Welcome and Introduction
Speaker 1Let's do this. Welcome everybody to another episode of Game of Traffic Show. I'm your host, mike Sansom. Tune in to my co-host. Simply Amazing how you doing today. Everybody give it up for Mr Amazing. On today's Game of Traffic Show, mr Amazing, we're only going to talk about one thing, and you know what everybody's talking about for the past week, mr Amazing. We only go to one thing and you know what everybody's talking about for the past week, mr Amazing. What is it?
Speaker 2The release of the Nintendo Switch 2 and more.
Speaker 1Well, yes, mr Amazing, the godfather of modern gamers here representing, just recently had a showcase of what the Switch looks like, what the Switch accessory is. Man, the prices, the games, mr Amazing, let's start off the release date. Everybody knows by now, june 5th this year, mr Amazing. What is the price, mr Amazing? Tell us.
Speaker 2So we got two price points. Man, we got a bundle pack that includes the new Maricor World Tour. It's a world tour, right? The new Maricor World Tour is supposed to drop at a $500 price point Hefty for Nintendo, but understandable because it is a bundle. Then you got the pack without the Mario Kart, which is for $450.
Speaker 1Yes, this is the most expensive Nintendo console ever, mr Amazing. Actually, this is bypassing the current PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles right now. Is it? Yes, with the ones without the disc? How much are those $400. $400, right? Yes?
Speaker 2I didn't realize that. To be honest with you, that is up there.
Speaker 1Yes, mr Amazing, that's up there, Mr Amazing Mr. Amazing. And remember we, mr Mazin, that's up there, mr Mazin, mr Mazin. And remember we discussed the price point. I told you it was between $400 and $450. Yeah, we both, I think we both got the price point Well we were both fighting in different respects. I think I went $455. I went $455.
Speaker 2But you're right. You went a little lower.
Speaker 1I think you went $400.
Speaker 2I think it without the Maricar. You got it with the Maricar and the bundle. You know what I'm saying? The bundle and the excuse, and without the game.
Speaker 1yeah, so I think, plus let's look back. What eight years ago when, the original when it came out four years later, give or take. Yeah. So, mr Amazing, and Nintendo Treehouse gets to the posting on the chat part what are you saying? Yo, lower the price.
Speaker 2Lower the price, it's not happening it's not happening because Nintendo we want to call it a console. But it's not happening because Nintendo we want to call it a console. But it's also a handheld right. And then now you could start comparing to handhelds that are out now. The price of those Nintendo is is a bargain compared to your now handhelds in today's, compared to a Steam, compared to the um, oseg's Rally and our and several other ones and several other ones, and several other ones, and several other ones.
Speaker 1There's so many of them.
Speaker 2They all go from like $500 and up, depending on the space and somebody whatnot?
Speaker 1you got Like $700.
Speaker 2Yeah. So honestly, I know a lot of people don't like the price point. I'm not the biggest fan, because this is Nintendo. We expect them to be a little bit cheaper, but the market is what it is. It's asking for that price, it's geared to that. So I understand You're going to have to spend a little bit more to get what you want. Like Mike, you said a couple of times, you go if you can't afford it. It's ain't for you, you get it when you can. So unfortunately it's going to be one of those situations. Man, that's exactly what I said.
Speaker 1I don't think in that price point when it comes to systems and their pricing.
Speaker 1When PlayStation came out, Xbox came out, you said something like that oh no, it's not Like I said, it's not must-have systems right away, because everybody, you know, didn't get the system the first time when it comes out. I don't know about that. Playstation might have something to say about that. What Did you get yours the first day? I couldn't find one man. That's what I'm saying. You can't find one, can't find one, and let's keep 100. The last line of most of these games says they're not that great. Well, yeah, above most of the average. Well, yeah.
Speaker 2Most of the average. Well, I agree with that, mr Amazer.
Speaker 1My opinion is that is the Switch a must-have. Only seen like two games we're going to games later. That is a must-have If you want to play the Switch right away.
Speaker 2But that's all systems. But that's all systems though.
Speaker 1Which two? Can you remember any Xbox games you wanted to get for the Series X?
Speaker 2That one released that day.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was released that day. I know it was several years ago. You can't remember? Yeah, at least that day. I mean, I know it was several years ago you can't remember, I don't remember.
Speaker 2I just guess I wanted to get in the future for them, but not.
Speaker 1But how about PlayStation?
Speaker 2PlayStation had a nice little run. I remember when it first came out.
Speaker 1PlayStation had a nice little run.
Speaker 2Was Miles Morales? No Was.
Speaker 1Miles Morales.
Speaker 2Because I think that was one of them. I remember right yeah.
Speaker 1I think, because I think that was one of them, I remember right. Yeah, I think Miles Morales. Yeah, that was one, I think, with the launch window yeah. I know Demon's Souls was one of the games I wanted to get.
Speaker 2I got yeah, yeah, that was one. There's another one that came out. I just can't remember what it was. I don't think Miles Morales came out and launched Astro Bot was Astro Bot. That's who.
Speaker 1That's where I came, packed in the system.
Speaker 2Yeah, came packed in the system. You're right, but Princeton had a nice little launch, though I remember. When I say nice, it had something to keep you occupied. Comparable We'll say comparable, Comparable you're right, Comparable.
Speaker 1But, Mr Mason, since our president was living in nice-ass America, what has happened since Mr President decided to add tariffs to every country which is even countries which are family homelands, or St Vincent's well, I don't know what St Vincent's? Did, he got it too, man, he got it too man, I think you mentioned I also mentioned our island-only penguins. Yeah, they got it too, man.
Speaker 2They're like they just swim by their business. You know what I'm saying. So, unfortunately, first of all, let's say it's fluid because a couple of days ago they were the whole world practically was getting high tires. Now most countries have a 90 day pause outside of China, where they're having right now a trade war. So because of a trade war, tires are skyrocketing right now between the two countries. So because of this, nintendo fell back and decided that they're not going to release a pre-sale date for us, because it was supposed to be originally April 9th, Now we don't know when April 8th In the UK it was April 9th.
Speaker 1I thought here was April 9th. I thought here was April 9th. I thought it was the States. No, you could check, but I believe it's. We'll do a check that for you. It's April 8th, but it's already past the rate when this thing comes, when the podcast come on, it's already past.
Speaker 2yeah, it's.
Speaker 1April 8th and the UK was the 9th. Right now, people in the US North America or Canada. We're not getting it.
Speaker 2Yeah, so unfortunately, due to this global tariff, we don't know when. It's not that we're not going to get it, we just don't know when.
Speaker 1And we don't know the price, we don't know the price.
Speaker 2And that gets tricky because they were from. That's the key point. We don't know the.
Speaker 1But let's give my guess. My guess is it could go two ways for me and my thing is it could be 500, for the regular one, 550.
Speaker 2The basic pair.
Speaker 1Yeah, for the basic one and the bundle game no. 500 for the basic console, 550 for the bundle with Mario. Or even go higher 500 for the basic console and $600 for the Mario one. That's about.
