How Great Shall Be My Joy!
How Great Shall Be My Joy is a weekly podcast, put out on Sunday afternoons, to help the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints be more effective member missionaries. It includes both actual experiences and training tips on how to more effectively share the gospel with others by being an instrument in the Lord’s hands. My desire is that by listening to these podcasts, members of the Church will have more frequent, fun, and fulfilling member missionary experiences and eliminate the guilt that many members of the Church feel when member missionary work is discussed. Episode 23: Not the Best Example...!
I don’t know if you’ve ever been used publicly as an example of how NOT to do member missionary work, but I have! It happened when I was a student at BYU in front of about 2000 people.
The incident occurred on a plane flight to New Zealand when I was 21. Little did I know that a man I met on that flight, Wayne Chamberlain, would later come to B.Y.U. as a regional representative and tell a story about that flight that didn’t put me in the best light as a member missionary. I was sitting in the audience when he told the story.
Wayne is one of the classiest guys you’ll ever meet. Learn from my bad example so that it never happens to you! Enjoy this podcast.
