HEY!! My name is Melissa, a woman living every day with CRPS.I am married to my AWESOME husband Tommy, have 2 beautiful children Jeffery & Serena and I have 5 pups <3Pogo, Sadie, Randall, Ru & Raja. I am a middle child of 5. I am bringing this podcast to you to spread the word about CRPS. There will be education, & stories to make you laugh, cry, say HUH??? Did I say make you laugh :DA little about CRPS, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome (RSD), is a chronic pain condition in which high levels of nerve impulses are sent to an affected site. Experts believe that CRPS occurs as a result of dysfunction in the central or peripheral nervous systems. CRPS / RSD is classed as the most painful chronic pain condition that is known. It reaches approx. 42 out of 50 on the McGill Pain Scale, higher than non-terminal cancer, higher than amputation of a finger without anesthesia… In some research it has been said that CRPS Type II can reach as high as 47 out of 50.There is no cure for CRPS. Gaucher disease, Fabry disease, Maple syrup urine disease, and Phenylketonuria, Hemophilia, Von Willebrand disease, and Aplastic anemia, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Rett syndrome, Spina bifida, and Tourette's syndrome, Chronic granulomatous disease, Severe combined immunodeficiency, and Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, osteogenesis imperfecta, achondroplasia, and dwarfism, Ebola, Malaria, Rabies, and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, Bloom syndrome, Xeroderma pigmentosum, Alice in Wonderland syndrome, and Bardet-Biedl syndrome.