Speaker 2The two price points that you just pictured are the two ones that I'm looking at as well too, so I think that's what we're going to be looking at, but I also know Nintendo's fair, so I can see where they try not to go that high. I don't think they'll take the hit for us, but maybe they might just go about $20, $30 more at the lowest.
Speaker 1What's the saying? I always say yo, the gaming companies are not gaming friends All right, they're not gaming.
Speaker 1They're buying a service. They're not your friends, I agree, you know what I'm saying. So they got to make sure they make profits. That not your friends, I agree, you know what I'm saying. So they gotta make sure to make profits. That's like how you got bills to pay. That's like you got kids to put in college. That's like you got car insurance to pay people in Nintendo. They got bills to pay and they gotta make sure they got a profit and they gotta they got the answer to the stockholders, which I'm one of them I have stocks in Nintendo.
Speaker 2I'm not going to front, I agree 100% with you. But I also know Nintendo have. One of their biggest markets is North America, which is us in Canada. We're their biggest consumers for them, so I also can see where they'd like guys. We already saw this at a high end point and for us to give it between $50,000 a price jump might be a bit much. So I can see where they try not to avoid that, or they just might delay it. They just might delay it until it's resolved.
Speaker 1They're not going to delay it. They said they're not going to delay it.
Speaker 2It's going to come out June 5th, so you think it's coming out.
Speaker 1June 5th regardless.
Speaker 2We'll see. We'll see because these things are not letting up from what we see. They're not letting up from what we see. They're not letting up. So we'll see. It's unfortunate that we're at this point, but it gets more exciting because this is the press and knowing everybody has an official release date, but us and pre-order dates. So let's talk about more positive things, about the PlayStation and the Nintendo.
Speaker 1Switch. The Switch, I mean, it's good. Well, we can talk positive During this show. It's not really all positive. I won't say negative, but it's a mixed bag of the messaging Not the messaging, but it's a mixed bag of how people feel about it, especially about the pricing for not only the Switch, also the games, mr Amazing.
Speaker 1So, before we go into the games what are the upgrades for the Nintendo Switch? Because currently the upgrades we see, like the storage, which is a lot bigger, it comes with 256 gigabytes, yeah, which can't be a Spine with a micro SD express card that goes up to one terabyte.
Speaker 2Can you tell us what the original Switch came out with? Switch 1 was a 32? The original Switch, but what was it before, was it?
Speaker 132? I think it was. I thought it was. We can look into that.
Speaker 2I think it's 30. I think you are correct. I thought it was. We can look into that.
Speaker 1I think it's 30. I think you are correct.
Speaker 2I thought it was 32, the original Switch. So this is a big jump, though based on what I'm, based on my assumption it is. So while I look at that, mike, tell us what else you know.
Speaker 1Oh, what else we know? Yeah, as you know, the screen. A lot of people are hoping for OLED screen. A lot of people are hoping for OLED screen, but it would have pushed the price up to probably $100 more. So basically you have a 1080p resolution with the screen. The screen is a lot larger than the previous Nintendo Switch, which is great to hear.
Speaker 2So wait, just to answer your question. I was correct. So the original Switch came with a 32 gigabyte of internal storage. The OLED came out with 64 gigabytes. So the original Switch came with a 32 gigabyte internal storage. The OLED came out with 64 gigabytes. So this is more than almost triple, more than triple actually. So this has a lot of memory, which is a good thing for us.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, it most definitely is a good thing for us. Yeah, I mean plus one terabyte express card you can use. Yes, exactly. So so let me see. But I mean I wonder how big these?
Speaker 2games are. I mean, these games are? That's my question, because remember this this generation.
Speaker 1A lot of these games are very big.
Speaker 2Yeah, and remember this runs on the FPS 120 when docked it, so all stuff like that adds to it too. So what are we looking at? Well, how big are these games going to be? I mean, how big can these games be? Because usually cartridge doesn't hold as much as this, from my understanding right.
Speaker 1It depends. It depends on the type of cartridge. They can't make a cartridge that can hold most games. Okay, you know what I'm saying and most likely they're probably going to have, according to reports. They'll probably have a download code with the cartridge. You'll fill out, especially the third-party games to download the rest of the game.
Speaker 2Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
Speaker 1But anybody who have the old micro SDs that they use for their current Switch will not work on the new Switch.
Speaker 22. Will not work. That's right. I did hear that, unfortunately, I did hear that.
Speaker 1As for Bag Life, Mr, Amazing anything you can give about the Bad Life for the Switch.
Speaker 2What was it? What would you provide to us?
Speaker 1Mr Amazing, why don't you provide it for us? I can do that, but I gotta go deep in my notes, your notes Also, I tend to say it depends on the game. So you get between two to six hours of Bad Life, which is almost similar to the previous. Well, the OG Switch.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1So it depends, Like I said, how many like what games you're playing, like let's say, we'll say 2K when the games are supposed to come out. That might take, you know, a certain amount of bad life on you. If they play Call of Duty, which might take a lot of bad life out of you, you know what I'm saying. Even Mario Kart will take a lot of bad life out of the Switch. This is when it's undocked. Everybody, you know. So when you're playing handheld mode, Okay, okay, not bad.
Speaker 2So what else do we know, mike? Man? I mean, obviously, what they touched on was you know, we know about the magnetic joy that we saw down on the teaser trailer they provided to us. We saw more of the mouse function.
Speaker 1We'll talk about that later. But if we talk about the specs, it also goes to deep learning, super sampling, so which provides upscale visual, improve the visual experience when you play these games, give it a more realistic feel to the games and try to keep apart. And with the PlayStation, we'll say 5 and Xbox Series X, but a lot of people compare it to a PS4.
Speaker 2Okay, that's not a bad thing, that's not a bad thing at all.
Speaker 1I'd rather be compared to PS4 Pro, to be honest, I guess but this is Nintendo.
Speaker 2They don't go for the big shiny man.
Speaker 1I mean, like I said, according to articles, according to what Nintendo said, the console processor was 4K game at 60 frames per second via HDR MI 2.0 in TV mode. Outside of that, it goes up to 1440 resolution and up to 120 frames per second.
Speaker 2But remember the 1440, it's when it's docketed, though you can't have that in handheld mode from my understanding.
Speaker 1Yeah, but the 60 frames, the 60 frames, okay, the 4K gaming 60 frames per second via HDMI 2.0 in TV mode and it goes up to 140,. Okay, 1440p, it's 4K, yeah, resolution, Up to 120 frames per second. It's the same thing as the place you said with the AK. I just got to see what the hell it is. I got to see it.
Speaker 2It's the same thing as the place you said with the AK. We'll see.
Speaker 1The AK was BS. Of course, it's probably one game that might run an AK. Like an indie game. You might be right about that actually, you know that can happen. So I mean like it's. I mean it's like a shape-and-hold duty, really powerful system for what you get. So I'm not surprised by it. I mean, a lot of people are disappointed that it's not OLED, but it'll cost a whole bunch of money, are disappointed that it's not OLED, but it'll cost a whole bunch of money.
