00:00:02.500 --> 00:00:11.710
James Dunn: All right. Hello! Hello! And welcome back to the show. Everybody, you know. I say this every single episode, but you know it. I'm excited to be here today, we've got another exciting interview.
2
00:00:11.710 --> 00:00:34.660
James Dunn: Starting this interview process as I've shared this is something new that we're bringing to the podcast and I'm really excited to be bringing somebody that I've actually known for quite a while. The 1st couple were were newer people that I didn't really know that well, but I really enjoyed the conversations with them. But it's really nice that this time I get to enjoy a conversation with somebody that I've known for a few years now. So Anna Robles, welcome to the show.
3
00:00:35.730 --> 00:00:42.890
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Thank you. It's so good to be here, James, and thank you for inviting me to come and have a conversation with you and your audience.
4
00:00:42.890 --> 00:01:03.180
James Dunn: Well, I'm excited to have you here like, I said. We've known each other for a few years, and we don't get to talk very often just one on one, because we know each other through a networking call, and so we'll see each other, and we'll like, say, Hi! In the chat, or, you know, kind of do the virtual wave kind of thing. But we don't get a chance to actually talk very often. And so this is going to be fun. And again, I do know some things about you. I do know some of the history.
5
00:01:03.200 --> 00:01:13.970
James Dunn: but what I will ask you to do just real quick for the people that don't know you. If you can just give us just a short little introduction, and then we'll dive in a little bit deeper into your story in a minute. But yeah, just give us a little little. Who are you?
6
00:01:14.320 --> 00:01:38.519
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Who am I? Great question. My name is Anna Robles. Like you mentioned. I live in Southern California, just outside of downtown La. And after spending 30, some years in corporate America, I left corporate because I was in a toxic environment, and I had already been doing a little bit of personal development. And then I found Nlp neurolinguistic programming.
7
00:01:38.520 --> 00:01:50.340
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I took it because I felt like I was lost after experiencing toxicity in the work environment. And it changed my life. And once I graduated from the program I was like.
8
00:01:50.340 --> 00:02:14.500
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: people need this. If I was stuck, if I was lost, think people need it. So that's when I started the journey of becoming a certified trainer. So I can teach people the tools that I now have on my tool belt. And then through that journey I started helping business owners because I have 30 years experience of corporate America. So why not help with business and mindset.
9
00:02:14.500 --> 00:02:15.400
James Dunn: Yeah.
10
00:02:15.400 --> 00:02:16.229
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Little bit about me.
11
00:02:16.430 --> 00:02:33.809
James Dunn: I love that. I think that's awesome. I think it's awesome. Yeah, definitely mindset. Of course, you know, mindset coach here, just like yourself. We both, you know, resonate on that level. So much about mindset is just the key to everything, because it doesn't matter where you go, no matter what you do your mindset. It's it's all there. You can't go anywhere without your mindset.
12
00:02:33.810 --> 00:02:57.480
James Dunn: So now, just to give people who aren't, you know, maybe regular listeners and number one. Why, the heck, aren't you? But I'm glad you're here today. If you haven't been a regular listener. But if you aren't a regular listener, let me just share with you real quick. You know what this interview series is about. I'm reaching out to people that I feel like have been successful in life, you know, in whatever version of that is, you know, if that's you know, in business, if that's just in life, I don't want to like.
13
00:02:57.530 --> 00:03:11.930
James Dunn: say, just as a parent, or whatever, because I mean dude, that's the hardest thing to do. I was just talking to a friend the other day, you know about how crazy it is and how hard it is. Just keep kids alive, you know, because they were just talking about like their kid, like open the front door and, like walked out, was been like walk, walk down the street, and like
14
00:03:11.980 --> 00:03:29.840
James Dunn: they didn't even know it's because kids just do things like that, but just people who are successful in life and talk to them, you know. Maybe people who've had challenges or struggles in their life and have them share their story and share what they've gone through and what they've learned from it, and see if there's any commonalities that we can all learn from and grow from. So, Anna, does that sound like a conversation you would love to have with me today.
