Well well well if it ain't true, Pell Jeremy with another episode. Hello, Pell Jeremy. We're here shooting in the hot box home student here in Kent Les Kent or New York Western New York finest podcast when you want a little entertainment. When you know the drill if it's your first time or your last time, thank you for listening. We have five things and five things on the front side and back side. Always check your motherfucking blind side. Let's go getting into it. Bills, what do we got? Well first thing we got here obstruct this. I've reviewed the footage. We've reviewed the tape. We've looked at the files. We've turned over every stone. Um the grass looks immaculate. I look forward to seeing what it looks like through the fall, through the winter. Um look forward to seeing how that heated field impacts snow melt and where those heaters are. And are we gonna be seeing green grass in December? Is that possible? Apparently. So let's just hold our horses on the stadium, people. Obstruct this. If you fucking bought one of those licenses and you had the possibility of seeing that in your view, you gotta live with it. I we'll see. We'll see. Someone said, you know, it's gonna look foggy if you get I listen. Look like it was a small percentage of people that have the obstructed views, so I feel bad for you, but let's move on. I realize I hadn't said anything about the Nickel City uniforms. They're bad. They're bad. Simple as that. My colleague Jason at work has a self-titled term called marketing minimalization, and there seems to be a Gen Zlurping of traditional brands into baby birded versions of chewed up. Here's a different digestion of the brand that's simpler for you to understand in your safe space. And that's what I feel about the Bills uniform. It seems like they took the concept and they took what they saw on Instagram. There's that one girl that does logo reimaginations, and they really just simplified it and they really just fucked it up. All that being said, I think they could have saved it. I think they could have saved it and they could have done a PR fucking Hail Mary for a touchdown if they just said, you know what? Our fans didn't like it, so we're gonna take it back. We're gonna say we're wrong. That's that didn't happen. Someone would probably either get fired or make the best decision of their career. I think you gotta take it back. I think you just say, listen, we're gonna stop right where we're ahead. We're gonna sell vintage 90s jerseys and we're gonna get them quick because we're the bills and we can get whatever we want, right? And we're just gonna wear the fucking red helmets. Or, if you see on my Twitter, I don't mind the gray with just the white hat. Just put the white hat on with the gray. Listen, it was a fail. There's been a lot of bad PR so far off the field for this Bills team. It's been ugly. The discipline seems to be lost in places around the building that weren't on the football field. Brandon Bean has clearly put discipline on the football field to replace Sean McDermott, but there's clearly some off-the-field immaturity in some of these decisions, mainly those uniforms. But for the most part, we like what we see so far. It's so early. This is preseason. It's the very first preseason game here in Buffalo, I believe. Whatever. Number two. On the field.

SPEAKER_01

A lot of good things so far.

