Russell Season 2 Episode 37

Let me know your thoughts on this Episode!

On October 7th Protestors in Vancouver gathered to announce that they are Hezbollah & Hamas. They invoked the name of dead terrorist martyrs. They chanted and cheered death to Canada and burnt the Canadian Flag. This isn't about Israel, these are revolutionaries who wish to topple Canada.

Note: As of the time I have posted this episode, the Liberal Government pressured by the opposition and US allies has formally declared this group a terrorist organization. What that means and what will be done about it remains to be seen.

Russell: All right, folks, and we're back. Russell here with the canadian conservative podcast. And today I wanted to talk about an issue. It's going to be a solo episode here, and I think it's an issue that we need to take very seriously. So October 7 in Vancouver, there's a group, pro palestinian group, and they held a rally in which they said that they are Hamas, they are Hezbollah. They invoke the name of dead terrorist martyrs, and then they chanted, death to Canada, death to United States, and death to Israel. And they followed it up with the burning of a canadian flag. And it's really concerning because there seems to be a large group of people online that are defending it saying, well, it's just freedom of speech. But freedom of speech doesn't COVID death threats. Now, freedom of speech does cover flag burning. Yes. Canadians are allowed to burn their flag if they choose to do so, although it's recommended they only do so when they are disposing of it in an appropriate way after wear and tear on a flagpole, as per official protocols. However, if someone chooses to buy a canadian flag and burn it, it's 100% their right to do so, and it's our right to disagree with that action and to use that action as a red flag. I would encourage people, if they see people saying death to Canada and burning a canadian flag, that they treat it very seriously as a red flag for what they intend to do. Now, for people that say, well, you're just making this up or whatever else. Here's a clip from, from that rally. So as you heard there, they are very blatantly saying death to Canada, and they're doing it to a cheering crowd and people will say, well, it's just a couple of whack jobs. Oh, there's about 100 people there, and they are all cheering it on. They're loving it. They're in their element. Little disturbing, little worrisome. But I think what's even more worrisome than that is the statements that were made afterwards. So of course, it drew some outrage, and it should. So this group called Sam Adune, their palestinian prisoner solidarity network. Our brief statement on October 7, on October 7, Samudun held a rally in March commemorating one year the start of al Qasa flood, demarcating the palestinian resistances new phrase of the fight to end israeli settler colonialism, which has been choking Palestine since 1948. In the course of the rally speeches, a member from our organization spoke the phrase death to Canada, death to United States, and death to Israel. We acknowledge that the community was shocked by the phrase and the burning of the canadian flag that came after the march was concluded. Yet we at Samidone stand by this phrase as the call to action. That it is the imperial corps in Canada in which we live is as responsible for the ongoing genocide in Palestine as the zionist entity. While stating death to Canada and burning the flag are phrases that express anger and rage towards the heinous crimes of this state, is important to acknowledge that symbolism is a powerful tool to create material change and it enables the community to act against the state. Death to Canada, symbolically expressed in the burning of the flag, is a call to dismantle the bourgeoisie, colonial capitalist canadian state that is responsible for the genocide of indigenous people here and fully complicit in zionist genocide of Palestinians. As Hannah Kawas said, we are not just fighting against the zionist state, we are fighting against imperialism. For Palestine to be free from the river to the sea, imperialism must be crushed. And that means the end of the current colonial capitalist state of Canada, which plays a key role in the globalist, imperialist block of power. We see it as our duty to escalate the resistance here as we salute the heroism, brilliance, sacrifice and deep commitment and faith of the palestinian resistance in the entire axis of resistance whose struggle is liberating humanity. There's a bit more. I won't get into it any more than that. Now what is Samidone? Is it? Palestinian prisoner Solidarity Network is a registered canadian non for profit with a clear and direct affiliation ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, an organization that has been placed on the list of terrorist entities under Canada's Criminal Code since 2003. Now mind you, this group is not under that code. The group that they represent is, but they themselves are not. I think it needs to be made very clear here that when people tell you what they intend to do, we need to believe them. So when they tell us that Canada needs to end, they mean it. And I believe them. And I won't be found wanting and I don't think anyone else should. This isn't simply an issue of freedom of speech. This isn't simply an issue of a difference of opinion. This is a group of people that are wholly dedicated to the eradication of Canada. They don't view us as a legitimate state. They literally view us as the enemy and they are saying it out loud for a group that definitely doesnt respect Canada. They quite enjoy hiding behind our charter as a way to insulate themselves from consequences of those actions. But I think this is different than the right versus left