15
00:03:30.150 --> 00:03:31.340
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Absolutely.
16
00:03:31.340 --> 00:03:31.970
James Dunn: Awesome.
17
00:03:31.970 --> 00:03:33.340
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Absolutely. We love that.
18
00:03:33.340 --> 00:03:44.829
James Dunn: Awesome cool. Well, I'm going to hit you right out of the gates with a nice big question here. So what is the biggest risk that you've taken in life, or the biggest challenge that you've had so far in your life. And what have you learned from it?
19
00:03:45.750 --> 00:03:52.389
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Good question. So biggest think challenge was actually leaving corporate America.
20
00:03:52.850 --> 00:04:01.040
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: leaving the safety of corporate and having a 9 to 5 job with consistent income and making that
21
00:04:01.290 --> 00:04:11.759
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: change to say, I'm not going back to corporate. I want to work for myself. I'm tired of some, you know, working for somebody else's dream, and not my dream.
22
00:04:11.760 --> 00:04:12.090
James Dunn: Yeah.
23
00:04:12.090 --> 00:04:26.449
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Making. That was probably the biggest challenge that I face in my business development. And what have I learned that I am resilient?
24
00:04:27.160 --> 00:04:41.689
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I am. I have learned that we have all the answers inside of us. I have learned that we get to trust ourselves and really dig deep inside, because everything we need is within us. It's just believing in it.
25
00:04:42.230 --> 00:04:43.000
James Dunn: Yeah.
26
00:04:43.260 --> 00:04:45.540
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: That's what have learned so far.
27
00:04:45.540 --> 00:04:57.380
James Dunn: Yeah, I think that's so important. And I mean, there's so many people out there right now that I'm sure you know that are listening that have maybe that dream of leaving corporate. And so let's just let's just peel back the layers on that a little bit.
28
00:04:57.570 --> 00:05:00.160
James Dunn: How scary was that for you to make that leap.
29
00:05:00.830 --> 00:05:10.899
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Very scary, especially because, okay, when I don't have a husband. I'm not married. I'm single right. And so I don't rely on somebody else's income.
30
00:05:10.950 --> 00:05:39.279
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: So this is going to be just all on me. And when we have a corporate job or work for somebody else's somebody else, we have a secure paycheck. So now, when you leave corporate and I left because I was not in a good place. But then do I go back and look for a job or not look for a job. And when I made that decision, you know what? I'm not going to work for somebody else's dream. I've always wanted to be an entrepreneur. I didn't know what that was going to look like.
31
00:05:39.280 --> 00:05:41.119
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: and I'm ready for it
32
00:05:41.620 --> 00:05:47.790
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: yet. I didn't have that income coming, and I have a mortgage payment to make, you know.
33
00:05:47.790 --> 00:05:54.190
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: and it comes with bills, you know, like your utilities. It comes with the Hoa payment. So I had all of that
34
00:05:54.340 --> 00:05:55.320
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: yet
35
00:05:55.450 --> 00:06:09.770
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: the knowing that I was actually now going to strive and work for my dream, and it didn't matter like it's like I'm going to do whatever it takes to make sure that I am okay and pay my bills.
36
00:06:09.770 --> 00:06:10.470
James Dunn: Yeah.
37
00:06:10.860 --> 00:06:16.509
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: And yeah, that was the, actually, it was really scary. That was really scary to just do it.
38
00:06:16.510 --> 00:06:22.380
James Dunn: I bet I bet. And let me ask you a question. Did you have any kind of a runway financial? Anything like that? Or was this
39
00:06:22.590 --> 00:06:32.570
James Dunn: because I again I know some of your story. But let's help for the listeners that don't know like, did you have any kind of a runway in terms of finances set aside like a lot of people talk about like having the emergency fund of you know
40
00:06:32.670 --> 00:06:34.360
James Dunn: of. You know, if you're
41
00:06:34.820 --> 00:06:44.970
James Dunn: truly a quote, unquote, smart person you're gonna have like that, 6 months of finances set aside. So just in case you want to leave a job, or in case you get fired, or whatever I I never had the end of that shit
42
00:06:44.970 --> 00:06:45.559
James Dunn: find out.
