Speaker 1:Everybody get up for Mr Amaze. On today's Gamer Traffic Show, we're going to talk about yo Sony flexing their muscles at Bungie. Mr Amazing, what do you think about that?
Speaker 2:Hey, you got to let them know. If the job's not done it's a takeover.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Like Jay-Z the takeover man, we're also going to talk about damn, mr Amazing Chick-fil, it's gonna start a streaming network it's probably gonna be just as my bad, as successful as the KFC console oh damn, shots fired, son. Shots fired, but we get to a show talk about Tangle Studios being saved, mr Amazing, by the owner of the pub, g Mr Crafton. Am I saying his name correct?
Speaker 2:I believe that's what it was, yeah cause I can't pronounce his name correctly.
Speaker 1:But yes, he came to save the day when Microsoft shut them down in May of this year. Mr Amazing, can you elaborate a little bit more on that? And Mr Mike said to take over.
Speaker 2:Oh, here we go, alright, then. So, as we know, back in May, june of this year, tango Studio was on the chopping blocks. Microsoft was going to shut it down. As you know, they were cleaning a house and you know you're not making a profit. You got to go. So, korean group, pppug they came through it's a Korean group and they acquired Tango Studios from Microsoft. And for those who know or don't know, I should say Tango Studio is home to popular game Hi-Fi Rush Studio, also games like Callisto Protocol, but let's talk about Hi-Fi Rush because that's the most successful game on there, which was one of Xbox's premier games, and actually it was the Xbox's best game of the year in regards to accolades. So, and one of the games that went to Playstation and one of the games that went to Playstation, and they went to Playstation as well too.
Speaker 1:So like you told me.
Speaker 2:You told me off air that I thought it did have a Nintendo Switch release, but it didn't no, it was in the making, the rumor was in the making, but with all the shutdown, it never happened. So now that it's purchased by Pug, we might see. Maybe they'll switch our part 2 on the Switch. We don't know what route they're going to go with yet. So this is good news and this is actually going to be one of their first Japanese studios purchase. But what we don't know in regards to this is the money, how much it cost what was the cost exactly?
Speaker 2:what was the cost exactly? So we did. None of that information was provided, and the details you know. Is Microsoft going to have any saying in any of this? Like none of that was discussed, so that's all a mystery. Yes, oh, that's right exactly. We don't know. Maybe later on down the line we'll find out, but as of now, tango Studios lives another day.
Speaker 1:I mean this is a surprising news because a lot of studios when it goes down, they close down. Yeah, yeah, they shut down son, they shut it down.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you don't get picked up and saved.
Speaker 1:but you know what I'm saying you, microsoft always shut down studios. They might send some employees to work for other studios.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you get that. That's what you mostly get.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but to get the whole title studio safe, yo give it up to them, man. Absolutely I really appreciate it. Probably got mortgage to pay yeah.
Speaker 2:If I'm working for that, I'm like wow, thank God.

But, mr Mason, we're going to step into the world of Sony PlayStation. Mr Mason, it's been heard in the news Bungie's been screwing up, spending millions of dollars on nothing. Oh, no, no, sorry, when the CEO of Bungie, he's not spending millions of dollars on nothing, he's buying a whole car collection, wow, laying off over 200 employees, laying off over 200 employees.
Speaker 1:Mr Amazing, can you put some more details?
Speaker 2:of this. Hey man, he wants to live that lavish life, he wants to be hot on Twitter. He think he's Jay Leno buying them cars like that. But unfortunately for him, word got back to Sony and Sony was like nah, we're putting an end to this. And guess what they did? They told Bungie that you are destined to only make two games, and that is Destiny and Marathon only, which is going to be featured eventually in the future. I got breaking news for Marathon.
Speaker 1:Oh, breaking news, go on, bring it on. Breaking news, mr Basin. Breaking news the director of Marathon has reportedly been fired due to inappropriate conduct.
Speaker 2:Oh wow, the game hasn't come out yet. Jeez Louise, I'm already hurting. Oh wow, that's bad.
Speaker 1:Bro, now inappropriate conduct. I don't know. What does that mean? What do you think?
Speaker 2:it means Someone's being touched. That's what that means.

