Speaker 1:

Let's do this. Welcome everybody to another episode of the Game of Traffic Show. I'm your host, mike Sampson, chilling with my co-host. Simply amazing how I'm doing today. Everybody get up for Mr Amazing. On today's Game of Traffic Show, we're going to talk Microsoft and AI. We're also going to talk about Microsoft again. Sales are going flat on the Xbox. Mr Amazing, what do you got to say about that?

Speaker 2:

Not surprised at all.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we are surprised, but we did predict it earlier. This year it's supposed to be Microsoft's year.

Speaker 2:

I did say that. I did say that.

Speaker 1:

So right now, that looks good for our prediction? Yeah, not at all. We're also talking about the new movie for Will Smith and Martin Lawrence Guess what bad boys. It's coming back, baby, all right, but again today's show talking about PlayStation alleged showcase or state of play coming this May, according to several sources. Well, why was it several sources, will they say Mr Grubb? Ah, he heard. Mr Grubb is saying he, he heard. Mr Grubb has said he heard, I've heard that there will be a PlayStation something, either a state of play or a showcase next month, which is May. So, mr Amazing, what do you think about this? He said that, but he also said a showcase will be, if held, will have over 30 games not bad at all, actually.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, I heard the same thing too. Screen Rant reported the same thing, but they're calling it a state of play, though on Screen Rant, but nothing's official yet. But we do know something is gonna be held, and which makes sense because it was a year ago, from May 2022, when they had their last state last day to play, and this is also a month prior to what would be E3, which is true. So all this factors in tells me that there is definitely going to be a showcase. Now, what everyone wants to know is are we going to see any PlayStation first party games? Are we going to see any PlayStation new material or any third party games that's going to be featured, or what's going to be featured and based on? Go ahead, let me correct myself.

Speaker 1:

Last year the State of the Showcase had 30 games.

Speaker 2:

Oh, okay, that's what I was about to say Last year.

Speaker 1:

State of the Play had 30 games plus the portal reveal Sorry, everybody, go on, mr Mason.

Speaker 2:

That's all good. So I think what the state of I'm going to go with state of play, because I think that's what it is, but it's not official, but I'm saying state of play what we're going to look forward to is the games that have been spoken about. For example, what we've been talking about throughout the whole year, the top game we've been talking about. That was in development and we I expect this to be well, most probably Silent Hill 2, the remake.

Speaker 1:

Silent Hill 2.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, silent Hill 2, that's the most anticipated one, I believe, is going to be shown. The second one that was very anticipated, that didn't get talked about a lot, was the Ghost of Tsushima. Well, that was recently the rumors been spiking a lot for that recently. But I think for sure. I think Silent Hill 2 remake and Metal Gear Solid, delta Snake Eater I think we're finally going to see full-blown coverage of that, but didn't we see some from the Xbox showcase?

Speaker 1:

They showed some of that. They showed some of that, but I think you're going to see more different.

Speaker 2:

You're going to see more gameplay, I think. On this one, I'm definitely too excited about. No, no, you're right. And another one At first first party. Yeah, I think the one that we should get kind of excited about is we're finally going to see Ben Studios' new multiplayer IP that everyone kept mentioning. I think that might be one that might, you know, get people on edge. And I think the biggest thing that's going to be announced at the State of Play Beyonds with you is going to be the. Microsoft here's the words coming to PlayStation.

Speaker 2:

No, I think it's going to be Sony revealing the PS5 Pro. No, I think that's going to happen.

Speaker 1:

I think that's going to be the biggest thing. They're going to do the same thing, slim. They didn't announce it until the holiday season, right after the holiday season.

Speaker 2:

So you're talking about Announcement A month later?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because they want to Hold sales for the PS5 they have now, so they're going to continue Possibility. Yeah, they're going to continue as they did last year. They're going to announce it Somewhere October, early November. This is a PS5 Pro. They're going to put Pro on their blog. I mean, that's a possibility. Maybe have a little YouTube commercial about it on their PlayStation network and go from there.

Speaker 2:

I mean, I don't think you're wrong. I can see that happening. I can see that happening. But also, to continue on, do you think we see a Marvel Spider-Man 2 DLC or expansion pack announced? No, no, you don't think so Too soon.

Speaker 1:

No, I don't think they're going to have it. Remember, they said they wasn't going to do any DLC from Marvel. The only thing they might say they mentioned the rumors that the Venom will come out within 2026. Okay, and also they canceled Spider-Man multiplayer game. Multiplayer games.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you showed me that the last day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that was cancerous, you're not going to hear anything about that, so we're not going to hear anything about that. It might. There's a rumor of what do you call Insomniac, with the remake of what's that game Infamous?

Speaker 2:

Oh, Infamous, that was your game.

Speaker 1:

I never really played that was your game, though. Yeah, Infinite Second Son. What's the multiplayer game they teased in a previous?

Speaker 2:

show that. Um, uh, let's see. Uh, koronor, oh, um, I know what you're talking about. Oh, my God, that's in my tongue too. I do know what you're saying, though.

Speaker 1:

What is?

Speaker 2:

uh, you know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1:

I do what is uh, you can't you know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I do know it's.

Speaker 1:

Oh my god you got it um? I I know you're talking about concord. I think it's concord.

Speaker 2:

I think it's concord also.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think that's what it is that's the multiplayer game they teach prior to the um, like last year, yeah. So I don't know what they're going to do with that. They're going to come out with that. There's another multiplayer game that they've mentioned before, but I forgot the name of that. Not really into multiplayer games and it looked kind of it didn't impress me that much. I forgot the name of it.

Speaker 2:

Do you think that we're going to see Because over 15, I think it was 1,000 people signed this petition? Are you thinking of a reverse and we're going to see a Days Gone sequel?

Speaker 1:

I thought about that. I said that you know near-mill sequel the game was to me. I didn't think Delivered was what I thought they were going to deliver. Yeah, the game did sell over 5 million copies.

Speaker 2:

That is true, and it went to the PC and did very well too on PC, right yeah?

Speaker 1:

With the PC. I don't know how much it sold.

Speaker 2:

On PC.

Speaker 1:

I know so far more copies.

