Everybody, good up, Mr. Amazon. On today's Game of Traffic Show, we're going to talk about the insane video game crisis that's been going on recently, Mr. Amazon. What do you think about that?

SPEAKER_02:Yeah, we're also going to talk about the state-of-play Wolverine trailer, Mr. Amazon. Everybody's talking about in the internet.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_02:All right, Mr. Amazon. But begin the show. Well, yo, enough said, the pricing in video games, Mr. Amazon. Let's start off with the most, the world's most lobo gaming company and most forwardable gaming company at one time. Nintendo has now become enemy number one, Mr. Amazon. According to Common Book Resources, gamer Consumer Rights is already playing multiple protesting of the new Nintendo Switch console, asserting that Nintendo Switch 2 is more than overpriced. It is jeopardizing the console and game budgets throughout the gaming industry, setting an example of what consumers are willing to put up for entertainment. Signing the Switch for$450 tag and$80 games and key cards intentionally misleading. Mr. Amazon, it goes on. Gaming consumer rights continue to stay such as the players think twice before they put more money to the anti-consumer practice of these companies, which they mean Nintendo Switch right now, Mr. Amazon. What do you think about that? They say consumer rights first, Mr. Amazon.
SPEAKER_01:Uh sorry. And usually I'm with the people. I've always been with the people, but in this instance, I have to say where where did this begin? Are you saying this from the from the onset? Because I mean you did complain on several shows about the pricing of the games. Me and you both thought the$80 price point was ridiculous. But are they are they complaining because the price is going up because of the tariffs? Or are they just saying that from the onset the switch to the pricing on that and accessories are just too expensive? That's what I want to know.
SPEAKER_02:It's amazing. I think a lot of people just looking at is greed. I know there are terrorists, but people are looking at like instead of passing off to consumers, eat the course.
SPEAKER_01:Day in, day out, media come on the show, we talk about that. It ain't gonna happen, Michael. Yo, we've been told by our friend, uh, what was it? Was it Spencer? No, not Spencer, who told us go get a second job. Yo, Michael, we've been told everything, man. Look, it's not gonna happen. It's this day and age, it is what it is. I I do agree there are there is greed, but I do think Nintendo kept their price as low as they can for uh for you getting uh a handheld slash console in 2025 with the way the market is and everything is, the price point that they keep it at, I I I it's sad to say, but it's fair. But I do agree that the price point of their games that's not fair. I I I don't think we should be having$80 games uh for a game like um what was it again, uh Mario Kart. When you know, especially when they're gonna be DLCs later on down the line, that you're gonna have to spend more money for. Again, like that. When it's all because you know, again like that little ice shelf one that's what, seven, eight years? We see it with the prior one. So by the time you're done with that game, what are you gonna spend? Buck 75 on the game? Just the game by itself? I mean, you look at it that way.
SPEAKER_02:You talking about Grant of Art, buck 75?
SPEAKER_01:No, I'm talking about Mario uh Kart. I'm talking about that game. You start at 80, but when it's all set up, but by the time you're done getting all the DLCs and so on, you can't.
SPEAKER_02:Exactly.
SPEAKER_01:But you're right, Street Fire. A lot of games are like that. A lot of games are like that.
SPEAKER_02:Well, Mr. Mason, yeah, they continue to say, because they already got Motor Date selled to protest, Mr. Dame, Mr. Mr. Amazon. Waste of time. Huh? I think it's a waste of time. They plan on the okay, at New York City Comic-Con on October 11th to protest, Mr. Mason.
SPEAKER_01:You know, the five people are gonna come out, it's gonna be wasted time.
SPEAKER_02:Mr. Mason, they also say they're gonna protest at PAX Unplugged on November 22nd as well.
SPEAKER_01:Listen, you know why it's a waste of time, Michael? I didn't even know about it till you told me. When you when you're about to protest and do big things like that, usually it's known. Look, I love my thing is what should an intended price be, Michael? What what did they want it to be? It's it's priced at what?$450 without the game,$500 with the game, right? But me, you had a discussion about that, and you disagreed with me, certain stance. I did, but I I'm I'm looking at it today's market. Today's market dictates that now. Especially with tax. The fact that when the tax went, all the other systems went increased their price, they kept their new system at the same price, and then instead what they did was we hiked up our old system.
SPEAKER_02:That's that's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_01:It is stupid, but you rather that or the switch to get price hike. Which would you rather? Think of it that way. Which would you rather? They said, oh man, we can't. We a new setup just can't, we can't just put a price hike on that. So you can't do that. But I just think there's a poor.
