Rerouted
The Rerouted podcast was originally intended to follow the journey of Mandy Bates, a two-year rectal cancer survivor from symptoms to surgery and her new life with a permanent colostomy. Diagnosed at the age of 49, Mandy chose to forego chemotherapy against her doctor's wishes, but did receive radiation and life altering surgery in February of 2018. With the help of a nutritional coach and a naturopathic doctor, she got her mind and body as healthy as possible before having her internal plumbing rerouted. Ironically, the show and its mission have also been rerouted. With all that is going on in the world today, both in and out of the political arena, it is becoming evermore clear that life can be upended thus rerouting your path to places you never imagined. After the first four episodes, Mandy was faced with some dark moments coming to terms with hidden demons, fears and beliefs. And thanks to some amazing people, she knows she's not alone.

Episode 1
On the first episode of the Rerouted podcast, Mandy shares the condensed version of her story and the impetus for starting a show about life after colon cancer. She shares the process she went through leading up to her surgery in February 2018 and why she is so passionate about removing the stigma surrounding Colorectal cancer and why early detection is so important.
Mandy also thanks Lee Sylvestre for his generous contribution of the Rerouted theme song No Looking Back Now. Please check out his music by clicking the link below.
