimated just how difficult it was going to be to get through sent I because of just how much? Just because of how much that cultural differences plus you've got 50 episodes first, you got 50 season. It's all sub-titled. There's cultural differences. You got a research. I mean it's just, it just turned into a lot. It did, it did, although what's kind of ironic about you, ranger, is that it's clearly steeped in Western fairy tales and all, and yeah, and all the monsters are well, not all. The most of the monsters are derived from Greek mythology, but it's just really weird because you would think that most of that would register with Westerners, but instead, you know, like, like daughter, daughter cockatrice became chunky chicken. You know, and they leave out all of the all the mythological connections, it's just a pet chicken.

No, they did adapt it, but they left out the entire story bitch from it, because the monster and the and the fight Prometh are in power Rangers week, as it was the one. It was the monster that in power rangers named hatchesaurus I forget what his name is in Gearranger.

It's actually my favorite. It's actually my favorite episode of Gearranger because the entire story around it is about Dragon Caesar becomes the dragon sword of power Rangers, warning the death of barai, because that's the other difference is that the mecca in this are actually live and they have emotional Connections to the Rangers. So barai dies and dragon Caesar is warning that, even though his brother has now basically inherited the mantle. But even Gekki that is a Gekki is just basically just telling him to get over it. And then you have this weirdly emotional moment at the end of the episode which Technically it's a power Rangers, but they take all of the, but they completely changes so it doesn't have the emotional resonance where Gekki basically says I'm sorry, I miss him too, and then the Dragon Caesar gets a second win and go and then goes over and helps kill the monster. It's Nathan, it's Dora, on pay us, on pay us. That's right, yeah, cuz I think that is a Giant in Greek mythology. What a shame.

Yeah, but, as I was saying, that's because Mighty Morphin borrowed from two other centers. Right, yeah, because you can see the hard-flocked differences. So really, the only comparisons you can make are two season one of MMPR, which is the first 60 episodes, and even then the argument can be made that it's really only the first 40, well, actually, maybe like the first 41 or so, because most of the last 20 episodes are what are called U2, because the show got so popular that Saban actually told Toei, can you make footage just for us, but with the same costume? And they did so. You watched those last 40 episodes and you can tell that it's footage from Japan, but none of that was in G-Ranger, because they made it the old footage of Power Rangers. Well, that's not entirely true, because there was one episode in those later episodes that was that did have. I think it was 41. With the camera that could control the weather. Yeah right, I'm just saying the majority of the last 20 episodes was brand new footage that Saban commissioned Toei to make for them, which is just crazy to think about. So it's unique. That is unique to Power Rangers.

They were originally going to follow the finale of G-Ranger a little more closely, because in G-Ranger the Rangers end up actually invading the castle where Bandora and her crew are. And they had actually initially planned on doing something like that in Power Rangers because they thought it would be done after 40 episodes. So it got so popular that they ended up changing their plan so that they could keep it going, make more money. Yeah baby. Well, instead, that's where you get the ending to that episode where Zordon is like okay, guys, you've done your duty, you've served, you've done things that you went beyond the call of duty. Yada, yada, yada. Now comes the time that I have to ask you do you still want to do the thing? And that's when they say yes, that's when that is the transition point between the G-Ranger footage and the G2 footage. So everything starts fresh with those later 20 episodes.

Yeah, most of us end type footage, but the, the finales were really good. And the CGI, all the special effects it was, the production value for Cosmic Fury and Dino Fury are excellent. I will never forget how one of the biggest revelations in that last episode went over your head until I explained it Because it doesn't exist. Oh, I wasn't even paying it. That's how, that's how rant mastering he was doing, I was, so it went right over his head. So thrilled with range, I was so fuming, I was fuming, I was fuming at this freaking episode that I missed the part where it is said that that Zato is Zord off. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. He Zato encounters a being who looks like him in the grid right and said it's, it's just like I used to say May the power protect you. And then it was left and it went right over your head. I don't like you know. No, did that not register? No, no, no, it didn't register. Because you know what my, my happy little 1993 lovin heart wanted to see. Actually, lord on, not, not, they know, pretending to be bored, all right. Well, I think the idea potentially was that they were setting up there that there could be more.