Speaker 2:

Okay, and speaking of PC, we have Ghost of Tsushima coming on PC in May, so that also makes me believe that we are going to see, like you stated, ghost of Tsushima 2 fight Sucker Punch, the sequel, and with the fact that a game like Rise and Roll that's out right now making waves, I think this is the perfect time for us for Sucker Punch to drop the the bomb on us with a part two, which I can't wait, if they do, because it's four years since the release of Ghost of Tsushima, like you had stated earlier.

Speaker 1:

I mean also, they also could mention Until Dawn, the remake okay, oh yeah, until Dawn the remake.

Speaker 2:

Okay, oh yeah, until Dawn the remake. We did speak about that, you did speak about that Still, Blade Be Outer Rays.

Speaker 1:

You're not going to talk about that again. When's that coming out? That's coming out April.

Speaker 2:

Oh, so any day now that's one of my to-buy games too.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's one of the best ones. There's controversy reference to the way theest thing I'm with you on that. Ig mentioned that the sex symbol. Stop it, I know, stop it.

Speaker 2:

You guys see Laura Crawford, you know the little poop poop shorts she has.

Speaker 1:

You saw all these video game characters.

Speaker 2:

Especially Dead or Alive characters Half naked. Come on A Street Fighter. What's that girl's name? Laura from Street Fighter? Okay, dominic and. Soul Calibur, yeah of course Come on, man Come on.

Speaker 1:

Come on and there's like Game of Thrones came to the side where the oh remember, they say the character from Fable wasn't looking good. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. They did knock on that and then they say the Horizon Zero Dawn. The girl was like face a little round in the move for.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, for it's like people can't stop. Oh, they're too sexy, they're ugly, I wasn't paying attention. I was just like but that's society.

Speaker 1:

Now, though, that's society, everything's about looks I worry about cause I know it's always about looks. Any game's about looks, but you know, back in the days when you get a Metroid back in the game, Nintendo.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh man Metroid looks sexy.

Speaker 1:

She was ugly no.

Speaker 2:

I know who cares about that.

Speaker 1:

No one was rushing. Oh, peace is peace. Oh my God, what's that dress? Is it too short?

Speaker 2:

No, I just care if the game played well.

Speaker 1:

You know. So you just care about the game play and where the game played Exactly. You know if it has some decent story story exactly people just overdoing it exactly because, like I said, when you go, these uh outfits decorate for some of these games. Yeah, some outfits are scandalous. We know that's supposed to young men playing these games. Even some girls would do that too. Put scantily outfits on these uh female characters. But, like I said, we see ryu half naked with muscles. Nobody said anything about that, that's true.

Speaker 2:

I mean he's shirtless come on, as long as you're not doing any cosplay in any Laura Crawford outfit. Man, I'm good man come on.

Speaker 1:

Mr Mason never been to Comic Con. I'm sorry. I begged him to go. He never went, so no question you'd be like god damn.

Speaker 2:

I see videos and pictures, though I know what you're talking about.

Speaker 1:

let's go back to the state of play Death Stranded 2, they'll probably get more information about that. You think so?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, probably Because we just got some info on the last one. Probably get some more information about that. I was hoping maybe some Grand Theft Auto that would be big. That's not going to happen. You don't think so? No, but didn't they say they're going to give two shocked 2.24. We should get some actually some footage, because that was one of the things that they said more footage to come, or whatever it was when it ended.

Speaker 1:

I not not happening.

Speaker 2:

We'll see I mean, it's like what's it? 2.25, right, yeah, 2.25.

Speaker 1:

Next year, allegedly, we'll see it might get delayed, who knows it? Might. It might get delayed because these games take forever to make.

Speaker 2:

That's true.

Speaker 1:

There's like 10,000 patches they need to do Mm-hmm. So I mean, I guess it no, I guess it no, not happening, not happening All right, we'll see man, we'll see. Anything else that you think about other games you might think might happen, because we knew PlayStation.

Speaker 2:

We can't expect a lot of first party games, because they said it from the get go this was not going to be the year for it. So I think those we touched on, or I?

Speaker 1:

think they still mentioned when no first party games that we know from existing franchises that came out, the big franchises yeah so those uncharted Sorry. It could be Older franchises might get induced. You never know. That's true Soulcon.

Speaker 2:

That would be nice Right.

Speaker 1:

Rainbow Six, you know so.

Speaker 2:

Maybe we'll see something. We're talking about first party titles, first party. I see what you're saying.

Speaker 1:

We'll see, maybe Uncharted, a new Uncharted game, which one will be happening. Nah, I'm just throwing stuff out, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I'll be outside, because I would've got a lot of buzz by now already.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so I don't know. I mean, as far as that, the only Foam Star that already came out already and it's out so far, it hasn't gotten no buzz since it came out.

Speaker 2:

Fake Splatoon. Yeah, fake Splatoon, all right.

Speaker 1:

Anything else you want to say about this topic? No, what else you want to say about this topic?

Speaker 2:

Nah, but we'll find out. We're just a month away, so I'm looking forward to it to see what Sony got for us, you know, since it's been a quiet year for them. But let's say but why should I say quiet, it's been okay.

Speaker 1:

Okay, yeah.

Speaker 2:

It's not been a bad year. It's not bad At first, first part.

Speaker 1:

I think people always Even damn well Microsoft or Sony Comes out with First party games. If they're exclusive To that platform, They'll publish it. To me that's a First party game.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean yeah, cause. Look at a game Like Rise of the Ronin. That brought a lot Of spark to the Sony yeah, so you know you have it and even to Nintendo what peaches. They bring sparks. So exclusives do Bring sparks to you.

Speaker 1:

Alright, alright, but the only thing we're asking. One more question yeah, state of play or showcase State of play?

Speaker 2:

I guess Five games, six games, showcase Posts you a bigger thing Like an hour long I can say State of play, but being that it's Prior to the E3, well it's not E3, but the gaming convention. Whatever you want to call it now, whatever it is done, it's called nothing now, mr.

Speaker 1:

Smith, it's not happening.

Speaker 2:

So I think it'll be a showcase to get the buzz going for the summer months leading into the fall holiday.

Speaker 1:

You got a lot of stuff. You're going to have a showcase. You got a lot of stuff to show.