43
00:06:45.560 --> 00:07:00.570
James Dunn: So if you're a listener and you don't have that, don't feel bad because I've never done that. But did you have something like that? Or was this just like, you know what? I'm just going to take that leap of faith, because I trust in myself. I believe in myself, and as scary as it gets. I'm just going to do this. What was that like for you?
44
00:07:00.880 --> 00:07:01.815
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: So.
45
00:07:03.190 --> 00:07:06.799
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: 20. Some years ago I did try to be an entrepreneur.
46
00:07:06.800 --> 00:07:07.270
James Dunn: Okay.
47
00:07:07.270 --> 00:07:26.529
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: And that was I was in between 2 corporate jobs, and at that time I didn't have the financial stability. I didn't have the runway. I was living, I mean, I was in my twenties, and I had this nice cushy job. I had a company car, and I was spending money left and right.
48
00:07:26.530 --> 00:07:41.679
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: and I wasn't saving. And then when they came and said, Sorry, Anna, we can no longer afford your salary, because we're splitting the company. That was a really scary time, but it was also the time for me to. And that's when I actually learned a little bit about personal development. And
49
00:07:41.680 --> 00:07:45.509
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I didn't have a runway, you know, for anything.
50
00:07:45.510 --> 00:07:45.900
James Dunn: Hmm.
51
00:07:45.900 --> 00:08:02.069
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: And so when I found another job in corporate, the 1st thing I started to do, so I went from working in the restaurant business for 15 years. I was a director of training, and I had 18 restaurants that I would oversee, and I was making good money, and
52
00:08:02.250 --> 00:08:30.270
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I didn't have. I didn't have a savings. I didn't have a 4, really a 401 K. Because they had just started offering us a 401 K. At that time, so I didn't have all those luxuries. And now it's like, Oh, what am I going to do with the rest of my life? That's when I came into a little bit of personal development I started to double a little bit into becoming an entrepreneur. I did some financial. I got securities, license, and all of that.
53
00:08:30.350 --> 00:08:52.129
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I wasn't prepared here mentally. Yet I learned how money works through through that through that experience. And when I got myself another job in corporate. Now, in the fashion industry, I started saving up money. I like, I need a 401 KI need to do this. And I started to set myself up.
54
00:08:52.330 --> 00:09:00.700
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: and I wasn't even thinking about setting myself up for eventually leaving. I was just setting myself up for retirement, so when I
55
00:09:00.910 --> 00:09:03.469
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: needed to leave corporate.
56
00:09:03.790 --> 00:09:22.240
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I actually relied on my retirement money so that I could get myself pay my mortgage, you know. Make sure I had. So I did take out some money was not the smartest thing to do, because, you know, you get penalized with taxes. But I did have a little bit of a runway to to get started.
57
00:09:22.240 --> 00:09:25.940
James Dunn: Well, hey, I mean, but that's that's cool, though, I mean. And
58
00:09:26.300 --> 00:09:56.229
James Dunn: so. But it wasn't something that you had set aside intentionally for an emergency fund. So you did have to dip into your retirement savings. But I think that's awesome, because it shows again that you did believe in yourself. It's like, you know what I'm willing to risk some of this money that I put aside for later to go ahead and reshape my life right here right now. I think that's awesome and and very courageous of you to just step out there like that. And you kind of touched on something that would kind of leads into my next. You know, big question here is.
59
00:09:56.400 --> 00:10:26.359
James Dunn: and maybe this that would have been it that you kind of learned from it. But maybe something different. Was there ever a situation? I'm sure there definitely has to be something. But is there a specific time in your life that you can think back where there was a failure, something that didn't go the way that you wanted it to go, and that you learned, you know, a big lesson from it that actually turned out in hindsight like man. That was actually a really good thing that happened, you know, because a lot of times when these things happen. We're telling ourselves like, Oh, this sucks! This is terrible. I can't believe this happened. But now, as you have hindsight, you're like, Wait! No, thank God that happened. Because now this all happened because of that.