Speaker 2OLED is coming. We are, the OLED is coming. That'll probably be the next two, two songs from now.
Speaker 1Give or take or a holiday season. But the good part, the good part about that is that you know they don't have OLED, but the LCD screen does support HDR.
Speaker 2Yes, I did see that as well. So. Does support HDR? Yes, I did see that as well, so and plus, gotta keep costs down.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, plus like. I mean, like I said, what else you got to say about that?
Speaker 2I mean I'm okay with that. To be honest with you, I'm okay with all that. So far, I'm fine with everything. You know. I love my Nintendo, but we're going to jump into what the things we're not I wasn't fine with, but we'll get there.
Speaker 1We'll get there. We'll get there. Oh, mr Amazing. Very funny dude. We'll get there, mr Amazing. Every further, go into further the specs. Is there anything else you want to say about the specs, mr Amazing?
Speaker 2I think you targeted everything I would like to say. To be honest with you regardless of specs the handheld mode.
Speaker 1it does provide what it needs to provide the handheld mode.
Speaker 2Which is true. It does provide the handheld mode. I mean, you're getting everything that the first Switch gave you, and more graphically-wise. Now it's just a matter of to me, to be honest with you, to complement the games. That's what I want to jump into. Man, can we get to the games? Man, can we get into the games? Okay?
Speaker 1I'm ready for the games, man. Go get to the games, man, let's get to the games.
Speaker 2So let's drop the games that we know. Obviously, mike, what games that we know?
Speaker 1You tell me, mr Amazing, just amazing, we got Mario Kart.
Speaker 2World. That's opening day. Do you like that, mario Kart? Excuse me, I said Mario World, mario Kart World. That's opening day. This game looks amazing, and what I like about this game is how extensive it is, how detailed it is, and even bigger is that you can have up to 24 people playing at once, which is crazy to me. I love that aspect about it. And what I like about it for all those who play Mario Kart is that if you own a Switch, you have to have to play Mario Kart, because it means it's impossible not to play Mario Kart.
Hardware Specs and Features
Speaker 2Owning a Switch Is that you know how you go to the next level. The game will automatically do it. You got to drive to the next level and each course now has multiple ways of playing that course. So I can do it one way, you can do it three or four ways, you can go off course and discover different ways. This game is going to be amazing, and one thing I got to add to it which I should that's my bad, because I'm so happy to get into games I forgot to mention is that imagine playing MadCore World now and chatting away with your friends to one of Nintendo's new features, which is called the chat. It's a little C button. The cool thing is, I think, it's free for the first year, and after that it's going to be a fee. I don't know if they disclosed what the fee is yet, though.
Speaker 1It's $49 with your online services. Okay, so here we go. So I don't know, is that one that you ticked off about? They gave you for your free one year. It's free for one year. Oh, come on, mr Mace, you gotta pay for that. But what's the?
Speaker 2difference. If you pay for it for PlayStation, you do the same thing with them too. Everybody else's service you gotta pay for. That makes it a thing you gotta pay for. You don't get mad about that.
Speaker 1So okay, if you're playing Fortnite, I can't chat with you Fortnite is free.
Speaker 2No, because it's free, yes, but you're paying for a service which is different. Same thing. You're playing for the PlayStation service Essential, whatever tier level that you got, Same thing with the Game Pass. You still pay for a service. You don't chat with me. Yeah, you can Call me on Discord if you want, go download Discord, here you go. You had a free service.
Speaker 1But this is the but. Basically it's the same thing, it's the same model.
Speaker 2Well, exactly, but it's just in the handheld where it's more. It's more More functionality, where you could cut out background sounds, push of a button. My whole thing is can I? I'm sure you can, I'm sure they probably touched that, maybe I just missed it. As a parental guy, can I control how I want my kids who they want to talk to, what they can talk to? That's something I know. I'm sure they'll tell them touchstone, but I gotta you know, experience that firsthand to see how that works. So that's one thing. I gotta go.
Speaker 2Maricor World was one of the games I was hype about. That's day one. Now the second game I know you're hype about this one, mike man, do you want to touch on that one? Go ahead, you go ahead, all right. So next game that we know for sure that's coming out, that looks amazing is Mr Donkey Kong Banzai, but that doesn't come out until about a month later. Donkey Kong Banzai, but that doesn't come out until about a month later. That one comes out on July 17th. You'll be pretty much smashing your way through things. It's, I guess, one of the latest Donkey Kongs in a while, actually, because I haven't played Donkey Kong in a while, it's just the one he had with. I forgot the name of that one. I forgot the name of that part of me for that. So that game looks good. Those are two to me dominant, prominent games for the Switch 2. Now there are others. Do you have anything you?
Speaker 1want to say before we continue Mike, you can say my thing is that Whoa, whoa, whoa. There are other games. Let's talk about the best game of all of them. Go ahead, nintendo 2 Welcome Tour for $10.
Speaker 2That's one thing I was disappointed by. That was what I was very disappointed by.
Speaker 1Basically, it's a game that explores the Nintendo Switch and tells the functionality and how to properly work your Nintendo Switch too, mr Amazing. Yeah, not as a packing thing that you should be getting for free. It should have been, but they want to charge you $10 for this. Yeah, is Nintendo dying or starving for money? No, they're not. So what the hell is this?
Speaker 2Yeah, when they pressed I forgot his name one of Nintendo's CEOs.
Speaker 1Bowser. This is before the John Bowser.
Speaker 2John Bowser. There you go, and this is before the official release. He said the reason that they charged $10 and they felt it was the right price point was because it's more than just a tutorial. It's more impactful with other things that that doesn't usually come in a tutorial. I'm not mad at that because this is what I was just going to buy, the two because, especially the price engagement and you purchase system, you should, this should be something that's a built-in free, a free pack that comes with the console. To be honest with you, so I'm not mad at that.
Speaker 1So I guess when I touch it, it's a good note, no matter what we say that again. No, I am mad at that. I agree with you.
Speaker 2It deserves that. It deserves that, but we'll see. We'll see what I mean.
Speaker 1What he said is official. It's more giving a tour of the Nintendo Switch. What's the functionality? Yes, to help out certain things it might ask, you might look back on it if you have certain questions about the Switch 2. If you have any situations that you can use as a guide for to get better understanding of the Switch 2. That is true and all the features it has. $10?. Come on, mr Amazing, stop it.
Speaker 2You're right. They're going to stop it. $10 is not going to make or break you Nintendo. That should have been free. I agree with you on that one. Actually, that's why it costs so much to come to.
Speaker 1Probably Get the hell out of there Also. Okay, split coming out soon Coming out for it.
Speaker 2Before you continue, because my apologies when we were on the Maricor, as much as I love the game, there's something we didn't like about it because we're talking about price. We didn't mention the price today. Do you want to give us the price?