Speaker 2:

But I do think so. That's why I think they're going to reveal, even though you disagree with me, that's why I but no? We'll find out. No, we'll find out.

Speaker 1:

You want to place a bet ahead?

Speaker 2:

No, you don't right Yo. When do I shy away from a bet? Yo, all right good.

Speaker 1:

When do I shy away from a bet? I guess we're going Hooters again. Hooters. It is All right, mr Amazing. We still got five other bets we had Because, if anyone listens to the podcast myself, if anyone listens to the podcast my sub-mister Amazing had a bet regarding who would be the top sales. I thought I was the top sales for February.

Speaker 2:

Well, that we read. We didn't say that already.

Speaker 1:

So it's between I picked Dragon's Dolphin 2.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I went with Rise of the Ronin. No, no, I went with Peaches. Pardon me Peaches.

Speaker 1:

The only thing I can say about that right now we didn't get the full. We don't have the full results yet you know, peach is killing it, peach is the head of Dragon Dormant 2 in Japan, okay, but in UK Dormant is head of Peach.

Speaker 2:

In UK okay.

Speaker 1:

So we don't know what the full results is. Like I said, it's a two different platforms.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Dma, it's out on the Xbox and.

Speaker 1:

PlayStation, so two different platforms, but let's be real.

Speaker 2:

I'm not real. Uk sells an Xbox already. Tells me yes, I don't have to worry about that.

Speaker 1:

After this, after this thing, right now, let's go to Xbox sales.

Speaker 2:

Let's go. This is a perfect segue.

Speaker 1:

Let's go to Xbox sales. Mr Mason, recently information has come from Game Industry Biz editor Christopher Drake speaking in a podcast after returning from GDC Game Development Conference San Francisco. What happened a couple weeks ago? Man, they were talking records about yo Xbox, bro Xbox. So he said he heard it from a prominent company and not so prominent company. Xbox performance in Europe is just flatlining, mr Big, flatlining, boom, flatlining, mr Big.

Speaker 2:

You might as well put the EK sound.

Speaker 1:

You know what I'm saying. Even one person is wondering why they put their game on Xbox and put the extra effort that is true, mr Amazing. That's sad when you think about that, mr Amazing another major, another major company who released a big game last year, said I don't know why we bought or supported damn that's bad, phil Spencer.

Speaker 2:

Man, you're not going to respond. He already said they lost the war of the consoles, so what else do you expect him to say?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so it's amazing Because companies are ticked off. That would be too. You're putting efforts on Xbox Series S and the Xbox X, which I totally agree with Microsoft, which is to just put a discless digital, just put a. The Xbox X, which I told you with Microsoft, which is to just put a diskless digital, just put a digital Xbox X. Why waste your time with the S, why, why?

Speaker 2:

They try to get the sell.

Speaker 1:

No, bro, you told me the most powerful console. Stick to that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I have a lot to say about this too, actually.

Speaker 1:

But we're going to break it down though Go ahead, go ahead, go, go, go, go ahead.

Speaker 2:

So I'm going to piggyback on what you said. Xbox is doing horrible in Europe. Let's just keep it flat. Let's keep it real. They cut prices in Europe and it's still not moving units.

Speaker 1:

Even they have sales in the United States.

Speaker 2:

I mean, it's not in Europe, yeah, but I always see Xbox themselves, yeah. And then, like you said, they even stated we might as well let games like Indiana Jones and Gears of War go to other platforms.

Speaker 1:

You're never going to hear that. Well, Gears of War is an Xbox product.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but they're saying let them go to other platforms because they're saying the sales are so bad, pretty much. They're saying Xbox is going to be a new Sega. That's what they're saying. I'm having to.

Speaker 1:

I mean, that's what everybody does mention. Anybody listen to Game Podcast News or on YouTube.

Speaker 2:

People are comparing them to Sega, that's what's going to end up being and I'm going to insist, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that's saying this Microsoft is their own demise, because I don't think they know what they want to do. They don't know if they want to be a console. They don't know if they want to just be a streaming thing.

Speaker 1:

They are bipolar?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and I think that's why Xbox is like this Because you're not concentrating. For example, sony said we're going to come out with a console and we're going to make the best exclusive. They got an identity. Nintendo said our identities to make the best exclusive. They got an identity. Nintendo said our identities were not going to be the strongest console, but we're going to have the most exciting games that we can take for you and we're going to be the best handheld game and console at the same time. Nintendo had identity Microsoft. I think the problem is they don't have an identity.

Speaker 1:

I totally agree with you. I totally agree with you. They don't play that great on it. Exactly. You know, I'm saying not saying playstation, but placing that booster did a more powerful system.

Speaker 2:

Yeah microsoft did exactly now microsoft?

Speaker 1:

they don't know. They've been putting everything. Well, we exclusives only for coming to Xbox only and PC. Now they're putting exclusives on PlayStation and Nintendo.

Speaker 2:

Exactly.

Speaker 1:

So what are?

Speaker 2:

you. That's what I'm saying. Like, if you want to just be, if you want to concentrate on the Game Pass, I think you have to understand I'm okay with Game Pass, I'm okay with Game Pass. But my thing is, if Game Pass is the route you're going to want to go, you might have to start thinking about maybe this console thing is not for console wars, not for us. Let's just concentrate on putting it on third parties, like you know, on the whatever I don't know, whatever it is I don't know iP. Maybe you want to concentrate on that. Maybe the console world is not for you.

Speaker 1:

It's amazing they're focused on making refrigerators.

Speaker 2:

I know that's a thing. Toasters, toasters, refrigerators. It's so sad, but I wouldn't be surprised if the fridge was their best selling thing they sold out.

Speaker 1:

That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2:

I'm laughing, but it might have been their best selling thing.

Speaker 1:

I remember when it came back and it's talking Mike, you get it Like nah Toast, I thought about Toast, I thought about, but no, I'm not getting it. You know what I'm saying. But Microsoft, I think, like I said, don't have that identity. They don't, they don't.

Speaker 2:

Don't have that identity a lot, but I do think Microsoft is a great system and oh yeah, it's great, no doubt and I always tell you this.

