Inside all of us is a dedicated team of internal “managers” — the parts of our personality that organize, plan, and keep life on track. They operate with a single unspoken mantra:

“Never again will I be caught off guard.”

In this episode of Antifragilient OS – NowShift Daily Transmissions, Dr. Abhimanyou Raathore (Clinical Psychologist & Functional Medicine Practitioner) unpacks the hidden dynamics of these psychological protectors — how they keep you functioning, and what happens when they get overburdened.

When balanced, managers are your greatest allies — reliable, capable, and steady. But under strain, they can morph into perfectionists, inner critics, or controlling voices that never let you rest. They push you to “get it done” while quietly carrying the weight of keeping you safe.

The breakthrough comes when these managers are unburdened — freed from fear-driven overprotection. In this state, they become wise advisors, patient caregivers, and visionary leaders who use their skills in service of real growth rather than relentless control.

Through Dr. Raathore’s guided self-reflection, you’ll:

  • Spot your own manager parts in action
  • Understand their fears and motivations
  • Recognize the ways they’ve protected you over the years
  • Learn how to thank them — and lead them into balance

🎧 Listen now and discover how to support the hardest-working parts of yourself so they can finally support you.

Speaker 1:

Today is August 7th 2025. My name is Dr Abhimanyu Rathore. I'm the founder of the Anti-Fragilient Operating System. Here is the anti-fragilient transmission for the day. Yesterday, I introduced the three types of parts that we have the managers, the firefighters, firefighters and the exiles. Now, today, let's go into a little bit more detail and I'll give you an exercise by the end of the session today, the transmission today, which will help you understand the managers better.

Speaker 1:

Now, let's understand these managers. Managers have only one mantra, and their mantra is that never again will I be caught off guard. Okay, because they believe a lot in proactivity, and you know, these are the parts of our personalities with whom we identify the most. You know, we end up saying things like that, like I am a great organizer, or whenever people want somebody to do something right, they call me. And these are the parts that attempt to keep our daily life running smoothly. You know, because by planning for, by controlling all aspects of our life and the fact of the matter is this we all need our managers to function in our life, and the fact of the matter is this we all need our managers to function in our life. Okay, now the problem comes when these managers are burdened. When they are burdened, they can become perfectionists, they can become critical, they can become obsessive and, you know, these parts then become known for shooting on you. What does that mean? That means they'll end up talking like this that you should be studying or you should be going to the gym, you know. And burdened managers also have trouble resting and when asked, they will often say they're quite exhausted, they're burnt out, in a bad shape and many a times they see the firefighters as working against them and they tend to deny that the problems have their root in the past Because the managers are so focused in the future. That's the reason the past is not something they're looking at Now. Let's understand, as I told you quite some time ago in one of our transmissions, that when these parts, when their shadowed behavior, you know, gets removed from them, suddenly they can show up as talents, as gifts. So that unburdened manager of yours, how does that person look? Or how does that part look? Or how does that part look, or how do these parts look when managers are unburdened and they're no longer driven by exile, distress, they use their planning and organizing skills in very effective ways and they make great teachers, caregivers, bosses and leaders, so imagine they're so important for us.

Speaker 1:

Now, ready for some exercise. Here it comes. Now I would like you to get curious about how do you accomplish things in your everyday life. You know, and when you think about this, these might be some of your managers. Next Now, do you have any sense of what these managerial parts are afraid would happen if they stop functioning in this way? Think about that and also think about how might these parts have helped you in your early life, might these parts have helped you in your early life? And, of course, also take this moment to extend some gratitude toward the parts who keep things running smoothly, that's, your managers. Okay, so I'll see you tomorrow and we'll talk about the next part tomorrow in a little bit more detail. Do let me know how you're liking these sessions. Are they making life more manageable, livable, better thrivable, if there's a term like that? Okay, I would love to hear from you and I'll see you tomorrow. Bye-bye.
