Speaker 1:I wrong. Call of Duty just keep on coming. We're also going to talk about the top downloaded game for PlayStation 5, Mr Amazing. The tips keep on coming, Yo. But we also are going to talk about our Trail of the Week. We'll let you know our Trail of the Week, but beginning today's show talking about Mr Amazing, Call of Duty.
Speaker 2:Call of Duty baby. Black Ops 6 is out in stores now and it launches to record sales. And now that it's launches to record sales, and now it doesn't launch to record sales, people saw Sony excuse me, not Sony, sony and Steam saw 60% jump in sales of their hardware consoles with the launching of the Black Ops 6. So Black Ops 6, everybody is Black Ops 6, everybody's getting paid.
Speaker 2:People thought, oh, with it being a game pass, that it wasn't going to be the same, it wasn't going to be that. But boy were we wrong. It was quite the opposite, because this game comes with a brand new engaging experience with the campaign and multiplayer, and the campaign's actually gotten good reviews. Oh see, it's just, it's crazy, because I wanted to play the campaign on my son's PlayStation, but yo, it was so big, that's the thing. I was like damn, I felt bad downloading it anyway because it's not my Sony. I was like, whatever, I'm still downloading it, it's yours. So I downloaded it on his Sony, so I'm going to play it this weekend on his, because I was like how you put this thing on my thing, but wow.
Speaker 1:Oh, he only got the multiplayer part.
Speaker 2:He didn't download the campaign, but I did it when he went downstairs. I just downloaded it on his Sony.
Speaker 1:He downloaded that.
Speaker 2:He knows that because he's mad. What you did that for? Whatever, he can delete it afterwards.
Speaker 1:I want to play the campaign part in the zombies.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, that looks fun too actually.
Speaker 1:The multiplayer I might play. If Tyler's online, Yo, I brought your team, then I'll play it.
Speaker 2:But I have no interest in playing it by myself. I'm going to get whipped. I'm way off.
Speaker 1:Unless I have a squad, I am not playing no Call of Duty by myself. So I get my butt whipped and badly, badly butt whipped.
Speaker 2:And very soon this week they have season one kicks off, so they're already jumping right into the hype of things. So that's pretty cool and a figure. I gotta give Call of Duty credit for this. The franchise has hit half a billion sales Currently. It hit it yeah, it hit it Half a billion sales, not Black Ops, but the franchise in general hits half a billion sales. That says a lot. That says a lot.
Speaker 1:According to the Washington Post, there's a 500 million figure, which was reached prior to Black Ops 6.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's not counting Black Ops 6. That's not even counting Black Ops 6. So it's way more than that. Now, michael, that's crazy. You don't see those kind of figures that easily. When it comes to gaming, that's a great milestone, unless you're talking about Grand Theft Auto baby.
Speaker 1:Oh, they're doing Grand.
Speaker 2:Theft Auto. You're right, there's only one other series that could probably do that, and that's Grand. Not probably it is doing that, it's Grand Theft Auto you're right.
Speaker 1:You know what I'm saying. That's the king baby. Yeah, definitely so. Like I said, I'm not the biggest Grand Theft Auto I mean Call of Duty fan, but the press is sales and most times I just play the campaign.
Speaker 2:Yeah, now I just play the campaign mode, Because I hop on one thing and play it and I'm dead in less than five seconds. So I'd rather watch other people play and enjoy their success.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, and according to a recent interview with BBC, miles Leslie, a 16-year veteran of the Call of Duty franchise for Treyarch, stated that Steam and PlayStation base sales of Black Ops 6 have been dozed on Modern Warfare 3 by 60%. Oh wow.
Speaker 2:That goes to show you the success of this game.
Speaker 1:It's a good game. I mean, it's one of the biggest franchises in the world.
Speaker 2:Yeah, of course, absolutely.
Speaker 1:I mean on an assistant basis. What do you think of the three, we'll say five biggest franchises of gaming?
Speaker 2:Franchises of just gaming. Gaming, oh, number one is Mario, not Franchises of just gaming. Gaming, oh, number one is Mario, not number one. But no particular order, but I'm going to, I'm going to go with Mario, because that's the one I always do.
