In Galatians 3:15–29, Paul reminds us that God’s promise of salvation was never based on human performance, but on faith. Long before the law was given, God made a covenant with Abraham and declared him righteous because he believed. The Judaizers were teaching that people needed Jesus plus obedience to the law to truly belong to God’s family, but Paul makes it clear that we are accepted by grace through faith in Christ alone. God is not constantly changing the terms of His love, and we cannot add to the finished work of Jesus.
Paul also explains that the law was given to reveal our sin, not to save us. Like a mirror, it exposes the problem but cannot fix it. Only Jesus could fulfill the law perfectly and make a way for sinners to be brought into God’s family. Through faith in Christ, we are forgiven, adopted, and made heirs according to the promise. The gospel tears down barriers and unites us as one family in Jesus.