Speaker 2:

I'm like a broken record I had. I was a. You know I was a big Microsoft person. Lately I have not been, but if the right games. There's two games that gets me back on and I said it plain until I was on the show I know one is Gears of War. Gears of War and Fable really do enjoy. You came out with those games early on in the franchise history. The system's been out for four years. Those two games should have came out within two years of the system being released, because now you should be working on the Fable 5 now you know what I'm saying or Gears of War or whatever. I lost track of what number it's on. Now you should be working on those right now. The fact that they're not in and then the system's already on its life cycle, practically Well in the middle of the life cycle, is it four years now.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but now they're talking about a new powerful system, exactly, but like I always say, my quote always been it's about the games, I don't care how powerful the system is. Of course, with the Nintendo Switch, though, it's a hybrid, not like Sony or Microsoft, it's a hybrid console.

Speaker 2:

It sold over 120 130 million consoles come on, push it for the top console of all time.

Speaker 1:

I have to edit you that. After that, I'm going to edit it. Alright, that's fine, go ahead it's there.

Speaker 2:

Push it for the top console of all time.

Speaker 1:

None of Microsoft consoles have sold over a million.

Speaker 2:

Okay, but it's pushing for it's there it's pushing for the top consoles all the time it's pushing for that.

Speaker 1:

And none of Microsoft consoles have sold over a million.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you put me on to that Over a hundred million. Yeah, you told me about that. None of them.

Speaker 1:

Even the heyday with the 360, sony PlayStation they still outsold them.

Speaker 2:

That's crazy. So do you think Microsoft, by having two major they're not failures but not hitting out the ballpark with Halo and what's the game that everybody would expect to come out this year? The space game, starfield, starfield but not hitting, by not capitalizing those two? That hurts them.

Speaker 1:

But also Redfall, supposed to be a good that was a flop.

Speaker 1:

You had a publisher who's used to doing single-player games and you're forcing them to do multiplayer games. And also Sony could fall into that trap too, actually, their first-party companies who really are into quote a first or two sorry single-player games, yeah, no, no, I understand what you're saying. You're right. So it's like it's a dangerous thing when you try to force a company who used to do one thing and you have to do another thing, and when you do these live service games, these multiplayer games, you gotta have a team working on this for years to continue that. Yeah, and I think Sony has to realize that hit a great hit with Helldivers Part 2.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that surprised a lot of people and that game probably cost as much.

Speaker 1:

It's $40, and it probably cost as much to make.

Speaker 2:

That's true. So before we switch over to the topic of this one, my thing to you is can Microsoft be helped Saved in Europe? What's your answer to that?

Speaker 1:

Microsoft never had a good footing in.

Speaker 2:

Europe. They never did, but they never suffered this bad, though, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Can Microsoft make a comeback? Yes, we'll see. They cry all these studios what this ain't 19. This ain't 2015, where games came out every three years and new games are coming out. Let's see, maybe three years, the new games are coming out. If you had Uncharted 2, two years later you have Uncharted 3 coming out. If there's a war 2 will come out Two years later. You have Gears of War 3. Now game production is taking four to five years.

Speaker 2:

That's crazy, but that's true.

Speaker 1:

Rise and Roll how many years, like five years. Five years to make that game. I ordered that.

Speaker 2:

I think actually, graphically, you gotta think they come, you know, you know it's so funny because, as a lot of people know my story, it doesn't look as beautiful as Gozo Tsushima. No, it doesn't, because I'm playing it I'm like, damn, I expect this game to look way better. And remember, I got a 1080. So I'm like yo, this doesn't look as sharp as Gozo Tsushima. So I gotta get a bunch of credit on that one. I mean, it's still a good game, I like it, but it's not as sharp. No, it's good Even with that animation.

Speaker 1:

I'm like, oh Lord, sorry, it's like late placing the full graphics.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they could have done better on that one. No, I mean late.

Speaker 1:

I was late. Third party placing the full graphics. Yeah, they could have done better, graphically wise too. So we'll see you just gonna go on.

Speaker 2:

PC eventually.

Speaker 1:

So remember the PC, they'll get it right. I don't think so, Mr Mason. I don't think so. But, Mr Mason, I'm gonna piggyback off what you were saying. Jim Ryan, who recently retired. He was saying that, according to his documentation, Sony paperwork that the PS2 actually sold 160 million consoles.

Speaker 2:

It's not documented that way. Where's the proof? Where's?

Speaker 1:

the proof. The man runs the man. He's one of the heads of the company.

Speaker 2:

But why does all the statistical body of work?

Speaker 1:

none of them say that, but Mr Mace, the court is in Ryan. He said that, but Mr Mason quoted Jim Ryan. He said that they didn't get further information. Since then they didn't update information.

Speaker 2:

Well tell Jim Ryan if he bought $15 million just to get those numbers. It doesn't help the sales.

Speaker 1:

He bought $5 million. Pardon me, he tried to say Jim Ryan bought $5 million.

Speaker 2:

Hey, it doesn't help. Sorry, buddy, your numbers is what it says.

Speaker 1:

Wow, mr Mason. Sorry, Jim Ryan.

Speaker 2:

Nintendo will be there probably at the end of next year.

Speaker 1:

Well, let me ask you a question how do you feel about Jim Ryan's legacy at PlayStation? Well, I mean, it wasn't bad. It wasn't bad. I can't complain. It wasn't bad. I wouldn't say like I think with a lot, we see Big Phil talk a lot a lot of. Sarah Brown doesn't really talk that much. Willie Phil Spencer does most of the talking for Microsoft yeah, I think Ryan was okay. Yeah, so he didn't really speak much. He didn't have much of a personality than the previous previous CEOs of Playstation.

Speaker 2:

If anything, I have more beef with Phil I mean Phil Spencer. To be honest with you, Phil doesn't talk too much. Yeah, the fact that the man goes and says, yeah, I'll be playing my Nintendo and stuff, that's what I have no problem with him playing on the console, that's fine. But as the head honcho, if you're wearing Nikes, ain't nobody want to hear you talking about yo. I love my Adidas.

Speaker 1:

No, no more than that. And the second is the fact that I think heat with Nike Rebounds added the way you see them Exactly a second.

Speaker 2:

You know what I had a head of your god that could be talking about.

