Hello! Hello! And welcome back to the show. Excited as always to be here with you today.

Today I want to talk about a subject that

I mean if there's any subject that probably gets brought up more than anything else I can imagine. In my line of work which is mindset of work, it's doubting yourself. It's watching yourself. It's

not trusting who you are, what you're capable of.

And so I really wanted to talk about. Talk about that today because something that you know, even myself, I've been

man. I've been on my personal development journey, for I mean an entire lifetime. But in terms of

recognizing that journey and understanding that journey. I've been on this journey for probably 25 years now. Yeah, because it was 1999 when I got my 1st introduction into personal development.

I've shared the story before, but you know I got into a management position at a company, and they gave me some books to start reading.

One of the 1st ones I read was 7 habits of highly effective people by Stephen Covey.

and got in introduced to that. And was it Spencer Spencer? Somebody, I think he did like, you know, who moved my cheese, but anyway, got into this whole idea of, you know, personal development, personal growth, and learning about myself who I was.

And you know, just over that journey. The thing that you hear over and over and over and over again is, you know, the imposter syndrome, the doubting yourself, the question yourself, and wondering, you know

why? Why me, what makes me so special? What makes me capable of doing these things. And you know, when we look at ourselves and we see what other people are doing, we start comparing ourselves to them.

We start doubting, you know, because we we just see the polished version of them. We don't see the behind the scenes, versions of them.

So you get this over and over, and over and over again. It's like, you know. How do I stop doubting myself and questioning myself?

And so I want to share some insights into that today, and just let me, you know, start off by asking you

when you doubt yourself, when you question yourself, how does it help you

in any way, shape or form. How does it truly help you? And there there are some small, subtle ways when you know, doubting yourself and question yourself

can help you, but for the most part.

is there any benefit to it? I mean, really? No. So why are we doubting yourself? Why are we questioning ourselves. And if you want to know what that tiny little bit of benefit is, it's maybe because then it challenges you to push yourself to become a little better. But in the grand scheme of things it's not really going to help you. So

why are you doubting yourself? How dramatically would your life change if you just gave yourself the ability and the trust to show up every single day and say, you know what

I believe in myself. I trust myself. I know that no matter what happens in my life.

everything is working out of my favor. Every single thing that you know happens to me today, no matter how good it seems to be, or no matter how bad it seems to be.

but specifically the bad things, because that's the things that make us doubt ourselves and question ourselves. But the quote unquote bad things, no matter how bad they look today.

If I look at this from a long enough timeline from a you know, high enough perspective. Every single thing that happens to me today is to my benefit. It's going to help me.

and I've shared many of my stories, you know, on the podcast of some of the challenges I've gone through, and how in those moments it definitely didn't feel like

these were going to be beautiful blessings in my life, but they have always turned out to be that.

And so

when we start doubting ourselves, and when we start questioning ourselves. What we're doing is we're just saying we're we're not going to trust that whatever's happening right now

is important to our growth and is important to our journey and is helping us become that person that we want to be. So we that way, we can create the life that we want to have and create the business that we want to have.

you know, and when you doubt yourself, and when you question yourself, what that does is that puts you right back at square one from wherever you happen to be, no matter how far you got along in your journey. When you start questioning yourself and doubting yourself, you end up right back at square one.

So how does that help you? Again? It doesn't.

So we really really want to focus in on just learning to trust the process. And it's funny, because, you know, if you're watching the video of this, you can see it. But if you're just listening to the audio process process podcast I've got a wristband on right now that literally says, trust the process. I wear this one. I've got a few others that I rotate in and out. But I wear this because sometimes I myself forget about that.

You know, I forget that this is a process. It's a lifelong process. We're never gonna get to the end, you know, of

this journey and hit a point where things are perfect and where everything is lined up exactly the way that it that you want it to. There's always going to be something else you're going to be striving for, because no matter how far you get in your journey, you're going to be able to see other opportunities and other

things that you may have an interest in. So you're always going to be growing. You're always going to be expanding yourself, and you have to learn to just trust the process

because it will all work out in the end it will all work out if you just truly believe that it's going to.