SPEAKER_00

Uh Jim Leonard apparently is already a head coach. Um, hasn't coached a game yet in Buffalo, but warm welcome from his peers, Darrell Revis apparently applying to work for the Bills. Gonna have to watch this now. Gonna have to monitor because we don't want to have mutiny in a place that doesn't have a head coach right now. So is Jim Leonard going to end up being the head coach of the Buffalo Bills? We don't need to go there yet. But it sounds like it's possible. It sounds like he's already winning over some of the locker room, and hopefully it doesn't happen too quick on a quick 0-6 start with the Joe Brady firing. But apparently he's already a head coach, so that's great. That should help them win a Super Bowl this year, considering he's not yet a head coach, but there's been a lot of positive praise about Jimbo Len, and that's a good thing. Number three, I want to see how this run defense will look. This is the identityless, identity-less Jimbo Len defense, as we know. Big talk about tackling this week. Big talk about Achilles heel last year being tackling. So I want to see some tackling. I want to see what kind of tackling are they doing? Are they catch? Are they rugby? Are they catch and ride? Are they roping cattle? Are they hit sticking? Are they leaving a stick mark? Are they laying the lumber? Are they landing on? Are they finishing through? Are they gang tackling? Or is everybody just trying not to get hurt? Because football is a rough game and we gotta be conditioned to play for 17 games. So if you get hurt, you get hurt. But let's lay some fucking lumber. Oh, by the way, nice dunk by Coach Jimbo Len. Number four. Lot of Palmer buzz. Lot of buzz, lot of free buzz about Palmer right now. We were eyeing Skylar Bell, seeing a little buzz about him, but all of a sudden the buzz has moved over. Nobody loves Keon, as you know, we love Keon here at Blue Mafia. We love all the receivers, by the way. But we're quarterbacks. But I don't understand how Josh Palmer could be such a hot and cold entity. He goes and he'll have these splashes where people talk about him like he's gonna be the next Robert Meachum or the next, you know, Cooper Cup coming down the seam, getting open all the time. But the bottom line is this receiving core, it's gonna be everybody eats again. There's gonna be schemes, there's gonna be different levels, there's gonna be different packages, there's gonna be different game plans. But when it comes down to it, I want to see Josh Palmer perform. I want to see him make big plays, but what I really want to see is Josh Palmer on the field. Saw some highlights of Josh Allen coming back against Drake May last year in New England. You forget some of these great performances by Allen. I mean, to be honest, we are truly spoiled. We will never see a quarterback like this again in Buffalo. I'm sorry. No one will ever live up to this quarterback play by Josh Allen. I was watching highlights, and in the background I saw Josh Palmer celebrating, and I forgot he even existed on this team, to be honest. So he's getting a lot of praise as if he's contributed in a big way to this team, but we'll have our eyes on him. I want to see what he what he does. I want to see his body language, I want to see his energy in preseason. Is he is he contributing or is he just prancing around trying not to get hurt? Number five, lastly. Where are you, buddy? Paging Greg Rousseau. Greg Rousseau, you're now needed at the quarterback. I don't know if it's the new scheme. I don't know if it's just because Bradley Chubb is here. But one thing I know is Greg Rousseau is making a lot of money. Greg Rousseau is being paid like an all-pro. Greg Rousseau is getting paid to do more than just set the edge. A lot of people talk about how well he sets the edge. Well, that's a role that his position is supposed to fulfill, but we would like to see a little bit more spark out of him. On the other side, though, we're seeing a lot of positive buzz and positive quotes even coming from quarterback Josh Allen on the addition of Bradley Chubb veteran presence. Love hearing it. Clearly, though, it almost speaks to the lack of that then on the defense, does it not? We know that this defense has been a little bit uh weak when it comes to leadership the last few years. Obviously, looking for a leader to step up, Elarms Or's stepping into a leader position, but obviously he's still slotted second. You think one of these linebackers will get hurt? Also, looking at the depth chart, Joe Andreessen is like a second linebacker right now. And that's a good story for a movie, but I don't know if I love that. I don't know if I love a Lancaster legend being our second linebacker. So this might have some growing pains on this defense, but Brandon Bean has brought in some veteran stars. We have to give credit where credit is due. This dude has brought in some veteran stars. CJ, hopefully he plays. We don't know for sure yet. He has not suited up. There could be a pregame retirement. But Bradley Chubb sounds like uh there's a lot of positive things. We heard something about Dalton Kincaid saying something about him asking about how it was in Buffalo at one point when they played here. That is Bradley Chubb. So I'm excited to see Chubb. I'm excited to see this veteran presence. I'm excited, I'm excited to see how he speaks to the defense, how he speaks to his teammates, what kind of difference he makes on the sideline and as a leader. Because that's what it's all about here at Blue Mafia is being a leader and being there for your teammates and not getting weak when shit hits a fan and not pussying out when you get down by two scores. So on the other side, we're getting a little bit different, but we still got your five NFL quarterback questions. Five quarterback eyeballs. Who am I looking at right now as we enter this preseason?

SPEAKER_01

On the other side. It's Blue Buffy.

