1st Sunday in Lent
John 16: 16-33
In the season of Lent, we are reminded of the powerful and redemptive movement of Jesus toward the cross, and the greater deliverance He offers to humanity through His sacrifice and resurrection. Just as Joseph’s brothers meant evil for him, but God used it for a greater purpose, so too did the forces of evil align against Jesus—yet God used it all for our salvation. As we journey through this season of reflection and repentance, we are reminded that while evil may seem to prevail, God’s purpose is always greater, and His plans are never thwarted. In the ultimate act of good, Jesus moves from death to life, and in Him, we too move from death to eternal life.