Speaker 1:I think you got to say Mario, because it's the one that's long-standing you just said one of them, grand Theft Auto.
Speaker 2:Yes, call of Duty is definitely there. That's three. You got to put Madden in. That puts up numbers, man it just puts up numbers. Out of all sports games, I think Madden is the one. Fifa, you're right, fifa's there too.
Speaker 1:Now FIFA's there, you're right, so you have to five. I totally agree with all five of them.
Speaker 2:That's four. That's four, though we said yeah, because we took out, we took FIFA for Madden.
Speaker 1:And then oh, FIFA for Madden in there. You can throw Madden in there.
Speaker 2:I was trying to avoid going to two sports games.
Speaker 1:Sports games, I mean, let's say, let's give it another sports game, madden, what else?
Speaker 2:So we said, refresh my memory, we got Mario, call of Duty, grand Theft Auto, fifa and one more. Who are you giving that last slot to 4-0,? Fifa and one more. Who are you giving that last?
Speaker 1:slot to. I have things in my head I can't say it's evil. It is very popular.
Speaker 2:It's popular, but not.
Speaker 1:But not money-wise.
Speaker 2:Exactly, and that's the same reason why I can't say Uncharted, because it hasn't been enough for them, for me.
Speaker 1:There's enough Uncharted but, like I said, the legacy is not as long as the whole series and also the money, why I don't think they made that much money on the combine.
Speaker 2:I can say the same thing about this, given what I'm about to mention, but the numbers say that it's worth it. What, god of War? The money says it's worth it, though, come on.
Speaker 1:The money says it's worth it has a long longevity For the combined sales of God of War. God of War.
Speaker 2:It was the give of the decade, the God of War, the 2018 one, all right.
Speaker 1:So I mean we'll go with God of War. God of War, I think, God of War gets it.
Speaker 2:How about Halo? I think it got hurt.
Speaker 1:What happened to it recently?
Speaker 2:Last two years. Yeah, it hurt, especially last, this recent one. Heard it, so no, it would have been in the conversation, but it fell off, and just same thing. I can say the same thing about Gears of War.
Speaker 1:Gears of War I promise.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it had a lot of problems, but that took too much, it took too long to make coming between, and then one of them was just so. So, yeah, that's okay. So I'm content with the list I just gave.

Speaker 1:PlayStation Pro reviews are out. Mr Amazing, oh okay, some good, mostly some good and some okay.
Speaker 2:Oh, I can't even think of a PlayStation 7 bad review for that system.
Speaker 1:Go ahead, put them to me. Ign gave it a 7. I mean that's good, but that's low to me. Okay, we'll go to Engadget. Okay, they Slow to me. Okay, we'll go to Engadget. Okay. They stated PlayStation 5 Pro is a powerful console ever made, but you pay dearly for its performance. The PlayStation 4 clearly isn't meant for anyone who prioritizes value, unless I don't know, unless, of course, you are comparing it to a full-fledged gaming PC. If you want 4K like graphics with ray tracing and 60 frames per second, the PlayStation Pro is simply your best choice for under $1,000.
Speaker 2:That damn near worth near it though.
Speaker 1:GameRadar UK gave $80,000. $8,000 pretty much We'll say $8,000. Game Hub gave it $8,000. Game Radar gave it a $7,000. Ign let's see what they gave it a $7,000. At $700, it's not cheap, not at all. So you really have to decide the visual upgrade, knowing it doesn't transform the gameplay experience as a fundamental level and, to be fair, sony never said it wouldn't so as if the stand as it stands, the PlayStation Pro isn't essential. No freaking kidding IGN.
Speaker 2:They had to throw the one-two in there.
Speaker 1:It's one thing that people say, well, it's not necessary, Look it's a do what it's supposed to do it is. That's all that matters. You don't need to get one. That's what people say oh, you're not worth. If you got a PlayStation 5, get it. If you go for the PlayStation Pro and you want that, get it. Exactly, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2:Like for me, if I got a PlayStation Pro, to me it's like I got the PlayStation 8. Because I'm coming from a 1080, y'all, I'm coming from a 1080 TV to a Pro. It's a big deal for me.
