Sep 03, 2020 Episode 20
Shasi

It’s been 10 years since the YOG Football Team clinched the bronze medal and captured the hearts of Singaporeans. Riding on to the euphoria of that performance, the Lion City Cup was revived and expectation hit the roof with the team clinching 3rd and 2nd place finishes, beating the likes of Juventus and Ajax in the process.

I speak to Jeffrey Lightfoot, skipper of the YOG team, right back of that team, Illyas Lee, and star performer in the Lion City Cup and current Lion City Sailors player, Adam Swandi on their journey in youth football.  Listen to their journey pre YOG and Lion City Cups, their tournament experiences, and of coz the pain of post YOG.

Adam also shares his Metz and Albirex Niigata (Spore) experience. Find out why the word "hunger" seemed to be the recurring quality that cropped up over and over again.
