139: The Most Strategic Place To Get Visible In Your Business
Simplify your online marketing and attract more clients to your business, with more ease and in less time!
In this episode, Christine emphasizes the critical decision of choosing a primary platform for online visibility. She discusses the significance of selecting the right platform for your online visibility, focusing on one's personality, purpose, and passions.
Christine explains how "Having a plan that allows you to show up consistently in your business is how you attract sustainable clients."
Key Takeaways From The Episode:
- Choose one primary platform: Focus on one platform rather than spreading yourself thin across multiple, allowing you to maximize impact and effectiveness.
- Avoid overwhelm and burnout: Concentrating efforts on a single platform prevents burnout and ensures a clear, focused message.
- Consistency is key: Committing to a primary platform for 90 days provides the opportunity to experience the benefits of consistency and attract sustainable clients.
- Align with your unique gifts and preferences: Select a platform that resonates with your personality, purpose, and passions to showcase authenticity and energize your content.
- Attract your ideal clients: Using language and messaging that resonates with your ideal clients helps connect with the audience you're most excited to serve.

0:33
If you're a passionate heart centered entrepreneur, thought leader or expert looking to stand out from the crowd with confidence, you're in the right place.
0:42
Are you ready?
0:43
Let's get visible.
0:47
Welcome to, let's get visible entrepreneurs.
0:49
I'm your host, Christine Ammerman.
0:51
I'm so excited to talk with you today about the most strategic platform to get visible in your business.
0:59
We get a lot of questions about where to show up in order to attract clients.
1:06
And I'm here to really make this simple for you because I know there are so many places to get visible and how do you choose the best one for your business?
1:17
Right?
1:17
They're the big ones, Facebook, Instagram, tiktok, linkedin X formerly Twitter youtube, right?
1:23
And we as entrepreneurs are typically very Domenic, which means we love dopamine, which means we're driven by it, which means we like new things, we like new things, we like the reward of chasing something new, understanding it.
1:40
Sometimes we're all in learning mode too often and not putting ourselves out there.
1:44
Right?
1:45
And this can lead to a lot of overwhelm and this can lead to analysis paralysis there.
1:54
I said it because we're trying to figure out where exactly are our people, where exactly are your ideal clients or what we call your clable clients?
2:04
And then there's the whole, how do we optimize for one platform or more platforms?
2:10
How do we create consistency?
2:15
Here's what I want to tell you if you're a solo rene listening to this and you are trying to be multiple places.
2:23
That is a recipe for burnout.
2:25
My friend, I have been there.
2:27
It is a recipe for overwhelmed burnout and quite honestly not doing anything well.
2:32
So what do we do here?
2:35
I recommend if you're a solo prene, you choose one primary platform, one primary platform.
2:41
If you're not a solo prep prene, then maybe you have a primary and a secondary.
2:46
OK.
2:47
But do not try to be everywhere, please.
2:49
For the love, I have tried this, I have had clients try it and it winds up watering down your message and you don't get traction anywhere.
2:59
So I want you to consider choosing one primary platform to get to either 10-K real followers, 10,000 real followers or 10-K months before you try to expand your reach to other platforms.
3:18
So essentially, are you making six figures?
3:21
Six figures is like 8300 a month.
3:24
So 10-K months just over that, are you making six figures, if not one platform, if you have bandwidth and you're making more than 10-K months, consider a secondary platform right now.
3:42
For us, our primary platform is the podcast and we'll talk about why it's one of my favorite things to do.
3:49
It informs our content strategy for everywhere else.
3:51
Yay, alignment and strategy and simplicity.
3:55
Well, my secondary platform is Facebook because that's where I have the most connections overall.
4:03
It's what, where I'm most comfortable and I've been consistent there.
4:07
Now we're posting other places because we're beyond 10-K months because I have support.
4:13
I have my full time right hand woman, Nicole and she's brilliant with content.
4:20
Guess what?
4:21
I did it myself, only myself for a lot of years and you can do it too.
4:26
So I'm gonna challenge you dopaminergic entrepreneur to pick one platform and get consistent on it for 90 days.
4:35
I want you to see, I want you to experience what committing is like just like committing to a niche.
4:46
If you haven't listened to the episode on Niching, please go back and listen to that.
4:51
It's really, really important and we can add on to that here by inviting you to commit to that niche, to commit to that clable client as we call them for 90 days.
5:03
It could be the same 90 days that you commit to that primary platform.
5:06
Be consistent.
5:08
Watch your brain probably go into scarcity and freak out and witness it knowing that I just told you it was probably gonna happen.
5:16
OK?
5:17
When you choose a primary platform, you commit to it for 90 days, your brain is gonna freak out and tell you probably you're probably gonna have FOMO.
5:24
Same thing with your clable client.
5:26
You're probably gonna have FOMO.
5:26
OK?
5:28
Now, a section of your population is on every platform.
5:34
A section of your population is on every platform.
5:38
What does that mean?
5:40
When you go to try to pick one of these primary platforms, it's not worth spending days or weeks on the demographic research.
5:50
Everyone I have ever coached or consulted on considering a platform like one of these that we mentioned.
5:58
There's enough of your people on each of them.
6:01
There are enough of your people on each of them, especially if you have a clable client who is like you or who is like you were OK?
6:14
Because at the end of the day, your primary platform should be wherever you're most comfortable using it because that's where you'll show up consistently.
6:23
All right.
6:23
Spoiler alert.
