In this episode of the On Track Podcast, Marketing & Communications Lead Sebastian Bennage is joined by Raymond Couture, Maintenance Foreman, in the Western Maine Conference Room Studio. Ray shares how he got his start as a heavy equipment mechanic, from tinkering as a kid to attending Eastern Maine Technical College, and reflects on 17 years of keeping a growing fleet safe and reliable, from compactors to crushers. The conversation gets into what a strong shop philosophy looks like, why an in-house maintenance team matters for reducing downtime, and how equipment has evolved, especially as electronics, sensors, emissions systems, and diagnostic software have changed the work.