60
00:10:27.140 --> 00:10:39.499
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Actually both situations. So when I was let go of the in the restaurant business, it was. It was devastating cause I I was comfortable. I was really.
61
00:10:39.500 --> 00:10:40.300
James Dunn: They come to them.
62
00:10:40.590 --> 00:10:48.779
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: That was devastating and didn't know. What I was going to do is I was scared to death, and looking back.
63
00:10:49.380 --> 00:11:14.042
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I realized something with what I know now is that whatever we think we create, so I had already been thinking about like, I'm not really happy here. What else is there for me. And so the more you focus on it the more it flows. So the the universe heard me. And you say, you're not happy here. So we're gonna push you. And then that's when I was let go and
64
00:11:14.980 --> 00:11:15.960
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: So.
65
00:11:16.480 --> 00:11:27.120
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: not having enough money and not having, you know I was, I had. I was living with my parents house. So, not having that freedom and that was that was difficult.
66
00:11:27.250 --> 00:11:40.990
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: And once I settled back into this new job, you know where I was in the fashion industry, and I started moving it and scaling up the ladder. I was really enjoying it, and again that little voice in my head.
67
00:11:41.307 --> 00:12:04.479
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: There's something else for you out there. So things started setting themselves up to where now I was offered a position, and I didn't know that a lot of people were. I didn't do my job my due diligence. People were leaving left and right from that department, but I didn't ask why? I was just, oh, yeah, they're they're moving on. They got a new job. And I was like, Oh, okay.
68
00:12:04.480 --> 00:12:18.880
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: So I didn't realize it was because of the environment that was we were not seeing. So I stepped into it again. That little voice you keep talking about it. The more you focus on it. It flows. So I walked into this department.
69
00:12:19.620 --> 00:12:20.834
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: and it was.
70
00:12:21.840 --> 00:12:30.319
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: It was hard. It was like somebody like always pushing and taking away your belief that you're not good enough, and so.
71
00:12:31.340 --> 00:12:36.590
James Dunn: Those were all the challenges that I faced to to be able to step away.
72
00:12:37.190 --> 00:12:37.660
James Dunn: Yeah.
73
00:12:37.660 --> 00:12:39.010
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: By myself, again.
74
00:12:39.830 --> 00:12:55.480
James Dunn: Well and like, I said, that's what's so beautiful is in the moment you're thinking like this is terrible, because, you know, I went into this new position and had such high hopes. And it was going to turn into this and this and this and this, and then it turns into this toxic environment. You think. Well, now, this sucks. But then, because that environment was so toxic
75
00:12:55.700 --> 00:13:02.009
James Dunn: you left. And then now you're doing something you absolutely love, and that I can't imagine you would ever trade for anything in the world.
76
00:13:02.220 --> 00:13:06.130
James Dunn: So it's just that reminder, if you're out there and you're going through something terrible.
77
00:13:06.260 --> 00:13:16.809
James Dunn: or at least in your mind, you're telling yourself that it's terrible. Recognize it's helping. You see, there are things that you need to change in your life, and and lean into that and embrace it, even though you may not love it right now.
78
00:13:17.030 --> 00:13:19.209
James Dunn: There's a there's a really good chance that you will.
79
00:13:19.550 --> 00:13:32.220
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: It was the greatest gift, because I will not. I choose to continue to go in this path and never go back. Somebody actually asked me about. Would you ever go back to corporate? I was like, no. Why.
80
00:13:33.050 --> 00:13:33.545
James Dunn: Why?
81
00:13:34.340 --> 00:14:01.139
James Dunn: Why, yeah, it's it's so crazy. It's so crazy. Why, no, no, thank you. Question for you. Now is, you know the name of this podcast is unsure to unstoppable, you know. And through your journey of evolution and growth, you know over these years was there one specific belief that you can think back on that. You had. You know, years ago that you had to really work on and have let go to put yourself in a position now where you feel like you are unstoppable.
