Laine and Meg of Plot Trysts join us, Wendy and Toni, again to talk Bridgerton of course! Listeners, be warned, this episode contains spoilers especially if you haven’t finished book four of the series. Considering Shondaland is behind the show and that means drama, there are some scenes that’ll have us anxiously waiting to see how it was handled, especially the seed scene from “The Duke and I” and when will our heroines and heroes have their meet-cute. Although there’s no confirmation on more seasons, how much world building will there be? There are some changes to the books already. We have Marina Thompson sooner than later, but why is Colin hanging around her? There is no Felicity Featherington casted, so who’ll be Penelope’s champion and Hyacinth’s best friend? We expect a lot of back handed comments from Cressida if the Cowpers are in the films starting this season. Because there is a yearly Smythe-Smith musicale, hopefully the Bridgertons and Featheringtons will attend the events, but we’ll gladly accept if the Smythe-Smith Quartet series turns into a show too. We would like to see John Stirling early to fall in love with him before ya’ know. The big question is when will Lady Whistledown be revealed? Like Laine says, the show can’t cast Julie Andrews and kick her off before the finale season, it’s just not done. Maybe breaking up a pivotal book into numerous seasons would be in order, which Meg wouldn’t mind if that means more Colin. Our theories are good, but we don’t mind being wrong. We’ll address how wrong we were on how to adapt the show to film during a post-show crossover session. Until then, Happy Holidays and enjoy Bridgerton on Christmas Day!