Speaker 1:

We lost the council war. You know what?

Speaker 2:

The guys do videos. You's a switch on his shelf. Come on, come on, man, come on. I'm sorry, man, but Phil, you can do better. You can do better.

Speaker 1:

I like him, though he can do better. I think he just talks too much. I he talks too much. That kind of like gives Xbox no identity. We're like what the hell are we doing with Xbox you? Don't know, like I said, now that Sarah Barnes was talking about I mean I know we're going off topic that has a preservation unit for packet compatibility. I'm like, were you guys doing that before?

Speaker 2:

the only backwards compatibility.

Speaker 1:

So what happened?

Speaker 2:

That's what I thought.

Speaker 1:

You already got rid of, allegedly, the department that do Physical media. Yeah, and you talk about Preserving Gains, but Hellblade, hellblade 2, when it comes out, won't be on this. Oh wow, I didn't even know that. So what are we?

Speaker 2:

doing here? What are we doing here Exactly? What are we doing here?

Speaker 1:

We don't know what you are.

Speaker 2:

We don't Help me, help me figure that out, help me.

Speaker 1:

Help us figure you what you are.

Speaker 2:

Please, exactly, please, all right, mike man.

Speaker 1:

All right, Mr Mason.

Speaker 2:

Yes, sir, what are we going to?

Speaker 1:

What's going to? Let's stick to Microsoft. Microsoft is working on AI. In a new report by Verge, microsoft spokesman confirmed a new AI-powered chatbot called the Xbox Support Virtual Agent. It's currently in a prototype phase right now. Okay, so this person will be animated and will be assisting people with the Xbox problems.

Speaker 2:

Mr Amazing I heard about that, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I don't know whether it be on the Xbox system or do you call them. On the? You connect with a computer. That's what I'm trying to figure out. Do you go to your Xbox system and get some help and you go to this section of the Xbox which is the app? Is it like that, Mr?

Speaker 2:

Amazing. I don't know. It wasn't clear. But I think logically it's easier to make it like a software that you download and assist you. That would make more sense because you could get it to all the users quicker that way.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I like to see how the animated person will look like some sexy girl.

Speaker 2:

They're going to be no sexy girl because there'll be controversy over that.

Speaker 1:

But, mr Amazing, my thing is that, look, ai is very funny, keep it. We go on phones or bank, we talk, we tell people what's your birthday. You gotta repeat it 15 times, even Sony. When you go to support service, it's a chat box. Yeah, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes you gotta repeat the same thing over. It's not too bad, but at the end of the day you still got to talk to the support service in person. I would love a real live person, that's true.

Speaker 2:

I mean, like you stated, this is going to be like a support.

Speaker 1:

I think it's a support app on your Xbox or something you call up on your computer.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's two things Right now. Obviously, I think down the line it's going to be doing way more, but for now it's going to be like a support your inquiries and it's supposed to be helping with refunds. Those are the two major factors that's going to be doing yeah but do you really need AI for that?

Speaker 1:

Nah? Not really, but they got it now this is where you take another human's job Pretty much. Let's just keep it 100.

Speaker 2:

Xbox need all the AI they need because they ain't making money.

Speaker 1:

They need all the AI they can get now. I mean according to Xbox spokesman. It said the prototype will make it easier and quicker for players to get help with support topics, like you said. Yeah, it will lose the natural language talk information for the existing Xbox support pages.

Speaker 2:

I think it's a good idea because I think this is just the beginning stage. I think it's a good idea because I think this is just the beginning stage. I think eventually it'll be like Siri on your phone. It's going to be like that, I think, eventually on the Xbox or whatever.

Speaker 1:

I have a preview of the PlayStation one. Playstation, it goes wild. Yeah, I know, I know I don't even access. If you mention PlayStation on YouTube, I'm playing with YouTubers and if PlayStation comes on, it picks up stuff for me.

Speaker 2:

That's normal. That's what Lexi does, that Google my Bixby with my phone. They all do that.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, it's just like I don't think we're there yet as far as AI.

Speaker 2:

It's the future.

Speaker 1:

It's an existing topic, so it's probably the main 10 topics. Yeah, probably the Xbox. How do I fix the red ring of death?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, stuff like that it might be helpful. I'm not knocking this one. I think this. They're on the right track, if anything, because AI is the new future, and then you got to get with times, mike Samson.

Speaker 1:

Pro Human. I'm Pro Human too.

Speaker 2:

I don't know. I see Detroit, I see Detroit, but Detroit let's do a question.

Speaker 1:

Okay, detroit, become Human. Yeah, did you free your robot? The robot when she asked can she be free?

Speaker 2:

Oh, I think I did. I remember some ago.

Speaker 1:

Let's do a question Do you free her because of guilt or because you wanted to, or you feel, or you feel like you be bad because you don't have to keep track of records? I did feel bad, actually, because you don't. Oh my god, I'm one of the people that keep track. I was, let me say, not compared to slavery. You're like damn, a slave owner.

Speaker 2:

I'm not going to let her go free am I owning this thing or is he a family member?

Speaker 1:

damn friend, because I be pro-human.

Speaker 2:

You got to protest and pro-human.

Speaker 1:

And same thing. My friend was playing the apes and I said, well, as soon as my apes start talking, I'm going to put him in the damn room and shoot him in the back of the head. I'm like oh hell.

Speaker 2:

No, you're good. It was good baby. I'm like what.

Speaker 1:

As soon as I cast that talk, I'm like oh, we got problems. We got problems Big time. You know what I'm saying, oh man.

Speaker 2:

To the back of the head.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, I'm sorry. I don't want animal lovers to come get me, but yo, like I said, your dog start talking problems yeah this ain't family guy oh Shoot, you got family guy, that dog got.

Speaker 2:

I know Women baby got a dog making a video of women Dating women. That is animation, it's cartoon.

Speaker 1:

You gotta let it, let it. Let it be the enemy. You know, cartoon, be cartoons. You know what I'm saying, mr Mason. Anything else you want to say about this? No, I'm done. Mr Mason, let's go to me and you playing. We play a lot of fighting games, oh cool. So we're talking about the top 10 franchises. Yeah, let's talk about the top 10, mr Amazing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, are you surprised? Of course, I knew number one was going to be Number one. You know who number one is, of course. So the top fighting games of franchises, number one of franchises. Number one, which is easy, because it's my favorite one.