SPEAKER_02:I thought it was the point of this with P to push Pew to buy the Dino Switch 2.
SPEAKER_01:I didn't look at it like that.
SPEAKER_02:I look at it as well.
SPEAKER_01:I looked at it as this it's the it's the end life of our old system. Everything is going up. We're losing out on the Switch 2 right now because of these new tariffs. So how do we make money and then still try to get new consumers in? Hike up the old system. I think I think I I think I think what Nintendo did was alright. I did do I do disagree what they did with that game. The game where they teach you how to use a new system. They put was it was like a$50-10 price tag, but that was stupid. I agree with that. I thought the the$80 price tag was stupid. I still think the Joy-Con pricing is ridiculous, also. I I think the Nintendo's accessories are too expensive. That I I definitely agree with the people. Oh, so Mr.

SPEAKER_01:$24.99. So we also have a 3D with this virtual board. Well, this is the same thing, actually. So I mean it's not bad. It's cardboard. Okay, it's amazing. Okay. Let's look at this. So let's look at this now. A virtual boy for Nintendo Switch. This is the actual. Yes. Oh, so they got the day, they got the price for that.$100 they want for this. We said that, remember? We did say that. Huh? It's more than$100. No,$99.99. Yeah, we yo, yo, ladies and gentlemen, we need to get my glass Gary Traffic glasses, y'all.
SPEAKER_02:No, it's$99.$99.99, yeah. No, because now I'm thinking about the price we guess. I think I guess what$100 are you guessed for. We said$100. We both said about$100.
SPEAKER_01:I think it's a buck to a buck fifty.

SPEAKER_01:Which we're pretty much around the market. So we we got it. I mean. What do you think? I mean, we called it. I think they kept it lower than the buck fifty that we wanted for it. So I guess we're within the uh the realms. So uh for for those who heard our last show, we had uh we guesstimated, I did what's guesstimate, yeah, because uh virtual boy, and then they finally have the price as Mike just presented to me. It's gonna be at$99.99. We'll release date oh on my daughter's birthday, February 17th, 2026. So for those who are interested, we have a date and we have a price, y'all.
SPEAKER_02:So if you want to get the virtual boy, instead of the virtual boy, you want to get the box at$25 for a cardboard box.
SPEAKER_01:Who's gonna get that though, like it's always a waste of time?
SPEAKER_02:And what game, what game, what game should you play on? It tells you, right? Let's see. Uh well, they're and the virtual board is actually for the Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2. Okay, that's cool.
SPEAKER_01:So it's backward compatible. So with the virtual board, you get some classes. You get Virtual Board titles like Teller Boxer, Galactic Pinball. Which I never I don't even never play this stuff. I never actually played the Virtual Boy ever since.
SPEAKER_02:I just thought I thought if they want to do this, they should upgrade it, put color to it, instead of the red, the red outlining for it.
SPEAKER_01:But this is a caveat to this. So according to this, my I'm gonna give credit. Well, this is I guess for the Nintendo website. So to play games of the Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics, you will need an active Nintendo Switch Online plus expansion pack membership. That's why I said it costs more. As I said, as I meant, it costs more. So it's not, I have it. Oh no, you need to get up on a membership, whatever that membership might be. That's what I was saying.
SPEAKER_02:It's gonna cost more than 99. I was trying to give you the hint. Yes, it's gonna cost more than 99.
SPEAKER_01:You do need a membership to play this, actually. So it ain't 99.99 straight out the box, y'all. So you got a heads up.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. But like I said, like I said before earlier, Nintendo Switch was a lobable gamer console, which is affordable. Nintendo Switch, the first one, which came out in 2017, the price was$299, and it never really lowered. What's going on? Yeah,$300. Now it's priced at$339. You know what I'm saying? And the OLED, the most expensive console, is now priced at$400. The Swiss Lite increased from$199 to$230. And this is no, this generation is very strange. Instead of prices going lower, it's going higher.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. But some of this we have to contribute to the time we live in now with the tariffs. A lot of that is due to that, also. I mean, first of all, I think these prices would have been the the same. And you figure with the sales, the price are gonna be back to the original prices.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, yeah, but I told you during Chris Time, they're gonna have to sell back to the regular price.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, there's a sell. Oh, back to the regular price.
SPEAKER_02:So, ladies and gentlemen, we're getting duped. Yeah, we're getting duped. And also the price of the lawnmower was increased to$10. I think what is it,$109 now? Yeah, yeah. So, and also the Joy Cons? No, Joy Cons. Yeah, Law Mow, I think a Lormo was it$99 or$89? I don't remember if I had to be honest with you. I think it's not, I think it's increased by$10. So it's either between$100,$110, and also the Joy-Cons, Switch Joy Cons are now what? It was oh,$109. Get out of here. Yeah. It was$80 before.$89.