Speaker 1We're going to talk about the price later. We're going to talk about the price later, let's talk about the price. Later let's focus on the games. Well, 27, that's all supposed to be coming out. Borderlands 4 was coming out with it. The Switch, mr Amazing. There's a couple of third-party games that are very interesting. That's coming out, yep. So.
Speaker 2Hades is coming out. Yes, I saw that as well. Hades 2. We got that. We got Street Fighter 6. That one I'm very curious to see how that look, because the last Street Fighter of this level I played on a Nintendo console. Honestly, I know there have been many, but the last one I think that was worth my time was the Street Fighter 2 and the Super Nintendo. So that's how far back I'm going. So this is. I'm very curious to see how Street Fighter 6 is going to look.
Speaker 1On this, Okay, metroid Prime Beyond. Yep. Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Mr Amazing, post-revealable this year We'll see what happens. Yep, kirby Air Riders Must have game. Gotta have that game, not for me, but for somebody who likes.
Speaker 2Kirby hey, one of your favorite games actually, Hitman. Hitman World of Assassination that's coming out as well.
Speaker 1I don't have a release date for that yet. I'm good. I got an Xbox. I'm good.
Speaker 2I'm not mad at that.
Speaker 1The surprise game, I think is the Dust, or Dust Bloods.
Speaker 2I think it was the other one that was a surprise game to me. My surprise game was Elden Ring. I think I'll see that on there.
Speaker 1To be honest with you, I got to see all these games run on Switch soon.
Speaker 2That's the one I was like whoa Elder is coming on the Switch. That's to me. That was my surprise game. To be honest with you.
Speaker 1Well, if I see Grand Theft Auto 6, come on, that would be a surprise. I'd be shocked. That would be a surprise. I'd be shocked. That would break the internet.
Speaker 2Well, no, what going to break the internet, if they get this right, was Project 007. Woo, give that one a shout out. Everybody knows how much I love 007 games, man, and if Project 007 lives to the hype this could be. This could make noise for me, man, that I look forward to no release date on that, but those are projects that are coming out. No pun intended.
Speaker 1Those are games that are coming out.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1So I mean there's several other games that are coming out NBA 2K Yep man, it hasn't been on it for years.
Speaker 2And NBA 2K.
Speaker 1That's been dropping as well.
Speaker 2WWE 2K as well, that's true. That's on there.
Speaker 1But I don't think WWE ever came out for the regular Switch.
Speaker 2Oh, I didn't know that I don't think WE ever came out for the regular Switch.
Speaker 1Oh, I didn't know that. I don't think it, I don't think you don't know.
Speaker 2Which is weird, because that could be a Switch. That could have been a Switch game. I don't think, so that could have.
Speaker 1I don't think so. Why not? I think it could have. Actually, I don't think so, don't think so.
Speaker 2So these are some of the games that we mentioned and we also with the games. Let's say, for example, you had the. You didn't get a chance to play some of the Zeldas that were released. Like me, I got them. I never got a chance to play through them. I could get them on a Switch 2 and upgrade it and add the upgrade pack I think it's additional $10, if I'm not mistaken and then I could get it with the upgraded better visual and get a chance to play it. You know, nice looking on a Switch 2 with better graphics, so that'll work for me. I mean, I'm only up for 10 bucks, I think. I believe that's what the cost is. So I'm not mad at that and I wouldn't mind spending that. So I guess it paid off for me not playing those games yet If you say so, mr Mason, yeah, I mean I get out of better frame right now.
Speaker 2Yeah, better frame.
Speaker 1I mean, like I said, if you Everybody does it, playstation does it. If you have the original game, you want to upgrade it to a $10 upgrade.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1So everybody does it. I'm not surprised with that. But, mr Mason, as you said earlier, go into the prices.
Speaker 2Yes, yes, yes, this is the part that hurts. So now, what's the official price of these games? I don't know, but I do know what the price of Mario Kart is going to be, and it ain't your typical Nintendo price, y'all. The digital version, from my understanding, is Mike. Go ahead and let them know.
Speaker 1For what game? Mario Kart $80. $80.
Speaker 2$80. That's for the digital version. No, no.
Speaker 1The physical version is $80 in the US.
Speaker 2Correct me if I'm wrong. I thought the digital version.
Speaker 1It's $90 in the UK.
Speaker 2Yeah, okay, hold on, I might be getting it wrong, you can correct me, because one thing Nintendo did that I hated and I'm using the word hate, and I don't use that word lightly here is that Nintendo never gave us price points. You had to go to third, you had to go to different shows to see what a price point was for the console and for other stuff. You had to go somewhere else to figure out the price point, which was really bad on Nintendo's end, and they got killed for that deservingly too. So the rumor I heard was digital version 80 bucks for mad cart, physical copy 90. Is that right or is that? Am I incorrect on that?
Speaker 1what I've read and saw. It was in the UK. It was 90.
Speaker 2UK was $90.
Speaker 1UK was $90.
Speaker 2Yeah, either, or that's just crazy. The game shouldn't be breaching that price point, because you're leaving an open-footed game like Grand Theft Auto to be $100 plus man, and that's going to happen, and that's. We talked about it, different outlets talked about it, it's happening, but anyway, we'll get there when we get there. So, regardless, $80 price point in the US for a Maricar is a hefty price to me, because how do you convince your mom and dad? For those who don't work, yay, mom.
Speaker 1Those who don't work. If he don't work, he shouldn't buy the place. I mean, I took a switch too.
Speaker 2No, I'm talking about, like you know, a kid for Christmas, a birthday they want. They want a Maricar too. 2. You gotta go tell your mom and dad can you ditch out this $80, well, $85, $88 to $85.
Speaker 1Most likely most likely they're going to probably buy the bundle, but that probably sell out real quick.
Speaker 2That's going to be hard to find. Most people are not getting the bundle. Keep it real, that's what makes sense.
Speaker 1but you're not going to find that though you're not going to find it, though, no, you said what you said, that most people are not going to try to get the bundle.
Speaker 2No, no, most people are not going to get the bundle because it's not going to be available?
Speaker 2yeah, but the other one will be, because obviously it's cheaper to get it with the game than in. It's cheaper to get the bundle. So you know I digress, so good luck with that one. So the 10 of the pricing I don't know if it's gonna be hot or the price of all the games. We don't know that yet. I don't know, because if it's maybe just their first party games, maybe that's gonna be the price. There haven't been too much clear answers on that yet, but we'll find out. We'll find out on that, though. So I mean why? What do you think, man? You want to say something?
Speaker 1no, I don't have anything to say about it. It's, it's Nintendo, and Nintendo know they could do that.
Speaker 2I don't know if they know they could do that, because Nintendo hasn't been talked about.
Speaker 1No, it's amazing, mr May. They know why Nintendo don't raise prices, because I know I can. That's why I don't agree with that. Let's stop the I don't agree with that.