And you know, here's an example that I love to use, and I've heard many times before it's think about, you know, when you're planting a seed in the ground, you know, if you're a farmer, not many of us are farmers, but a lot of people love gardening, not my jam, but hey, if it's for you awesome. But there's a valuable lesson in

in, you know that process of gardening.

you know a person, you know. If they're going to start a garden, they go out. They tilt the ground, and they, you know, break up free of the dirt. They plant the seed, they water it, you know they do it in the springtime or in the summer. I don't know, depending on what crop you're doing. But usually in the springtime they'll plant the seeds.

but they don't go out there the very next day and expect to see sprouts popping up, and if they do go out there the very next day and expect to see sprouts popping up, they're going to be greatly disappointed because things just don't happen that fast.

Now you go back out there the next day you you water it some more, depending on you know how often it needs to be watered, but you're make sure to pull out the weeds.

and

you wait, and you just do this over and over and over and over again every single day. You got to make sure that those seeds are getting sunlight. You got to make sure that they're getting water. You got to make sure that you're pulling out the weeds and give that seed time to grow time for it to germinate, and, you know, grow into the thing that is supposed to be.

whereas in life we feel like, if we put something out, then instantly it's supposed to come right back to us, and we're supposed to get something out of it in that moment.

That's not always the case. Yeah, some things we put out today, and we're going to get results today. But the vast majority of things that we're looking for they're much bigger goals than that.

And they're gonna take some time. They're gonna take maybe days. They're gonna take weeks, months, sometimes years, maybe even decades, depending on how big the goal is and how

how important it is to you, because there's definitely things that you know I'm looking for in my life that I'm not going to accomplish this year, or even next year. It's going to be years down the road before that happens, and I don't try and look too far into like decades, you know, because so many things can change in your life in the terms of decades. But maybe it is. There's been points in my life where I have looked a decade or 2 ahead.

**Here's the rest of the transcript:**

...But allow those seeds to grow and take root and just grow into what they're meant to be.

Another example I love to share is the bamboo plant. Now, I don't know the exact, you know,

timelines on this, because, of course, anything that I try and look up. There's varying information on it. But if you look at the I don't know if it's a Japanese bamboo plant, but I believe that's what it is. If you look at the Japanese bamboo plant.

you plant it in the ground, and you have to water it, and you have to allow it to have sunshine, and you have to do this, or it has to have this process go on, for I think it's anywhere from 5 to 9 years depending on you know what research I've done. I've seen it a couple of different ways, but anywhere it's at least 4 to 5 years, probably a little bit longer than that. But somewhere in that range, before you see any movement coming out of the ground.

Because what's happening is for that 1st 4 or 5 years, it's all just growing. This really deep spread out root system, because what happens is after it hits that 4, 5, 6 year mark whatever market happens to be for that particular, you know, seed.

the bamboo plant shoots out of the ground at a rate that's so fast that literally I've not seen this myself, but literally you can watch it grow in a day like it's not going to like grow 50 feet in a day. But you can actually watch it growing. You know, you've seen those time lapse videos of flowers and things as they bloom.

But you can actually watch a bamboo plant grow in real time. It just grows that fast. But it took it that 5, 6, 7 years

to develop that root system because it's going to grow up so fast. And it's going to grow up so high that it had to take that time to get that root system. And that's what I want you to think about when you're doubting yourself and quashing yourself

and worrying about are things working out.

What's happening. A lot of time is you're just developing that root system that's going to be able to sustain the growth that you're about to have.

You've got massive successes coming your way. But if you don't develop the root system, if you don't develop a foundation first, st

then you're not going to be ready for that success when it comes.

What's going to happen is you're going to get that success, and it's going to be awesome. You're going to think, oh, this is fucking great!

But then you're going to start sabotaging yourself. You're going to start questioning yourself again. You're going to start doubting yourself again, and you're going to start doing things that aren't in alignment with what got you to where you want to be, and they definitely won't keep you to where you want to be. And even beyond that they're not going to get you to a point where you can continue to grow and expand and go to that next level.

So trust the process. Believe in yourself, and know again that it's all going to work out.

And

this is really easy for me to sit here and say, it's easy for me to say, Trust yourself. You've got this.

So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna share with you 3 simple little tactics, 3 simple little tools. I think that will help you in that whole process.

and the 1st one that I'm going to share with you is just decide.

Just decide today. Right here. Right now, as you're listening to this fucking podcast

that you are going to trust yourself, you're going to believe in yourself, and you're going to remove any doubt from your mind whatsoever.

Now, when I say that that doesn't mean thoughts are going to aren't going to pop back into your head that you're never going to have a doubt pop into your head.