Speaker 2:This is a bad look and this also, to me, signals reasons probably why Jim Ryan probably left Sony. I mean, all this is going down. Someone had to take the hit. I think that's why Jim Ryan was left, and then we had to two new CEOs to take over. Go ahead, yeah, to take over, but we'll see, we'll see. We'll see what Sony does. Now. Sony's taking over and leading the way now.
Speaker 1:But it's likely Herman Hertz will be taking over the studio monitoring for now. Oh cool, okay, I'm so nervous, I'm so nervous. So we'll see what happens and there will no longer be independent. Like those cars before, yeah. Like those parts before yeah, that's your regular Sony studio.
Speaker 2:I know. I mean, you got so much leeway to bring your idea, to bring your style, and then you screw it all up, and now mom and dad got to come and save you, which just sucks.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we gave you some freedom. Oh, you know what happened. You screwed up. Now I got to come rescue you. You charged that credit card bill up to $2,000, mom and dad got to come rescue.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's exactly what happened to this situation.
Speaker 1:And Bungie created great games.
Speaker 2:Yeah, the CEO still made millions of dollars for my car. Absolutely, that's the bread and butter.
Speaker 1:Bungie, I mean not Bungie, sorry, bungie's studio but they gave Destiny, destiny.
Speaker 2:yeah, bungie tools resource money.
Speaker 1:The CEO can buy all those cars.
Speaker 2:That's why he's buying them. I hope he saves his money now.
Speaker 1:And this was bad of Jim Ryan. Let's just keep 100.
Speaker 2:I think this is one of the reasons he had to step down.
Speaker 1:Like I said, I thought this was more Sega and we talked about this probably before. I don't know if I was skeptical about it, because I said well, jim Ryan knows better, they want to lose the Bungie equity to create more live service games. Yeah, yeah, I agree.
Speaker 2:But we'll see how that goes, Mike.
Speaker 1:Where it goes Down the drain. All the money they spent. This is a big $3.6 billion. It's not something that sneeze at.
Speaker 2:No, not at all, not at all. It was an investment, and one that's not pending off that sneeze at Mr. No, not at all, not at all. It was an investment and one that's not pending off of them at the moment.
Speaker 1:And others are going to pay the price, and it could be the consumers paying the price to make up their losses.
Speaker 2:Well, pug, if you're still buying purchase studios, you might have to come jump on this one, and according to some rumors, if Sony didn't come in, they might have crumbled. Wow, wow. Poor management Wow, that sucks. But Sony needs Destiny, so that's why they came in.
Speaker 1:Well, to say one more thing.

Speaker 1:It's alleged that the American director is getting fired for inappropriate conduct.
Speaker 2:Wow, this is breaking you, so we'll find out more.
Speaker 1:I don't want to get sued.

Speaker 1:But, Mr Mazin, let's go to our next topic. Mr Mazin, the PlayStation 5 sells all bananas, Mr Mazin.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes.
Speaker 1:The console sold over 61 units. Mr Mazin 61 million.
Speaker 2:Amazing 61 million.
Speaker 1:Oh, 61 million. Thank you for correcting me. Why did I say 61 units?
Speaker 2:I'll say if they did that, Sony's going to figure something out.
Speaker 1:Xbox will be happy.
Speaker 2:Of course.
Speaker 1:But yes, sony has sold over 61 million consoles in their lifespan. So, passing PlayStation 4,? I believe so, Mr Amazing, during this time cycle no.
Speaker 2:So, even though Sony's sales are well and above their year-to-year, it's actually down. And what I mean by that is PS4. I think it was Verge Tech Tech something, I'll get it for you. So PS4's Lifetime Sack at this exact same juncture of their release is actually higher than the PS5. But we can also associate that with a lot of factors that PS5 had to go through Pandemic, the shortage of the hardwares, the tech products, yup. So all that, I think, contributed. So it's not. And also I feel like PS4 at this point also had the Pro or the Slim already out at this point also, so that also contributed to stronger sales. But that said, I do think the PS5 is still doing extremely well, which it is. That's why 61, 2 million is not a shabby number.
Speaker 1:But how much more did PlayStation 4 sell at this time period?
Speaker 2:It was by 2 million more. That's all. That's what I'm saying, which is exactly what a pandemic and the onwards I would do to you. It was the chip shortage and the pandemic.
Speaker 1:It would have passed them.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so 2 million. That's exactly what that is. 2 million, is that? And also, remember the scalpel, the scaps. What was I asking in front of myself? Yeah, that hurt it too. So, yeah, all that factors in. But despite all that, ps5 is doing extremely well.
Speaker 1:All right, mr Mason, but those facts do the fact that PS5 is selling. Well, there's another price hike. Not for us in the USA, well, thank God, but in Japan, mr Amazing, put me on Yo does PS5 console the disc version it sell for $50 more.
Speaker 2:That's crazy. Original price is $500.