Speaker 2I think they went to what the market is charging for, so they could make it $70.
Speaker 1Say again, they could make it $70.
Speaker 2They could make the system $70?. The games $70?.
Speaker 1Yeah, the games $70. Yeah, what game is $80? You said what's going? What game is $80?
Speaker 2I was thinking about consoles. You're talking about games right now, which is my fault. I guess you're right. It could have been $70. And the console price, but games are $70 now, like for the PlayStation 5.
Speaker 1Yeah, but we're talking Mario. Mario costs $80. You're going to buy it anyway, like you said they go buy it anyway, I think, I think when the Zelda gains $80. So my thing is Nintendo know they can get away with this price. They know they can't get away with this price.
Speaker 1They know that's why they're doing it because we can you might make a point and you're gonna, consumers are gonna eat it up, and when you're doing football, when the running back scores feed me, that's what they're doing so you do think the same thing would happen if it was $90 a year?
Speaker 2huh, you think that would've been. In case it was $90, I don't think it would've been honest with you. I don't think. I don't think $90 would've been able to go jump in and buy the game. That's a lot. That's $100. Put the taxes in there the game is $90.
Speaker 1Yeah, but the taxes For taxes $90. But $90 is about $100. It's $100 bucks and the problem with the problem with if you buy Nintendo games, what does Nintendo games prices go? They do not go down, they stay the same.
Speaker 2You're lucky, you get sales, mostly the first party games. They don't go down.
Speaker 1Yeah, they rarely. If you try to buy a used, you're saving $2. Yeah, $2. You're getting a brand new one $2. You might get lucky and save $5. Have I bought used Switch games? Yes, most of them have been third-party games. Yeah, that's been affordable, but the first-party games, hell. No. The Godfather game gave everybody who buys the system a kiss on the cheek. I know you're going to buy it, so don't complain.
Speaker 2You're going to buy it? Yeah, we are.
Speaker 1Well, we are. Let's stop it, let's stop it.
Speaker 2We are.
Speaker 1But we'll see. We'll see If the game was I mean, like I said, the game was $100, yes, I see the problem. I see a problem, yeah, I think a whole problem in the whole industry to gain $100. Canal Grand Theft I was like yo, Thanks, Nintendo, Sony's saying thanks, Everybody's saying thanks. But see, like Call of Duty could charge $100 and get away with it. Yeah, they would be able to actually.
Speaker 1We'll see. Hopefully we don't cross that bridge, though, man. And the only thing not to go off the topic Call of Duty. Get away. But Call of Duty could actually split the game up to can't pay 50 bucks and the multiplayer 50 bucks. They can't do that. They can't do that. And, like I said, people are happy, yo 2K's happy. They're like holy stanky Nintendo. And once you see all the sales for Mario Kart, that's what we see all the sales for Mario Kart.
Speaker 2That's why we made the sales.
Speaker 1Yo, you don't think. If Grand Theft Auto said the game was 80, that's being nice to say the game is 80. That's not. They're being nice, this is true. They're being nice, man, they probably. But let's see, let's see. The only thing is that if Grant the World did came out and it was a $100 game, you know I'd be hearing the news hard.
Speaker 2No of course It'd be all over. But let's see, let's see what the whole tariff thing that's going on, if this holds up, because I think that might that's also going to factor in, to be honest with you. So let's see, we'll find out.
Speaker 1Sorry, man, somebody's amazing. I mean the price. We did talk about the pricing, but as I said before, the chat, the chat thing, they charge you. So I mean.
Speaker 2But you get a year free of it though.
Speaker 1Yes, it was free to March 31st 2026.
Speaker 2Yeah, Well not really a year, a couple of months Close to a year no 2026. Yeah, almost a year. This is coming out in June, so not a full year.
Speaker 1Not a full year, mr Amazing. Close enough, though. So once you don't pay for that, you ain't getting that. Can you hear me? It's useless, can you?
Speaker 2hear me.
Speaker 1It's useless, but that I'm okay with you paying them. Like I said, every other service you got paid, so why not them? I'm okay with that. Actually, everybody's trying to get paid, mr.
Speaker 2Amazing, rightfully so.
Speaker 1Aren't we trying to get paid too? Yeah, but you're damn skippy. But, mr Amazing, let's go to controllers. Talk to me about the controllers.
Speaker 2Mr Amazing, you're the one telling Mr Joy-Con man yeah, so the Joy-Cons, the buttons are a little bit larger. We knew that already. Magnetic strips we knew that already.
Speaker 1Yes that's magnetic strips, yep, which is opposite of the plastic rails on the original Nintendo Switch. Yeah, so yeah, which use pins to Well. With the magnetic switch, it uses pins to communicate to the console.
Speaker 2Yeah, Only thing that they didn't address and I hope it's not a problem the biggest problem with the Joy-Cons was the drifting. They didn't address that. They didn't address that which I'm a little bit upset about, because that was a major problem with the Switch. So, hopefully with this one we don't have that problem. I would assume they learned from the error. But we'll find out, I guess.
Speaker 1But I was like, let me go further more, explain the Joy-Cons. The Joy-Cons will be magnetic strips which will communicate to the console that's in. If you want to remove it, you have this button you can press. So boom, it's out. So a lot of people worry about it's breaking and stuff like that. Hopefully it will prevent anything happening like that. It's not 100% guaranteed. Things break. So you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2Well, that's not a worry until it happens as long as it's not breaking day one.
Speaker 1Oh, we'll see. Mr Amazing also has a built-in opti-sensor with the Joy-Con, which makes it able to lose for gestures, which makes it able to use Mr Amazing, the mouse mode.
Speaker 2Yeah, so it has a mouse mode for those who like the features of the mouse. I know a lot of people like to play shooters on PC with the mouse. It makes it faster, easier to navigate, to get the shooting out For most people. They did feature a game that showed that. I forgot the name of it Civilization, I think it was called. Yeah, it looked pretty cool.
Speaker 2They did feature a game that showed that though I forgot the name of it Civilization, I think it was called. Yeah, did you get the name of the game that? It looked pretty cool. I'm not a mouse person, but I think you could do a lot with it. I think there's a lot to be done. We'll find out when we see more of it but I think it's a pretty cool feature. Me personally, I think it's a waste of time. I disagree with you. Go tell PC people how mouse is a waste of time. They'll laugh at us. Man, oh shoot, is a Nintendo Switch 2 a PC?
Speaker 1Try to be everything man?
Speaker 2No, it's not. It's trying to be everything.
Speaker 1And you try to be everything what You're the master of none.
Speaker 2Okay, we'll see.
Speaker 1I actually think this is going to be fun. Where are you going to? Why not you have it on a flat surface of a table or something On your gaming section in your house. You have that.
Speaker 2It's a gimmick that's not going to last long. Hey, hey. Every time the title's heard, we're gimmicking. How many times has the title's heard there is just a gimmick. And guess what, when the Rumble came out, it's a gimmick is still around, it's a joy cause it's the same thing.