82
00:14:02.150 --> 00:14:07.390
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Yes, so and I share this. I share. This with my students is
83
00:14:08.110 --> 00:14:31.329
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I grew up in an I grew up with loving parents, and you know they care for you and everything. But there was one thing that my mom used to always we would go to certain places. And she's like, Okay, we're gonna go here. I need you to stay to sit down and be quiet like, I just need you guys to behave. So that became a belief that whenever I went to certain, like certain places.
84
00:14:31.340 --> 00:14:42.970
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: public places, I needed to behave and be like this quiet little girl. I didn't realize that in the corporate room, when I was like in corporate America, I would walk in there, and
85
00:14:42.970 --> 00:15:05.660
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I would tend to hold myself back and just like, take notes and be very productive. I would be the action taker, but I would never be speaking up, and as an entrepreneur, what do we got to do. We got to market ourselves. We got to walk in those rooms with strangers that we don't know, and turn them into friends and turn them into colleagues and collaboration. So
86
00:15:05.900 --> 00:15:26.669
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: through this journey I realized I had this belief, and I know exactly when it happened and how I reframe that belief that I am allowed to speak that I am allowed to use my voice to continue, and so that that is one of the biggest believe, one of the biggest lessons that I have learned about myself.
87
00:15:26.670 --> 00:15:29.509
James Dunn: Yeah, I love that. And it's so crazy how
88
00:15:29.700 --> 00:15:42.749
James Dunn: something that you know our parents do not trying to change the entire rest of our lives, but just some simple little thing that makes perfect sense to them at the time. They say something to us, or they do something, and we interpret it a certain way. And then that
89
00:15:42.750 --> 00:16:07.750
James Dunn: changes how we see the entire rest of the world for years and years and years and decades, and some people forever. Some people don't ever even realize that. But I've run into that very similar situation myself, you know. You know my story with my dad and his alcoholism, and one of the things I used to always deal with was him coming in Super late at night and drunk, and he's carrying on doing all these things, and I was the buffer between him and the rest of the family, and what I found was the easiest way to get him to pass out was just sit there and
90
00:16:07.750 --> 00:16:27.180
James Dunn: him talk. So I just sat there shut up, didn't say a word. Just sit there, let him talk, talk, talk. If he says something I don't ever respond. I just let him talk, talk. He'll eventually pass out, and that carried over into my life, where I would never be the person instigating a conversation, or like leading a conversation. I'm like you talk. I'll pretty much just shut up. Maybe I'll respond every now and then, but for the most part I'm gonna let it die.
91
00:16:27.220 --> 00:16:32.000
James Dunn: And so I had to recognize that myself. And it's so weird. How like, see these little things
92
00:16:32.170 --> 00:16:53.929
James Dunn: that if we don't take the time to really stop and and notice them, they can carry on through the rest of our lives and limit us so much because you like, I said, as an entrepreneur, you're never going to be able to succeed if you don't get out there and promote yourself and talk to people and make new connections all the time. And same with me. If I don't get out and have conversations like this today, I'm not going to get anywhere. So we've got to recognize these patterns and
93
00:16:54.060 --> 00:17:14.420
James Dunn: never blame anybody for them. It's not like again. Our parents did anything intentionally. They were just doing what they were doing, and we interpreted it the way we chose to interpret it. But recognizing it and saying, Okay, it is what it is. But now let me choose to act differently like you said, let's reframe this. Let me let me change how I'm looking at this, and how I'm going to respond to this. I'm going to choose differently today.
94
00:17:16.030 --> 00:17:17.650
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Absolutely. Yeah.
95
00:17:17.650 --> 00:17:46.020
James Dunn: Yeah, so is there any specific piece of advice? If you could think back over, you know the times that you've gone through this, even just in your life in general, I guess. Is there any one specific piece of advice that you look back at? You know you always get the question of what's the best piece of advice you ever got, but specifically in terms of, you know, pushing through self doubt or fear, lack of belief in yourself. Is there any specific piece of advice that you've gotten that you feel really has had a massive impact on you?
96
00:17:48.450 --> 00:17:59.359
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Yeah. So one of the things that through my journey and through those moments of where I felt like the world is falling on me, and you can't see the light.