SPEAKER_02:I never bought. Remember, I I the set I got. That's the only set I have. The original? Yeah, I always bought, I just bought the controllers. The controllers. Yeah, the controllers more too. I buy the controllers. I don't know. I never liked those things. I think it was for small kids. You know what I'm saying? So, and they are Amiibos sell for$40. Those Street Fighter Amiibos? Yeah. Kimberly,$40. That's expensive. So it's ridiculous.

SPEAKER_02:And this was the most lovable, lovable, affordable console to all families. It was. Was Nintendo.
SPEAKER_01:Now I can't bab all on Nintendo, but they they do got to partake in some of the blame, but I can't name it all on them. But what what about the what about the other sessions that are non-console? Like, for example, the Mario clock, alarm clock, that means you thought it was kind of cool.
SPEAKER_00:No, that's what I said.
SPEAKER_01:The lawnmower.

SPEAKER_02:That's the one.
SPEAKER_01:That's$100 when it came out. It's$189. I think it was$100. 100%$100. It's$100$100? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's$110. Because I wanted to get it.
SPEAKER_02:I wanted to get it. So it's$110. I would get it because I think that might be worth a lot of money later on.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's pretty cool because it tracks your wake up. We spoke about it. I thought it's kind of funny. I think it's cool.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I didn't want to get that. I was thinking the styles would be worth a lot of money. I mean, I I think like three years from now, they'd be selling it for 200 bucks.
SPEAKER_01:Especially when it becomes hard to find.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, 200 bucks, 300 bucks. You know what I'm saying? So even some of the older Switch games is still selling for the either regular price or higher. So some of these uh we go to some of these trade shows. Which is true. Yeah. So Mr. Mason, we can't forget PlayStation. Woo, woo, PlayStation. Who have we reported has has sold, has not excuse me, not sold, but has raised the price in all territories until they got to the US a month ago.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, we finally got hit with the price hike.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, we got hit with the price hike. So of it came up to$50 each console. Pretty much. So USA got it. But also, Sony recently, it's gonna recently stay that will they will release a placing s uh Slim but Mr. Mason, a new one, for the same price, Mr. Mason, in the UK. But Mr. Mason, less storage. Instead of one terabyte, 825 gigabytes.
SPEAKER_01:That makes no sense to my according to my book.
SPEAKER_02:This is a way to save money. So to keep the price the same, keep the price at the same level.
SPEAKER_01:That's crazy. I just feel like corporate, because this is all corporate at this point, need to fight back.
SPEAKER_02:Like, oh quiz the corporate need to fight with consumers need to fight back. Because now you're saying, now you're contradicting yourself with the consumer rights group who's saying they should fight back, who also said they're gonna protest at a game awards show as well.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. No, no, you're right, actually. I am contradicting myself. What so let me clear yourself. I think Nintendo is doing what the market dictates. I I I hold my stance on that. But I also do think the corporate world has to fight back with the government because now you're just but this is then it gets political. I don't want to get political here. I just think there has to be a cutoff because yes, I get the the the the grooves, the the the they want to protest, but they're doing everything based on the market. It's not like they sent, they woke up today and says, let's go send$50 thing. Like, you know, it's not it's not like what Netflix, Disney, don't know what they were doing a couple of months ago or a year ago when they're all facing a price of retreat. Which is still doing now. And which is still doing that at a very poor timing, too, actually, but we'll talk about that later. Um It's not like the the the console wars are doing that. They're doing it based on on uh on the basis of what's happening. Economics. Economics. World economics. So, an assessance I understand, but I also feel that they have to fight back because at the end of the day, the customer's always right.
SPEAKER_02:Who's there? You're talking about the business, the business, yeah. They're not gonna do that. They're not gonna do that.
SPEAKER_01:I I I think everybody takes a hit.
SPEAKER_02:Not gonna do that. You know you're not gonna do that. I know they're not gonna do that. People listen know then they're not gonna do that. The company's not gonna do that.
SPEAKER_01:So you you think protesting is the right thing? Hey, see what happens.
SPEAKER_02:Oh no, but Mr. Mason. What kind of what kind of protest works? Oh, but you just don't buy. Yes, that's the only kind of protest that works. That's the one I realize. Oh, it works. Oh, it works. It's like you vote for your you vote with your wallet. You protest with your wallet.
SPEAKER_01:We we've seen that plenty of times. That works. That works. We've seen it plenty of times.