Speaker 1Let's keep it 100. I disagree with 100%. Let's keep it 100. The rumble the rumble.
Speaker 2That's supposed to be a gimmick. Who cares? Who cares? Are you crazy? Who cares? That's a game changer? Oh, my god, you're playing. No, hold up. No, I 100%. Very few games. Lose the rumble? Very few games. Tell me the game. Tell me the game. I can tell you, michael, tell me which game. Almost 90% of games you play now are using features. I can't even.
Speaker 1I can't even this guy is my fan, this guy, the only game that uses that feature to the best of the ability is Astro Bot. Very few games Wrong. Very few games Wrong. Okay, when we play. Okay, let's keep it 100. Okay, it can be used when we play Madden. When somebody hits somebody, attack them real hard. Do you feel any vibrations?
Speaker 2Yes, with the hit stick. Let's talk about with the hit stick, it's a hit stick.
Speaker 1Yeah, hit the hit stick, you feel it. What are you talking about when you play wrestling the?
Speaker 2game is in the shake.
Speaker 1The game is oh, get out of here. 90% of games you play all have Rumble in it. That is not normal. You're 100% wrong. If it was gone, you would not miss it how y'all would, because you feel it every game you play.
Speaker 2Dude, if it's such a Hold on hold, on hold on hold on Let me ask you a question. If it's such a In the boxing game Hold on hold, on hold, on get in the box. Every game you mentioned. All had them in it and they mentioned question if it's what you're thinking, why did every console adapt it? Answer me that. Why did every console adapt it? It's a copy.
Speaker 1It's a copycat why is it still relevant?
Speaker 2to this day, because the rumble is one of the biggest and most important things in gaming. Now, yes, it is, it is, it is. And not only did the rumble become innovative, and I'll tell you, do you remember when the rumble came out, what game it was?
Speaker 1I don't remember Gando Star Fox.
Speaker 2I believe it was Star Fox that came out with the rumble.
Speaker 1Wait a minute, but what system it came out for the GameCube?
Speaker 2No, no, no, 64. I believe it was 64 to Star Fox. I believe it, and if I'm wrong, please correct me. Fan base If I'm wrong, please correct me. I can double check that too, though, but that was one of the first times we saw the rumble in the game, and that was a game changer, because what did the rumble later on develop to? People used the rumble, now what else did they do? Little voice changes. You know voices. Now the controllers.
Speaker 1That came on with it too. That started.
Speaker 2That opened the doors for that. That opened the doors You're going to say yeah, Because the rumble.
Speaker 1Now they have a speaker in a place in the game site. Get the hell out of here. It opened the doors for it.
Speaker 2Yes, it did. Nobody was thinking about putting stuff like that in the rumble. So now you get 4D graphics into certain games. On the controller, the only thing you can say Come on.
Speaker 1Even if someone's a half-back feedback, people barely use that implement in their games Half-back feedback too. That's not the thing. Yes, it took a step forward with that, but nobody uses that feature. Mr Mason, nobody's going to use this mouse feature. He can say dude, you are so wrong. It's getting used, but not Nobody's going. Oh my God, this is a game changer Made back in the day. See, that's the mind of it. It is still relevant.
Speaker 2When you're playing a shooter, forget shooters. Even when you're playing an adventure game, you get bored. The cinematic matches with the controller. You feel a little shake in the controller. Even for games like Resident Evil, the haptic feedback is a very important feature Rumble, whatever you want to call it. That's a very important feature.
Speaker 1Rumble has a few different things with the games Stop it.
Speaker 2Haptic feedback robots all the same crap, because they're all derived from Nintendo.
Speaker 1But the things that developers barely use.
Speaker 2They, you're wrong on that one man. I think it's one of the most important features of video games.
Speaker 1Oh my God, no, it's not no it's not.
Speaker 2To me it's internet, one of the biggest things in video gaming. When the internet dropped, and right underneath it is the rumble. Those are two top things when it comes to gaming, Because I think with those two things it makes the gameplay it takes to a different level.
Speaker 1Is it like voice chat?
Speaker 2No, it's just jumping to play online with your friends.
Speaker 1Game changing.
Speaker 2No, not voice chat. Connecting with friends online.
Speaker 1Those are two innovative things of gaming. But the thing is, you said connecting, yes, you're connecting, but you don't think voice chat is key?
Speaker 2No, because I don't talk to everybody I play with. I don't need to talk to that guy who's playing Madden, calling me an N-word or calling me stuff. I need to talk to him. But I like the fact that I can play other people.
Speaker 1So internet to me? Internet when we play, don't we talk to each other? That to each other? What the hell are you talking about?
Speaker 2Because you and I know each other, but I don't need to talk to you Yo. But, like I said, connecting, I think, is the important thing.
Speaker 1Internet, I go with internet. I disagree. If Fadoso like voice chat, I'm not mad at you.
Speaker 2You like to talk to people, play games.
Speaker 1Watch that five-year-old beat you and start cursing you. You're kicking your butt.
Speaker 2You still holding that grudge if I'm not kicking your butt, I'm okay when I talk to somebody, but I do like the fact that I can play somebody online. I love that. To me, those are two biggest features of gaming Normal feedback and internet. Those are my two biggest innovations. That's just me personally. Everybody has their own.
Speaker 1Yeah, Mr Mason, so they also have another controllers that are coming out with the system. It's amazing.
Speaker 2Go ahead.
Speaker 1Touch on that one the Pro Controller. The Switch 2 Pro Controller is coming out. What's the price of that going?
Speaker 2to be the first one was expensive. Yes, it'd be $79 for that one About the same thing, okay.
Speaker 1And it will also come with HD Rumble, the new C button for game and chat, audio jack and you also mappable back buttons, okay not bad.
Speaker 2It's kind of like the edge and the.
Speaker 1You know stuff like that too because I can't play with the Joy-Con, I'd rather play with the Pro Controller. Okay so, mr Maison. It also has a. I've already played with Pro Controller. Okay so, mr Amazing. It also has a GameCube controller coming out with it and it's also serving for certain oh, not serving. It also works with certain games on the Switch, but may use for the GameCube games oh okay, wait, mike, before you continue.
Speaker 2I just want to you know I was correct. I just want to drop a little bit of this. So the Robo came out in 1997. Oh Jesus, the Robo. Yeah, the Robo Pack. It was released in 1997. I was right, and the first game utilized it was Star Fox 64. So I just want to make sure I was right. I'm going to continue.
Speaker 1Oh, let's applaud you, thank you, let's applaud you, thank you. Oh, whoopie too, Thank you, thank you. Whoopie too, thank you, thank you. A feature that barely any body developer uses, thank you, just throw it in there. Oh, just throw this in there. Oh, get out of here, mr Amazing. Get out of here, mr Amazing. You want to touch on backwards compatibility. According to Nintendo, 95% of Nintendo's first-party games will be compatible with Nintendo's Switch 2 console.
