Advent Disappointment: The Hope That Doesn’t Fail // BSLC Sermon

Beautiful Savior, SeaTac WA

Second Sunday in Advent Sermon from Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in SeaTac, WA.

On December 7th, 2025, we continue our Advent series exploring the tension between disappointment and the deeper fulfillment Christ brings.

This week’s theme, “Advent Disappointment,” points us to a kingdom that does not rise through force or spectacle.

In Isaiah 11:1–10, we meet the promised shoot from the stump of Jesse—One who brings righteousness, peace, and restoration to creation.

In Matthew 3:1–12, John the Baptist prepares God’s people for a Messiah who comes not to dominate, but to redeem.

Advent invites us to release our cravings for control and open our hearts to the compassion, justice, and renewal Christ brings.

Whether you were with us in person or joining through this recording, may this message deepen your hope as we journey toward Christmas.
