32: The Strawberry Statement (1970) and La Haine (1995)
Oh! Yeah! I wanna riot! -- Riot/protest movies this week.
We start with the Strawberry Statement*, which maybe makes more sense when you are a stoned 16-year-old at a midnight show (cough, Matt). Despite some flaws, it still had some solid moments. The ending is memorable, and there is some recognition of the movement's absurdity. Then we get a little darker with La Haine. All three main actors deliver knockout performances. Every single scene will grab your attention. How did we never see this in the 90s?
