Why do leaders need to communicate assertively? Why is assertive communication important in leadership? There are a number of reasons why you should learn how to communicate assertively as a leader. However, many shy away from it, especially if they’re coming from a more passive style of communication.

Assertive communication is a critical skill for all emerging leaders to develop. It helps you communicate more confidently, deal with difficult situations with ease, and be more authentic in your interactions with others.

I’ve personally taken the journey to learn how to be more assertive and it has drastically changed my life, both personally and professionally.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Why assertive communication is important.
  • Leaders who avoid communicating assertively don’t last.
  • Assertiveness makes your communication more confident.
  • Assertive leaders appear more honest and transparent.
  • You can set boundaries and say “no”.
  • You can make clear requests to delegate better.
  • Assertiveness helps you manage conflict in teams.