97
00:18:00.090 --> 00:18:09.690
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I realize that we it's focused on the positive. And I know people say, like you, really, you want me to think positive when I'm like drowning. And so
98
00:18:10.470 --> 00:18:28.440
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I remember hanging out with this friend, and everywhere we went she would always take out this little journal, and she would write things, and she would write down like what she was like, what she was spending, you know. So I started to do the same thing. But I was focusing like, Okay, well.
99
00:18:28.910 --> 00:18:58.090
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I may not have a job right now. But I just did this. So like, how do I create abundance? So I started focusing on the on the things that I did have like gratitude like you know what? Well, I'm healthy. So I would write that down or like I'm able to move. I'm able to breathe or I'm oh, I just met this person. And I started to write those things that it became my Gratitude journal. And so the more it goes back to something I mentioned earlier. Whatever we focus on flows.
100
00:18:58.090 --> 00:19:04.560
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: So if we focus on like, what are the good things that I have in my life. Right now
101
00:19:04.960 --> 00:19:18.009
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I'm going to attract more of that versus if I focus on like Oh, my gosh! You know I don't have a job. I don't have this. I don't have that. I rather focus on those little things that
102
00:19:18.920 --> 00:19:34.590
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: that makes such a huge difference. So that is that one thing that I started doing 20 some years ago when I was Lego. My 1st corporate job is really focusing on what I do have, and be grateful for it.
103
00:19:35.050 --> 00:20:00.710
James Dunn: Yeah, well, and that's really funny that you say that, because literally, my very next question was going to be, is there one specific habit that you could recommend to people. So I don't know if it would be that one, or if there was like another habit that you could recommend to people if they had to change one habit today, instead of trying to give them 20 things to do. If there was one habit, you could say, hey, try this today. Start doing this? Would it be that, or is there something else that you would maybe toss in there?
104
00:20:01.190 --> 00:20:03.040
James Dunn: Now, knowing what we're what the question.
105
00:20:04.070 --> 00:20:10.510
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: So I would say, gratitude, or in focusing on what it is that you want. Now.
106
00:20:11.334 --> 00:20:16.159
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: people could tell you to do this and do that, you gotta go with
107
00:20:16.570 --> 00:20:18.810
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: what feels right for you.
108
00:20:18.810 --> 00:20:20.440
James Dunn: Hmm, yeah.
109
00:20:21.171 --> 00:20:38.729
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: If if writing something down which I like to write because it it has that connection of the movement, and it connects to your unconscious mind. I highly recommend that if that seems like difficult for you, then the other thing would be like, stand in front of the mirror
110
00:20:39.030 --> 00:20:46.639
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: and tell yours, and look at yourself in the eyes, and tell yourself what good you see in yourself.
111
00:20:47.070 --> 00:20:54.139
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: and time yourself for 1015, or for 30 seconds, or a minute, and really focus on that. So it's
112
00:20:54.350 --> 00:21:18.120
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: whatever feels best for you, whether it's writing on a journal, or seeing yourself, or hearing yourself saying it out loud, or saying it, you know, inside your head whatever feels best for you. I highly recommend, as a habit to be grateful and look for the positive, or like the good things, if positive sounds like a word that's not easy, then.
113
00:21:18.120 --> 00:21:18.600
James Dunn: Yeah.
114
00:21:18.600 --> 00:21:20.049
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Good things in your life.
115
00:21:20.050 --> 00:21:30.849
James Dunn: Yeah, yeah, if positive sounds almost like Woo woo, you know one of those boards we don't want to touch kind of things, but I do love, how you distinguish there, what works for you? Because
116
00:21:31.550 --> 00:21:52.239
James Dunn: something that like say you or myself even it works great for us, you know, finding that version of it that we connect with the most, because there's definitely certain tips that I've had people share with me. And I try and like, this is stupid. This just does not work for me at all, you know. But yeah, finding your own way to do that, I love that you shared that
117
00:21:52.240 --> 00:22:03.370
James Dunn: now on your journey, has there been a book or a podcast or TV show Youtube anything specific? You know, that has had a major impact on you
118
00:22:03.430 --> 00:22:05.159
James Dunn: that you would
119
00:22:05.250 --> 00:22:16.289
James Dunn: share with somebody and say, Hey, again, you know, this is always going to be everybody's gonna connect with things a little differently. But is there one specific thing that you can think of resource like that that's had a massive impact on you and your mindset.