Speaker 1Which is a great thing, actually and only 20% of partner games of other developers run smoothly on Nintendo Switch 2, as of now, as expected, yeah, and the cool thing about some of the backwards compatible games is you can play them online.
Speaker 2So as of now, as expected, yeah, and the cool thing about some of the battle-compatible games is you can play them online. So that's going to be cool actually.
Speaker 1So we'll see how that works. If it sucks until you get the bugs out, there's a problem. Mr Maze, I agree with that If you got third-party games, you try to play. What the bleep is going on. Mr Maze, you want to touch on that. Also, another accessory the cameras. You want to touch on that.
Speaker 2I saw that. Yeah, so it's separate, right. So a little separate thing. Hey, don't come with it, no, no, it's like a little thing that gets you connected through a USB port or something where you can add an external camera and you can play it and watch your friends. Not for me, I'm not into that, but it's a pretty cool feature, especially for those who want to connect with their friends. They can be in the same room with them and, as you saw for Mario Kart, you can put your face in the game.
Speaker 2You can actually put your body in the game and flag Mario Party where you're one of the avatars in the game, or characters, or whatever you want to say. It's cool in that aspect, not sure. Do you know the price on that? I didn't get it. I think it's $49. I think okay, $49. I guess that's about right. I mean, that's a decent price so you can put yourself in the game and use the camera feature. And I'm pretty sure there will be different settings where you can definitely control your kids and who can use it, who can see them.
Speaker 1So not a bad feature for Nintendo, yeah the Joy-Cons cost more than the Pro Controllers $89.
Speaker 2Damn, that's expensive. That's about right, but the Joy-Cons are expensive, regardless on this generation of Switch.
Speaker 1Look it supposed to be two controllers at Joy-Con but, I, think it's the same thing. The controller is larger than the previous Switch. I can't play with those for a long period of time. Yeah, it does hurt your hand. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2We'll see. I mean, the LCD is much larger. So that goes. What do you mean? Lcd is much larger? What do you mean the screen? The screen and the handheld mode.
Speaker 1That has nothing to do with my hands cramping up. No, no, no.
Speaker 2I'm just saying, since being in the LCD is more doing the controller and making it more comfortable.
Speaker 1I look at it more like when you dock the game.
Speaker 2Oh, you talk about that in TV mode.
Speaker 1Yeah, when you're playing handheld, it's expected to be playing like that. Yeah, we try and play some games on docked. I don't see it'd be on Docked. Yeah, I know it's hard to play 2K for a long period of time, even Mario Kart for a long period of time. I find it hard as a grown adult.
Speaker 2Yeah, for games like that, I think I prefer the Game Pro controller. What do you call it? The Pro? I prefer that.
Final Impressions and Ratings
Speaker 1All right, Mr Mazin.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Anything else you want to say about this?
Speaker 2I want an opinion on something when you want to, I'll be done to run and go through all the specs, pricing and our likes and dislikes go ahead.
Speaker 1What's your dislikes and likes?
Speaker 2well, more. Yeah, that's what I was going to ask you is what do you give? What do you rate this, what do you rate this, and is this a day one for you?
Speaker 1yeah, I mean I do you rate this, and is this a day one for you? Yeah, I mean I'm hesitating, I don't think it's a day one.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1We'll probably get it, but is it a day one? It's like two games I find excited about Okay. What do you give it, though, Out of 10?
Speaker 2We have to play it to be honest, Yo give me what you saw. What do you?
Speaker 1give it, though, out of 10?. We have to play it, to be honest.
Speaker 2Yo give me what you saw, what do?
Speaker 1you give it what I, without playing it To be honest, it's food.
Speaker 2You can change your pendulator after you play it, because it can go higher. After you play it, it can go lower.
Speaker 1Honestly, I have to touch it first. I hate doing that stuff. Boo yeah, all you want. I'm not Mr Nintendo, you are Mr Nintendo.
Speaker 2It doesn't matter, you can give us more. I give score to prices without playing them. Listen, I'll do this.
Speaker 1What do I think? Okay, my thing is like what I think. What I think is the price is what I thought it would be. I thought the $80 games is ridiculous. I think Nintendo Get to the B.
Speaker 2What do you give it overall? I'm giving my opinion we spoke about. I want to describe it with 10,. Michael, can I talk? Can I talk for a minute, mr Basie Go?
Speaker 1ahead. Before I'm rudely interrupted, go ahead. Yes, I think the system is priced for a derby price before the tariffs is now for a Darby price before the tariffs has now interrupted the pricing, especially in the USA. So basically, I think the Joy-Cons bigger is better. The Pro Controller cool. The camera thing, interesting Voice chat. It's like paying for online service. I'm not surprised about it. So I know people are getting upset about it, but we pay that for the Xbox and the PlayStation as well. I don't know, I thought it was coming free games, but I know you mentioned the GameCube games that you actually like are going to be on there Wizard of the Soul, calibur and other GameCube games, sunshine, sunshine and very other Nintendo games for the GameCube. So I mean, if I overrate what I saw, I think I give it a solid 8.5.
Speaker 2Okay, you give it a solid 8.5.
Speaker 1I mean, yeah, that's a very good score for someone that doesn't seem too thrilled about it.
Speaker 2Actually, what did he jump through the roof? No, I think you're giving it too big of a high actually. No.
Speaker 1I think it's 80 to 50.
Speaker 2That's a very high score.
Speaker 1If I was like I said, once we get it, the two games I had pumped up is Mario Kart, but let me Mario Kart and Donkey Kong, but they were like four or five weeks apart and the thing what I'm saying is let's keep 100. You're playing Mario Kart. You're buying like you have a family. You're buying two. You're buying what? Another? Joy-con, a Pro Controller, basically. If you don't, especially if you don't get the Mario game with the bundle, so you're probably spending $700,000. Change Understood that? So I mean, like I said, I just look at it. As for the showcase and what I saw 8.5.
Speaker 2That's a very high score. I didn't expect that from you, Well you know what I'm saying. I'm a different breed. Well, unlike you, I'm giving it a 7. I'm going lower, guys. I'm going lower because the Switch looks too much like the Switch. 2. It looks too much like the Switch. I expect a little bit different hardware, every hardware and upgrade system.
Speaker 1But what did she want to look like, Mr Amazing?
Speaker 2I wanted to look more modern. I look like the exact same thing, to be honest with you, with a little bit bigger controller. I wanted to be a little bit more modern. It didn't look as modern as I thought. Aesthetically it was not appeasing to me. It looks like a bigger kickstand, a bigger little button. The screen got a little bigger. These are all things you could have done in the prime when you dropped the OLED to me.
