Counting the Cost: Walking the Path of Discipleship

Jesus calls His followers to count the cost to surrender everything in order to follow Him. True discipleship is not half-hearted or casual; it is a decisive commitment that shapes all of life. Moses echoes this truth as he sets before God’s people the choice between life and death, blessing and curse.
Through Word and Sacrament, we are reminded that the Kingdom life begins with faith and trust in Christ. The path of discipleship is costly, but it leads to the life, joy, and blessing only God can give.