But when they do, you have the option to choose

to choose. If you want to believe that, doubt or not, or if you just want to let that shit go and say, you know what that's just some random shit that's blown in the wind that has nothing to do with me whatsoever.

You know you can think of it like I don't know why this visual popped up into my head. But imagine it just to be like, you know, on a fall day you got the leaves, you know, blowing in the wind, and this thought that came into your brain that just happened to be a leaf that was blowing past you. Didn't you didn't pick that thought you didn't choose that thought it just was blowing in the wind.

you know. Now, if I see, you know, if I have a thought, and I decide to hold on to it. That's like me. Okay, seeing a leaf blowing in the wind, and I reach down and I pick it up like I like this. I like this leaf. It's a very beautiful leaf I connect with this leaf. I'm going to hold on to this leaf. Then that's a whole different story.

and you have that choice. So make the choice today to decide to trust yourself, to believe in yourself

and again know that no matter what's happening, no matter that what's going on. Wherever you're at right now.

you can do this. You can get to that next level. You can get that life that you're trying to get to.

and this never to say anything's bad with where you're at right now. But knowing that that next level is available to you if you choose to believe in yourself.

So the second thing I want to suggest to you, and that I want to offer to you is

get consistent, create some consistency, create some structure, some systems in your life that allow for consistency. You know consistency is one of the pillars that you know. I coach on that I teach about.

because to me consistency is one of those big big pieces of the foundation that you have to have. If you want to have success in your life.

You can be wildly successful at something one time.

you know, for a day, but if you don't continue that success, if you don't keep doing the same things that allowed you to be successful on that one day.

then, whatever level of success you had in that one day is going to go away very quickly, and you're going to be starting back over at Square One again. If you don't have some consistent consistent systems and structures in place to continue that behavior.

Consistency also allows you to grow to learn from your mistakes to learn from what

you've done today. So today, I'm recording A, podcast you can't see this again if you're listening to the audio version. But even if you are watching the video version, you're not going to see it. But I have a live stream going on on Instagram right now, which is something brand new that I'm trying. I thought, you know what I'm recording A, podcast. Why not go ahead and live stream that to Instagram as well?

So I can like hit 2 things at one time and share some of this information with people. And you know, when this is all over, I'm gonna look back at it and see how that performed. See how people, you know. See, people like that see if they commented on it. See what happened with all that, and I'll learn from that.

And so this is a system that I'm setting up today. I've got a system set up right now for my podcast

and when I record those and how I edit those and that system is in place. But

let's add this other thing into it. And it's these systems that allow you that consistency to do things over and over and over and over. Enough

that you start to see patterns. You start to see what's working, what's not working. And then you can start to tweak things and improve those things. But if you just come in every single day and like, I'm gonna wake up today and see what the fuck happens.

Well, when you do that there is no consistency. There's no you're living in survival mode.

And this was something that took me a long time, and I'll be honest with you. I still I still deal with it on some level, because it was so ingrained into me for so fucking long

living in the survival mode of just waking up every single day and winging it.

and the big challenge with winging it. And living in that survival mode. Mentality is nothing ever feels solid. So I literally just yesterday was sitting down and thinking about some of the accomplishments I've had in my life.

and

I diminish some of the value of many of those, because when I look back at them, I I see that I was doing them in a survival mode mentality. And so it's hard for me to look at them and feel very accomplished about them, and feel that pride in a lot of them,

But looking at this from the perspective of what can I do today

to trust myself, believe in myself, and allow myself to know that everything's working out. Trust the process. But ...because I

I felt like at the time I was winging it that I wasn't really consistent. I wasn't

confidence. I didn't have a lot of belief in myself, and yeah, I survived it.

But it wasn't something that I felt really good about in the time. And so, having consistency and having systems set up in your life to do

things over and over and over again, and have the ability to go back and look at. Okay, how can I build on that? How can I take that next step. That's what builds that confidence in you. And so that way, you can really celebrate those wins and get better at whatever it is that you're trying to do so. Take some time this week.

Take some time this month, whatever it is for you, but take some time, take some time, and set up some systems and build that consistency in your life, because that will.

it will pay off huge dividends in your success, in your business, in your happiness, in your life, your joy, whatever it is, again, that you're trying to improve. That consistency is going to pay off big time.

And the last one number 3 that I'm gonna give you for today is

community, you know. Put yourself in a space where you're surrounded by

in lifting, uplifting, encouraging people. You know, people that see you, that support you, that challenge you, that hold you accountable.

but that allow you to be yourself.