120
00:22:17.260 --> 00:22:19.760
James Dunn: There's so many books out there. God.
121
00:22:19.880 --> 00:22:22.170
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Yeah, it's hard, isn't it?
122
00:22:22.170 --> 00:22:30.190
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Yes, okay. So I used to be the girl that I needed to have the hard copy and like, fill it, and read it.
123
00:22:30.190 --> 00:22:30.770
James Dunn: Yep.
124
00:22:31.160 --> 00:22:35.109
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: And okay. So I'm I also realized that
125
00:22:35.510 --> 00:22:37.890
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: as we're getting older, we kind of forget things.
126
00:22:37.890 --> 00:22:38.610
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Yeah. So
127
00:22:38.610 --> 00:22:45.669
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: thing that I do know for a fact is how our mind works and our mind works better when we're like in this.
128
00:22:46.050 --> 00:23:09.949
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: a little bit of a trance. It's almost like it's comfortable. So I started listening to audible, and I used to say, I never will ever listen to a book, because it doesn't stick in my head. But I realized that trance that happens when we're driving. So I listen to books all the time, and I will say I'm addicted right now to Kyle C's
129
00:23:11.910 --> 00:23:16.149
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: It's a money book. Oh, what is it called? I can't even. I think I've listened to it.
130
00:23:16.150 --> 00:23:17.319
James Dunn: Illusion? Is it the illusion.
131
00:23:17.320 --> 00:23:18.439
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: The illusion of money.
132
00:23:18.440 --> 00:23:20.790
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Yes, good book, really good book.
133
00:23:20.790 --> 00:23:29.569
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: I listened to that one, and I pocket full of money, and I would tell you there's a lot of Nlp behind those 2 books, and that's why I love it.
134
00:23:29.570 --> 00:23:30.330
James Dunn: Yeah.
135
00:23:30.630 --> 00:23:36.940
James Dunn: Yeah. And I've got both the hardcover and the audible version of the illusion of money. Because I think he, it's
136
00:23:37.020 --> 00:23:58.750
James Dunn: I'm a really big fan like you said of having the physical copy and reading it. That's how I absorb information. The best, because then I am truly focused on it, and then what I will do is get the. If I really like a book, then I'll go. Usually pick up the audible afterwards. That way. I can just like keep listening to it over and over and over, and like reminding myself of those little lessons that you learn inside the book. And Kyle does a great job narrating, because he'll even like.
137
00:23:58.750 --> 00:24:09.039
James Dunn: Get off track a little bit like, Oh, hey, just a minute. Hang on. Okay, let me get back to the script. Now, I need to jump back over. And he's a really funny guy. So yeah, I definitely enjoy that book and would would agree with you to recommend that to people?
138
00:24:10.710 --> 00:24:17.510
James Dunn: is there a piece of advice that you would give someone that maybe feels stuck and unsure in their life? Is there, just
139
00:24:17.770 --> 00:24:25.789
James Dunn: I mean, I guess maybe that's kind of a weird question. Because again, how do you just say one thing. But if somebody is feeling stuck, what might you say to them?
140
00:24:26.430 --> 00:24:28.100
James Dunn: yeah, what might you say to them?
141
00:24:29.050 --> 00:24:32.580
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Okay. So I I
142
00:24:33.640 --> 00:24:46.470
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: believe in or like, I'm presupposing mind reading when we're feeling stuck. Is there something about that particular situation where we have an emotion attached to it.
143
00:24:46.480 --> 00:24:47.170
James Dunn: Hmm.
144
00:24:47.560 --> 00:24:50.520
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Whether it could be like fear.