SPEAKER_02:You see what Jimmy and Kimber days. See when Jimmy Kimball, people start dropping their uh Disney description.
SPEAKER_01:1.7 million people dropped their prescription in four days. You know what happened? Jimmy Kimball's back home. Target, target was another one. So as we can see, hey, money does talk.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So vote with your wallet, protest for your wallet. That's the only thing companies understand. Matter of fact, it's the only thing people understand.
SPEAKER_01:Isn't funny you say that? Because it I I was gonna say this for later in the show, but you know what? We're kind of on the topic of it, so I'm gonna bring it up now. Michael just said that vote with your wallet, you know. That's how you talk, but in a similar situation, but you're not vote with your wallet. It's about capitalism. Is as we all know, the NFL today announced their headliner for the super for the half-time show, which is who you know do you know this, Michael? You don't know. I forgot. It's Bad Buddy, it's Bad Buddy. So Bad Buddy's the headline, and people are going banana crazy, like, oh, why? He's anti-American, he's anti this. Uh you know how he's like that? Last week, the man, because he he did a residency in Puerto Rico, he did a show, right? Yeah, the guy had, I think it was a correct if I'm wrong, he had 13 million views on a on a typical Saturday. What do you think the NFL said? The NFL said, whoa! This guy just had 13 million views on Amazon Prime? Yo, Jay-Z, go get this guy to do the halftime show. It's not about capital. I think in Monga Game and I were just talking about this, we think he's gonna break Michael Jackson's record for the most viewed Super Bowl of all time. I think he's gonna destroy Michael Jackson's record, actually. From the numbers he pulled in and then what he's gonna do to that fan. And then, you know, in the Super Bowl, you have the fans that come just for the halftime show. And he's the hottest artist of tw of the summer 2025 leading to the fall now.
SPEAKER_02:I think well, all day Michael Jackson had this fans because then they have streaming advice. Yeah, of course.
SPEAKER_01:I agree with you with that one. But if they were if those were there, probably Michael's numbers would be better, but it'll be better. But he I think he's gonna crush the numbers because of what he did on a regular Amazon and now to the Super Bowl. I think he's gonna crush him. What's Mike Jackson record? I have to Google that one. I have to look into that one, too. But I think he's gonna crush it me and my mom game both agree that he's gonna crush those numbers. I think he's gonna come close. You always gonna come. No, Mike's gonna crush him. Michael, the guy did 13 billion on a regular Saturday with just one audio. You can't go against the king of pop, all right? Last but not least, Xbox, Mr. Amazon, who allegedly don't care about console sales, but recently stated, Microsoft recently they're raising price of the Xbox Series S and S consoles in the US next month. This is the second price increase, Mr. Maze, within this year, Mr. Amazon. This is this whisk this was included. Xbox Series X will now be$649. And the Series X will now be Mr. Amazon. Guess what, Mr. Amazon? Bring up the price down for me. Series X will now move from$399 to. Oh, sorry. Oh no, what's up? Series move. Yes.$399 from the$379 course.
SPEAKER_01:Yes, that is correct. Mr.
SPEAKER_02:Amazon. So.
SPEAKER_01:And the S that's that's the S525 gigabytes. Because then the because you have the X Series S1 term. That was$449, and that's jumping up to uh no, no. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's going to it was$429, now it's jumping to$449.
SPEAKER_02:Yes. So these are the price increases that's going. I think we discussed it earlier in one of the other episodes. So these prices are continuing to increase. Microsoft who say they don't care about console, but on October 3rd will start these price increases. And also, Mr. Amazon, they have the highest price console, which is Mr. Amazon, what? The two terabyte Galaxy Black special Xbox increase$70. Now it's$800. That's crucial. Mr. Amazon, nobody buying that.
SPEAKER_01:Nobody's buying it. My thing is why with Microsoft? Like we, you know, this was should be protesting. Agreed. And this is what you call the cards.
SPEAKER_02:My thing is like, well, it's two terabyte. I can just buy um per in the city. Two terabytes cartridge that they have. And it's putting in the hard drive. Yeah, you're right. That's put in there.
SPEAKER_01:It makes no sense. For us, uh a console that does not care about uh sales of their hardware.
SPEAKER_02:But this is the way Microsoft make their capital. They're selling less, so we gotta do something to make money.
SPEAKER_01:But no, who's gonna buy it? Who's gonna buy it? You're gonna buy this medicine. You're gonna be Chris on the damn show. It's a fan-friendly show, y'all. I go buy it. I'm on Christmas show. We ain't buying.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, sorry, we ain't doing that.
