Prayer and fasting are pathways to spiritual renewal that strengthen our relationship with God. We were created in God's image for intimate fellowship with Him, not just obedience. When we become disconnected from God, we often struggle with compartmentalization—living differently in various contexts despite our beliefs. Prayer offers multiple benefits: it builds relationship with God, restores our humanity, brings wisdom, cleanses us from hurt and sin, and transforms our minds. Developing a daily prayer discipline helps us stay connected to God like branches to a vine, enabling us to naturally produce spiritual fruit in our lives.