Speaker 1:

No, it's not Franchise. Franchise yeah, we're talking about franchise Franchise.

Speaker 2:

Don't say Go ahead, let's see what you got, because from the list I got, it was the top fighting game. Franchise Number one was Street Fighter. No.

Speaker 1:

It was how much trouble.

Speaker 2:

you saw it said it had 26. I didn't go by sales, I went by popular opinion.

Speaker 1:

No we're going by sales, sales.

Speaker 2:

Oh, sorry, my list is different from yours Because, well, do you know what? We'll skim through both lists. So I did top franchise by like popularity, and Street Fighter was number one, with 26th variation of games released since 1987 when the game was introduced.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

That's how I did it. Let's go to your number one by sales. I'm going to get to Super Mario Bros and I'm going to get to my sales.

Speaker 1:

No, sorry, mr Mays, I thought so too, but Mortal Kombat passed it 80 million 80 million, very shocked by that. Super Smash Bros 71 million, 1 million and change.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, 71 million and change. Okay, alright, I see what you're saying Because, for example, my number two was Tekken, with 26 variations of the franchise since its release in 94. And what made Tekken popular was the impressive 3D animation, which is true. That's what about Tekken? What was your number two on that list?

Speaker 1:

Well, I'll tell you. Number two is Smash Brothers.

Speaker 2:

Oh, Smash Brothers.

Speaker 1:

Tekken made number three, a top selling franchise, at $55 million.

Speaker 2:

Okay, now my number three now comes into Mortal Kombat. With them, they have 25 variations of the game and they were what made them. My number three is who? It's Mortal Kombat on this list? I might? Okay, they have 25 variations of the game. Just, they have 25 variations of the game since the release and what made this game stand out was the Blood Gourd fatalities. Okay, number three on your list is, I told you, it's Tekken. It's Tekken, my bad. So Tekken was two on my list. So our top threes are almost the same. It varies as variations. Okay, now this is where it gets interesting. My number four is Super Smash Brothers, which is the numbers are small. Actually it has 5 variations of the game released since 94. But what makes this system, what makes this game stand out, is the characters. When you can use franchise characters of the Nintendo games, like you know, you can use Donkey Kong vs Mario. It was the first of its kind to do that. What's your number 4?

Speaker 1:

number 4 is Dragon Ball Fighting Games. Oh wow, 54 million.

Speaker 2:

Okay, which I didn't know, I didn't know that either. Okay, they make it on this list too, but they didn't crack top 10. Okay, now my number 5 is Soul Calibur with 12 variations of the game introduced in 95. What made this Soul Calibur with 12 variations of the game, introduced in 95. What made Soul Calibur a top franchise is because it was one of the first fighting games ever to have console exclusive characters. Who's your five?

Speaker 1:

Street Fighter.

Speaker 2:

Wow, that's low dude, but go ahead, man 51 million.

Speaker 1:

I think Street Fighter is number one. That's number six, the top selling 51 million. Wow, that's low dude, but go ahead, man. 51 million, I think Street Fighter's number one, one, two.

Speaker 2:

That's number six, the top selling, 51 million. Okay, my number six was Marvel vs Capcom, with only eight games in a variation, first introduced in 1996. And what made this cool was the fact that you could use Marvel and Capcom characters. It was a cross-franchise. That was not my number. Did you have a six or you didn't go that far?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I told you there was six Naruto.

Speaker 2:

Naruto okay, 20 million sold. Okay, my number seven was King of Fighters, with 21 variations of the game released in 94. And what made this franchise popular was the fast pace of a fighting game.

Speaker 1:

I have next in the top 10, which is number 9. Soul Cow was sold 50 million in the franchise.

Speaker 2:

Oh, wow, okay. And I'm at 8 now, with Dead or Alive, 13 versions of this game Released in 96. And what made Dead or Alive popular Was the counter attacks.

Speaker 1:

It's the first time we see counter attacks in a game and the last one I have, number 10, is Marvel vs Capcom franchise 10 million that dropped at 6 for me.

Speaker 2:

So then let me just finish my last two then. Then number 9 for me was Killer Instinct. Only 3 versions of this game ever, and what made this cool was obviously the automatic combos, where you can see a 100 hit combo in a few games. The first time you ever saw that, and last I only did. Top 10, there's more, but I'm stopping at 10, is with Samurai Showdown at number 10. Oh, and the interesting thing about this one was it was 20 variations of this game, which I didn't know was that many, to be honest with you. First drop in 93, and what made this franchise popular was the technical controls of this game, and so that was that. But I'm going to give notable mentions was Guilty Gear, fatal Fury, injustice, dragon Ball Z, like you said, bloody Roar, naruto and this one, virtua Fighters but you know Dead or Alive that I have.

Speaker 1:

I know you mentioned Dead or Alive. That sold just under 10 million 9.7 million copies. Virtua Fighters sold 5.5 million copies and Bloody Roar was also mentioned 1.4 million copies, which I Roar was also mentioned.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, 1.4 million copies, which I'm surprised, that's low, that's actually pretty low.

Speaker 1:

Boy, where have the King of Fighters?

Speaker 2:

I have King of Fighters.

Speaker 1:

But I don't for sales wise, I don't have it.

Speaker 2:

You don't have it. The King of Fighters was my number seven, because that's that's Game of Thrones in 94. Just 21 variations of that game. It's only variations of the game King of Fighters yes, 21 what's the other?

Speaker 1:

one another game, another fighting game. It's like several different King of Fighters games.

Speaker 2:

I think it's Fatal. Fury Guilty.

Speaker 1:

Gear Fatal.

Speaker 2:

Fury maybe.

Speaker 1:

Fatal Fury yeah, also a game.

Speaker 2:

I bought Jump Force oh Jump, force, oh Jump Force, oh 5 million copies. 5 million copies sold oh, ok, ok, man, it's crazy because I thought PlayStation All-Stars was going to make this list but, I'm very shocked. No, I didn't think that, michael, I'm freaking out.