SPEAKER_00

So this segment is going to be a little bit about five quarterbacks. I look, I I know that I didn't play NFL quarterback, but if you've played quarterback, or if you've tried, or if you've played football, you know what it means to play the game, and you know what it means to suit up and put on that helmet. Whether you're playing in front of six people or sixty thousand people, you're suiting up. I got a two-year-old son this October. And I just still admire these cats. I still admire these absolute fucking superstars that go out there every week with bloodthirsty savages seeking to absolutely behead them and throw perfect feathers into their fellow brethren's fingers forty to fifty yards down the field with a perfect fucking spiral. There's an art, there's a beauty, but there's a third eye. There's a beauty to the ability, I call it the breeze ability to see the field geometrically. Some guys are throwing without looking. They're looking, they're feeling, they're seeing, they're anticipating, and that's a quality that we know we hear the word anticipation. Two guys, though, our first two here, rookie boys. Rookie boys that may not even be starting week one, but they're already on the watch here at Blue Mafia. They've been on the watch. But before we go to number one, we have a quick shout out. There's a video, I retweeted it. Follow me, Jar7 Reg on Twitter. X Fuck you. Colt Brennan, one of the best preseason debuts ever of all time for the Washington Redskins back in the day. I thought I was admiring greatness, and I was watching the clips. It was John Madden calling it. Are you kidding me? Al Michaels, John Madden calling Colt Brennan. It was awesome. So number one here, the sloth, the rookie, Carson back. Look, we've been watching him since Georgia. We watched him at Miami last year. He was never perfect. He had some weird off-the-field stuff. Dayton, cute blondes, getting sports cars, getting sport car sports cars stolen. Getting called the sloth from Ice Age. Being rich before ever being a pro. Being a pro before being a pro Excuse me. Guy to raid. This kid has always been fascinating to me. He's always seemed to have a weird star power that I I said it the other day. I think he might have something of this new class of NIL quarterback that they're good enough already in college to know what they need to do in the pros. They just gotta stay safe and keep it clean and get there, make their money, take their time and enjoy their life. He's walking into Arizona and he looks like he's been a pro for a while. He looks like he's been studying the pro game for a while. He throws the Duke well, which, as you know, if you listen to our pod, there's a difference in throwing the Duke and throwing a college ball. It's a different spin, it's a different ball. And some guys just don't throw the Duke well. He throws the Duke well. Next one. Another guy that's clearly throwing the Duke well. Saw the highlights of the nerd Fernando Mendoza. Apparently, fucking Fernando Mendoza is Tom Brady. He's taller though. This could get ugly for the NFL. Look, we don't want to jump to conclusions. We don't want to act like this guy's gonna be the next Tom Brady, but he looked very sharp in his debut. The anticipation, look, he's playing against potential backups and scrubs. Still, this isn't game action. He's not getting blitz as much, he's not getting all the shit thrown at him. But that's a pretty freaking good debut for both of these young guys. So happy for them. Moving on, number three. QB watch Lamar. Where are you? What's going on? Who are you gonna be this year? There's a lot of change there. Jim Harbaugh's out. There's a lot of new coaching staff. I really am interested to see what happens to Lamar from this point out. Is Lamar Jackson going to fizzle out? I don't know. I've always been fascinated by him. He's so electric. He's no one's closer to a player of Michael Vick than Lamar Jackson. Um he has seemingly fallen off the radar since he got paid. He seems to enjoy his life. He doesn't seem to want to win. But who knows? Change the scenery, new people. He he does seem like he wants to compete. I just don't know if he cares about winning Super Bowl rings, because I honestly, at this point, if you got paid that much, would you care? Number four, a guy that's probably not gonna care about much other than his heart and his heart and his beautiful baby girlfriend, Justin Herbert. I'm interested to see what was gonna happen with Herbert this year. We talked about the love triangle between McDaniel, Herbert, Beers. What's going on? What's it gonna be? I I was really excited to see McDaniel with Herbert, but what are we gonna see? Is it gonna be beauty? Is it gonna be beast? I don't know. I have to think that Jim Harbaugh and Mike McDaniel in the same building is gonna be a challenge for anybody. If they can work together. Not everybody can work together. Who knows? You could see you could see Jim Harbaugh being like, get that fucking guy out of here by week three. Who knows? But I'm interested and watching. Number five, last one here. The cool hand Luke, the smoking Joe Burrow.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, he's so cool. He's so cool. God, look at how cool he spins the rock. Did you see that video of Joe Burrow throwing the rock before the game?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, did they win? No. Joe Burrow. What what's his story gonna be? Because Jackson Dark's in town, and there's a cool new white boy. There's a cool new icy white boy named Jackson Dart. Who's gonna expire first? That's a good bet. Is Burrow gonna fizzle out or is Dart gonna fizzle out? Obviously, everyone's gonna take Dart's gonna get hurt, he's gonna get banged up, but I don't know. This is my last like quagmire here at the fifth round. I'm interested to see if Jackson Dart can mature into a pro because he looks like he's acting the part just like Joe Burrow, and they both played in the SEC down south. I'm watching both of those guys. I'm excited. Look, I'm still a freak for NFL football. I'm still a freak for watching quarterbacks give it a shot, try, fail, succeed, cry, win, lose. It's football season, baby. You can smell it in the air. Thanks for listening. Tell your friends, tell your foders, tell your motors. Thank you for listening. Go Bills.