Speaker 2:Wow. And then, like I always say, what happened to hometown discounts?

Speaker 1:It was stated due to economic circumstances, that's affecting the pricing in Japan. Mr Amazing, those are over 62 million consoles.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:No, you got to raise prices and, like I said, you got to make that money back for Bungie screwing up.
Speaker 2:Well, you're right, that's how they're doing it Punishing the fans and alleged inflation. Well, yeah, but you know what? It's not here in America, so let's. Nah, I'm not gonna do it, because we have a lot of Japan fans, we have a lot of Japan listeners who probably say to my song that's messed up, I'm not listening to the show, no more. Nah, I support you guys and I think it sucks that the story's do that to you. Like I said, y'all should get the home count discount.
Speaker 1:So Mr man, is there anything else you got to say about this? Go ahead, you have anything else to say about this? Uh, nah, nah, I'll say this Losing this time period is cheaper.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:And losing it cuts the prices.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I said that in the beginning. Like usually, another one is out right now, like a Pro, a Slim or something is coming out, but it's cheaper though. Yeah, it's cheaper the current one. Yeah, because something's coming, something's coming, it's cheaper.
Speaker 1:And the Nintendo Switch. Damn, they haven't cut their prices.
Speaker 2:They don't have to because their price is fair. I think that's why they never cut it. No, they still cut their prices announced. You'll see that. I think that's what they're waiting for. It's officially announced.

Speaker 2:Xbox consoles have. They are because they got the new digital ones coming out soon this year right, If I'm mistaken.

Speaker 1:Maybe the S has dropped in prices. Especially in the used market you see a lot. The S was always on sale. Mr and Mrs May's favorite Xbox console and he never got.

Mr Mazin, this game will include, according to CBS and NFL, licensed roster, and it also includes the pixel art. That's like Technoball Nice. It also allows fans or players to create their own dynasty, manage their rosters, game strategy, as well as press conference and other team management.
Speaker 2:Dude, this game seems kind of hefty yeah it does, it does, yeah, so you get the likeness of the NFL and you got Super Brother and Pixel 4. And Pixel 4, yes, and Pixel 4, absolutely. Nah, the reason I'm pumped for this is because Chick-fil-A was never into the streaming world. They're a fast food running business, they're great at what they do and for them to jump into it, as is and we see a lot of people were more similar, way you know, were more when Amazon had that they were supposed to come when was had that failed?
Speaker 1:So Amazon Prime was still on.
Speaker 2:No, no, no, no. The gaming thing that they were going to do. Remember the gaming thing that they were going to do and it failed. Oh my God, I can't remember the name of it the games Amazon.

Failed For gaming For gaming. Yeah, they failed at that, and they have people who are involved in the industry.

Speaker 2:Which I'm surprised they failed. And look at Apple, for example, who for a while were rumored to be making a console and everybody think, oh, apple making a console. This could be a great idea, but even they were like I don't know.
Speaker 1:It's Chick-fil-A, people waiting lines for Chick-fil-A, then we sign up in bunches.
Speaker 2:You know what, if that sign up, I'll come on here and then I will Put an apology and everything Say I was damn wrong. But I just don't see it, man, and I think it's a bad idea. It's just like the KFC console that was supposed to be the next best thing. What happened to that, michael? I was still waiting for your report on what happened to that. That was your project. Speaker 1:It's all about getting you into the ecosystem.
Speaker 2:Yeah. But it's very which we went for HBO Max, mr Max no one knows what they're doing HBO, hbo Go, people are bleeding money, so it's so much. But let's see this room for you. Damn, mr Amazing, I didn't see anything personal about his family members. You're not calling your mama fat, whatever your son's crazy, no, but has he made fun of his coaching style? Yes. Has he used catchy phrases in reference to Dion and his coaching style? Yes. Is there a reason to ban him? I don't think so. But, mr Mason, is this a Wankster move, a gangster move?
Speaker 2:What do you think about this. That's a big time Wankster move. I mean, dude, you're in sports, you're in media, the guy's doing his job. This is what they're going to do. They're going to call you out, like it or not, when you're on top big, top dollars for stuff like that. So when a guy comes here and calls you out and your style of playing and so on, et cetera, you got to accept it's part of the territory.