Speaker 1:

I didn't think that.

Speaker 2:

I didn't think they were going to make that damn list hold on, let's look it up PlayStation All-Stars. Yeah, 20.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, PlayStation All-Star Battle Royale in sales. Let's look it up. Let's look and find it.

Speaker 2:

You can't find it, Michael. That's why they never made it part two.

Speaker 1:

No, I'm going to find it. It should be there. I can't find it right now. People.

Speaker 2:

Sony's been lying to us forever. With that game it's coming out with the system of drops it's going to release with it. Maybe we get news about that at the May convention.

Speaker 1:

Yo, that should be coming. You know what? That would be a great comeback.

Speaker 2:

Actually they're due. That game's been talked about forever. Ghost of.

Speaker 1:

Shima in there. Oh shoot, that's what I'm talking about. Ghost of Shima could be on there.

Speaker 2:

That would be kind of cool actually to have him in there.

Speaker 1:

That would be great. Let's see what happens.

Speaker 2:

It would be dope, I'm not going to lie Saifu in there.

Speaker 1:

I can't come up with a story.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I can't come up with a selfie? Yeah, because it's not worth mentioning. They're hiding their numbers To protect themselves, michael, that's why you can't find it. I guess we could find it later. We could always post it up On the link or something On Twitter. Excuse me X.

Speaker 1:

Okay, how many copies sold? A million. They sold more than a million copies. Okay, shabby, not too shabby, alright, will you do a part two no. A million. They sold more than a million copies. Okay, shabby.

Speaker 2:

Not too shabby, all right.

Speaker 1:

Will you do a part two?

Speaker 2:

No, Except Mike says to do a part two, it ain't no freaking Smash Brothers, sorry.

Speaker 1:

All right, mr Amazing, let's get off that topic. Okay, let's go to what, mr Amazing? Our trailer of the week.

Speaker 2:

All right, what's go to what? Mr Mays, our show of the week.

Speaker 1:

All right, what's that? Our show of the week? Yo bad boys, Ride or die.

Speaker 2:

Bad boys for life. Will Smith making a comeback. Is this going to be his comeback movie? Let's check it out, mr Mays, we are late my stomach, Mike. I need a ginger ale. Get a ginger ale and nothing else.

Speaker 1:

Are those dogs fresh? Put a man yesterday, give me one. Put some relish on that, motherfucker Open the register.

Speaker 2:

Stay right there, mm-mm. Is that Skittles on the counter, marcus? This ain't mine, mike. Yes, it is Shut the fuck up, marcus. Get Open the register. Stay right there, mm-mm. Is that Skittles on?

Speaker 1:

the counter, Marcus. This ain't mine, Mike. Yes, it is Shut the fuck up Marcus, get in the car.

Speaker 2:

He has a gun to my head. Want to deal with him or you want to deal with me? Sorry, sir, but I got to go.

Speaker 1:

Call 911.

Speaker 2:

Aren't you the police?

Speaker 1:

Hey, reggie, did you eat my snacks? No, sir, you ate my snacks, didn't you? You need to get a job. I'm a US Marine, sir. Well then, you need to deploy, dad. Look, we now have evidence that the late Captain Conrad.

Speaker 2:

Howard of Miami, pd, was working directly with drug cartels for years.

Speaker 1:

Captain Howard is being framed. Let's go.

Speaker 2:

What the hell he's texting us from the other side? No, he's not, Marcus.

Speaker 1:

If he's seeing this, I'm probably dead Fuck. Fuckers, fuck them all.

Speaker 2:

I don't know how high up this shit goes, but I don't trust anybody, you're my bad boy.

Speaker 1:

Snook, you're my name.

Speaker 2:

You should be careful. They're being set up detectives. We got two suspects, lowry and Burnett.

Speaker 1:

They're armed and dangerous In five, four three.

Speaker 2:

No, we can't wait for Louis. It's flammable, I ain't no terrifying too, Y'all are some terrible fucking fugitives. Ah, I need nasty money. Bad boy, I got this. What you doing, though, are y'all stealing our clothes Just because we black, we stealing your shit. What? Look at your shirt. Why don't you sing us a little Reba song, reba Sing your favorite. I'm a woman.

Speaker 1:

I'm a strong black woman. Strong, yeah, because she's not black. What you gonna do? What you gonna do, what you gonna?

Speaker 2:

That ain't no Reba song. It's from her mixtape what you gonna do when it come for you. Bad Boys.

Speaker 1:

Bad Boys? Why the doc Coming out this June? Mr Amazing, what do you think of the trailer? Are we going green, lighting your light, or red light this trailer.

Speaker 2:

I'm green lighting it for many reasons. I mean I like the Brad Boy franchise, where Smith needs a huge hit from since his debacle Tent up, tent up, slap To slap her across the world. Yes, so I think this is going to be the movie that he does rebound, and you know we're invested, so we got to see how the show ends. This is the last one, right, should be the last one, okay, yes, I think so. So, yeah, I definitely agree. Like this. Hands down, I agree like that.

Speaker 1:

It's not going to be an Oscar winning film. The captain is back, but he's dead, Allegedly. How do you know he's dead? He just recorded just in case he got killed. He's investigating the cartel that they probably didn't know about it. But you know he's investigating the cartel that they probably didn't know about it. But the bad boys are going to get revenge for the captain clear his name.

Speaker 2:

Okay, that's good, so I also green light.

Speaker 1:

This trailer, mr Amazing. Absolutely Come in this June. Check out Bad Boys.

Speaker 2:

Ride or Die Tip of the summer baby. These are the movies to start it off with.

Speaker 1:

They probably should lose the last trailer, the last title of the last movie Bad Boys for Life. Yeah, this is supposedly the end of the franchise. Yeah, all right, mr Amazing, let's go to our shoot. Recap topic of the week. All right, mr Amazing. Ps2, oh sorry. Psvr2 production has been paused, mr Amazing. According to reports, the production of PSVR2 has been paused, mr Amazing. According to reports, the production of PSVR 2 has been paused because Sony has surplus of stock that has not been sold. That's never a good thing.

Speaker 2:

That's never a good thing.

Speaker 1:

That could tell you how bad the PSVR sales are going, Mr Amazing.