Getting in communities on a consistent basis

helps you to try. You know.

when you know you're in a room full of people that believe in you and support you and are there for you, and they see you for who you are and not for who you have to feel like you need to pretend to be.

There's a massive amount of freedom in that.

You know, so often in life, especially as entrepreneurs. And we're putting our stuff out there on social media and doing a lot of other things.

When we're doing that, we almost feel some of us hopefully. Not you, maybe you. But you might find yourself in this situation where you feel like you need to pretend to be somebody that you're not. And anytime you do that, then you're always in this fear mode of somebody's going to find out who I truly am. They're going to find out that I say fuck a hundred times a day, or they're going to find out

that I don't make 10 million dollars a year, or whatever you know. Number, I just toss out crazy numbers because I don't want to ever make anybody feel bad about for what level they're at in their business right now. But

when you are doing this all by yourself, you're not in a community of supportive people and people who are there to uplift you and again see you for who you are.

You? You feel like you have to hide on a certain level. It's it's a little bit harder to just be yourself. But when you have that community around you.

you have that freedom and that confidence in yourself to just be you. And do you? And know that if you fail, it's okay. You know these people. They're going through the same thing that you're going through. They're going through those same challenges themselves, and they're not going to judge you for that. The only people that are ever going to judge you are the ones that are sitting on the couch, not doing anything, not trying to make anything of themselves.

Those are the people that are going to judge you.

So put yourself in a community of people who see you, who get you again, who are going to support you, challenge you, help guide you. And

when I put this down. Originally this was not meant to be a plug for elevate, but of course I I would be silly not to mention that elevate is coming up here in January.

and if that's something you know that you feel would be a great benefit for you. Check that out. You know I would love to have a conversation with you and share with you what's going on inside of that that group and that program because it will absolutely transform your life. But if it's not elevate, man, just go find some community somewhere, find a group in your area, if you need to. I've shared my story in the past of.

you know, creating my own groups where I went looking for groups couldn't find what I was looking for. So I created my own, and you can do that same thing. And it doesn't have to be a big, massive group. It doesn't have to be hundreds of people. It doesn't have to be thousands of people or tens of 1,000 people. It can be a small group of 3, 4, 5 people, if you need it to be, but find yourself a group, a supportive community. A family, if you will. Your tribe

that's going to be there for you to help you. Remember who the fuck you are because you are a badass. You are an amazing person. You've got incredible talents and skills.

and it's really easy to forget that if all you're doing is seeing yourself every day, and you're judging yourself every day over the little mishaps and the little stumbles that you have

and not seeing how other people see you, because other people see you so differently than you see yourself. And they can see the amazing strides that you're making the amazing stuff that you're putting into the world, whereas you

most likely, or maybe you're not. I don't want to assume anything about you, but what you might be doing is just seeing what I shared earlier, which is the behind the scenes, things of how I'm in survival mode and how I'm not really confident about what I'm doing. And so maybe you're not giving yourself the credit

for the things that you're doing and the impact that you're having on the world. So put yourself in a community where people can reinforce

to you who you truly are, and how amazing you truly are, and that will help you tremendously in trusting yourself, believing yourself and the confidence you have

so just to wrap this all back up. You know the 3 pieces of this that I shared with you, and how to

build your belief in yourself and just trusting the universe has always got your back.

Number one, just make the decision. It's right there. It's easy. What

simple, but not easy. But just make that decision today and every single day moving forward, just wake up and say to yourself again, I decide that the universe has my back. I decide today that everything is working out in my favor. Everything is working out for me, and no matter what it may look like right here right now. Today, I know this is going to be a massive benefit to me and help me get to places I never even dreamed possible, because I believe in myself, and I believe that the universe is here to support me.

Number 2 create you some systems, get some consistency in your life that will free up a lot of the stress of what do I do today, and what I'm going to do tomorrow. If you have these systems in place that consistency. Again, it removes some of that fear, some of that doubt, and gives you the opportunity to try things over and over and over again. See what's working, what's not working, and build off of that. And then number 3, join yourself a community, build yourself a community, get yourself around people they're going to support. You, help you guide, you, challenge you

all that fun stuff will help Skyrocket, your belief system when you have people surrounding you that know what you're truly capable of, and reflect that back to you.

So with that, let's go ahead and wrap it up and get out there. Have a nice fucking day, and I will see you next time.