issue. I think this is different than differing opinions on different political subjects. This is a group that literally wants to destroy Canada like they want it destroyed. They want it gone. And I think that we need to treat that very seriously. This is not a free speech issue. And I've seen conservatives and I've seen people online, while they haven't done anything wrong, they're just exercising their freedom of speech. Perhaps. But then I have to ask those people, what is your red line? Is it when the bodies start stacking up? Is it when the terrorist attacks start happening? All of a sudden we're going to take this swift action against groups like this? Canada is not immune to terrorist attacks. We had a van attack in Edmonton a few years ago which ended with the perpetrator getting out of the van and stabbing a police officer several times, trying to kill the police officer in the same city. We also had an individual that signed up with the commissionaires, released a manifesto, then went to city hall and was throwing malt of cocktails and had an sks on them. So we're not immune to these types of attacks. We're not immune to these threats in general. I've stayed pretty neutral on the Israeli Palestine conflict. I don't know a lot about it. I'm starting to get a little bit more information. I mean, I had Doctor Gulan on the show, it's in a previous episode talking about american Jews and Zionism. And it was an interesting conversation. And I've done a little bit more research since then as well, just to be a little bit more better educated. At the end of the day, though, to me, this is not just about Israel and Palestine. This is about a group that is fundamentally opposed to our way of life, fundamentally opposed to our living. And they view themselves as the good guys. You have to remember that they don't think that, oh, we're the bad guys and we're doing something mischievous. They think they're the good guys and they are not afraid to espouse their beliefs online on video and double down. And so, as I said earlier in this podcast, I really think we need to take them at their word. We need to believe them. They're telling us who they are and so we need to believe them. What that means for Canada? Well, I think we need to definitely list them as a terrorist entity and we need to figure out who's funding them and we need to figure out if they have any attacks planned in Canada. And then if they do, we need to take action because the whole protest mania that sprung up where every day, every other day, there's some type of protest somewhere in Canada by these certain groups, always trying to advocate for the revolution. So you have to remember, this isn't really about Palestine, per se. It's about the revolution. And it's about the revolution, always about the glorious revolution. So look past the issue of Palestine. It's not solely about Palestine. It's about revolution and these revolutionaries. Before it was Palestine, it was BLM. Before BLM, it was something else. Then it was Occupy Wall street. It continues to go back and back. And we just have to realize, like, the cause is never really the cause that they're after. The cause is always the revolution. And so we have to be very, very careful with these people. And we need the government at all levels to take this very seriously. And we need people to take this seriously. You have people on our streets advocating for the destruction of Canada and the destruction of our culture and the destruction of our way of life. And they will utilize our systems. They will utilize our laws. They will skirt our laws and use themselves as extreme examples of free speech, a free movement. And they will make a mockery of our system, all while they plot the downfall of the system from within. And I've had people say, well, they're just a few kind of crazy people out of Vancouver. Well, we've seen the rallies. They're all across Canada, and they're all in the major cities. Revolution doesn't happen in the countryside. Revolution happens in the urban centers. And I read about this study that they did once, showcasing that, really, for a revolution to succeed, it's like 15% of the population and some of the major urban city centers have to revolt. And if they're successful, then they can literally change the government in a country. And so I think we need to be very, very cautious. Now, people have the right to protest. Okay? People have the right to protest against Israel if they choose to. I'm not telling them that they shouldn't, but I think when it crosses into saying, death to Canada, death to United States, who's our ally? Death to Israel, who's our ally? We're into some very, very bad territory. We have to remember we still have to have good relations with the United States. And ever since 911, really, the states doesn't trust us. They think that we harbor terrorists here. They think our laws are too lax. They don't treat us very seriously on the Five Eyes security front. And at the end of the day, it doesn't seem like we really do a lot to counteract actual extremism? Well, we talk about, you know, some right wingers that maybe don't want drag queens reading to their kids in schools. And we call them extreme, and we do big hit pieces on that. But when it actually comes down to things of substance, we seem almost incapable of actually taking concrete action and announcing that action to Canadians so that they can actually feel safe. So in conclusion, we have a group here. They've called for the death of Canada. They've called for the destruction of our way of life. We need to believe them. They're telling us what they intend to do, and we have to not be found wanting. All right, that's it for today. Thanks for tuning in, and we'll catch you on the next episode.