Speaker 2:

That's never a good thing when you have to pause your production because sales are poor, so that's never a good thing. So that also means expect that Probably over 2 million.

Speaker 1:

I think that's over 2 million yeah.

Speaker 2:

So that also means expect a price cut soon, I think. I don't know. I think they might ship $50 from it.

Speaker 1:

That'd be good. That might help During the Christmas season. Did you see one? One commercial I didn't actually, even though YouTube, they didn't show the YouTube commercial.

Speaker 2:

I saw the portal Hands down. I saw that they marketed that very well.

Speaker 1:

I didn't see one thing. I seen commercials For the PlayStation Backbone.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I know that's crazy, me too actually Come on.

Speaker 1:

They still know there's no support for it. Exactly, there's no free games on PlayStation Plus for it. So, like we said in the last episode, they're all pushing to get the PlayStation VR 2 on PC and I think that's a great idea, that's a great idea. So I mean, the only thing that sucks is still wired. Yeah, you know what I'm saying, but they'll get it. They'll figure it out. Also, the DualSense you still gotta wire it to the PC to actually use it. Yeah, so we'll see from there.

Speaker 1:

Definitely, but my question to you should we care? A lot, a little, not at all.

Speaker 2:

I care a little bit because it's a little, not at all. I care a little bit because it's it's a train of fact. What train of fact? What are you talking? About there's a fact, because the poor cells domino effect. Domino effect, that's what I was looking for. It's a domino effect because the poor cells means Sony gotta figure it out. They might figure it out. They're gonna drop it on Microsoft now and I think, going to drop it on Microsoft now.

Speaker 2:

And I think we can drop it on Microsoft. They're going to be released for PC Excuse me for PC. Yeah, pardon me. So that helps on the sales. And on top of that I think it's not confirmed I do think the price is going to be lowered eventually.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's amazing. Overall, I think VR is a niche market.

Speaker 2:

That is true.

Speaker 1:

And remember when you see the VR world that's closed down after the pandemic.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's around the pandemic, so I think that also hurt VR sales.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, people interested in VR due to the pandemic.

Speaker 2:

The thing is, I know it closed down for a while, but prior to the pandemic it was doing very well.

Speaker 1:

It was doing very so it didn't bounce back. I went online and, look, see, I want to go there, but that closed. That closed down, and remember, connecticut is supposed to have a big VR station out there, so I don't know. I didn't follow to see that that's still going on, but I haven't heard any news about it. But, mr Mason, this is how I feel about it. I don't care all because Sony don't care all about it.

Speaker 2:

They didn't advertise it. That might be the best answer you can give. Actually they very pushed it that actually. You know what if I could change my answer? I agree with you. That's actually the right answer.

Speaker 1:

I don't care, all you know. I changed my answer. I don't care.

Speaker 2:

Why should I care?

Speaker 1:

Mr Amazing. Yeah, anything for the shout out of the week, mr Amazing, I actually have one, actually Go ahead.

Speaker 2:

Mr Amazing, it's sports related. Actually, my shout out of the week is going to go to South Carolina women's NCAA team, and not because they won which they did, which is very pardon me shout out to them because they won and shout out to them because they took out the best player in the country, Kaitlin Clark.

Speaker 1:

If five boys would be one, five good players would be one great player.

Speaker 2:

Exactly, but she's supposed to be the truth from what everyone says.

Speaker 1:

She's supposed to be the Steph Curry.

Speaker 2:

LeBron James, the franchise-tenning player from WNBA. We'll say more, steph Green. No no no, what I mean by that is I'm talking about impact, impact, impact. I'm talking about that. So, like that she's supposed to be it and I think she's going to be it, but why I'm giving the women's basketball?

Speaker 2:

child of the week is not because of the championship. One second Shout out to them for that, though it's years. Their numbers were better than the men's tournament, so that means more people are watching, which means hopefully women's basketball gets more attention, and their ticket sales for WNBA and stuff has been steadily going up at a tremendous rate For NDIF, who has no one picked their ticket sales will have to change.

Speaker 2:

But overall ticket sales in women's sports, basketball sports it has been going up, actually Even transitioning to WNBA as well. It's been going up. So it's good to see WNBA women's sports doing well. It was just women's months last month, so to continue it in April. We give them love for that. So I do want to give women's sports, especially women's WNBA, shout out. It's a win-win for them.

Speaker 1:

Let me ask you a question yeah, so if Kaitlyn Clark, yeah, the big superstar, yeah, do you think they will have 2K, nba 2K, will they make her the cover Absolutely dude this year, or probably if she has a hit season of rookie year, do you think 2K will make her the cover person, not share cover? We have five different covers. You're the cover person.

Speaker 2:

It is, but it's going to piss a lot of people off, because you know what it is, because I be watching reports and I had an old vet, wnp. But they be hating on you. It's crazy. They hate on this young lady man.

Speaker 1:

I'm like damn Y', damn y'all. So haters.

Speaker 2:

I thought it was men straight that be hating each other, but they be hating all I know yo I be like damn, you guys are feds.

Speaker 2:

But then we say they meant sports too, so I can't say we don't do it, so they be hating on her. So I do think she gets a coverage. There will be a lot of monstery, especially when you got what's? The chick from LSU beat them one year, but they didn't even know. They lost to them this year, though, and you also have current NBC like Asia. You know one of the best players in the goddamn country in the WNBA. You got people like her and many more that might look at it like whoa, why is she a cover face? But that comes with the territory of being one of the greatest, but if she comes out, bust ass does. Well, I can see it. 2026? She could be the face cover for the WWA. I can see that, and I think that is exactly what's going to happen, to be honest with you. So we'll see. And she got the exposure in the three-point contest right.

Speaker 1:

She might even participate in the three-point contest.

Speaker 2:

She did remember, against Steph Curry, the versus no, no, oh no, that was my my bad, you're right, yeah, my bad, my fault.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, my bad, I correct myself. Correct yourself, mr Amazing, my bad. All right everybody. It's the CEO. Anything else you want to say, mr Amazing? No, that's it man. All right, everybody. We have no Gangsta Wakes of the Week, hopefully next week, but with the Game of Traffic show we out Later. Peace, Thank you.