145
00:24:51.060 --> 00:24:59.300
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: It could be anger, it could be sadness, all of that. So it's the moment for us to stop and like, Hey, what about this
146
00:25:00.100 --> 00:25:20.429
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: is holding me back? What about this? So ask yourself why? And I would ask yourself that question like at least a minimum of 7 times like, why am I stuck? And then you get the answer, write it down, or like, say it out loud, like, record yourself, and then, after you have that answer, why?
147
00:25:20.580 --> 00:25:25.280
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: So you want to keep like digging deep to find like.
148
00:25:25.470 --> 00:25:28.459
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: what is the real reason that I'm stuck.
149
00:25:28.750 --> 00:25:36.179
James Dunn: Yeah, getting past that surface level? Answer, that default, knee, jerk, reaction answer, like, oh, because I don't like this. No, that's not the real reason. Yeah.
150
00:25:36.180 --> 00:25:36.760
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Yeah.
151
00:25:37.590 --> 00:25:48.760
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: And so, and it's an opportunity to be honest with ourselves. We don't have to share with anybody else. But it's an opportunity to be honest and get to the bottom of it, so that we can move forward.
152
00:25:48.940 --> 00:25:57.509
James Dunn: Yeah, no, I think that's great advice, because it really is. It really does come back to. There's some emotion. There's some feeling that we've got this tied to everything. And if you can
153
00:25:57.880 --> 00:26:16.949
James Dunn: take that time and just get that sense of awareness and start, okay, well, where's that feeling coming from? What is the feeling? And then where's that feeling coming from? And then how can I reshift it? You know, like you talked about earlier? Just let me change that that meaning I've got, or whatever behind it, and then that allows you to kind of keep moving moving through that and get to that next level, and the next level, the next level.
154
00:26:17.450 --> 00:26:32.250
James Dunn: But yeah, that's been awesome. It's great. So that's all my 7 unstoppable questions, Anna. So I want to say, thank you so much for for taking us through those and through that journey. And so if people want to connect with you more and want to find out more about you, where's the best place for them to do that at.
155
00:26:32.460 --> 00:26:46.870
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: The best place. I hang out in Instagram a lot. Okay, so connect to me on Instagram. Send me a DM. I have a link in my bio of how you can connect with me. And yeah, that would be the best place.
156
00:26:46.870 --> 00:26:58.739
James Dunn: Awesome. And is there anything? Obviously, I don't know for sure exactly when this episode gonna drop but is there anything that you wanna just kind of promote or just share with people like, Hey, check this out. There's something got coming that you're working on, or.
157
00:26:58.740 --> 00:27:07.389
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: Yes, thanks, thanks for asking and allowing me to share. So I actually created 7 steps of
158
00:27:07.590 --> 00:27:11.440
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: you see, neuro linguistic programming to help you
159
00:27:11.780 --> 00:27:31.310
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: step into more confidence. And so it's actually going to be dropping on March 24.th And if you follow the some of the stories, there's going to be a coupon for it so that you can grab this 7 techniques. It's called the confidence toolkit.
160
00:27:31.310 --> 00:27:32.010
James Dunn: Awesome.
161
00:27:32.120 --> 00:27:50.640
James Dunn: Awesome. Yeah, we'll definitely put that in the show notes and give people a chance of that. And so I've got one final question before we wrap everything up here is what? Oh, my gosh, no, I don't have my notes right in front of me where to go. There we go, and I should know this is like this easiest question ever, how do you define? Unstoppable in your own words?
162
00:27:51.550 --> 00:27:57.680
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: How do I define? Unstoppable? You know what doing the scary things, just doing it like
163
00:27:58.170 --> 00:28:03.199
Ana | NLP Trainer & Coach: not having a care in the world, and just like jumping off the ledge and doing it.
164
00:28:03.450 --> 00:28:17.740
James Dunn: Yeah, there you go. I love it. Awesome. Well, thanks again, Anna. Thank you so much for being here today. I really appreciate it. I know the audience is going to love this episode, you know, as they're listening to this. And with that, guys get out there have an amazing fucking day, and we'll see you next time.
