"ICE Immigrant Detentions Up 70% Under Biden! | Thinking Out Loud"
In this episode of his "Thinking Out Loud" series, Double D examines an op-ed article from "Truth Out", detailing the fact that ICE immigrant detentions have risen 70% under the Biden administration.
Double D delivers a synopsis on the conditions which have led to the current immigration crisis, detailing that U.S. foreign policy on behalf of Latin American dictators has resulted in the economic and political instability which has caused mass immigration from the region.
Double D then reads excerpts from the "Truth Out" op-ed, going on to dismiss the growing perception that immigration policy is less inhumane under Biden; stating that ICE still detains 15,000 children a day, has detained 5.8 million people over the course of twenty years, and has subjected countless human beings to atrocious conditions.
Double D examines the relationship between ICE and the Department of Homeland Security, and how the "War on Terror" and the "For Profit Prison Industry" has created an amalgam between the Intelligence Community, immigration agencies, and the Military Industrial Complex.
Double D rounds off the video by drawing parallels between the U.S. response to the "border crisis" and the building of genocidal infrastructure under Nazi Germany; conferring that with such infrastructure existing alongside a Military Industrial and Surveillance Police State is a clear and present example of fascism.
Double D closes by speculating on the future of this issue, suggesting that as climate change and political unrest in the developing world leads to more immigration, the existence of a powerful evangelical-neo-conservative political bloc within the U.S. could lead to an increasingly barbaric answer to the immigration question.
