Speaker 1Give him a shout out on the Game of Traffic show, but begin today's show. Talk about the PlayStation Pro, mr Amazing, unbelievable. The Pro was revealed recently, mr Amazing, by Mark Cerny, the Grandmaster, the king of the PlayStation, architect, especially the 4 and the 5, and also the PS5 Pro. He discussed on September 10th what would be believed to be enhanced ray tracing, mr Mazin. Upgraded graphics that will boost up to 67% more compute power and 28% faster memory, mr Mazin. Also AI-driven upscaling, mr Mazin. And it also has a 2TB of storage, mr Mazin. But not only that, mr Mazin. The PS5 Pro will have backwards compatibility that can be applied to more than 8500 games.
Speaker 2So how far back are we talking about? Are we talking about up to PS1 games?

Speaker 2Yeah, yeah. So it's exciting news. I mean, it's my thing. Is that, how much of this unit are they going to sell? Does this? Is this going to be like the PlayStation 5 release, where it's hard to find? Like, what do we expect this time around? Is this gonna be like the PlayStation 5 release, where it's hard?
Speaker 1to find, like, what do we expect this time around? I mean, when it first comes out, it's gonna sell out. No, of course. And also Scout wasn't gonna evolve. That's what I'm talking about, that's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 2Are they gonna avoid repeating history cause the PlayStation 5 release was not a good that's. That's also due to the pandemic doesn't matter, it still was not a good throughout everybody, that was everybody X-Factor, x-box as well exactly. Once again, my thing is it was not. The way it was released was still not well, because it was the shortage. It wasn't like a month or two shortage, it was almost a half a year, kind of thing it went on about a year, but it's amazing, it's the pandemic Understood that Understood that, but they still, I think, pandemic or not, I think there was going to be a shortage regardless.

Speaker 2That's what I think, because the chip, the AMDs and all that stuff that was a shortage of and everything else going on the chip shortage. I think that all factored in, so I don't think it'll be the same thing this time around. Another thing we don't have have to worry about Ain't going to be a lot of people running by $700. Software, too. Hardware.

Speaker 2Yeah, but let's keep it real. Who is this catered to?
Speaker 1It's catered to people who don't have a PS4. I disagree with you. No dude who don't have a PS5 already. My woman interested in the best and they're going to pick it also. The PS people who have a PS5 might want to train and get something that's the audience, I think.
Speaker 2I think that's the audience that they're targeting, because they're like they don't.

Speaker 2I agree with you on that aspect that it some who does have a PS5 they're want to get one. This is for you, but that's limited. I think that's a very limited audience. I think overall, sony knows the audience we're targeting are current PS5 owners, because in their head they're like okay, we're going to make the $700. You know why? Because we're going to get those PS5 owners.
Speaker 1They're probably going to do a buyback, a trade-in, where you're going to GameStop, not Sony no, not a Sony GameStop of course Sony, maybe Sony might have something, we don't know, but I think it's going to be a GameStop.
Speaker 2I think you're going to end up paying $400. I think you're going to get about $300. Me personally, I think you're going to get about $300 for your current console and pay a difference of $400. Lucky you get $300.

Speaker 2Yeah, but remember, you're upgrading, so they're still making a profit. You're paying $400.

Speaker 2I guess it depends what model you have. I think maybe the digital one, yes, this one. I think you'll get the $300. I think they might do it that way, depending which model you're getting. You have to sell, because I don't think this is this. The pro is catered for your regular joe.
Speaker 1I don't think it's for them, but if you don't have one and you're placing it. If you place it through you got to say that but if you want one, say, let me get the best one, I have money to spare, I'll pay the extra $200 yes and you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1But the kicker is, if you want a disc drive, you have to buy the extra disc drive, which costs like $79, yes, and it's already sold out and most of the retailers are cloning Sony, so that could be an issue issue. The issue I have with people getting upset with the price, my thing, like I have to ask people all these great websites, youtubers, small, large, whatever, how much will you price it? Then tell us, because I like to know I'll tell you my price, what my price would be 650.
Speaker 2Buddy, six dollars. I gotta say crap here. Uh, I think it's not a hundred dollars. I hate to say this because I hate to go with the man. That's what I call people with money, the man. I think it's actually fair price and I hate to say that, but it's fair price.
Speaker 1But people think, oh my god, what are they doing, bro, you just don't have to buy it you don't because you're it doesn't.
Speaker 2It doesn't say a thing, as your regular PC5 no, you can still play your own stuff.
Speaker 1You can still play your own stuff. You play your own game. Most of them can post it allegedly better and people complain well, we can't see the difference. My thing is I can't. Whatever the big, small websites, whatever. Until we actually get these systems out, then you actually do the fair analysis. We're going by YouTube videos. I know Digital Foundry's done the best they can with it, but until they get their hands on it and actually get to analyze it, it's up in the air.
Speaker 2So it's fair to say you're okay with a $700 product point.
Speaker 1What are you going to do If they add a digital? People are going to sell it with a disk drive. Most people sell a digital.
Speaker 2So do you think? Think it would have been better if Sony said, okay, $700 with the disk drive. Can you just give them that kind of a break?
Speaker 1I still think it's over-trying for the disk drive, that's what I'm saying I think the disk drive should be like $50.
Speaker 2You're probably right, because you could probably find a regular disk drive with a basic computer for that price? Yeah, so.
Speaker 1I was like it's $50. I just think that you got the kid. You got okay, two terabytes, two terabytes, you get the cheapest one, $150. So add up all the PlayStations oh, you're already up $150. You got two terabyte, plus the extra technology, the power boost you got with it. Come on, what do you expect them to charge you?
Speaker 2$550? That's what I'm saying. Like I said, I'm actually in agreement with you. I'm okay with the price. I think the kicker is maybe you could have threw in the disk drive just as a courtesy, because the because and the reason I say that is no, no, but let me tell you the reason I say that. The reason I say that is that the game runs getting away from the disk drive, right. So it's something if they're getting away from that, that technology, that hardware.

Speaker 2Why make it such a high end? Not high end, but like why make it a disk drive of $70? Just throw it in there for the $700. I think I didn't see why they had to charge an additional $700. If you just threw that in there with it. I don't think it drives the cost that much. To be honest with you, they couldn't do that in there. That's just my take on that.

Speaker 2Mr Amazing, give him the yo yo, the hype ball you have to. I had to fact check. I thought Michael was lying to me. He said 30 years. I didn't believe him, yeah he didn't believe me.
Speaker 1Sony just announced a limited edition PS1 style, ps5 and PS5 Pro and also PS5, well, I guess PS5 Portal, you would say.
Speaker 2Yes, it looks nice. So from the photo I just saw just recently actually I literally just learned about this it's the gray classic design with the red Sony emblem. It's just that one, but it's going to be all across the board, like Michael just said on that. So you know, it looks nice. And I didn't realize that PlayStation's only turned 30 years since the original release of the Classic One, which would technically be in December because it was released in December of 94. But this is going to go on sale, I believe, in November, is it Mike? Can you fact check me on that one?
Speaker 1December. It comes out at the same time, I believe, the PlayStation Pro comes out.

Speaker 1The problem is the PS5 Pro bundle. I don't know if the PS5 bundle is the same. The PS5 bundle only has 12,300 units available, not in the United States.

And it's limited edition 12,000, 300 edition copies of it, that's $1,000. It's $1,000 starting. I think it might be more than that, to be honest with you, but it's definitely $1,000 starting.