SPEAKER_01:Yo, my thing is what would we buy that for? It makes no sense to me. And on top of that, you already announced that you for the your next gen, you're gonna make another hardware. So what the heck is that gonna cost? You're announcing your your this is not your last console. You still you you still got another hardware coming out. So what's that gonna cost?
SPEAKER_02:A thousand dollars for a system? It doesn't, and Microsoft, the gift that Keesong giving. Mr. Mason, okay, the rogue out the ally, the role ally handheld for Microsoft is the base one that's gonna cost 600 bucks. More than 100 bucks for the Nintendo Switch, what comes with a game? Mr. Mason, with also the major one. And me, you thought, I think I said 800 bucks. Guess that thing is a thousand bucks. I I believe it though.
SPEAKER_01:Think about it.
SPEAKER_02:The one the one that is the top tier one.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's about right. Remember, we thought it would be a high deck because remember these handhelds, these PC handhelds, and then the Steam Deck, you think about it. Steam Deck is almost seven something. The Steam Deck, the Steam Deck looks like a bargain now. Yeah, it does. And then I was complaining about the price of that at one point, but it does look a bargain.
SPEAKER_02:You crack myself, Mr. Amazon. The uh the uh the Xbox Wild Alloy was it's not hundreds, it's$100 more than Nintendo Switch 2. So, so you know what I'm saying? It's still expensive, counts, whatever you whatever.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, okay, okay. No. Let me just make a correction. So Michael Jackson was the highest viewed Super Bowl. He he had he was at 133.4 million. Last year, Kendrick Lamore beat him by like a point. It's 133.5 million.
SPEAKER_02:I'm surprised Kendrick Lamar beating us.
SPEAKER_01:Literally by a point. So you already know Bad Boy's gonna kill it. That already answers my that already answers my question.
SPEAKER_02:I like Kendrick The youth, youth, youth, the youth. So did this buy this this come for the halftime show? Yeah, I mean people do that. Anybody watch that? Anybody watch the Super Bowl? That's the only thing good about that Super Bowl. It was the blowout. It was really.
SPEAKER_01:But so that goes to tell me Bad Boy's gonna destroy those numbers, man.
SPEAKER_02:But Mr. Amazon, it doesn't even get worse for the Xbox, Mr. Amazon. Yes, sir. Costco, the third biggest retailer in the USA, Mr. Amazon, when it comes to Walmart, you know what I'm saying, and Amazon, Costco no longer selling Xboxes currently, right now, Mr. Amazon. What do you think about that? East, I'm gonna tell you something, each generation Xbox is selling less. Mm-hmm. After the big bump of the Xbox 360, it'll be going down. I know, that's crazy if you think about it. And the person I blame is John Mattrin. Yeah, you can say that. You can say that. Tell anybody get another TV. Or if you want you, if you want a console that's more affordable, go get the 360.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. And when asked Costco why business decision. Keep it real, it's not profitable, man. That's what it is. They're not so pretty much they're getting rid of all their old stock, no accessories at all. They're not making money off of it. And then plus, it's also Microsoft's fault too, because their strategy is to focus on software and services rather than the hardware. So they're like, wait, so you guys don't care. So how am I a third party caring more than you? Get this crap out of my store. Yeah, and I'm not mad about that.
SPEAKER_02:I barely see anything for Xbox.
SPEAKER_01:Well, you don't, because they're there. Remember, they're but that's why I don't get what Microsoft is. They need to stand out they are. Are you today's generation Sega? Is that what you guys are? Say if that's what you want to be, then say that's what you want to be. Or if you don't be a cloud gaming system, be a cloud gaming system. You don't make consoles no more. And when you do, they're unaffordable. It's crazy. I feel bad for people who are diehard Xbox fans. I really do. I don't feel bad for them. They're clowns. A lot of them are clowns. Damn, I'm gonna give you a mighty gonna call you because she likes the Xbox way more than the PlayStation.
SPEAKER_02:A lot of people like I still don't get. I still don't we don't get that. And like I said, look, I have an Xbox too. You know, but I think a lot of people, the console boys, and you see on uh war no more. It's not even a war. It's a it's a beatdown to get Xbox again. You know what I'm saying? SPEAKER_01:I mean, I I personally always like the Xbox uh controller? I I do, I I I had a little thing for the controller a bit more, but I've been playing PlayStation more, so I'm kind of adjusted. But the Xbox controller felt more premium to me. That's one.

That's why they did that. So that was that. But I I also like the Xbox, but what I like about the Xbox the most was their online. They're online connected, their their um face, Star Face.