Speaker 1:You just need a new TV, mr Maze, I know.
Speaker 2:I just need a new TV, you're right, but no real talk, though. I mean, like Mike said, man, if you got it, get it. You know, do you need it? No, but if you got it, get it.
Speaker 1:If you have the money you want it, get it, get it. Like I said, it's talking console release we could talk about. Yeah, so that's. I mean it keeps Sony's thing in the news. But also, mr A, the plus side of this it's the new one selling console on Amazon.

Speaker 2:I got a 360. Guess how much I got my 360 for? No one's going to believe this. $100. And this is the height of it. When it first came out, I got it for $100. Playstation you are. It was $100, right, I think it was $150. You were the extra $50. Well, guess what it was at the height.

Speaker 2:I think the only systems I paid full price for was my PS5 and, ladies and gentlemen, my Nintendo Not Switch, it's Switch 2, but the Wii. I think I said it'd be at full price.
Speaker 1:Did I give you guys a PlayStation 4? A PlayStation 4? The disc drive wasn't working, though.
Speaker 2:Maybe Tyler. Yeah, tyler got the disc drive, the PlayStation 4, I bought the Drake Collection one.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think I gave him that one and also the Xbox. Didn't they get the VCR Xbox?
Speaker 2:You might have. I have so many Xboxes at the house I'm like where'd they come from? I don't know where these systems come from. Did they buy this?

Speaker 1:The only thing is that if I had to do it over again regarding the PlayStation Pro console, PlayStation 5 console, just in general, I'll give it a bigger terror drive.
Speaker 2:Yeah, absolutely I agree, because I bought mine a year ago. It's probably filled up. Yeah, I bought mine a year ago and I'm like, damn, I don't play that many games. Like you know, I'm mostly here playing games with you. But I was like, nah, I need that too, because lately I've been buying a lot of games.
Speaker 1:Yeah, because you buy a lot of games. Let's say, if you bought the Call of Duty, then you bought Silent Hill, then you bought another game. Then they say the Wolf game. We call what's the game by SNK which one you talk about. City of Wolves. That comes out, oh yeah yeah, yeah, other characters, oh no, it's gonna fill up it fills up, I should've got 2K also yeah, cause I got, we got 4K we would save up the extra dollars no 5K, we still have 4TB, I mean 4TB.
Speaker 1:It's part of me yeah, um, yeah, yeah, because I got the one one terabyte extra. Yeah, I got that too. I wish I had got two terabytes me too.
Speaker 2:I definitely wish I did that. That's the most I did. I mean, we can still get it, but it's just like I gotta spend.
Speaker 1:I still have 100. I'm trying to think how do you switch? How do you gotta switch? Come on, you gotta switch it out, what you gonna do with the extra things it's or switched over to a standard drive, whatever.
Speaker 1:But, Mr Amazing, let's go to this. Mr Amazing, back to Sony. No, Spider-Man DLC, disappointment, disappointment. People were so, oh, begging for this, mr Amazing. They were Waiting. Anticipating Sony said hell, no, it's not happening. Mr Amazing, how do you feel about that? Yeah, anticipating Sony said hell, no, it's not happening. It's amazing. How do you feel about that? Yeah let's go deeper into that yeah, cause Sony.
Speaker 2:You know, insomniac had people. There was two narratives, there was two loose ends, pretty much a sequel or the rumored Venom spin-off. Is that what it was? Yeah, and we all got teased when they got. When Sony got hacked, yeah, where we saw some stuff, but they scrapped everything off.
Speaker 1:Even the multiplayer games. Even the yeah and they didn't notice until the video of that. I wasn't playing that multiplayer game, exactly.
Speaker 2:And for a $70 price point. A lot of people feel like it doesn't warrant that, because the game was even that long, if you know. If you know, I haven't played it yet, though actually, what Five man 2? Yeah, it's not that long of a game. People say, well, how long you want the game to be? I guess, like the last one, the first one, the first one was long. It was pretty decent. It was pretty long. No, I played the game.
Speaker 1:I played that game. I played over 20 hours in that game.
