“Emmanuel in Our Distress” – First Sunday After Christmas Sermon Audio

In this sermon, “Emmanuel in Our Distress,” we hear how the joy of Christmas does not erase hardship, but meets us within it. Isaiah 63: 7–14 recalls the Lord’s steadfast mercy that carried His people through wilderness and sorrow. Matthew 2: 13–23 shows the child of Bethlehem becoming a refugee, fleeing danger and sharing in fear, loss, and exile.
Here, the promise of Emmanuel God with us is proclaimed not as distant comfort, but as present help. Christ enters distress to redeem it, lifting His people with grace and peace that endure beyond the season.
