In Galatians 2:11–21, Paul defends the beauty and freedom of the gospel—our justification comes through faith in Christ alone, not by works. Even the slightest reliance on our own effort is a departure from the grace of Jesus. We are not made right with God by what we do, but by what Christ has already done on the cross. Through faith, His perfect righteousness is credited to us, so that God no longer sees our sin, but the perfection of His Son. This is the good news: we are fully accepted, not because of our performance, but because of Jesus.