Speaker 2So nothing to me aesthetically made me go whoa, this thing jumped off the roof for me. That's just my opinion Aesthetically, you know that's just me. Aesthetically, now we get into the games. You know that's just me. Aesthetically, now we get into the games. Like you, I didn't see enough games to make me jump off the roof, but I saw enough to get me excited about what's coming in the future. So I'm okay with that. The features about the chat I think that's pretty cool. I thought they needed like their version of Discord. I do appreciate that. I wish I saw more of like a, a first-person game, that Like a new game that we've never seen before. I need to see something like that, like, for example. What I mean by that is I need to see a game like a Uncharted Nintendo version of a game like that. Something like that, to me, is what.
Speaker 1But wouldn't Blood Dust?
Speaker 2Yeah, you can say that. What is the multiplayer?
Speaker 1game.
Speaker 2Yeah, but I need to see something like that for me to be like yeah, wow, it sounds like it's going in a different direction, but don't have those type of games like Elder Ring and Blood Dust.
Speaker 1I'm checking the top. I'm trying to remember the title top of my head Elden Ring games, those type of games, hitman, those type of games on the system those are cool to see.
Speaker 2On there is it showing?
Speaker 2more of a dope those, yeah, and I think those are cool to see on there that's going to be, and those are definitely going to be cool to see on that, and that's why I'm still sticking out a 7, because I'm talking about aesthetically. I'm not singling out one's ass, I'm just talking about overall, everything, overall, I give it a seven, which is still a high score, and this is fluid. This could change when the system comes back. I'm like yo, I was wrong, I'm jumping this to a nine, but right now, eight and a half. You want me eight and a half? I'm going to go with seven. And you know I love my Nintendo and and the fact that you paid for a tutorial for $10 also turned me off. So that's why the price point dropped and the fact that Nintendo did not mention their pricing and all that stuff, I had to go to third parties to figure out what a price point on.
Pricing Concerns and Industry Impact
Speaker 2So you lost a lot of points for me because of that little stuff like that. So that's why you're at a 7. But hey, june comes, I play it. I see other features that I like. That could become a 9 or 10 for now, but right now you guys are at a 7 with me until we see more. But that's still the highest score in my book, though. That's why I was surprised that you gave it an 8.5. To be honest with you, you were down on a lot of things. I was surprised.
Speaker 1I wasn't down, like I said, it was just I'm overly excited. I saw what I saw and I gave my honest opinion. What I saw, do I think it's a day, one purchase? It's only two games I saw, but there's two games I saw that I wanted on launch day. But that's typical when most systems are launched. It may be like two or three games. They're actually interested and probably with, we'll say, launch window, six months. You'll probably see games later on you might be interested in. And, like I said, it's interesting for me because the Nintendo Switch. I like this system. It was my favorite system, a lot better than the Nintendo Wii U. But the Nintendo Switch is a very good system and it sold what? 150 million plus, which it won't break the PlayStation 2 record. We don't know that yet.
Speaker 2We won't break it. We don't know that yet.
Speaker 1We won't break it.
Speaker 2Because, especially without being able to get those other systems Switch 2, that system's still going to be selling. We don't know that yet, but Mr Amazing.
Speaker 1Yes, before we end the show, you think we should care About what that? The tennis course is coming out.
Speaker 2I'm just joking about that, of course that's not even a question.
Speaker 1Let me get serious. Do you think we should care about the pricing of the system and the game, absolutely, absolutely the pricing. Like I said, it's going to set a precedent for Rockstar and other first-party games, for, whether it's PlayStation or Xbox, they're freaking. This is a first-party game and it's a premium game and you just pay $80 to $90 for it. Yeah, and will this lead to a video game crash in the coming years?
Speaker 2Okay, so just a couple parts. So the pricing is very, very important, not just because of the games, because of what's going on in the world right now. So I think the pricing it's very important, to be honest with you. So, yeah, I think pricing is important, from the price of the console to the price of the games and what this can lead to. So, to answer your question, can, to answer your question, can this lead to a video game crash?
Speaker 2Do you think I care? I don't think so. I don't think so, because as long as demand is there, people are going to consume it. It's just how it is. Even at that $80.9 price that we hate, people are still going to buy it because that's their favorite games. I mean, if the game went to like $120, then I would be like yeah, mike and Green Game crashed. But I think, putting up an extra $10, nintendo could do it in a strategic way and be like well, you know, mario doesn't come out every 10, 12 years. Whatever, it is Not 10, 12 years, boy, it'll come out every few years.
Speaker 1So the extra thing Mario Kart sold, like over the last one sold, I think, over 65 million or 75 million copies.
Speaker 2Exactly so. That's their whole thing is like we're going to have a game. This old AmeriCorps can last almost 10 years and people play it continuously, so we can get away with that price point, and I think they can actually. What did I say?
Speaker 1They can, they can. They pay the price because they can they can, and I agree with you there.
Speaker 2So I don't think the price point is okay. But you can't do it for every game, so don't think you can make your little. How much is Elden Ring going to cost? Not much, because it's not new. It's not a new game. It's not going to be that much. I don't think it's going to be that much.
Speaker 1Yeah, you got to go with 70.
Speaker 2No, I think it's going to be 60. Go 70.
Speaker 1No no.
Speaker 2You know you're right, but it's not a brand new game, brand new game to switch. To switch it, it's going to be 60. And if it's more than 60, I'll be shocked. But if it went to 70, I understand, but I think it's going to be a 60. I understand, I understand.
Speaker 1It's going to be 60. It's going to be 70, due to the amount of content. So I think gamers has always complained about what. Are gamers always complaining about the hours.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1You know what I'm saying. How come I'm paying $70 for a game that's only 10 hours? You know what I'm saying? And I'm paying and I can buy this other game, and some game company's saying, well, why don't I charge you 70 bucks, why don't I give you 80 hours of content? It should be more.
Speaker 2Agreed.
Speaker 1It's going to be a conjunction. What's going to happen?
Speaker 2as you're a quagmire, I agree, I understand that too.
Speaker 1I'm going to wrap it up. This time, people, we don't have a game, no trail of the week, no shout of the week. But yo hit us up. Let us know what you think of Nintendo Switch.
Speaker 2I don't want to give a shout out, man, let's give a quick shout out.
Speaker 1We can't give a shout out. We can't give no shout-out. We can't give a quick shout-out. We can't give a shout-out. We can't give a shout-out every show.
Speaker 2We can't give a shout-out at the Sony show, the Xbox show. Why can't we give a shout-out here? What shout-out are we giving down, Mr Mason? It's an easy one. It's an easy one. Shout-out to the.
Speaker 1Florida for winning the championship team. That was easy. I'm really going to do that. I'll say look at that Carmelo Anthony. Tell everybody who's Carmelo Anthony first.
Speaker 2Hey, he was an NBA player, basketball retired, played on several teams. But his glorious days. Some will say Denver, but I'm going to say New York. There we go.
Speaker 1Keep it simple. I will say New York and the Nuggets, yeah, a little bit New Yorker. And everybody, tell Mr Smith to come prepared. Mr Smith is always prepared. Baby, oh my God, always prepared. All right, this is the Game of Trappers. Show Like subscribe, we'll be back Later, later, y'all. Outro Music.