Speaker 2:No, it's definitely more than 20 hours. I was comparing your hours and my hours For both games I played over 20 hours, yeah, but the first one is way longer than the second one though I played both too, I think over 20 hours.
Speaker 1:I think I have to look, but I more stuff outside gigs with it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you know me, I like those side missions stuff.
Speaker 1:I thought Miles Riles was longer, but I didn't play like 13 hours.
Speaker 2:Miles was short. No, that was a short game. Yeah, I beat that game short too.
Speaker 1:I was satisfied with that game, because you can still do little side missions, stuff like that.
Speaker 2:But I've been fed up saying that Price Point doesn't satisfy it though.
Speaker 1:But everybody, I that's a good joke.
Speaker 2:But do you think Insomniac scrapped that because of the the leaks, the leaks and the reviews? People probably saw it Like oh no, that's not it. Or maybe they're still working on it and they just don't want to see.
Speaker 1:Look at that and of course it's the budget.
Speaker 2:You got other stuff to do at any time and then you know they won't do that.
Speaker 1:Venom game. Yeah, you know they're probably going to do that. So I mean it sucks Because the previous Spy I mean because the previous Spy had three DLCs, yeah, yeah, so they were probably anticipating that.
Speaker 2:And, who knows, maybe they might still do it, but they're trying to keep it on, hush-hush on, like last time.

That's including downloads for the US and Canada, but I won't go more into it it's not bad, though, man. You know, sony has a nice listing alright, mr Amazing, are you surprised by any of this?
Speaker 2:not at all. The top 3 is exactly what I thought it would be Black Ops, dragon Ball, sparkling and number three Undisputed.
Speaker 1:Sparkling.
Speaker 2:I'm tired Sparking zero. So it rounded up to what I expected, to be honest with you. So that's not bad, not a bad list. Sony's having a good month. I should say month, month and a half.
Speaker 1:I mean, like I said, we're going to top downloads.
Speaker 2:But these are all top end games. These are games that are selling very well, mr Amazing.
Speaker 1:Sad news Uh-oh, sony closed two studios. I heard you want to go into, mr Amazing.
Speaker 2:Sony Interactive Entertainment is shutting down Neon Koi and Firewalk Studio.
Speaker 1:The makers of Concord.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Concord is by Firewalk Studios.
Speaker 1:Yeah, everybody knows that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, everybody knows that, because that game lasted what? Two weeks after eight years.
Speaker 1:Two weeks.
Speaker 2:Two days, practically right, two years, it felt like two days. And then the other one, neocon. I cup of coffee the last long in the car. Neocon was developing an action mobile game. So pretty much Sony gave the whole strategic to business goals, the studio, business group, the speech talk. That's what we shouldn't do. Now, pretty much, you guys ain't doing nothing for us. Let's keep it real, sony.
Speaker 1:That's what it does, and it lost between $340 million investing in Firewalker Studios Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2:So then Sony went out to also say hey guys, I know we're closing two studios. What does that come with Layoffs? So this is going to affect 210 employees 172 from Firewalk and 38 from Neon. But Hoss.
Speaker 1:When they close the studio now, when the hell is the headquarters going to?
Speaker 2:do jobs. No, no, no. Hoss the CEO said no guys, don't worry, guess what? We're going to relocate a lot of these guys to other studios where possible. The key word is where possible.
Speaker 1:So out of those 210 people, probably like seven people are going to get a job in your house with you, yo, that's what it said, because usually some of the late officers they have openings at some of these studios. No, they do, they do. They often might offer somebody an opportunity.
Speaker 2:Of course you get first dibs. You're already in the door, so but pretty much at a 210, someone will get jobs. That's a good news. Sony is trying to relocate some of the workers, but it just sucks because it shows you underperformance comes with job loss.
Speaker 1:And that's just anything in life, especially with games that cost that much money they expect results.
Speaker 2:They expect results, man we looked at it.
Speaker 1:Many people looked at it like oh, a lot of people might say what do you call racial identity, whatever? Whoever they call it, now play the role. No, they play the role. This was not cool, the game it was not cool.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I agree, and the problem is they wanted to build a story off the characters do a little animated series.