6:25
Now, to dive into this a little bit more, it's at the intersection of your personality, purpose and passions, right?
6:33
What am I talking about your purpose?
6:35
Who are you here to serve?
6:37
Who is your clable client?
6:39
Do you know that person's language?
6:42
Do you use that person's actual language in your positioning and messaging?
6:47
If not vulnerable client interviews who you were when you were your ideal client?
6:53
Go back to that.
6:54
Do not overcomplicate this.
6:57
Do not try to put it in your own words, it won't land, it won't land.
7:03
So bring your purpose across, bring your why across in using your ideal client, your clable clients.
7:12
How essentially using their language?
7:14
Consider your personality too if you're like overwhelmed, trying to decide which platform, which social media platform to use?
7:21
Well, consider where do you like to show up already?
7:24
Likely it's because you're consuming content in the way that you like to put it out there?
7:30
Are you a writer?
7:32
You might be more of a reader.
7:34
Are you a performer?
7:36
You might be more of a live streamer or a podcaster, right?
7:41
You already have a way that you prefer to create content.
7:43
I see a lot of times people trying to create content out of their shoulds like sitting down to write when they would much rather have a conversation with somebody or feeling like they have to be visible on video because somebody said that this platform or other is prioritizing video.
7:58
I don't really buy that.
7:59
I want you to show up consistently first in the way that's easiest for you that in and of itself is huge and you're probably not giving yourself enough credit for that because you're probably a high achiever for whom it's never enough.
8:10
All right.
8:11
So that's part of the work too.
8:13
The marketing strategy you use, gets to align with your unique gifts and how you are wired.
8:19
Christine loves to talk.
8:21
This is, she's a verbal processor.
8:22
This is why we have a podcast.
8:24
Thank you for listening.
8:25
I'm so grateful because I'd love to share energy with you in this way.
8:29
What do you enjoy most?
8:30
Now, we're talking about your passions, your preferences, your passions, your personality and your purpose.
8:35
Let's talk about your passions.
8:37
Which ways do you really love to show up?
8:39
You just heard me talk about why I love to show up here.
8:42
I love to interview people too.
8:45
So we'll be having an interview series as well when the time is right?
8:49
And we've got plenty of past interviews you can go back and listen to if you love interviews with some big time influencers.
8:54
Yay, because that's a lot of fun for me, sharing, sharing my connections, sharing interesting people and lessons learned.
9:00
I love that.
9:01
I was a documentarian.
9:04
What do you enjoy most?
9:06
What kind of content creation do you wanna go?
9:09
Do you go away and write in your journal and stream of consciousness, right?
9:15
Do you take a look at your ideal client language and record stuff in voice memo or as a podcast or just in conversation and transcribe it.
9:26
There are so many ways to do this when you build your marketing strategy, which is a huge part of building your business around what you love so that it fuels you.
9:38
Instead of burning you out, then you're gonna keep doing it simple as that.
9:44
Which is why I say as a former professor, as a former career counselor, as somebody who's been consulting and coaching for decades, you gotta pick the thing that you enjoy the most if you want to keep showing up because guess what marketing to get clients is the main task.
10:00
Besides serving those clients of where you're most likely in business right now at the level where you are, it's marketing and serving clients to multiple six figures and frankly marketing is marketing and sales are probably the biggest departments at much bigger companies as well.
10:20
So buckle up, right?
10:23
Not that you can't outsource this later, but you have a personal brand and that personal brand is most effective when you are sharing on a primary platform, your purpose in your ideal clients, language, letting your personality shine through because that is where people will connect with you the most and sharing your passions and your preferences.
10:46
That is where people are gonna feel your energy and you're probably a person who people tell I love your energy.
10:53
It's part of why I wanted to work with you, let that energy out in the way that it is best represented on your primary platform because there are an endless number of ways to get clients online.
11:03
If you try to hit them all, you're just watering down your message, choose one for 90 days to 10-K.
11:10
And let me know how it goes again at the end of the day.
11:14
Having a plan that allows you to show up consistently in your business is how you attract sustainable clients, is how you attract that number that you need is how you bring in the people that you are most excited to serve.
11:30
And that primary platform is wherever you're most comfortable, it's whatever you're already doing, it's wherever you're already scrolling the most because that's where you'll actually show up.
11:37
You understand the technology, you understand what's happening, you understand the trend, you understand how to post consistently.
11:44
If you hate it, you won't do it no matter how strategic it is.
11:48
And if you focus on everything again, it's not going to work.
11:52
So as bluntly as I can tell you, my friend, one primary platform, 2 10-K and beyond, I know people who are multi seven figure business owners who really only use one platform.
12:05
So which platform are you gonna use?
12:08
Let me know.
12:09
And if you've enjoyed this, please follow and subscribe.
12:12
If you haven't already.
12:14
Most importantly, you might know that we rebranded that there's a whole cache of amazing episodes to go back and listen to interviews how to all the things.
12:26
And since we rebranded to let's get visible entrepreneurs just a couple of episodes ago, most of our reviews went away when, even though we've been podcasting for four years now, it looks like we have only been doing it for a hot minute.
12:42
So would you consider leaving a review if you found this helpful easiest to do that on Apple Podcasts and Spotify?
12:49
I'd be so grateful.
12:51
I see all of those and it would mean a lot to me.
12:54
It also helps us share this message of simplifying online marketing and helping you to show up in a way that feels good for you so that you can keep putting your amazing work into the world.
13:07
Thank you so much for joining us for this episode of Let's get visible entrepreneurs.
